My interactions these days are with a group I settled into consisting of army folk and trade unionists on the dissident left of the labour party. All socialists, no commies, and i've never met a communist soldier either. I'd say they're odd socialists in that they tend toward anti-progressivism and nationalism like me, and though the trade union reps put up a front in public they're ambivalent, leaning hostile, toward progressivism and internationalism both in terms of defending their members interests and in terms of values.

I've been called Comrade on occasion in the Momentum meetings, but even that person was merely a socialist.
I'm wracking my brain trying to think of one I might have met, but nope.

The lumpenproletariat and the proletariat used to be a single class. It was unionization, which Marx and Engels were involved in, which resulted in the distinction between those two classes. If unionization spreads to the lumpenproletariat, which may not occur until the possible revolution, they will cease being an independent class.
