Alcohol law: Specific alcohol laws are determined by the states and territories. In order to serve alcohol (including waitors), one must obtain a liquor vender's licence. One must be 18 years or older to purchase, sell or consume alcohol (some states allow miners to drink under very, very strict conditions, whilst some don't)
Other special food laws: Yes, actually. Food importation is subject to our extremely strict quarantine laws. One must have clearanxe to import food here. Punishments for non-compliance include fines and criminal prosecutions. Each individual state/territory have their own quarantine restrictions, (some of which are enforced inside their states) and food cannot be moved across the country without passing quarantine restrictions. The ABSOLUTE MINIMUM in food safety which one is allowed to obtain is HACCP standards.
List biggest cities in YN with population (we will determine how many restaurants to open): basing this on population is a silly way of measuring things. Aside from the fact that the manner in which we measure cities' populations is stupidly inconsistent (if the USA measured pop. The way Australia does, New York City's 8 million residents would become something like more than 20 million), there are also resort cities. Resort cities are cities who are almost entirely based on tourism, and usually see more tourists than residents, thus having its usual population elevated above that of other major cities (The Gold Coast, for example, sees 10 times as many annual tourists than there are residents, as do the ski resorts, where as other cities would bearly get half as many tourists in a normal year. I strongly recommend against this manner of measuring population, unless you also know what the tourist population of the city is (and no, I will NOT provide that for you- this list is enough. I will also NOT provide a list of resort cities). You would also need the population of surrounding areas, which I will not provide for you, as this is enough (and before you start complaining that I'm making this overly-complicated- it's my country and I can run it as I desire):
Sydney: 5.1 million
Melbourne: 4.8 million
Brisbane: 2.5 million
Perth: 2 million
