Heroes for Hire without a series three for Luke Cage is rough since Luke Cage ends in a dark place.

Loving Daredevil. It's not the Born Again I love but it's the Born Again that Netflix could deliver.

Didn't read up on the comics to avoid spoiling myself, but what exactly is different?

They haven't mentioned it. It'd be a real problem plot-wise if they did.

But now that I think about it, MCU Netflix can use the Thanos snap to justify the lack of Luke Cage and the Iron Fist in their future. That'd be pretty cool.

Sure, but when Thanos is defeated in Avengers 4 they'd have to return again, right?

I believe the netflix shows all continue to take place before Infinity war does.

Dont know if they will ever change that, might have to at some point as its a pretty damn big event to just try and ignore if they move the shows to take place after infinity war at all.

Probably just some similar references such as their favorite name for the Battle of NY: "The Incident."

It's so different you couldn't possibly spoiler this, since they're just making Born Again references.

Born Again in the comics Karen Page is a heroin addicted porn actor who sold Murdock's identity for a fix. Kingpin then starts dismantling Murdock's life. Gets him disbarred, eventually blows up his apartment building which is when Murdock figures it out. He uses government connections to get Nuke (from the Jessica Jones series) to go after Daredevil. Ben Urich is still alive and a key part of the story. It's really different.
He gets an escaped mental patient to dress up as Daredevil and kill someone, no Bullseye in the comic version. Daredevil finds out about this before it happens and tells the dude to go ahead and make the other suit knowing that the guy is in a bind. Also, Matt figures out Maggie is his mom right away, doesn't have a crisis about it. The Avengers stop the fight between Daredevil and Nuke in Hell's Kitchen and that leads to Captain America finding out that Kingpin has a bunch of people in the government on payroll. Convincing Captain America to look into what's happening brings Kingpin down.

Netflix chronology is miles off and always has been.

The most recent things we've seen in the MCU all occur after the credits of AMatW started rolling. AoS is the most up to date show, with the end of S5 taking place concurrently with the first half of IW.

All indications, if you ask me, are that they're not going to explore the Snap-verse as it were. And if they do it will be within the confines of A4.

When you think about it the Snap-verse would really just be a retread of The Leftovers in terms of premise if you let it play out as a television show... the only people who know the cause are the Avengers and Guardians and associated companions

Similarly, if you then, as most think is likely, manage to undo the Snap... well, that's hours of television that's broadly wasted. It's possible they will not take it this way... making the filming of the new Spiderman movie really interesting... but I don't think they're doing it like this. The alternative is to make it so that the television characters remember the Snap-verse (similar to how the trauma of the Framework or AoS S5 isn't pointless and just gone) but how to achieve that?

tl;dr

  • Either the television shows waste their runs and create emotionally hollow retroactive plots, or
  • The television shows dictate available solutions (i.e. spoil) A4.

I would be very surprised if any of the shows reference the Snap until after A4, it's just easier that way.

Why though? Netflix Marvel aren't exactly a hit-and-miss barring Iron Fist, unlike Marvel Television. AoS had their fair share of hit-and-miss, Agent Carter was cancelled on Season 2 despite solid story and Inhumans...we don't talk about Inhumans.

Also, some good news. Falcon and Bucky exclusive limited series for Disney's streaming service, adding to the line of Loki's and Scarlet Witch's limited series as well. And some rumors about a Hawkeye series where he trains a certain young archer.

Cause they're DEPRESSING. And boring. If I wanna watch The Punisher, I'll watch that kick-ass version with Ray Stevenson. Not to mention they're all C-list heroes. I mean who was clamoring for a show about Jessica Jones?

I like the Ray Stevenson one, I was sad that it didn't got any sort of continuation since the potential is huge for that movie. And it's not like they don't know about their status, I think it's the Marvel and Disney's way to get more profits and using more rights at risk. After all, their bet with GotG paid off and they are also not exactly a very famous team back when they were first introduced to the MCU.

I can see now that the trend might be lowered. I read it somewhere that one of the rumored reason is because of social media trend, as Iron Fist and Luke Cage were getting lower trends in social media as their shows and seasons continue.

And who cared about movies for the Guardians of the Galaxy? Scott Lang? Captain Marvel? Even Black Panther is kind of in that boat, Illuminati connections to early 2000s comics relevance aside. A lot of people argue that all the MCU characters... with the exception of Hulk and Spiderman... are C-list pop culture wise but for the contribution of the MCU,

I mean, look at the DC shows. Especially Legends. No big Disney-Marvel-Netflix thing to ride on, and populated by c-listers like Commander Steel, Heat Wave, The Atom, Isis and so on. But they make it FUN. Talking about a ghost commanding Elvis, killer unicorns, evil fairy godmothers, this. You wanna do the lesser heroes show? Fine. But don't make it depressing and unfun.

I can agree on that one. I think Marvel's Netflix is designed on mind with the Darker and Edgier theme since they have no restrictions to make their shows whatever they like, unlike the restrictions set with the television shows. Legends of Tomorrow is super fun.

Netflix Daredevil is literally the best superhero TV show out there.

Even the idea of "C-list heroes" is bull. Many of the Marvel's superstars weren't even A-listers before their first movies in the MCU. The idea even of an "A-list hero" is such a bullshit term because it all depends on the relevant character's exposure, and how much money the company can make off of selling products related to that hero (films, TV shows, video games, toys, etc.). And, frankly, the idea that some TV shows are shit because they make you sad and bored isn't a great metric for judging whether or not it's good television. That's called an opinion, and a personal preference.

Oh, please. Jessica Jones was the very bottom of the barrel for Marvel characters. Cripes, I'd literally never heard of her before she got a show. I'd at least seen Iron Fist and Luke Cage in a cartoon. Same with the Guardians and such. But her? No. And I'm not interested in a complete nobody of a character on a dreary, depressing show.
