I would not anticipate significant overlap between the two tournaments.
Also, if you are interested in American Football in any way, this is the better focal point, as the Campionato Esportiva, for you as a first time nation, will probably be short and sweet. (just being painfully honest). This would be the larger RP opportunity for you.

Per the thread OP, the host won't be declared until the 8th. At that point, probably give them a week, and we're probably starting here around the 12th-15th, or in that vicinity.

Typically, for a competition like this, there are two weeks between the start of the thread and the host bid deadline, and another week for host voting. This seems to be following that trend. The Campionato Esportiva will be over by the time this starts.

I would like you guys to host here for two reasons: For one, sports activity is very high here, and adding a tournament like this will help fuel our tourism industry. For two, we just built a multiplex sports stadium here in Micronistan, and we need to test it out.

The football schedule should be like this: Do a best-of-3 for the quarterfinals, just like the MLB World Series, and do the semifinals as best-of-5 and the finals being best-of-7. Every other game is best-of-1. Also, do best-of-1 wild card games if the number of teams participating are not equal to a power of 2. That is how Micronistan Football works.

Score should be by whatever means necessary whether it is by paper or electronic means.

It's nice that you're eager to jump right in, but if you're hoping to actually win hosting rights, you'll want to be more specific about the method of scorination.

World Bowl 36 @ Ko-oren

This bid consists of three parts:
- Format
- OOC
- IC

Format:
Basically, we will start off with a group stage (home and away), followed by single-game knockouts. Proposed group size will be 5 or 6 nations per group, with a strong preference for groups of 6. Given that we're currently on 37 signups, that would make a field of 42 or 48 perfect, but I'm willing to work with 40, 45 or 50.

Knockouts will start with a Round of 16, and I will include a 3PPO (third place playoff).

So, in short:
- 40 teams: 8 groups of 5 nations, group winners and runners-up will advance.
- 42 teams: 7 groups of 6 nations, group winners, runners-up, and the two best third placed teams advance.
- 45 teams: 9 groups of 5 nations, group winners and the 7 best runners-up will advance.
- 48 teams: 8 groups of 6 nations, group winners and runners-up will advance. - Optimally, this would be the format.
- 50 teams: 10 groups of 5 nations, group winners and the 6 best runners-up will advance.

If needed, puppets will be cut from the signups to get to one of the above numbers, via the last in/first out principle.

OOC:
Cutoff would be after 21:00 CET (Central European Time), which is 3 PM Eastern. I want to start as soon as possible. I want to scorinate the first round within 3 days of the host announcement (probably the 11th), so the first half of the group stage will be completed around the time when the Olympics start. There will be a day off halfway through the group stage, and then there will be a day off after every knockout round. The way it looks right now, I want to get the group stage done before Christmas (given 10 match rounds and a day off, that should be done around the 22nd, so we've got time to spare should anything come up), and the knockout rounds should start after Christmas (provisionally starting the 27th, depending on my schedule around Christmas).

RP bonus will be cumulative, and quality will be rewarded.

Scorination will be done using xkoranate's SQIS formula with IFAF overtime, and home advantage applied during the group stage.

Tiebreakers:
1) Wins
2) H2H
3) Point differential

I'd like to request third-party scorination for Ko-oren games starting in the knockouts.

Hosting experience: one WCoH a while ago, and the Cricket T20 World Championships not as long ago. I've got a very extensive domestic league thread here and I'm in charge of several international club competitions (IRLCC for Rugby League and the Champions' Bowl in, you guessed it, Gridiron/American Football).

Ko-oren is home to 12 professional teams whose stadiums will be used for the World Bowl. Every game is to be played in Ko-oren, starting with the group stage. Foreign fans are very welcome! Ko-oren is extremely safe, its public transport is remarkably efficient, and is just all around really scenic. Also, we've once won a World Bowl so we hope that adds another (thin) layer of history if we're allowed to host!

Extensive host city and stadium information will be provided at the start of the tournament, but you can already find the list of stadiums here, where those stadiums are here and some host city information here (to be extended).

You would never win, but I have to ask, do you understand this sport? American football does not have a "series". There is one game, per round, period.
