The World Assembly,
Recognising that the Internet has become an indispensable tool for realizing a range of human rights, combating inequality, and accelerating development and sapient progress, ensuring universal access to the Internet should be a priority for all member nations;
Noting The increasing access to technology such as mobile phones has already proven to provide developing nations with further economic development opportunities.
Increasing access to the Internet can, for example, improve low income individuals' access to financial services such as savings accounts and enable online trading;
Hereby,
1. Defines, the following for the purpose of this resolution,
a. "The Internet" as a system of interconnected computer networks that use the Internet protocol suite to link devices worldwide;
2. Requires each member nation to develop a concrete and effective policy, in consultation with individuals from all sections of society, including the private sector and relevant Government ministries, to make the Internet widely available, accessible and affordable to all segments of population;
3. Mandates that all WA nations provide the opportunity to an Internet access to its sapient inhabitants excluding criminals;
4. Urges WA nations to help other WA nations in establishing and maintaining the suitable infrastructure required for providing an Internet connection.
