Well as a federation as myself. I wonder how other federations do it? Well Amanzono the federation is made up of tribal nations that form Provinces.

[Independent Carolina]

The 'North American Federation of Independent Carolina' is made of three Autonomous Republics, which are autonomous regions that act in a similar fashion to constituent countries; the AR's are the Autonomous Republic of the Union, the Autonomous Republic of Canada, and the Autonomous Republic of Mexico. These AR's are then made up of states; so for example, the Union State of New England, the Canadian State of Canada, and the Mexican State of Yucatan. Finally, in each state there there are counties; examples are the County of New York, the County of Saskatchewan, and the County of Veracruz.

[The Vrree Nations]

The Vrree Nations are actually just a collection of tribes that are all fully independent of each other, with no real central government.

Foreign policy, defence, and extraterrestrial exploration and development are respectively handled by three semi-private organizations called syndicates. Known as the Triumvirate or the Big Three, these three syndicates together form the "government" of the Vrree Nations. In truth the syndicates are all fully independent of each other and the individual nations, and vice-versa.

What unites the Vrree Nations is our willingness to cooperate and delegate certain responsibilities to the Triumvirate for the benefit of the species as a whole. It is a vast and deadly galaxy we find ourselves in, and to survive, we must band together.

Etyria is a federal republic founded on the borders of the old feudal landships of the Empire.

The power of the Provinces (standard names, some are States, Commonwealths, Assemblies or Association) is to enact their own laws on each subject not filled by a Federal Law (For example, death penalty is forbidden in all Etyria, but the jail time will be different from province to province). At a National level, the provinces are represended by Governors (Standard name, there are Doges, Commodores, Delegates, Lictors or Directors sometime), which act as head of Province and can assemble in the General Assembly of Provinces, which has the power of veto on any Federal law, by unanimity minus three vote.
Defense is assured by the Federation, as are Foreign Policy and many social laws, such as minimum wage.
The Provinces have full power when it comes to Justice and police force, but are forced to comply with the Federal Law.
If a Provincial Law is in conflict with a Federal law, the Province must change its legislature, this is why the Federal laws are called "Marble Laws" while Provincial laws are called "Paper Laws".

Wow guys. All of your federations are amazing! Well. Let me give you give details about Amazono. Well amazono is in south america and it has 20 Providences. In each province speaks its own language and consists of other tribal nations in the province. It could be one nation or many others. The federation's national langue is Portuguese. We are a eco nation and we are masters of nuclear energy. We care about the environment. Theirs a lot of things about Amazono and I will give more facts and I will make a part 2.

Auzkhia is a federal monarchy, meaning that the federal government is a constitutional monarchy and its member states are monarchies too, with the notable exception of the three republican Hanseatic City States of Hamburg, Lübeck, and Bremen. All states have representation in the Imperial Council through elected officials of the lower House of Deputies. States have varying fiscal polices, different official languages, and for some, different militaries. Though all defence forces are subordinate to the Imperial and Royal High Command. Head of states of the Federal States are local monarchs or viceregal officials representing the Habsburg monarchy, for example the latter can be the Palatine of Hungary, the King's representative. Bavaria and Prussia have their own kings, but are in fealty to the Emperor and his federal state. States, mostly being monarchies, have prefixes such as Kingdom, Grand Duchy, Archduchy, Duchy, and Principality. Even some local governments in states are federated monarchies, though they are considered to be fiefs. Municipalities can only be altered by states.

There are Imperial Territories and these were former colonies and protectorates in Africa, Caribbean, and the Pacific. Territories are administrated by a Statthalter or a Federal Governor. Territories have less rights than states, but have different tax laws, and can have their local currencies. People in territories are still Auzkhian Citizens.

The Federal Government's primary functions are foreign affairs, defence, and inter-state arbitration, such as dynastic disputes, succession crises, tax issues, and land claims. It is worth noting that "Imperial and Royal" (K.u.K), "Federal" and "Imperial" are used alternatively.

[Menavolosia]

The Catholic Empire of Menavolosia is a Federation of 12 Duchies and 1 Kingdom. It was Established at the Time After the People's Republic Of Menavolos in what we call the Federation of Menavolosia. It was established by 10 Republics and the other 5 Republics of the PRM Seceeded after the Revolution. The 3 Republics of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan was recaptured at the 2nd Menavolosian-Azenyanistani War. The Empire was established via 2015 Referendum and President Bea Loquellano (Only President of the Federation of Menavolosia) became Empress Bea I di Loquellano of Menavolosia.

Each Duchy is Seperated into Oblasts which is ruled by an Elected Count.

The Duchies follow the Law that is enacted by the Empress of Menavolosia.
Each Duchy has the Right to Secede from the Empire through Referendum and a Secession War.
Dukes/Duchesses that don't have a Legal Heir and Die without a Heir is reported to the Empress and the Empress will Decide who will be the Duke in a List of Families.

While Plessur is not exactly a federation, it is divided up into 'Leagues' which are further divided up into municipalities. Every municipality contributes a member to the unicameral parliament, the House of Plessur. The Leagues have a measure of autonomy and are administered by League Committees, which consist of the members of the House for the municipalities of the respective League. Examples of matters that Leagues have power over are transport and housing.

There are nine Geopolitical Divisions each with their own government, local population, and societies, plus two SARs (Special Administrative Regions). The Central Division is the most powerful Division and basically the heart of the nation.
