I know. The idea that the government knows what you've done with your guns terrifies you.

But you would have to record all your gun sales and retain them for government inspection for 10 years.
We already do that with a 20-to-50 year history regarding all FFL-transfers (50 for NFA items iirc).
Because one never knows when someone dusts off that Stg-44 and a crate of 80 year old ammo for a bank-robbery.

And to call private sales sans background check a loophole is disingenuous and an outright lie. It isn't a loophole as it doesn't exist.

It can't be enforced, and I honestly believe that it's deliberately designed to be that way as in a few years when it fails miserably as it has in Cali, the anti's can then turn around and use it as fuel to further burden the law abiding and continue chipping away at the 2A.

Your right he's more like the Sears tool department. You know he and others seem to think a law that works in one nation will work here yet here forgets key factors to why something like Australian gun law won't work.
1. The USA has about 302+ million more people then Australia
2. Gun culture is different
3. They don't have the God approved 2nd Amendment

Please don't mock the Sears tool department. The Sears closest to me is closing, I'm still in mourning.

Walking through the Lowes tool department with my dad wasn't part of my childhood, though.
Besides, now I just get my Craftsman fix online, as Sears has a lot of online sales that are better than Lowes retail price, and my purchases can be delivered to my house (in the case of the toolbox I ordered for my birthday, that ability to get it delivered was one of the key reasons I went with an online order).
