Tag! Also I did not see any thing posted above but is there any established lore on those dwarfs who might have survived from Vorgran? I am asking because I am working on an application of one such dwarf and wanted to know if there was any animosity or issues with such exiles in places like the Commonwealth or etc? Also wanted to know if there is a defined religious worship among dwarfs to Jovtune or any other religious practices?

It is possible for a Dwarven survivor of Vorgran. As for animosity in the Commonwealth... there won't really be any. As for religious practices, the Dwarves tend to follow the One Faith as well, but it should be noted, the One Faith is not a monotheistic religion. As such individuals and groups can still follow it, but put more a focus on different gods/goddesses than Tivnia.

Denied

Nothing against you I can see that you are trying, but you need more practice. You haven't addressed my main concern. You keep adding all kinds of random things to the ability, but have not fixed the one thing I asked about. What is the limit to how much she can increase the strength of her armour and weapons? You added a time limit, which does not answer that question, as in that time limit, as it is right now, there is no limit to how strong she can make her armour and weapons within that time limit. Not to mention that time limit is ridiculously long especially because most fights last only a few minutes at most.

And I did say I was not going to repeat myself, which I have had to do again. This brings up other concerns that I must act on. So denied.

Character App
Name: Mortharm Un Vorgran
Age: 238
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Race: Dwarf
Bio: Born before the fall of his native land, Mortharm was the second son of a minor dwarfish noble whose place in hearth and clan was decided before he even set foot under the earth. While his brother was to inherit the land and titles of his noble lineage, Mortharm was to be put to service in the worship of Jovtune. Raised to be both warrior, cleric, and smith the young dwarf was officially admitted into the church on his 80th birthday. It was during this time that the last King of Vorgran, a dwarf so reviled that his name has been stricken from all dwarf memory, began to have visions of a grand empire. Such visions came with a price, and when the King attempted to suborn the followers of Jovtune into this folly he found dwarfs like Mortharm. Dwarfs who were galled at such demands the King desired for Jovtune to do for his own ambition. As such, the King sought other means to achieve dominion over and under the earth. That however is a different tale. Mortharm would avoid the destruction of his homeland due to a pilgrimage that himself and several of his fellow clerics of Jovtune were on in the Dwarven Commonwealth. It was during this time that he would learn of the destruction of his homeland and everything he once held dear. Not only was the light of Vorgran extinguished but so too did the blessing of Jovtune abandon them. Such was the price all dwarfs paid that once their homeland imploded due to the betrayal and madness of their former ruler. Therefore with no homeland and no goddess to follow, Mortharm and his compatriots formed one of the few Wandering Clans of Vorgran. Clans that owed no allegiance to any except themselves and whose hatred for any type of necromancy or with daemons is without equal. So while many exiles pressed themselves into service as mercenary companies or traveling tinkerers, Mortharm and his group settled on the outskirts of one of the many city states of the Commonwealth as smiths and craftsmen. It was there that he was able to put to use the skills and abilities he learned while worshiping Jovtune to be instead used for material gain. While he professes his continued faith in Jovtune and The One Faith he in actuality worships neither. Still harboring both doubt and malice for those he believe abandoned his people in their darkest hour. With his loss of faith he soon put his efforts into his craft and swiftly gained renown as an expert armorer. He would especially be known for forging such pieces that were said to be able to deflect black powder projectiles. It was this ability that caught the eye of the Commonwealth and the Epostolis who would recruit Mortharm to be a part of a special team to retrieve some sort of magical item. Mortharm accepted due to the amount of gold thrust in his direction but as he retrieved his hammer and prepared his mobile smithy he could sense some sort of divine hand at play. A feeling that he had not felt in some time in the past 100 years....
Appearance:

Magic Type:
Magic Sigil/Circle and Location: It is located on his right arm between the shoulder and the elbow.

Magic Ability: Armament Magic. In particular his focus is on armor and shields. While he can create other fine martial weapons his true ability and passion lie in the more defensive arts.
Skills: Renowned craftsman and armorer. The armor he crafts is imbued with magic that while cannot stop a directly fired black powder projectile can deflect a stray round. Able to use a mattock though not as efficiently or effectively as a trained warrior. Has a bit of wealth due to his reputation in the Commonwealth. Well connected and knowledgeable while in the Commonwealth though his knowledge is very limited once outside of this area.
Equipment: Plate armor, mattock, smithy supplies, pack animals, and a some chests filled with other nick-knacks and some coinage.

How does he use Armament Magic with his shields and armour?

Also, formatting error, Armament Magic should be written in the Magic Type

If it's okay, I can try making a new app that's improved. I'll play a human with different abilities so that it's simpler to play and make.

Character App
Name: Arcillo Aipiter
Age: 23
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Race: Demihuman
Bio: Arcillo was born into a demihuman family of peddlers, who made their living off the land they wandered. More specifically, off it's many hidden riches, buried beneath the ground that only the sharpest of eyes could spot. With his family being part bird, they could find and mine anything from ore to crystals and sell them. This would be a life, though, that Arcillo would never get to experience. When still but a baby, his parents decided to settle down and set up shop in a mining community a ways from a Epostolis city state to raise the boy in a relatively 'normal' environment.

Growing up, normal was a had thing to come by, especially in a mining town. In some ways, Arcillo seemed accustomed to the hustle and bustle of it, for there was always something to do or someone to help.

Appearance:

Magic Type: Augmentation
Magic Sigil/Circle and Location:

Magic Ability: Arcillo is able to enhance certain aspects of himself (sharper talons, shorter feathers, etc.) and even change the color of his feathers to better camouflage in his surroundings.

Equipment:
  • Scout Rifle
  • Sword
  • Small pickaxe
  • Modified Epostolis Uniform
  • A small Lamp

Character App

Name
Ikumo Yamugi

Age
20

Sex
Male

Sexual Orientation
Unclear, seeing as he's never explicitly confirmed or denied anything, but judging by the way he behaves around handsome boys, it's not difficult to make certain deductions.

Race
Demihuman

Bio
Ikumo, the oldest of three children, was born unlucky.

He was born twenty years ago, the eldest child of Azur Yamugi, a demihuman who had served as an officer in the Rusni Cosakzi of the Rusnus Empire, and Imray Yamugi née Yazin, a high-ranking bureaucrat. As demihumans, his parents possessed several superhuman traits; his father had eagle-like eyes that allowed him to see extremely far, and his mother was a snake-human, i.e. she possessed snake fangs, a snake tongue, and venom glands that salivated a potent neurotoxin.

Ikumo was born without any of his mother's snake components, while his younger sister and younger brother both possessed a full set of fangs and venom glands; to add insult to injury, not only was he born without his father's eagle eyes, he was, in fact, born shortsighted.

Growing up in icy Mosvak with his younger siblings under a militaristic upbringing, Ikumo had, throughout his childhood, aspired to be a soldier of the Rusni Cosakzi, but due to his short-sightedness, was told by his father that he would never be accepted into the order, given the high degree of physical fitness demanded of its members. Refusing to believe his father, Ikumo continued to train himself even from a very young age, but slowly came to develop doubts about his ability, even as his siblings quickly surpassed him in terms of combat ability.

While he was able to develop a decent level of combat prowess and fitness, Ikumo was perpetually held back by his eyesight, which prevented him from seeing anything two feet in front of him without a pair of glasses. As he started to despair more and more, Ikumo pleaded with his father to find a way for him to have his eyesight fixed, so that he could join the Rusni Cosakzi. His father refused, insisting instead that Ikumo, having clearly been cursed by the gods (which one, he did not deign to specify), ought to stay around in the village and learn a simple trade to survive.

Furious at his father's humiliating attitude towards him, Ikumo spent three to four years scrounging up whatever money he could find from doing odd jobs, while going on sport-hunting trips with the few acquaintances he had just to make sure his already poor eyesight wasn't deteriorating.

At the age of 16, he visited an old mystic known to the community as Ilya the Cynic (an old man who had since passed away), paying him with the money he had saved over the past few years and begging him to use his magic to fix his eyesight. The old mage, thus, granted Ikumo a sigil: a simple black circle on the palm of his left hand.

Though it was hardly anything fancy (it was, in fact, very ordinary-looking), this sigil changed Ikumo's life, for the better and for the worse.

On one hand, his father, enraged that Ikumo had visited a mystic without his permission (Azur Yamugi had a distrust of magicians and wizards not under the government's employ), threw Ikumo out of his house and demanding that he never return. On the other hand, Ikumo was finally able to fire an arrow with the accuracy he could only dream of earlier in his life, even if for only one and a half hour at a time (a detail he found out the hard way, as old Ilya had apparently forgotten to inform him of that one catch).

With the little money that he had left, he bought himself a set of light armour, an ordinary Rusni-style cavalry sabre, and most importantly, a mahogany longbow and arrows that had previously belonged to a now maimed member of the Rusni Cosakzi (ignoring the stigma attached to a weapon of such history; Ikumo was hardly superstitious), among other essential travel items. Armed with nothing but his new weapons and carrying nothing but small change, Ikumo found employment as a bodyguard-for-hire, protecting merchant convoys in exchange for money.

Though he thoroughly enjoyed the newfound freedom of his new career, Ikumo could not help but feel that there were times that he began to feel bored. Freedom, he soon came to realise, wasn't always enough. Sometimes, one just needed to have a little bit of an extra spark in life, just to make it worth living. There was only one life, after all; why squander it doing the same thing over and over again?

He'd never cared much for the political concerns of the world around him, but an advertisement for an expedition by the Epostolis soon caught his eye. On closer inspection of the advertisement, Ikumo found, to his surprise, that it was no ordinary expedition, but a quest to find the 11 Keys of Truth. Ikumo wasn't particularly interested in world politics, but even he knew what the 11 Keys of Truth were, and damned he would be if he didn't seize the chance to earn potentially big bucks, get some fame and glory and excitement, and maybe even spite his father while he was at it.

Appearance
Image

Height: 177cm (5ft 8in) | Weight: 64kg (141lbs) | Hair colour: silver | Eye colour: amber

Magic Type
Augmentation magic

Magic Sigil/Circle and Location
Image
A simple black circle with a diameter of 4cm. Located on the palm of his left hand; it cannot be seen most of the time, as it is hidden under his glove.

Magic Ability
  • Eyesight augmentation: With conscious effort, Ikumo is able to use the magic of his sigil to improve his bad eyesight to high levels, allowing him to focus on objects two times further than the average human. As using this magic requires concentration and conscious activation and effort to maintain, Ikumo has a time limit of one hour and thirty minutes per day (plus minus ten minutes), beyond which the muscles of his eyes will start to ache excruciatingly.

Overuse of this ability on a regular basis has a small chance of backfiring in the long run and causing him to become permanently farsighted, beyond the repair of readily-available magic. As such, Ikumo is careful not to use this ability frivolously, saving it for the battlefield.
  • Steady hand: Ikumo's magic also grants him a very steady hand, which works in tandem with his eyesight-improving ability. Unlike the former ability, however, this additional steadiness is a latent ability that does not require conscious activation or extra energy.

Skills
  • Archery: Despite his initial handicap, Ikumo was able to develop a surprisingly high level of proficiency in archery. Upon his encounter with Ilya the Cynic and obtaining his sigil, his skill in archery increased severalfold, and he is now able to hit targets with deadly accuracy (if only for one and a half hours a day). An approximation of his ability is that he is able to hit a squirrel's body from a distance of 600m, under perfect conditions.
  • Swordsmanship and unarmed combat: Ikumo carries a Rusni cavalry sabre, which he keeps by his right side (since he is left handed); though his forte is in archery, Ikumo is moderately proficient in sword art and unarmed combat, though he would prefer not having to draw his blade.
  • Haggling: Ikumo has a penchant for haggling, especially if the seller he is dealing with appears to be a sleazy individual. His tongue has become quite adept at this.
  • Faster reaction time: He didn’t inherit any of his parents’ special quirks, but at the very least, Ikumo did develop a relatively fast reaction time.

Equipment
  • Longbow x1 (made of mahogany)
  • Arrows x20 (with red feathers)
  • Quiver x1
  • Rusni cavalry sabre x1
  • Small pouch of small change x1 (incidentally, just about enough to buy a small bottle of cheap wine)
  • Rooibos-tea potion for colds x1 half-full bottle
  • Extra clothes x1 set
  • Large satchel to hold all of the above

The mornings had become colder.

Perhaps it was a seasonal thing; August was coming to an end, and with it would be the first whispers of autumn, a pale horse accompanied by the slowly looming September equinox.

Or perhaps it was psychological. Not since the last time he held his wife's hand had 79-year-old Theodor "Theo" Gustafsson felt that deepest of human warmths: the warmth of tender, human love. The sort of childlike affection that kept one awake at night and yet, somehow, in its warm embrace, put one to sleep.

How he yearned for her! To be young with her again, and to run through the verdant fields and cobbled streets of Uppsala. To sleep with her, to conjugate with her. To be by her side once more.

Maria Juni Elsa Åkerlund. Born January 6 1940, died December 10 2009.

Now, she was but a distant light behind him. A grand, benevolent fire that burned behind his back, but to which he could no longer turn. Only onward could Theodor Arvid Åsmund Gustafsson go, hobbling on his metal walking cane, the backwind according him just a little bit more of that tender warmth. He could no longer see the fire itself, but its gentle light continued to illuminate the path before him, bit by bit, until one day...

"Vägen, du skall följa den", Theo quietly murmured to himself. A poem, written by one of the most preeminent Swedish statesmen of his time, shortly before his death. "Lyckan, du skall glöma den."

The path; you shall follow it. The enjoyment; you shall forget it.

Dressed in a nicely-ironed short-sleeved office shirt and tweed trousers, with a matching belt and shoes to go and a pastel-green windbreaker bearing the logo of the Uppsala Symphonic Orchestra, Theo Gustafsson was a curious figure of smartness amidst the chaos of the surroundings, now engulfed in a flurry of roaring anarchy.

"Kalken, du skall tömma den." The cup, you shall empty it.

Accompanying him was 18-year-old Jiro Miyazaki, one of the boys who lived in the same neighbourhood, whom Theo used to teach piano lessons. In contrast to Theo, Jiro cut a far more casual look, decked out in a graphic T-shirt and tracksuit trousers and a simple grey jacket; he carried two bags, one a large Bulgari leather briefcase belonging to Theo and containing his personal effects, and one his own bag, a yellow Fjällräven Kånken that showed quite a few signs of age.

Like Theo, Jiro, too, had long left behind that indescribable pinnacle of human warmth. His grandparents had died, one after another, sinking quietly into the earth as their eyes fell shut. His father had disappeared and so selfishly run off into the distance with another woman, never to come back. His mother, after nine years of heartbreak, threw herself into the sea when her former husband, in what was perhaps a final act of cruel spite, posted a picture of himself and his 27-year-old mistress in Hawaii, making out on the beach. A day later, the Internet went down, and Jiro was spared the agony of having to decide whether or not to see his father's face one last time.

"Smärtan, du skall dölja den." The pain, you shall conceal it.

"What is that poem, Mr Theo?" Jiro inquired.

"A poem written by Dag Hammarskjöld", the old man replied, gazing dreamily into the morning sky as he hobbled on, his walking stick tapping rhythmically against the concrete path. "My wife's last words."

He attempted to finish reciting the poem, but the last few stanzas evaded his mind, and his voice trailed off with the wind.

They walked on.

There were others in the group too. Five of them in total, to be exact. The night before, Jiro had had a brief conversation with the tall young lady, Caitlin; she was, before the rise of the undead, a public servant, and seemed like a decent person who knew just how to take charge if there was a need to. As Jiro noticed from the large bag she carried, she'd come prepared, much unlike him and Theo, who had decided to make their way to the evacuation centre largely on the spur of the moment.

There was a medic too. His name was Ben, as Jiro and Theo had deduced from what brief conversations they'd had with him. That was pretty much it, though. They had hardly had any chance to talk, and neither Theo nor Jiro were quite ready to judge a guy whom they'd hardly had any chance to talk to, though Jiro did find him a little scary-looking.

Then there was Nelson. Even for someone as accepting as Theo and as unassuming as Jiro, this man was a little odd and, quite frankly, creepy.

Beggars couldn't be choosers, though. Not in a situation like this. Any human company was good company, and besides, it wasn't as if any of these people were full-on crazies hell bent on some sick plan to establish an evil empire or anything along those lines.

"Mr Theo... I think that's the place", said Jiro excitedly.

Just ahead of their group was what looked like the remnants of a school, matching the description that had been provided by the military. It was hardly what one would call a school building, given its sorry state and the fact that it was surrounded by the corpses of those things.

"I'm going to get typhus just looking at this building", Theo remarked dryly.

The bodies lying around, riddled with bullets, were quite possibly the most disturbing feature of the new scenery. Theo could not help but bring his gaze to their faces, twisted and pulled into flags of pestilence and agony and abandonment. These things had been people before.

They had been friends, brothers, sisters, parents, children, bosses, rivals, enemies, nemeses...

Whatever they had been, they were people. Theo could not comprehend the state of mind one was put in when one became one of... those things.

"Something seems off about this whole affair", Jiro remarked, squinting to look closer at the building. "I can't help but feel like... something isn't quite right..."

The blasts of gunfire from within the building jolted Jiro out of his thoughts and Theo out of his daydreaming. It was a sudden explosion of firearms rattling through the dead air, but the flying bullets were nowhere to be seen. Perhaps there was something going on inside...?

"Jiro! Behind!"

Jiro whirled around, only to see what Theo was shakily pointing to: a large horde of the ghouls, lumbering closer and closer towards the survivors, sealing off the roads from which they had come.

There was only one way they could go now.

"Damn it..."

Turning to the other three (in particular Ben, whom he was standing closest to), Jiro said, "Any plans? I say we hurry up and... you know..."

Yes.

What about number 6?
There is no Rule No. 6

Optional Stuff

Personality
Ikumo is a rather brash, gruff, straight-talking person, who cares more for getting his message across effectively than for the feelings of those around him. He isn't tactless by any definition, having a way with words, but he is not afraid to offend people if he feels that doing so would help him get his message across.

A rather unassuming and introverted individual, Ikumo talks only when necessary or only when he has things to say. He doesn't like gossip (unless, of course, it is to gather information on somebody), and prefers to converse about more mundane things like nature or food. He enjoys reading, but hardly has the time to do so, to his annoyance.

Deep down, however, Ikumo constantly worries that he may not be good enough (for what, even he doesn't quite know), and has a latent need to have his skills and talents validated by others, though he is tactful enough to not purposely show off to attract attention. He possesses some amount of vindictive anger against his father, and though he has long since abandoned any intentions of joining an organised military, he finds it hard to forgive his father for crushing his childhood dream.

Since he is a demihuman, are their any physical abilities/increases or sensual abilities/increases you wish to give him?

Perhaps just fast reflexes and reaction time or something mundane along those lines. I wanted to explore a character who inherits none of his parents’ powers but some of their weaknesses.
