It's a hadith specific towards drink and intoxication, and not sins in general. Although I'm sure there's a similar one to that which would have made your point a little better, I'm surprised that isn't being used as the example instead.
I was using an analogy. Qiyas is a thing in Al-Islam.

And if your handshake somehow ends with you getting pinned to the curbside, something probably went terribly wrong with that handshake.

"No one should say that their intention is sound or their heart is clean, because the one who was the purest of heart and the most chaste of all, the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) never touched a non-mahram woman, even when accepting bay’ah (oath of allegiance) from women."

I'm not a pureblood, but one would be hard-pressed to make a valid claim of sexual misconduct on my part.

For some reason "touching" in that hadith sounds more like a euphism ragarding consumation of marriage. Aside from the part about holding the hands of other men.

In terms of touching the hand of the opposite sex, there actually is ikhtilaaf (difference of opinion) on this issue. Some scholars believe it to be haram, others makruh and others halal.

Yes, but as pointed out in the other topic, Mohammed needed psychiatric help which was nonexisting in his day and age.
We can pity him for that; but also rejoice that help is now available. All one needs to do is accept it.

Muhammad never had a mental illness of any sort.
The allegation that Muhammad was mentally ill is a poor attempt to discredit his prophet hood nor is it backed up by any evidence whatsoever.

Muhammad being mentally ill doesn't make all that much sense, really.
Something certainly happened to him in that cave of his, though.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Muhammad is considered to have been mentally ill (and having been suffered from multiple mental disorders including sociopathy) by most of the Academia at this point. Hell, his "revelation" itself has almost all signs of schizophrenia.
But eh. Sure. Prophet, mentally ill, it's just a matter of the period of time it happens in.

Are you sure those "Academia" you speak of aren't the crazy ones for being delusional and dismissing historical facts?Jolthig wrote:Brothers, I'm going to philly tonight to a camp and class about preaching. Pray for me
