Orwell sold out multiple socialists to intelligence agencies and declared that the greatest test of one's journalistic ability was to denounce the Soviet Union, which funnily enough, was fighting at Stalingrad during the time he made the statement and was constantly denounced by pro-Fascist media in Britain and the United States, and often lied about.

In the early/mid 40s, criticizing the Soviet Union was the greatest test of one's journalistic ability, precisely because they were seen as an ally for their role in Slalinagrad. Pro Fascist media doesn't count, as no one took it seriously. Yes, he named several Communists to the British authorities... to be put on a watchlist... Communists who he already had a falling out with... when he was almost dead and driven senile with late-stage TB. Also, what does any of that have to do with imperialism.

Also, there's been a constant trend since the 1820s of a divergence between the wealth of the rich and everyone else and it's still rising.

And why only focus on extreme poverty? Almost like it's meant to be deliberately misleading so that people can pretend there's no poverty anywhere.

The final issue to be addressed in this chapter pertains to the controversy, among certain liberal or secular Jews, of self–segregation. Considering that Orthodox Jews are only permitted to travel by foot on the Sabbath (Hebrew, שַׁבָּת [MP3], Šạbbāṯ, “to rest”), in order for me to become Orthodox (not that I would), I would literally need to move into a modern–day Jewish ghetto. What I shall refer to as the new ghettoization is the process of intentionally constructing a ghettoized mind. Such a mental framework continues the internalized oppression of mandatory Jewish quartering from previous eras. In my opinion, this self–destructive attitude makes no sense in the 21ˢᵗ century.
