It’s Election time!

The Steppe Khanate, a constitutional monarchy that takes up most of North and Central Asia (And is in the Midas Casino RP Group Canon world) is holding elections for the Council Leader (The Tribal Council and Parliament are the upper and lower legislations, while the council leader is equivalent to Prime Minister)

Previous Council Leader, Raroko Khakjaida of the Conservative Steppese Independence Party (CSIP), is looking for a second term, while many others contest against him…

Here’s a map of Administrative Divisions, with the electoral votes for each one shown

Rules:
You may endorse any candidate, and actively fund/support your candidate as they campaign across the Khanate
NO War (Some new players consider election threads as spaces to declare war on nations)
NO Outsourced assassinations, every candidate will stay alive until election night

The Allied States of Kowani, acting in full official capacity does hereby announce their endorsement of Cyriacus Buyirugh, in order to further spread the ideals of the state further throughout the globe. In addition, the government has issued a formal condemnation of Raroko Khakjaida and his party.

The government of the Allied States has sent a news team, with the main reporter being María Dasepulvéda, to report in the election.

The Commonwealth of the Kingdom of Prussia, the Kingdom of Poland, and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania hereby supports Raroko Khakjaida for Council Leader and will donate 50 million in Reichsmarks(1 Reichsmark is equivalent to $22.58, since it's tied to the price of a gram of 14 carat gold)
In addition, the East Asia Cruiser Squadron has been raised to a readiness of II(STOPWATCH; Ready to act within 72 hours), while the rest of the military has been raised to a readiness of I(PACEMAKER; Reserves begin to be called)

Sukhbaatar Square (Сукhбаатар Чоүк), Raroko Khakjaida Rally

The young politician, Raroko Khakjaida, had done well in his first term. He had managed to keep the nation going through the Pan Asian Threat, and this persistence was what made him popular with the rightists in the nation. He stepped up on the podium, greeted with thunderous applause, as he stood in front of the massive Genghis Khan statue in Sukhbaatar Square, in the heart of the capital. However, not far in the distance, he could see a group of protestors. He had been tagged by opposition as an “Islamaphobe” “Fascist” etc. However, in this ever growing tension in the world, he felt he could do a good job at leading the nation. He Began:

My fellow Steppese! It seems we have reached another election, and I hope to be reelected this time! We saw how well me and my wonderful administration empowered our people into pushing through! Tough times are upon the continent of Asia, with the spread of Communism, and we must push through! Hope is our future!

He was met with thunderous applause.

There are some with ideologies that are radical, align with the extreme. One of those being the Allied States of Kowani, they have condemned my campaign, some nations in this world do not wish to see progress, but replace it with extremism. We have good allies in the Jupiter Pact anyhow, our friend Aureumterra and PPC has been supportive of our efforts. We like any support in taking down this red menace! There are also some in our opposition, like Cyriacus Buyirugh, who do not wish to see hard work. They want people to live off of welfare, this is unacceptable!

Welfare only increases laziness, and what we want is MORE JOBS! MORE WORK! AND A BETTER ECONOMY! Let’s stop giving the worst off food in a silver platter, and get them off their couch, and in a workplace! They have no more right to taxpayer’s money as taxpayers have no right to their money!

Large hordes of fans, gathered by a security barricade as the police motorcycles drove in. The fans cheered as the motorcade passed, in the center was Muhanad Gannam, waving from his convertible car to his fans. Often, his religion was criticized for being anti-LGBT, but Gannam proved was an outlier, a strong supporter of LGBTQ+ rights. He waved to the crowd, peering over the barricade to get a glimpse of this politician. He was determined to be the first Muslim Council Leader. He smiled brightly, before his motorcade stopped, and he gave a short speech by standing up from his car.

I do not have much to say, but I am disgusted at that Islamaphobic Khakjaida’s term! If we want to make this nation tolerant, we MUST not align ourselves with Islamaphobic nations like the PPC! When I get elected, I shall cut all ties with PPC, and politically pressure that regime to STOP THE ISLAMIC DISCRIMINATION!
His motorcade continued through the streets. It was going to be a long campaign.

This is ANC News, the Steppese elections are ahead, and so the nation prepares for them with candidates giving their first speeches. Raroko Khakjaida gave a fiery speech about economic autarky and self sufficiency. He also condemned his opposition and the nation of Kowani, meanwhile, Muhanad Gannam openly spoke against fellow JP ally, the PPC, calling them “Islamaphobic” Empress Lisette has officially endorsed Khakjaida’s campaign, and has even taken to social media about her support.

Wells supports Raroko Khakjaida, Steppese Council candidate

Late night yesterday, President Lucky Wells issued a statement supporting a member of the Steppese Council election. Raroko Khakjaida, the member in question, is known for his right wing rhetoric and his dismissive attitude towards Muslims. Wells quoted as saying, "He seems good. I mean he looks like he's willing to work with the AA to help prevent World War 3. I also agree with him on almost everything, before you ask about the muslims. I can't say. Either way some group wants my head. Anyways like I said I support him."

Sorkhaghtani Yesugen, daughter of one of the greatest Steppese leaders of all time, Bugunutei Yesugen, was going to be following in her father’s footsteps, and running on behalf of the centrist party. Recent polls had come in, and shown that the Kazakhstan division was lead slightly by Buyirugh, and with 15 electoral votes at stake, she was determined to win it. She stepped out onto the podium, where a large horde of supporters, waving campaign signs stood. Many were alive during her father’s reign of economic prosperity, and she was willing to continue that.

It appears that the next Election is upon us again! My fellow Steppese, we shall continue my great father’s legacy with our next term! What is centrism? Well, it takes time to grasp, ever heard of “best of both worlds”? that term basically sums up centrism. Both sides have their flaws, but we capitalize on their advantages!

I believe the partisanship that has plagued both the council and parliament for the past two years has ruined our political state. With the threat of communism rising from the south, this is the worst time to be a divided nation. I am a proud supporter of civil rights, and economic freedoms, and I disagree with Buyirugh’s policies on social democracy! We are NOT COMMUNIST like Buyirugh wants us to be, we are a united, free economy! We also take pride in our civil rights, and we shall not let any human in this nation, queer, muslim, jew, or anyone else be derogated unfairly! My father, founder of the Centrist Front was elected to be in the position twice, and he brought in a state of prosperity for the Khanate, I pledge to do the same!

The crowd cheered as the young politician left the podium.

“Alright, so it looks like we’re leading by a HUGE margin” Khakjaida said in delight

“I can already taste that sweet 2nd term” He exclaimed to his campaign manager.

“We have the most endorsements, and we have TONS of foreign funds, the PPC, Aureumterra, Knessniet, even Atkemri have endorsed our cause” his campaign manager said to him.

“That’s amazing, we have more donations… how about running anti-Muhanad ads in Tejustan? Never hurts to chip away at those four electoral votes”

He made a public statement welcoming President Wells’ endorsement, and has indeed promised to work with the AA.

“Mr. Khakjaida, I think we’re focusing too much on Muhanad…” a staff member walked in with a tablet in his hands. He played the video, a campaign ad for Buyirugh.

Raroko Khakjaida is a hyper-capitalist who does not want to give the lower class Steppese citizens a chance at life. In his first term, he has gone against one of the core pillars of our constitution, freedom of religion, by criticizing Muslims.

“What? I never criticized all muslims! Only the radical ones, I even praised Sufi Islam!”

Khakjaida’s radical views have even caused violence

It cut to a clip of two men wearing “Hope is our Future” shirts beating up a muslim man in Ulanbaatar.

“Didn’t I speak out against that? These guys only show what’s convenient for them.”

Instead, vote for Cyriacus Buyirugh, he vows to make the lower class richer, and fight the top 1%. Buyirugh is the hope of this Khanate!

“It’s being broadcast in the poorer districts of Mongolastan and Manchurastan… this is bad” the staff member told Khakjaida.

We’re seeing a pretty heated race here in the Steppes so far, with misinformation flying around on all sides! Khakjaida accused of supporting attacks in Muslims, Buyirugh accused of supporting communism, and more! Pretty common for a democracy, really. So, let’s fact-check these rumors, shall we?”

“Is Khakjaida really Islamaphobic? Not really. He’s criticized radical Muslims, sure, but that’s just common sense. Verbally attacking actual terrorists is really not a bad thing to do, even though it doesn’t actually solve anything.” “How about Buyirugh being Communist? Nope, not at all. He wants more welfare, yes, but welfare isn’t automatically Communist. In fact, any good welfare program includes a program to help the disadvantaged find jobs. He wants to make it easier for people to get back on their feet, not force everyone to serve the Red Idea.”
