Mulling over what to have this morning as my stomach's a bit unsettled at the moment. Might go for a bit of porridge for a change. I haven't had it for a while- so a big factor is how you're feeling. Got a yearning for a thin soup though- once knocked one up with a bit of a stock cube, thin pasta, scallion, peas , ham and a few seasonings- haven't made it the same since though.

So, what do you lot thinks a decent start when you're queasy: or ill for that matter- yep, got a cold too?

Cup-a-soup it is for ease?

Protein, please.

I would alternate sausages one day and eggs the next. Usually with a slice of toast, rye or sourdough.

No pancakes. french toast, waffles or bagels

Sometimes o;d fashioned oatmeal or hot whole grain cereal, made with milk, not water.

When in the UK we enjoyed the "full English breakfast" (even the black pudding) although you would not want to eat much after that for the rest of the day,

eggs Benedict are delightfully decadent

I mean, the eggs, bacon and buttered toast are amazing, but you simply can’t go wrong with black pudding.
At least here in Scotland.

For me? A good nuts and dried fruits muesli, or some toast with citron/berries marmalade and orange juice/tea.

Now I very rarely eat breakfast because I'm too lazy to cook it.

When I find someone to cook it for me (who's not my boyfriend because he will offer to cook but all food he touches turns to charcoal), I will either just have sausage sandwiches or a full english minus eggs (don't like eggs.)
If I go out, it's pancakes or waffles, sometimes with syrup, sometimes with fried chicken; sometimes with both, sometimes plus bacon (yeah, I know, I'm healthy.) If I'm travelling I've been known to eat a burger for breakfast if we go passed the services.

My bf has a glass of cider at breakfast most of the time, then won't drink anything else for the rest of the day.

ooh- too acid but better that than apple juice.

alcohol wise it'd have to be a full bodied ale- at least it would sit well on the stomach or a stout/porter- but not guiness- too bitter/sour or mackesons-too sweet.

otherwise in booze terms whisky or maybe some other spirit. i believe in france spain/france they knock back a brandy. i suppose that'd work as it's warming and full bodied.

Migas are probably the best thing to start the day with, but there's nothing like a chicken-fried steak with gravy, eggs, and hashbrowns to warm one's heart if you eat breakfast later in the day for some reason.

Anything. Like leftovers from the fridge.

Specifically: A bowl of Cinnamon toast crunch, milk, chocolate milk.
