The female drivers from Lisander took a walk by the circuit. The Chanel dark brown hair of Lourdina Westgrens couldn't be more different from the deep red hair of Mor Holstein. The place was filled of food shops, gift shops and trailers. The older one was carrying a plastic bag with something inside a styrofoam lunch box.

"I thought Toys 4 All was some of Charity. Something like 'We give toys to poor children, so all children will have the right to play.' The word 'all' makes me think about it" The younger girl said, looking to the Toys 4 All Main Stand.

"Not exactly, Mor. They're a toys company that also supports motorsports. When we entered paddock yesterday, my car hood was covered by teddy bears and other plush animals. Lions, dogs, unicorns, tigers, elephants and cats... When I asked, they said it was a courtesy from the sponsor. But I didn't see any toys in the cars of Licio and Andrew. That's utterly sexist! Oh how much I dislike those sexist Vassiyans. I already filed a complaint, and I'll have to add another one soon." Lourdina' feminism was inherent to her, heavy naturalized into her words and actions. "But it was no problem at all. I picked up a bag and packed them. All of the toys they gift me will be donated to an Orphanage."

"That's kind of you. But tell me, where are we going?" The red-haired girl asked.

"Lunch. I have some chicken croquettes to fry." She shook the bag and entered a small line in front of "We'll Fry It".

After some minutes, they had a lunchbox filled with fried croquettes. Lourdina asked, before start eating.

"So, what about that Bitten Heroes contract. Have you received Lanza e-mail about that event? They said you would be the best choice. For official purposes, you're still a pay-driver. Your father bought your place in F3 and Stellenbosch bought your place as reserve driver in NSSCRA. It also allows you to earn a nice prize from the Ministry for Sports. Soon after the event, you can choose to sign or keep as a pay-driver."

"Lanza sent me some photos of the 3D-model. It has some features of WGPC ones, but since they didn't know if this will be used since the event organizers hadn't clarified the specs. It may even be something completely impossible to assemble in too little time. I'm not confirming or denying it before the time. Also, I noticed Shizuko Mikado will be my team partner.

Ewww... That girl creeps me. Does she still retain that gothic lolita look and that delinquent aura? That's obvious why she was chosen. He never received a wage. Her father pays everything for her. - Lourdina also had a paying father for most of her racing life, but she never felt any proximity with the daughter of Seigen Mikado. "Anyway, dear. I wish you good luck. If I still was a pay-driver, I'd love to be there."
The Principality of Lisander, a sports loving, very highly developed nation in Astyria.
Disappointing people and missing deadlines since 2013.

Left-wing Utopia

A tourist and race fan's journey

Postby Jebslund » Thu Oct 25, 2018 2:20 pm

Catherine couldn't have been more excited. For years, she'd wanted a chance to visit Jebslund's subterranean citadel city, Kermania, and now she was finally getting the chance! She'd finally gotten the money together, and so the next step was to go!

Customs
Getting through customs was a bit intimidating, if fast and efficient, due to the fact that airport security were all soldiers. The fact that they were all armed gave airport security a rather serious air, despite the politeness of the Kerbals doing the checks, and the raptor packs sniffing for explosives/drugs along the mercifully short lines certainly didn't help with that. That said, the list of materials banned on the connecting flight from Verarbeitungsinsel to Dürrdürrwüste was far shorter than she'd expected, with most of it being outright weapons and, notably, no ban on liquids or other everyday things. The plane itself had uniformed soldiers every few rows, usually shooting the breeze with passengers, helping with bags, and generally being as pleasant as possible, thought it was notable that a man who had been scratching anti-Jebslund sentiments into the seat in front of him had been scowled at and provided a pen and a stack of sticky notes and curtly ordered not to damage the airline's property.

The flight itself was smooth and relatively short, though that didn't stop many of the passengers from ordering surprisingly affordable snacks and drinks on the way.

[To Be Continued]

Jebslund is a nation of kerbals ruled by Emperor Jebediah Kerman. We reject tyranny, believing that rights should be protected, though we also believe said rights end where the rights of others begin.
Shockingly, we *do* use NS stats, with the exception of lifespan.
Singular sapient: Jebslunder
Plural Sapient: Jebslunden
Singular/Plural nonsapient: Kermanic
Note: When a verb can logically only be done by the sapient using/piloting/holding the object in question, then the appropriate demonym for the number of sapients is used.

Capitalism, Socialism, and Communism are ECONOMIC SYSTEMS. Stop conflating them with political systems.

Toys '4' All 500, Lonngeylin Ring, Lonngeylin, Vilita :: Team Tropicorp's self-sponsored #28 machine has picked up external sponsorship for the Toys '4' All 500 from Turorian messaging and communication service twii.tur. It was widely expected that Cocoabo #78 would be the star of Team Tropicorps experimental NSSCRA 7 campaign with the Fast Cocoabo protege expected to receive Team Tropicorps only charter. However, when Team Tropicorp was awarded a second charter, there was great debate on what they would do with it. While they have been involved in discussions with multiple teams regarding the transfer or loan of their second charter, until the paperwork was finished Team Tropicorp would have to decide which of their two remaining drivers would get the seat. Team Tropicorp would have to use the charter or else it would be forfeited and couldn't then be sold.

Ultimately they decided that Cocoabo #28 would get the second charter while the engineer Euroli Islander would be forced to qualify on a race by race basis. The two were seen as competitive equals with minimal experience on track and low expectations. Through two races in the NSSCRA season, however, Cocoabo #28 has turned heads with solid performances in experimental and hand-me-down equipment for Team Tropicorp.

After Cocoabo #28 was once again the fastest of the three Team Tropicorp drivers in qualifying for the Toys '4' All 500, the team was able to secure additional funding from Turorian entity twii.tur and slapped the companies logo over top of the Tropicorp logo on the hood of the car, and added smaller twii.tur logos to the rear quarter panels and the trunk lid of the car.

It is the first time that either the #28 or #42 machines have had sponsorship other than being self-sponsored by Tropicorp Entities. The #78 of Cocoabo #78 is also effectively self-sponsored however the sponsorship is in the form of Cocoabo Park, a collaboration between Tropicorp and the Cocoabo Preservation Society. The #42 machine of Euroli Islander failed to qualify for the Toys '4' All 500 despite being faster in qualifying than the chartered Cocoabo #78 vehicle. It is the second time in three points events that Islander has failed to post a fast enough time in qualifying to advance to the race.

:: twii.tur

twii.tur is a short message communication service based in Turori allowing users to exchange content of 140 characters or less. The service originated as a way to allow officials to receive alerts and key information such as incoming weather notifications, major events and the ability to stay coordinated during a time of crisis but was under-utilized and doubts were raised as to whether the overhead of the infrastructure was worthwhile to maintain.

As capabilities of interconnected and handheld communication devices improved, the Turorian Weather & Information Interchange (Twii) was adapted into a public facing service where users could sign up to create their own twii nodes where users would sign up to a twii group to receive all the twii messages delivered by members of that group.

Ultimately, as demand grew, a fully public release of twii came at the connected location twii.tur where all users can participate in the public twii, selecting which messages to receive by adding individual users, groups or topics to their twii.tur feed. twii.tur has grown in popularity well beyond the Vilitan Cove and eventually would become the official Messaging & Communication partner of World Cup 81 in Banija & the Free Republics.

‭It wasn't a particularly great day for the Sherpa Empire's racers. Kai Qiang's 8th place finish moved him up a few places in the points standings, but that was the end of the good news. Liangmei Li continued to be disappointing, but the real disaster was a scary collision between Tsering Chu and David Land of Central Shanesville. Chu was coming down from high on the embankment on turn 4 and Land, coming around on the inside of the curve, crossed into her path. Chu's car was badly damaged and she had some nasty bumps and bruises. She would be okay, but she was very shaken.

‭To top it off, she had a couple of assignments due for the online courses she was taking at her college, she had already put them off till the last minute to make time for travel and practice laps and so on, and this was only going to make it harder to juggle everything. Yulha Sherpa College for the Deaf was allowing Chu and her crew to count their participation in NSSCRA toward their elective credits, and they were doing their other coursework online to accommodate their travels, but it was a lot to manage. Chu really didn't want to write code for her computer science class. She was sore from the crash and her mind was still on the race and the damage to her car. The professor was a real hard-ass, though, and had made a big stink at the beginning of the semester about how due dates were not negotiable, and it didn't matter why an assignment was late. He had told the class, "If something comes up and you're late turning in an assignment, you might still pass the class, but if you press your luck turning things in late because you think you can get away with it, and then something comes up, that's not my problem." Chu got her laptop out and tried to work on her homework, but mostly she just wound up staring at the screen. It just wasn't coming.

NSSCRA: GILLI'I WINS AT HOME
Polesitter Alvarez's day ends early with crash

by Ray Wright

LONNGEYLIN - For Vilita & Turori Motorsports, the Toys 4 All 500 at the Lonngeylin Ring is not just another NSSCRA (Nationstates Stock Car Racing Association) race, but a chance to show and prove their might in international motorsports. Track management poured in thousands of NSD to provide the public with as much entertainment as possible. For its part, the team itself spent not only a lot of its money but also its time to prepare its drivers for the race, and it showed. Defending champion River Suzgar (#14) had been unremarkable before the race, but had now gotten himself a respectable seventh-place finish. Centur Tiones, who drives the #2, was fourth. But most importantly, Yraaga Gilli'i held on for the win in front of his fellow countrymen. The margin of victory between his #41 and Jebslunder Eva Kerman's #13 was just 0.009 second. Third was Licio Granado (#9) of Lisander, while fifth behind Tiones was Team Cassadaigua's Stacie Houston in the #27 car.

Kanyean driver Jeremiah Brooke (#18) finished ahead of his Glorious Free Republic Motorsports teammates in tenth; he spoiled part-time driver Rockii Ezis' bid to put all four VTM drivers in the top ten by moving the #60 car out of the way in the last lap, forcing Ezis to settle for eleventh. Skip Stiller (#3), who started second to last, could only manage nineteenth. Thea Alvarez (#46) had the worst day of the GFR drivers. She started on pole, failed to protect her lead, fell behind, and wrecked along with Bryan Harrison (#5), eventually being classified forty-second, only ahead of the Newmanistani. The youngster's place in the driver points also took a hit, causing her to fall below the top sixteen (the size of the Chase field).

Alvarez led the first eleven laps of the race, but only barely. She could not break away from the field and was finally overtaken by Houston on Lap 12 after choosing the wrong line to stay on. "That track took a lot of getting used to", said the #46 driver in a post-race interview. She, like Harrison, appeared to be unhurt after their crash. "It looked easier in qualifying, that's how I got the pole. But with all of the other cars out there in the actual race, it got harder. I shouldn't have over-thought things. I messed up my thinking, and that's how I found the wall and skidded and hit the 5. By the way, Bryan, I'm sorry. That's not how I normally run."

Several other drivers challenged Houston for the early lead, with some of them succeeding, including Brooke. The battle between the 27 and 18 cars once again saw much screen time on Kanyean television. Stiller has made a huge charge from the very back and is now knocking on the top 15, while Alvarez kept losing positions and was reduced to popping in and out of the top 20. The VTM drivers took their familiarity with the track to their advantage, as they too moved up the field.

Later, Alvarez was running 17th, behind Stiller and Brooke, when she took a curve too fast. The #46 car made contact with the wall and was sent sliding down the track, right into the path of Harrison's #5. The front end of both cars were damaged. Alvarez waved to the fans after climbing out of the wreck, showing that she's fine. The caution resulting from the incident shuffled the field, putting Tiones and Suzgar at first and second. The two race winners so far, #90 driver Tsering Chu and #50 Ellie Lindskog, were also part of the front pack, among others. Stiller and Brooke were just outside the top 10.

The track proved not to be kind to foreign racers, as aside from Alvarez and Harrison, several other drivers were unable to finish the race. It didn't take long for Tropicorp's Cocoabo #28 to also be counted out. Then another crash, this time between Chu, and David Land (#91). The Lonngeylin Ring claimed three other victims in Adam Poboski (#98), Tom Bombelli (#16) and Shane Wray (#20), for a total of eight DNFs.

As promised, Brooke decided to treat himself to deep-fried Kratos Bars after the race, "Top ten. Good, but could be better. I also gave Thea some to cheer her up, and Stacie [Houston] just because we're friends. See you next week at the [Kermania] Fortress Run. We ran well there last season, and I'm hoping for the same. I'm more confident in running that event now, given how much my road course ability has increased", he told the Kibitzer. "Yes, but let's not forget who won that time: me", joked Stiller. Indeed, GFR's veteran booked his ticket to the Chase last season with a dominant performance at the Jebslunden track. "I know the focus and the pressure will be on me as I defend my win there. That's my motivation to do well there, so bring it on." The Kermania Fortress Run next week will be the official debut of GFR's limited schedule driver Philip West in the seventh NSSCRA season. "This is it. This will be the start. I'll try to get as many points as I can in as many races as they'll allow me", said the driver of the #19, who was also one of those credited with mentoring Brooke to improve at road courses.

All qualifying sessions and races will be broadcast live on SKYNET (Saint KanYe NETwork) Sports Channel 12, and online at nsscra.skynet.stk.

The following transcript is taken from the SKYNET Sports Channel 12 broadcast of the Toys 4 All 500, specifically, the incident between Thea Alvarez and Bryan Harrison. The commentators are Shaun Pitt and Carl Tanner, both former professional stock car drivers in St. Kanye.

(OOC: In the following GIFs, Kyle Busch (18 car) plays Alvarez, and Joey Logano (22 car) plays Harrison.)

VTM cars looking like they're in their element here, they know this track better than any of the ....
46 sideways, that's Thea Alvarez, the Yeezie!
Alvarez hits the wall, she's sliding down!
Bam! She hits another car!
That's the 5 of Bryan Harrison right there. These two started head and tail today. Caution is out.
Hope they're okay.

(about 30 seconds pass)

Alvarez climbs out of her car, and she's waving to the crowd, she IS okay.
But look at the damage on the 46, my goodness. And that other car ....
Let's take a break.

Schorebrook Returns To Top Ten

Former endurance driver Kev Schorebrook entered the Toys 4 All 500 5th in standings. The Vangazi has yet to win a race this season. He spoke of the pressure before climbing into his car. "We definitely need a win", Kev said while chewing Athletico brand bubble gum. "Until we can get one to fall, we need to chase the wild card."

Ellie Lindskog had stood 2nd in standings before the latest event. She won the season opener in Newmanistan's Tundra Falls 400. She was also hoping to stay relevant in early standings, although already qualified for the Chase. "Ellie set the bar for me and Floyd", Kev told reporters as he stood alongside his car at the Vilitan pit. "If she pulled a win, us others can too. We have to trust our machine."

The day was set to be exciting. Lonngeylin was a fast paced short track. Kev started 17th. Although his qualifying effort was terrible, the Vannish cars have a way of advancing up the field rapidly. The issue with Kev has been mid and late race strategy. The team has done well enough to keep Kev close to the top 5 as the race winds down. He's still had trouble breaking into that pack late in races.

"We're so close", Kev said before the race.

The first 100 miles were a serious dogfight for Kev. He made move after move. With this being a short track, everything seemed a little closer... A little louder. The field was tighter.

Ellie Lindskog had qualified 5th. She was having a tougher time with the short track. As she fell back, Kev found himself on her tail. Announcer Buddy Holidae of Vannish Sports Network called the race.

"And it's Lindskog on the inside of the corner." The sound of the engines whine down to an almost idling drone as the cars coast around the apex. "Schorebrook's trying to come around the outside. OH! And Lindskog closes him off." The engines pick up their bassy roar as the cars speed among the colorful pack. Ellie's car jets towards the outside wall to stop Kev's pass attempt.

"Here they come into the next turn. Kev on her tail Francis Furheart Sr on the inside." The engines wind down again for the corner. On the exit, Kev tries to pass Ellie on the outside right. Ellie blocks him again. "Kev just can't find any space", said the announcer. The machines streak loudly down the straight. When the cars enter the next corner, Furheart gains a little space.

This time, Kev tucks to the inside right behind Furheart. After drafting off the Ferret Lands' car, Kev had speed on exit. The ferret was less aggressive in holding his line.

"Three wide!" Buddy Holidae shouted into his broadcast microphone. On a short track, this was a risky move. Kev trusted that his Vannish Motors Hammerhead could outpower the Ferret's car after a draft.

"Now Lindskog's trying to race Kev. But Kev tucks in! It's Schorebrook ahead of Lindskog... Into the turn.. Down the home stretch!"

From there, Kev continued to gain spaces. He would end up 5th before mile 100 was over. He couldn't get past Eva Kerman. "Man. This woman is driving like she hates me", Kev said over the team radio.

His pit strategy would have Kev pit early in the next stretch. This saw him fall back for much of that stretch. Lindskog would climb past him on her run back into the top 10. She would clock the 200th mile 6th. Things were looking promising for her. Floyd was having a tougher time. When Kev clocked in 21st, Floyd was 2 spots behind in 23rd. The two Vangazi sandwiched Francis Furheart Sr. between them. The Ferret was looking for revenge on Kev.

Floyd would jump past both Kev and Francis on mile 234. Kev and the Ferret found themselves drafting off Kev. Schorebrook's crew chief came over the headset to say, "Stick with Floyd's pace. He's running well!" At this point, both cars had recently made pit stops. Their tires were fresh. This allowed both cars to reach the top 10 by mile 300.

Hackerbee seemed to turn around his luck. He found himself as high as 2nd. "It felt great to ride near the front of the pack", said Floyd. "To see that open space." The Vangazi never pushed for the lead. Instead, he coasted off the Sugar Shark.

Floyd stayed in the top 10 until mile 410. at that point, he started to fall. After pitting and changing his tires, he had lost a lot of position. His last stop was a sloppy one, with the group needing to redo one tire. "It was an unfortunate mishap", Hackerbee said after the race.

Schorebrook spent miles 300-400 back in the middle of the pack. His strategy had him pitting earlier than the others. This put him further towards the back than he could have been. "We're really trying to hone our strategy", Schorebrook said in a post race interview. "One day we'll get it to fall. Hopefully we'll have everything worked out by the Chase."

After the incident with Thea Alvarez and Bryan Harrison brought out a yellow flag, Ellie fell back after the restart. Kev kept his spot at 6th. He got past Ellie by tucking in behind Stacie Houston. The driver from Cassadaigua kept a tight grip on 5th as the checkered flag called the race complete.

Floyd fell to 17th, with Lindskog 20th. Neither driver seemed able to keep their time in the front for more than a short stretch. Schorebrook fought his way to another consistent finish at 6th. Kev sits 3rd at standings with 114 points. This keeps him relevant in the season, as he is chasing a wild card spot. Eva Kerman and Stacie Houston are also searching for their first win, ranked 1 and 2 ahead of him.

"We all know what we have to do", said Schorebrook. "It's time to race. The world is watching. This is what makes it exciting."

Vannish Motors Racing Joins Train Racing League In Publicity Stunt

"Sure. We know this league will probably not get off the ground", admits company spokesman Edgar Halvorsen. "We want the world to know that if the type of racing exists, you can expect to find Vannish Motors there." Halvorsen is Chief Product Officer of Vannish Motors - Sporting Division. He is also a brand manager for Vannish Motors Racing.

The Monarch Train Racing Series may be one of the most bizarre ideas ever to have been conjured into the multiverse. In a land called the Monarch Republic, there are apparently race circuits designed to support train racing. They have decided to stay away from the fields of auto and air racing, both of which feature international competitions. Instead, the Republic has cornered the market in racing locomotives.

Vannish Motors Racing called up Iskolde Railways, the Empire's largest railroad equipment manufacturer. They offered to help finance a locomotive. "Iskolde Rail wasn't into it at first" Halvorsen admitted. "We let them know that this event might not honestly get off the ground."

"It looks like somebody is going to get killed out there", shouted Regis Vilborn, an executive for Iskolde. "We stated we would only sign off on it if the international body certifies the league as safe and appropriate for international competition."

Safety concerns haven't stopped VMR from signing a potential "driver". Their choice? World Champion Jessica Franssen's younger gamer brother, Bernard Franssen. "Dude, I could totally drive a train", stated Bernie. "My favorite game is RailSimmLine '18. I know the exact way the controls work and affect the handling."

Franssen has moved to Auster, VNG where he can train full time with the railway's simulators. "It really is a lot like the game", Bernie said. "I'm transitioning already. I'll be ready by the season's start." Franssen won't be controlling the train alone. An experienced engineer will join him in the cab (and will likely actually be at the controls). Bernard is still being marketed as the face of the locomotive.

Iskolde Railways will be using the HSU-224-C 'Osprey' locomotive. The 13,100 hp train has a top speed of 197 mph. It has three major routes on the Mainland. It runs the East Coast from Blue Coast to Northton. It also goes from the capitol, halfway up the East Coast, out west. That route hits Emeros, Auster and Old Prairie to the Northwest. Another route goes from Emeros, southwest to Davenson and then to the far Southwest in South Stead. Aggressive marketing materials featuring both Iskolde Railways and the rail lines themselves have been put on display across commuter line billboards.

What does World Grand Prix Championships star Jessica Franssen think about her brother potentially racing? "I'm sure he's excited to even be called up for something like this. It sounds dangerous. I don't really want him to do it. But then again, my career is dangerous too." With a joke, she added, "Hopefully they'll find a strong female conductor to help guide him around the track."

All of this is being done for a league that will likely not get off the ground. Still, Vangazi stand ready to plant a flag for the Empire.

THE ROCKET REPORT

HARD CRASH FOR HARRISON

by Brianne Henry,

Two years ago, when the NSSCRA season began, we actually expected to be good at it. Rocket Motorsports seemed like they would be the team to beat, but that has simply never materialized. The team went through their inaugural season failing to send a driver to the chase. If it were not for a win by Shawn Curtis in the finale, they would be have been shut out entirely. Now, we move into year two, and we have not been contenders. It’s hard to figure out, though, because we are not doing poorly. We’re just not winning. We’re just not one of those nations who have proven that it is they who have the better stock car racing programs.

How do we solve this? Do you take out Ashley Matthews, currently 13th in points, over someone else? Ashley has not done anything wrong, necessarily, and is consistent. Consistent, in that “10-15" or “11-20" range. How about Shawn Curtis? He’s 8th in points, and has a win. No, it won’t be Curtis, and Matthews has done alright. Then, what about Bryan Harrison? Not him, either, as lest we forget he was our closest driver to making the Chase last year. This is a conundrum. Like that team in a professional sport who always makes the first round of the playoffs, and then loses. They are doing good, so you don’t tear it apart, but they are not doing bad enough to ever get that “early draft pick”. That is where Rocket Motorsports is. I really don’t know what to say in as far as getting us to be consistently better then those who have proven to be the elite teams. If I did, I would be a crew chief, not a journalist.

Those who watched the Toys ‘4' All 500 in Vilita know all about the wreck of Bryan Harrison. He had started at the tail end of the field, but was moving up. Then the polesitter, Thea Alvarez, who was dropping back, could not keep control of her car as she overdrove a corner. Alvarez spun out, and who was in the wrong place at the wrong time? That would be Harrison, and hard impact was made. Both drivers were checked in the infield care center immediately, per NSSCRA rules, and each seemed to be ok. Harrison told the Rocket Report about the accident, “I am only disappointed that we could not show the improvements we made from qualifying for a longer period of time. We were much better, and moving forward. Next thing you know, we have a destroyed race car.” Harrison went on, “They yelled for me to go low, and I did. It wasn’t meant to be. It’s a racing deal on a track like this. It is what it is. Not mad at Thea, but frustrated that we couldn’t continue to show how good we made this car.” He paused before concluding with, “On to Jebslund.”

Hampton Island Sports Brief

NSSCRA Going Poorly

Look at the point standings for NSSCRA, and see how long it takes to find a driver from Hampton Island. You have to go down a long way, as 37th place Alex Knight is the best out of any of them. How is this even possible? The Alex Knight we know at home is never out of the top 20, at worst, unless he wrecks or there is a major setup problem with his car. Kevin Cosgrove is the next to last driver in the points, and he has participated in all three races.

Here is the synopsis of our performances:
Alex Knight- Tundra Falls: 42nd (DNF) Grande Mountain: 32nd Lonngeylin: 33rd (third worst of cars that finished)
Kevin Cosgrove- Tundra Falls: 43rd (DNF) Grande Mountain: 38th Lonngeylin: 32nd: (fourth worst of cars that finished)
James McCurty- Tundra Falls: 23rd Grande Mountain: DNQ Lonngeylin: DNQ

Those stats suck. Did we piss off those Tundra Falls spirits? As much as a debacle as Tundra Falls was, we have not shown any progress. James McCurty has our only top 25, but still not quite finishing in the top half of the field. There is no talk about starting him in one of our guaranteed spots, as by not qualifying for the races in Cassadaigua or Vilita, he has not proven himself, either. Other options could see if we have a bear that can drive a car, but that is unlikely. Maybe we should have a chick driver. That seems to be working for some, as perhaps it keeps the male drivers motivated. Not sure if we have any worthy, but we can try and create one out of no where that does not deserve to be. That worked in a racing series I watched once, though she never did anything in a few years of driving for a good race team, though the man who ended up replacing her the year after was able to win in the same ride.

Cocoabo All Flocked up in Lonngeylin

Image

Toys '4' All 500, Lonngeylin Ring, Lonngeylin, Vilita :: Team Tropicorps's two racing Cocoabo had a rough day in Lonngeylin in the Toys '4' All 500. As the team's leading point-getter, Cocoabo #28 was looking for a strong performance at the Lonngeylin Ring to demonstrate they belonged in the conversation as an outside contender to qualify for the playoffs. Meanwhile, Cocoabo #78 was looking to prove that they were the best of Team Tropicorps two Cocoabo drivers, living up to the pre-season expectations when Team Tropicorp initially backed Cocoabo #78 as the teams primary driver and national charter designate.

Neither driver was particularly able to prove anything at the Lonngeylin Ring. Cocoabo #78 got into trouble during the first segment while struggling to handle their Cocoabo Park sponsored machine, Cocoabo #78 was holding up the #9 machine of Lisander's Lício Granado who eventually got into the Cocoabo in turn 2 sending the #78 car spinning up the track. While the damage was minimal to both cars from the accident, the flat tire from the spin did cause lingering issues the rest of the way for Cocoabo #78 who struggled to keep pace with the field and ultimately finished in the 28th position on account of other drivers attrition rates.

One of those drivers that failed to finish the race was Cocoabo #28. Cocoabo #28 had been running near the top 20 in another decent performance until a mistake in the 3rd segment, getting the left side wheels below the apron in turn 3 and 4 and hooking on to the grass sent the #28 machine straight up into the wall off Turn 4. As the #28 shot up the elevated banking at a sharp angle, climbing the hill as the racing line dropped in altitude around them, the impact sent the #28 machine climbing up the wall before the slowly rolling over onto its lid right in front of the fans in the front stretch grandstand. Other drivers had to take evasive action to avoid crashing into the uncontrolled and upside down #28 machine which came to a stop just short of the start finish line.

Cocoabo #28 needed assistance to get out of the car and was taken back to Cocoabo Park for observation and treatment after being seen in notable discomfort coming out of the car.

As a result, despite the unimpressive showing, Cocoabo #78 has passed Cocoabo #28 in the NSSCRA season standings. Cocoabo #28's status for the next event, the Kermania Fortress Run in Jebslund, was uncertain. However, with Cocoabo #78 having moved in front in the points and Cocoabo #28's status uncertain it seems likely that if a move is made regarding the Team Tropicorp charter that it is likely the charter of Cocoabo #28 that would be transferred.

The Kermania fortress run will be the first Road Course event of the season which both the Cocoabo were hoping to leverage their experience growing up and training at the Cocoabo Park Circuit. Meanwhile, Team Tropicorps unchartered driver the engineer Euroli Islander will hope to overcome the disappointment of failing to qualify at the Lonngeylin Ring by advancing to the main event in Jebslund.

Image Granado talks about the crash with Cocoabo #78. "Suzgar is the one to blame, not me"

Lício Granado, NSSCRA Driver of Team Dunneot, broke the silence about the events of third segment of last race, "Toys 4 All 500". While Team Tropicorp says he hit Cocoabo #28, he sustains another theory:

Image
The moment exactly before the crash.
"It's convenient for them to say that I was responsible. But I'm not the one to blame. I was between two Tropicorp cars We were battling for the 9th place. Cocoabo #78 started the turn earlier, and I would be the next, but I couldn't make that turn that way because I had to avoid a crash with Suzgar. Not sure what he had in his mind to go that late in the turn, but I'm not interested in being sandwiched. Suzgar is the one to blame, not me"

The fact is. Even if somewhat upset, Granado finished the race in third place, after being second in fourth segment. It's a great result for him, the best result for Lisander in this NSSCRA. Lourdina Westgrens also had a good time in the short-track of Lonngeylin, finishing third in the fourth segment and ninth in the final race. Andrew Holden, after a very irregular race, finished the race with a 22nd place.

NSSCRA Championship Table
1. #13 Eva Kerman (JEB) - 121
2. #27 Stacie Houston (CAS) - 116
3. #23 Kev Schorebrook (VNG) - 114
16. #7 Lourdina Westgrens - 84
20. #9 Lício Granado - 75
27. #32 Andrew Holden - 45
Next time, we'll see the Dunneot drivers at Kermania Fortress Run, in Jebslund, home of the new leader of the season, Eva Kerman, that has now 121 points after being the second in Toys 4 All 500. Between the Lisanderian drivers, Lourdina is the 16th, Granado is the 20th and Holden is the 27th. All of them are near the expectations of Turbo Magazine for the NSSCRA 8.

Houston Agitated After Lonngeylin,
by Chelsea Dufresne, Concord Heights Times

Up to this point, Stacie Houston has gave mostly diplomatic answers about her finishes.
No one had more second place results then Stacie did last year, and as we all know, she finished second in the point standings. She has given happy answers about top fives and top tens, but that was absent after the Lonngeylin Ring.

Houston had been a dominant car all day long: either leading, or running with the lead group. That has been a familiar sight for her fans, but an error in the second half of the race cost her a ton of track position. When she brought the car in to pit on a routine stop, the rear tire changer slipped and fell, bumping into the jackman, forcing them to lose their grip on the jack. While they recovered as quickly as possible, valuable track position was lost, and Houston was now out of the top 25. Her crew chief apologized on behalf of the pit road miscue, but the silence on the other end of the radio was deafening. Normally, you would hear Stacie respond with a, “That’s alright, we’ll get ‘em back!”, but that was no where coming from her. Laps went by, with nothing but dead silence on the radio. Her crew chief gave way, realizing that Stacie was upset, and simply just went back to rolling off lap times. When it came time for her final stop, Stacie finally broke her silence. “Don’t fuck this one up!” she exclaimed over the radio. Houston had worked hard and passed cars to get back inside the top ten. Stacie was not told to calm down, since she did not say anything more then that, and this time, the crew gave her a good stop. Houston would finish day in the fifth position.

After the race, she parked her #27 Five Star Mobile machine into the pit stall, got out of her car and angrily threw her gloves back into the car. She appeared to accept the apology of the crew at this point, but in her post race interview, she let her opinion be known. “We could have won Grande Mountain, but couldn’t put the complete race together. Had the one damn bad segment in that race, and had to settle for another second place. Here, we were rolling. Cruising out there, look at our times in all of the recorded segments expect for that damn one we made the mistake in. We could have won this race, too.” After a pause, Stacie relented a little, “You know, I realize my team has a tough job. Accidents and miscues happen. It’s a tough sport and a very competitive sport. We were the best car on the track today. The best car, yes. And the best car finished fifth. That’s why I am upset. We’ll get it all together, but we are better then we are showing.” When it was mentioned to Stacie that they are still second in points, she replied, “We should be first.”

Meanwhile, Meghan Sharpe piloted the #4 Spacebook Machine to a 13th place finish, and she sits ninth in points. She’s off to a similar start as she was last year and has told us that they too, want to win, “This is a race team capable of winning. We don’t want to be known as that good driver who does not know how to win.” Jenna Logan ran 24th, and is 21st in the points. This continues the trend of last year of Cassadaigua having one great driver, one good driver, and one not that good driver. At least we stay consistent with that.

Ezis Standing by for Kermania Fortress Run

Image

Rockii Ezis and the #60 CoCoCo Dart finished 11th in Lonngeylin
Kermania Fortress Run, Kermania Citadel, Jebslund :: Vilita & Turori Motorsports development driver Rockii Ezis will be on standby along with his #60 CoCoCo machine waiting for word on whether paperwork has been completed between Team Tropicorp and Vilita & Turori Motorsports to secure a charter for the #60 car to become a regular driver on the NSSCRA 7 circuit.

Team Tropicorp are reportedly extra motivated to move the charter after Cocoabo #28 was injured in an incident at the Lonngeylin Ring in Vilita. The #28 machine flipped over on the front stretch of the course after Cocoabo #28 shot up the turn 4 banking and up the wall in front of the main grand stand. It was likely the impact more than the flip that is rumored to have resulted in an injury to one of the Fast Cocoabo trainee's claws.

It is believed that Cocoabo #28 may still report to Jebslund and attempt the race but Team Tropicorp officials would rather the Cocoabo rest and recuperate following the event to ensure that they are putting their best team out on the race track when the circuit makes it to the Tropicoast Beach Course in Round 8.

Over the three completed races thus far Cocoabo #28 has accrued 41 points while Rockii Ezis collected 33 points just for their performance at the Toys '4' All 500, the first race of the season for the #60 car. Now Vilita & Turori are looking to work with Team Tropicorp to either have the #28 car's charter transferred permanently to the #60 machine or, if the paperwork can not be finalized, to ensure Ezis is available on standby to drive in place of Cocoabo #28 for Team Tropicorp. One way or another, Ezis's #60 race car would be required as the modifications to the car required to allow the Fast Cocoabo trainees to pilot the vehicle make it improbably for a Citizen driver such as Ezis to pilot the machine.

The Kermania Fortress Run is expected to be a strong event for the Vilita & Turori Motorsports team as it was in Jebslund during NSSCRA 6 where Vilita & Turori really turned their season around putting a strong performance highlighted by Yraaga Gilli'i's runner-up performance.

The ride to Kermania
Not much of note happened on the road to Kermania. Truly, if you've been on one Greyhound (or, in this country, Blauerköter, which had an adorable image of a blue-furred puppy emblazoned on its buses), you've been on them all. Much more notable was the fact that it had been designed to defeat any method of gauging the distance between Dürrdürrwüste and Kermania. There was no visible odometer in the bus (and, in fact, no visible driver or speedometer), the windows seamlessly transitioned from showing the scenery outside to showing stock road footage, GPS was blocked, and the bus went underground well away from the city proper, and event he time couldn't be relied on with the bus changing speeds and directions often. Asking the locals about it lead to non-committal answers, one of the few times tourists were simply not told what they wanted to know.

Kermania proper

The underground citadel of Kermania was built in such a way that no part of the city could see the entire city except the central fortress. None of the central government buildings was accessible from the civilian sector without a permit, which Catherine had not applied for, so there would be no visiting that area, but what she did see was a subterranean city lit by a series of bright lights overhead which turned on and off to mimic the movement of the sun (as seen in Jebsheim, the former capitol), including a series of smaller lights that simulated moonlight during nighttime hours. Trees, interestingly enough, grew at every intersection (which themselves were designed as roundabouts), all fruit-bearing, and the hard rock of the city ground had been paved over to form roads, each and every one with rain gutters to each side, a fact Catherine found odd until the news in her hotel room stated that city officials had planned a light rain starting at 1500 and ending at 1630. Further reading noted that the city had an underground (relative to the city) reservoir of water that was used for irrigation and weather simulation. The buildings were what one would typically expect of a city, if much more heavily armored and well-built to resist both attacks on the city and cave-ins, despite the latter having been rendered insignificantly more likely than outright impossibility through engineering to hell and back and back again for tea, and Catherine found it interesting that it was easier to count the number of locals who *weren't* armed to the bone.

As to the food, Catherine was amazed to find that food from just about any country she could think of could be found in Kermania, and restaurants were one of the more common businesses in the city. The observation rooms for the Kermania Fortress Run, as well as the stands by the starting row, were located in a "food district" where virtually everything but the emergency services buildings was a restaurant. The observation rooms were like comfortable theatres, with screens showing the races in such detail that it was like a window into reality, with recliner chairs and trays made to hold mountains of food if the occupant was so inclined, which could be ordered at the press of a button. The stadium itself had similar chairs and trays, and the concessions area was absolutely enormous, with foods from around the world in addition to typical Kermanic stadium fare.

We're #1!
Tanker storms the NSSCRA line, takes point in standings.

Racing fans have reason to celebrate indeed today, folks! 2nd place in the Toys "4" All 500 and tops spot on the standings goes to Schnellezeichnung, who, sadly, couldn't be reached for comment due to training for the Kermania Fortress Run next week, which yours truly will most definitely be attending. From 29th place, our intrepid tanker drove her way into 2nd, against all odds, to put her in 1st place pointswise by 5 points. While it's certainly nice to be at the top of the standings, the battle is far from won, so it's no surprise Schnellezeichnung is choosing to forgo the partying in favor of being prepared to defend her lead. It's definitely what I'd do! You keep on keeping on, Schnellezeichnung, and hopefully, we'll see you in the winner's circle at the end!

Speaking of winners, Die Sportler had been planning on running a contest to allow one lucky winner the opportunity to race in the Kermania Fortress Run, but the promotions department couldn't get approval from track or NSSCRA officials. Sad news, I know, but there is a glimmer of hope: Track officials have approved a ride-along on a non-race day, so I'm proud to announce this year's Glücklicherfan contest! All you have to do to enter is send in a short story (no more than 5000 words, please) of anything you like related to stock car racing. The winning story will earn you a ride-along with any driver not participating in NSSCRA, or, if you're willing to wait until after the series, any driver you want, on the Kermania Fortress Run track, at full speed. 15 runners up will get free tickets good for any race on Kermanic soil.

Today's featured Imbissmeister is Welpenbehandelt! No, they're not literal dog treats. These crunchy crackers are just shaped like 'em, and come in all the flavors you'd expect a good snack to, and even a few you wouldn't (seriously, I'm munching on a bag of bratwurst-with-the-works flavor right now. They actually taste like stadium brats with all the necessities!). Even better, you can get 'em at any of the concessions areas during the Kermania Fortress Run. Mention me, and you'll get two for the price of one first time you buy on race day!

Writing for the Sportler, this has been Eva Kerman wishing you a lucky season!

Conspiracy Corner - Cocoabo Injury

Welcome to the most 'out there' segment of Imperial Motorsports Magazine. In this segment, we take a look behind the curtain at what's really happening in the racing world. As we all know, there is more to the multiverse than we realize. This is true with things like hidden archaeology and forbidden technology. It's also true in the world of international sports. Racing is no exception.

NSSCRA 7. Every team gets somewhere between 2-3 cars depending on how much time they've invested in the sport. New teams may have to qualify onto the field, but numbers are similar. Teams are allowed to bring a 4th driver. This role is officially titled a development spot.

Some teams are competitive in trying to find a charter. GFR executives are often searching for the next spot, pushing for race after race. Other teams use the spot for exhibition. Vannish Motors Racing is using the spot to showcase their WGPC driver. She'll be limited to two races and is rendering herself ineligible for the Chase.

"It would feel hollow to use the 4th spot to give the team another shot at the Cup", Franssen told me in a phone conversation. "I have faith in drivers like Floyd, Ellie and Kev. If they can't get it done, it's just not the Vangazi's time."

Skip to the Toys 4 All 500. Rockii Ezis completed his first charter successfully at 10th. If VTM was going to capitalize on this, they would need to act quickly. But surely this wasn't preplanned. This was just the result of the wreck that flipped the #28 car upside down.

It only takes a look at some of the first Vilitan media released about NSSCRA 7. In it, they mention strong interest in getting Ezis a permanent charter. "Vilita & Turori are working behind the scenes to secure an additional charter for Ezis", wrote VTM in a press release. The saying in the conspiracy world is 'follow the money'. In the same article, its stated that having only 3 charters is "not an ideal situation as Rockii Ezis and the CoCoCo sponsorship dollars remain without a charter."

This means that not only is another shot at the Chase at stake. Lots of money relies on getting Cocoabo out and Ezis in. This brings up the conspiracy part of the scenario. Is Cocoabo really hurt bad enough to miss the rest of the season? it appears so, as Ezis is ready to transfer to a Tropicorp funded charter to run full time. Of course, this would give Vilita proper four cars on the field for every race. The relationship between VTM and Tropicorp allows such a move to proceed, almost unimpeded.

The accident also allows Ezis to run back to back races. This is at a time when the league's governing body is paying close attention to how many charters each team runs. It appears VTM has figured out a way around this for Rockii Ezis.

But does the story end here? Would VTM be satisfied with 4 full time charters? Can we look to Vilitan media for clues on future moves? "If a charter can be obtained for Ezis, then veteran driver iBen Toralmintii may return for select races in the #77."

This means we may one day see a race when VTM fields five cars and Tropicorp fields three. This comes at a time when certain new teams are lucky to have two cars qualify. The Chase is a touchy format. There is a fine line between strategy and gamesmanship. With the ways the odds work for each race, extra cars will give extra chances for advancement.

"After speaking with the managers for VMR NSSCRA and my pit chief", said Jessica Franssen. "We decided it would be best to keep my races on an exhibition level. Using the charter for a playoff spot just isn't the kind of publicity Vannish Motors wants. If other companies want a few extra shots, it's no big deal."

Jessica will make her NSSCRA debut in the event after the upcoming Kerbania Fortress Run. It will be time for the Blue Coast 400. After that, the race for the weekly charter returns when the circuit hits the Ferret Lands. The major players will certainly make a play for the spot. It remains to be seen if the league will allow Ezis a third charter and beyond.

Floyd laid across the sofa in his lodging. Jebslund had turned out to be quite the unique place. A bus had taken the drivers into an underground sanctuary where the Kerbania Fortress Run would take place. The truth was that he was feeling creeped out. His cell phone didn't have coverage here, but there was a landline in his room.

Floyd quickly called up the number to Ellie's room. After the phone rang a few times, Ellie picked up. "Hello?" Her voice sounded nervous. She wasn't sure who would be calling her room. Floyd would have stopped by, but as a guy he didn't feel comfortable just barging into her room at this time of night.

"Hey, El", said Floyd. "I'm freaking out. I keep looking outside... 'Outside'... And I just see lights. It's not normal."

"Dude. This is some freaky, paranoid stuff", Ellie said about the city. "That bus ride? They think there's a chance random tourists might be spies."

Floyd laughed. "That's Kev's character, remember?" Floyd reminded Ellie of a comedy skit that poked fun at the NSSCRA drivers. "No it's like.. Should we be worried? Who have these Kerbals ticked off so badly, that they have to hide in caves? And are their enemies coming to attack this place any time soon?"

Ellie laughed at Floyd. He was always dramatic. "Don't talk about them" Ellie said with restrained laughter. "You know they're listening on the phone."

"Ahh!" Floyd was nervous. She was probably right. He wanted to change the subject badly. "So. My publicist reviews international media. Sounds like you've made an enemy in Hampton Island."

"Where is that?" Ellie had never heard of the place. In the world of international sports, that land had yet to make a mark or even a memory.

"I have no idea", said Floyd. "They race against us though. You know Cosgrove?"

"The one who keeps bringing out yellow flags?" Ellie thought back to the first race. "I guess he helped me win in Newmanistan. But man. These cautions."

"That last short track race was pretty clean", said Floyd. "Anyway. So there's this gossip mag from Hampton Island that's taking cheap shots at female drivers. He said you guys exist just to motivate the males on your team."

Ellie cracked up laughing so hard, she almost dropped the phone. She crouched forward and her back rose and fell as her lungs drew in huge amounts of air. "Well, gossip mags need to find something to write about."

Floyd was glad she took it with so much humor. "I guarantee they want you to talk about what they said."

Ellie got a little loud. "Why, so a real newspaper can write about what they wrote? No thanks. It's just a marketing ploy for attention."

"The multiverse is a different place than whatever country they come from. Wait until they hear about women in combat sports."

Ellie laughed thinking about fighting women, even from places outside of Vangaziland. "Well, let them feel that way", Ellie said with a smirk. "This season, and the sporting world in general, will be a frustrating place for them. Ellie thought about the hardball all-women teams from Newmanistan and Cassadaigua. She thought of Sarah Overson's big playoff game to help the Royals win an International Basketball Championship.

"The minute the drivers from Hampton emulate some of the successful women they see, the moment their drivers' luck will change", Floyd was starting to feel better after the talk. He'd gotten all wound up. "Well anyway.. I don't want to keep you up. I just wanted to tell you about that."

Ellie laughed. "Alright Floyd", she said with a grin. "Nice qual sesh. Good luck tomorrow. Night."

"Thanks", Floyd replied. "Same to you. Sleep well. G'nite." He hung up. Well, that went well. He enjoyed talking to Lindskog, but he wasn't going to crowd her space. He knew Kev liked her too. It might be better to avoid the drama overall. Besides, he had the most dynamic hair in motorsports since Jason Masami. There were other fish in the pond.

Floyd was feeling a little sleepy, even though it was early. He moved back to his bedroom and laid down. It had been an eventful day on the track. His car was dialed in. It helped him earn the pole position. His stomach tightened a little as he though of the pressure starting 1st would place on him. This wasn't the WGPC. The field moves around much more often. Starting at the front is nice. Race management is 72% more important. Lindskog had just as much of a chance from 5th. The field was so mobile, there was even a chance that Kev Schorebrook could be the top finishing Vannish car. This is despite his start at 30th.

Hackerbee pretended he was back home in Vangaziland as he closed his eyes. The closer to reality his thoughts of home became, the further he drifted towards sleep. Soon he was out, snoring quietly in a dark, underground room.

Interest in Stock Car Racing

After repeats of decent finishes started to drive people away from the sport, many came flocking back to qualifying when it was spread around that Yael Erwann was in his first race after passing the qualifier at the Kermania Fortress Run. Many flocked to the televisions to re-watch his qualifier, along with Gael and Mael. People claimed to be tuning in for this weekend.

Also we have an interview from the last Toys 4 All 500 with Gael and Mael
Reporter = Red
Gael = Blue
Mael = Green\

"So congratulations on finishing today, not the best it could've been, but you two ran alongside eachother the whole time didn't you?

Together: ""We did." "We did, yeah."

"Do you think you two will have success later on, you guys have been getting better and better."

"Well that is what you ask us every week for every race."

"It'll just be a matter of what happens later on."

"Alright well I hope your cars improve and we get to the front of the pack this year then." "Thank you for your time."

Now we have an interview with Yael Erwann after his successful qualifier to put him in a race for the first time in the series.

Reporter = Red
Yael = Yellow

"Yael, how does it feel to pass the qualifier and make it into a race finally."

"It feels great, I am glad that we worked hard on this car and came home with a successful qualification into this race."

"Do you think you can continue this up for future races."

"Of course, as long as the team works hard and I work hard with what they gave me in my car, we'll be a competitor in this series."

"Thank you for your time Gael."

That is all, and we wish the B-N-A racers good luck this time at the Kermania Fortress Run.

It was disappointing, qualifying 12th after her 2nd-place finish in the Toys "4" All 500. Although Eva knew her lackluster finish wasn't indicative of her finish in the scored race, given the other races, it was a reminder to her that to slack off would be her undoing in the NSSCRA series. She'd finished 2nd by a combination of luck and skill, and she was beginning to suspect she was one of those who did better under pressure, and that drove her to put all she had into preparing for the scored race. Practice laps, studying her footage (thank goodness the Kermania track had cameras enough to get an unbroken video of her qualifying performance from almost every useful angle), even reviewing the footage from NSSCRA 6, nothing was beneath her, and her pit crew, she knew, was doing the same level of preparation. Food runs were alternated between the members of the pit crew as they pulled practice schedules with just enough downtime to get decent sleep in a bid to improve even a little bit.

NSSCRA7 - Race 3 - Lonngeylin

Vilita & Turori find Victory Lane in Lonngeylin

Toys '4' All 500, Lonngeylin Ring, Lonngeylin, Vilita :: Vilita & Turori Motorsports collected their first victory of the NSSCRA 7 campaign and their first ever NSSCRA victory on home soil as Yraaga Gilli'i came out of nowhere to stun the field and claim their first ever NSSCRA checkered flag in the Toys '4' All 500.

It looked for large stretches of the event that it would be another Vilita & Turori entry, the #2 Tiones Lumber Dart driven by Centur Tiones, that would be navigating their way to victory lane at the end of the race. Instead, however, it was Gilli'i who had saved the most Tires and Brakes over the final segment to come from outside the top 5 and lead the final 17 laps of the race en route to victory and a locked in place in the NSSCRA chase. Despite the disappointment of failing to win the race, Centur Tiones put in yet another strong performance with their second Top 5 in three events thus far giving the Tiones Lumber driver a head start in the drivers point standings where they currently sit in the fourth position.

The series now moves on to Jebslund for the Kermania Fortress Run, the first Road Course event of the season and a race that Vilita & Turori Motorsports performed very well at during NSSCRA 6.

Centur Tiones was once again the most dominant performing of the [s]three[/s] four Vilita & Turori Motorsports cars on the track at the Lonngeylin Ring as the driver of the #2 Tiones Lumber Dart seemed on track to collect their second career NSSCRA victory and first on home soil. After starting the race in the 13th position Tiones quickly rose through the pack working their way up to the third position by the first segment marker. Tiones would then work past Stacie Houston and Jeremiah Brooke to take the lead which he would hold for about 100 laps when an unscheduled pitstop shortly after the completion of a pit cycle put the #2 team in a hole and gave the lead to teammate River 'Shark' Suzgar. Tiones fought hard to get back on the lead lap then showed great poise and speed to get all the way back to the lead in great position to win the race. However, as the evening wore on, the rest of the field started to gain on Tiones speed and a late duel between Tiones, Houston, points leader Oberst Eva Kerman and Lisanders Licio Granado allowed Tiones Vilita & Turori teammate to catch the leaders and pass them having seemingly used less tires and brake over the course of the evening and having more in the tank at the end to steal the victory from those who might have fought the hardest for it. Tiones led the most laps but finished fourth in the race.

Centur Tiones currently also sits in the fourth position in the NSSCRA drivers standings with 111 points and is just 10 points behind the leader Oberst Eva Kerman. Looking ahead to the circuits next event, Tiones finished in 10th place at the Kermania Fortress Run during NSSCRA season six which was the Turorian drivers first Top 10 of the points paying season. Tiones qualified for that race 9th while this season, with qualifying having been recently completed, Tiones will start the race in Jebslund from the 11th position.

:: WINS: [ 0 ] :: TOP 5: [ 0 ] :: TOP 10: [ 1 ] -:- POLES: [ 1* ]

Naturally as the title sponsor of the Toys '4' All 500, Lopinka, Vilita based Toys '4' All also made their debut on the hood of the #14 machine of defending NSSCRA champion River 'Shark' Suzgar at the Lonngeylin Ring in round 3 of the NSSCRA championship season.

After struggling through the first two events of the NSSCRA 7 campaign after a pole position in the Exhibition at Tundra Falls, River 'Shark' Suzgar II and the Vilita & Turori #14 team were looking for a strong performance in one of their sponsors home race. After starting the race in the 6th position Suzgar dropped back as the team had set the car up for longer runs in the middle of the event. As the car started to come around just as the team had predicted, Suzgar finally made it to the top of the chart leading at the races halfway point. Suzgar would only lead for about 70 laps before fading back into the bottom end of the top 10, eventually finishing in the 7th position. Despite the top 10 finish, Suzgar was the lowest finishing of the three full time Vilita & Turori Motorsports drivers in the race and currently sits well outside the Top 16 in the series standings with 61 points.

Suzgar was also the lowest finishing of the three Vilita & Turori drivers who contested the Kermania Fortresss Run during NSSCRA Season 6 which marked the final time during the 17 race campaign that the #14 was the lowest finishing Vilita & Turori driver. Suzgar will start this seasons race in Jebslund from the 19th position, four positions lower than they qualified (15th) during NSSCRA Season 6.

Yraaga Gilli'i :: #41 Tropicorp Racing Supply Dart
Image

:: WINS: [ 1 ] :: TOP 5: [ 1 ] :: TOP 10: [ 2* ] -:- POLES: [ 0 ]

After completing the 6th NSSCRA season as the only full time Vilita & Turori Motorsports driver to not find their way to Victory Lane, Yraaga Gilli'i finally took home their first ever Checkered Flag at the Toys '4' All 500 at the Lonngeylin Ring. Gilli'i seemed far from the best of even the Vilita & Turori Motorsports drivers in the field after qualifying in the 30th position for the race but slowly and methodically Gilli'i worked their way through the field and settled in for a comfortable day running in the 7th-15th place for almost the entirety of the event and looked poised to collect their first points-paying top 10 finish of the season. However, with approximately 50 laps to go Gilli'i started knocking on the door of the top 5 seeming to have been better able to keep pace as other drivers began slowing due to worn tires or worn brakes. Gilli'i gained on the leaders as they jockeyed for position and with 20 laps to go made a big move from 5th to 2nd, then just two laps later passed teammate Centur Tiones to take the lead and hold on leading only the last 17 laps of the race but celebrating their first ever NSSCRA race victory.

The win is Gilli'i's first win in 20 NSSCRA points paying events and should guarantee their place in the NSSCRA chase. Gilli'i and the #41 team now move on to the next event, the Kermania Fortress Run in Jebslund and the home of Yraaga Gilli'i's best prior finish in the NSSCRA, a runner-up finish from the event one season ago. The #41 Tropicorp Dart will start the Kermania Fortress Run in 17th place as Gilli'i continues to struggle on pole qualifying day. While the Kermania Fortress Run is expected to be a strong event for Gilli'i, it will be interesting to see how their strategy and level of aggression changes with the #41 locked into a place in the NSSCRA chase.

Rockii Ezis :: #60 CoCoCo / Coco-Mart Dart
Image

:: WINS: [ 0 ] :: TOP 5: [ 0 ] :: TOP 10: [ 0 ] -:- POLES: [ 0 ]

After having not competed in any of the first three scheduled NSSCRA events, Rockii Ezis was amped up and ready to go when he finally was able to get behind the wheel for the Toys '4' All 500 at the Lonngeylin Ring. Ezis was perhaps over-amped as they went out into their qualifying laps and completely blew Turns 1 and 2 on both of their qualifying laps relegating the #60 CoCoCo machine to a 33rd place starting position and setting Ezis up for a long hard day of work.

It would be hard work indeed but Ezis would make their way through the pack and making it into the Top 10 by the mid-way point of the race, demonstrating to themselves that all of the preparation was really paying off and, perhaps more importantly, demonstrating to the sponsors and to the Vilita & Turori Motorsports team that Ezis was a competitive driver worth sticking their neck out for.

Ezis would narrowly miss out on the Top 10 at races end after watching a hotly contested battle in front of them between Kai Qiang, Lourdina Westgrns and Jeremiah Brooke. Despite not finishing in the Top 10 it was still a strong day for Ezis in spite of the slow start that may have been attributed to not being on the track with 42 other vehicles at any other point this season. It also demonstrated that Ezis was a driver who could still contribute and was still improving - having scored just one top 10 finish in seven appearances on the NSSCRA 6 circuit, the team decided to send the #60 equipment and driver to the Kermania Fortress Run as they continued negotiations with Team Tropicorp surrounding the teams second charter. With Cocoabo #28 having been injured in an accident at the Lonngeylin Ring, Team Tropicorp agreed to allow Vilita & Turori Motorsports use of the charter while Cocoabo #28 recuperated and recovered back in the Cocoabo Forest. While the decision was met with some questioning whether Cocoabo #28 was truly injured enough to miss out on the trip to Jebslund, a statement from Team Tropicorp ensured that while they could have risked further injury by sending Cocoabo #28 back in the car, as they are a strictly developmental and experimental effort it was not worth risking the health of their future driver. Vilita & Turori Motorsports, meanwhile, are still operating a far more slim operation than they had during NSSCRA 6 when they fielded as many as six chartered vehicles in a single event during the Vilaye Energy Drink 314.

FROM THE NSSCRA COMMISSIONER'S OFFICE:
Re: Cocobo #28 injury

It has come to our attention that the injury sustained by Team Tropicorp driver Cocoabo #28 will sideline the driver for some time. This announcement came on short notice, and we are allowing the charter for the #28 to be transferred to Vilita and Turori, and the #60 driver for the Kermania Fortress Run. We wish them a speedy recovery.

Going forward, however, if Cocobo #28 is unable to return to the cockpit, the second Tropicorp charter will be awarded to the #42 ride, presently held by Euroli Islander, as that was a declared driver for this race team. Islander will therefore, not be subject to having to qualify into the field. Tropicorp may sell its third charter to Vilita and Turori for the #60, but that ride will be subject to the need to qualify in, as had been the case for Euroli Islander, previously.

Scene: Shellshock Batteries Boardroom

A Marketing Executive and the Company CEO have a discussion (CEO quotes in bold)

“Boss, I have a great idea. There are only two bidders for NSSCRA pole naming rights. Let’s bid, I have the numbers here.”

“We are already sponsoring the 22.”

“Here me out, it would be a great idea. The Shellshock Pole. Doesn’t that become music to your ears.”

“I am still trying to get over the fact that we had two drivers DNF at Tundra Falls due to battery failure. Our batteries.”

“They only were listed as mechanical reasons. No one knows it was for battery failure, other then the race teams themselves.”

“It was still an embarrassment. Simply firing the right people that were involved was not enough. We have to live with that.”

“Anyway, let’s sponsor this. There are only two other bidders, neither of them have anything to do with motorsports.”

“Who are the companies?”

“Some energy drink out of Vilita. Vilaye, never had it.”

“Me neither, what’s the other one.”

“A social media platform from Cassadaigua called MyFace. No, that was Lisander. Cassadaigua’s is Spacebook. Easy to confuse.”

“Never heard of either of them. You have a point, neither of them have a racing connection.”

“So here is all I think we’ll need to do it.”

“That’s too much for one year.”

“Actually, that was for one race.”

“Are you out of your mind?! Sponsoring the car is enough.”

‭Kai Qiang and his crew somehow persuaded Tsering Chu and her crew to visit ‬Die Glückliche Ratte together. Chu missed about an hour of practice time after she tried a Jet-Auspuff flavor rat and could not wash the spicy flavor out of her mouth. Kai Qiang and Mendok Sherpa liked the spice and could not understand what the problem was.

Liangmei Li wandered by and asked, "You have the money to eat whatever you want. Why are you eating rats?"

"I just wanted to try them," said Qiang. "This wasn't here last year."

"If they open a new restaurant that serves horse dung, will you try that too?"

"Is there a reason why you keep passive-aggressively sticking your nose in my business?"

"You're funny when you're mad," said Li. She tossed her long silky hair and sashayed away, allowing them to get back to eating their rats.

"Why is she so obnoxious?" said Mendok.

"She thinks she's better than other people," said Qiang.

"She's not even Sherpa..." Mendok scoffed.

"One of her few redeeming features," Qiang said, only partly joking.

"Everyone knows Sherpas are the highest of all the human races," Mendok said in the same mocking, but only partly joking way.

"I hope you're talking about elevation above sea level," said Qiang.

Mendok groaned. "Oh, durrhurr, like I never heard that one before!"

‭The Sherpa Empire's racers all had good qualifying times on the Kermania Fortress Run and they were optimistic about their chances in the next day's race. Li cared that she had finished ahead of the other two, and she made the most out of her time in front of the cameras when Beihua interviewed her, but Qiang and Chu weren't bothered about their own results. All of them had finished in the top 10 and were in a good position.

‭It was a weird track, the complete opposite of the tracks they were used to back home. Where most of the tracks in the Chinese Territories were rough and open, the Kermania Fortress Run was very solid and closed-in. It made them feel a little claustrophobic, but they had done their due diligence to get familiar with it during practice sessions.

NSSCRA: WEST BACK FOR FORTRESS RUN
Hackerbee gets pole in Jebslund; Ezis return sparks controversy

by Hastur Barreras

KERMANIA CITADEL - Philip West, part-time driver for Kanyean race team Glorious Free Republic Motorsports, finally gets a chance to put points on the board in the Kermania Fortress Run, the fourth points race in the seventh NSSCRA (Nationstates Stock Car Racing Association) season. West's #19 Chadwick C-1000, which is painted in the bold black and red colors of popular Kanyean booze brand Blood Moon Beer, will start in the thirteenth position. Teammates Thea Alvarez (#46 Multiversal Automotive Coatings Chadwick), defending event winner Skip Stiller (#3 QED Car Rentals Chadwick) and Jeremiah Brooke (#18 Hyde Medical Group Chadwick) qualified seventh, ninth and twentieth, respectively. "Thanks to GFR for this opportunity to run and hopefully do well in my favorite kind of track, alongside my fellow Kanyean drivers and friends", said West.

Vannish racer Floyd Hackerbee put the #75 Humboltson Hotels VM on pole for the Fortress Run with a blazing qualifying run that was the only time recorded below 55.4 seconds. Sherpa driver Liangmei Li (#88) sits beside Hackerbee on the front row. Other notables include the first two winners of the season Ellie Lindskog and Tsering Chu, in the #50 and #90 cars respectively, together in the third row; Kai Qiang (#44) qualifying eighth beside rumored girlfriend Alvarez just behind the two winners; Yael Erwann (#94) of BNA, in his first successful attempt to make a race, in the sixteenth row; and Francis Furheart Jr. (#56) and his father Francis Sr. (#55) behind Erwann.

Rockii Ezis, driver of the #60 CoCoCo Dart for Vilita & Turori Motorsports, is also in the field, starting thirtieth. Ezis was listed was VTM's part-time driver, but was somehow allowed by the NSSCRA administration to fill in for Team Tropicorp's injured Cocoabo #28. This move, as well as VTM's ongoing attempt to buy the #28 charter, was not popular with many. "VTM trying to get a bigger share of the field, I knew it was gonna happen when Tropicorp's team came in", wrote user Stacemiah2718 in the Kibitzer's online NSSCRA forum. A future race could potentially include five VTM cars, if Ezis successfully qualifies and the team puts Ben Toralmintii in the open charter spot. "Tropicorp is a company based in V&T, makes it an easy target to buy charters from", continued the anonymous netizen. Warren Pawstone (#34), Euroli Islander (#42), Tom Bombelli (#16), Melvin Andrew (#49), Jeff Shreeves (#29) and Adam Poboski (#98) all failed to qualify, with Andrew and Shreeves still absent from the point standings four races in.

Meanwhile, the involvement of the Kanyean military with the country's NSSCRA team continues. Army, Navy and Air Force will be back on the hood of Stiller's, Alvarez's and Brooke's cars respectively, for both the Pencurve Electronics 500 in Jalton and the Emerald Energy Night Race in Bompton. Paintjobs and diecast models will be revealed in the days to come, according to a GFR spokesperson.

All qualifying sessions and races will be broadcast live on SKYNET (Saint KanYe NETwork) Sports Channel 12, and online at nsscra.skynet.stk.

NSSCRA: KEV SNARES WIN, SECOND CHASE SPOT FOR VMR
Runner-up Stiller praises Vannish racer's performance

by Maria Muller

KERMANIA CITADEL - Heading into the Kermania Fortress Run here in Jebslund, Kev Schorebrook of Vannish NSSCRA (Nationstates Stock Car Racing Assocviation) team VMR Corsair has two career wins, both coming last season. Today, he adds another, plus a second straight Chase appearance, after a great performance in the #25 REDUP Energy Drink VM. The win also gave VMR Corsair two spots in the NSSCRA playoffs, the same amount as they did last season.

"That guy [Kev] earned it. He did his homework. I would get past, but he was such a sneaky guy, and slip away again. Bravo", said Kanyean driver Skip Stiller of Glorious Free Republic Motorsports, who won this event a season ago, but now finished second to Kev. Stiller's #3 QED Car Rentals Chadwick went beating, banging, and exchanging the lead with Kev's car multiple times in the closing moments of the race; the latter would break away from the former with less than twenty laps remaining, forcing Stiller to play catch-up. "I was successfully reducing the gap between us, though. I could have gotten the win, but if I did, I'm sure as hell Kev wouldn't have made it easy for me."

Licio Granado, the Lisanderian driver of the #9 Castleford Auto Dealer Dunneot, made it back-to-back races in third place. Eva Kerman took the #13 car to fourth place at home, but also lost the points lead by one to Kev; Cassadagan Meghan Sharpe was fifth in the #4 car sponsored by Spacebook.

GFR's Jeremiah Brooke improved on his seventh place finish at the track last season, grabbing sixth in the #18 Hyde Medical Group Chadwick. "Just part of the process. We'll get to victory lane eventually", said the 26-year-old driver. Liangmei Li claimed seventh in the #88, the very first top ten of the Sherpa driver's career. Eighth and ninth were two more Jebslunden drivers, Wilhelm Kerman (#1) and Sofia Kerman (#69) respectively. Tenth was last week's winner, Vilita and Turori's Yraaga Gilli'i (#41). As for the other two Yeezies in the race, Thea Alvarez rebounded from last week's crash at Lonngeylin, driving the #46 Multiversal Automotive Coatings Chadwick to thirteenth place, and Philip West, who utilized the race's open charter, finished twenty-fifth in the #19 Blood Moon Beer Chadwick. "I don't feel that was good enough", said West. "Oh well, off to find another race in the schedule to be in, another attempt to do well, and I hope I exceed what I've done today."

The first part of the race saw the drivers' positions on the track get shuffled a lot. Brooke, Kev, and River Suzgar (#14) started nowhere near the front, but all three of them saw time in the lead. Granado was also a frontrunner early on, but instead of making his way from the middle, he maintained his favorable top five position. Stiller lingered in the top ten, while both Alvarez and West fell behind. "To be honest, I was still very nervous at the start. Many things were on my mind, including whether I'm gonna get caught in another crash. It was a terrible start to my race", said Alvarez. "But my crew was very supportive and gave me much motivation."

The teenage driver eventually shook her anxiousness away, as she climbed back up, going to as high as fourth, just behind the three hometown drivers. Stiller kept up with Alvarez and the Jebslunden trio, while Brooke made an early pit stop for tires and a grille cleanup, pushing him back to as far as 23rd. West didn't pit, but still lost positions. "This shouldn't be happening. Road courses are my thing", he told spotter Devin Carney over the radio.

The race's first caution was for hard contact between Jennifer Jane's #8 and Eddie Walters Jr.'s #10. Brooke escaped pit road as the new leader, replacing Wilhelm Kerman. The #18 would run in first for some time, with Stacie Houston (#27) following close behind; groups of Kanyean and Cassadagan fans cheered whenever the two drivers challenged each other for the lead. Houston and Brooke would then drop to third and fourth upon getting passed on the inside by Kai Qiang (#44) and Alvarez, who was riding the Sherpa's air. It was Stiller's turn to tumble to outside the top 20, as he chose to fill his tank and take four tires in the last pit stop. West was still running behind his teammates, but had actually started gaining positions and was soon in the top 20.

It was way past the halfway mark when the GFR cars found themselves running in the same pack, just inside the top 15. Up front were Suzgar and Gilli'i; even as teammates they were fiercely battling each other for the lead. One lap even saw the two VTM cars in a photo finish situation, with the #41 being scored ahead of the #14 by less than a millisecond. After some daring moves, including a bump and run on Qiang, Stiller found himself leading. He would hold his position for about twenty laps, but Kev was also moving up, and was soon in second. The blue and red #25 got the lead back by giving the "Blue Trey" a tap on the driver side, with Stiller retaliating after five laps; more contact came in the succeeding laps as neither driver would give up. "I really thought that sooner or later, they're going to wreck", said Stiller's spotter Patrick Morris. Kev was eventually able to wriggle through lapped traffic and leave Stiller behind, holding on to his lead to capture the checkered flag and join fellow Vannish Ellie Lindskog (#50) in the Chase.

The win gave Kev and his VMR Corsair teammates much momentum as they return home to Vangaziland next week for the Blue Coast 400 at the Sonrise Motorway. WGP star Jessica Franssen is expected to make the first of her two appearances this season in that race, fielding the #01 car. "That I've gotta see", said Brooke. "I've watched her [Franssen] in WGP, she was good there. I know the world wants to see if she'd be as good in stock cars as she is in open wheelers, and I'm with the world. She could be an additional challenge to overcome. Instead of the three tough Vannish cars to try to beat, there could be four. We must prepare for that."

All qualifying sessions and races will be broadcast live on SKYNET (Saint KanYe NETwork) Sports Channel 12, and online at nsscra.skynet.stk.
