Then, the Secretary of State piped up. “I guess we used the wrong protocol.” That broke the tension and embarrassment in the room. Soon, the lecture was ongoing. The Marshal took furious notes, with three typists behind him, recording the meeting for posterity. After all of the brass had their day, the Marshal finished off the glass of port and rum in front of him, and passed the rum around. After letting out a sigh, he spoke. “Collateral damage, as you might think, is a bad thing. Here, however, it is something we will need. Your soldiers are by nature disciplined- but that doesn’t mean that they have to march in parade-ground uniforms in blocks of men.” He tapped his fountain pen on the white marble and chrome table. “They have my permission to assault and destroy any opposition rioters or people opposed to our common goal. They will have to follow some guidelines though. No rape or looting will be permitted, except on enemy prisoners and property vetted by us for your enjoyment. You may take no prisoners in our streets, just so long as a few Taschist officers can observe their execution.” He poured Rommel a shot glass of Screech, as he knew that Rommel liked hard liquor. “In addition, no interfering with our operations; if we need you to evacuate or to assist us, we will need you to heed our warnings and requests. Sorry if this seems a bit much- I just don’t want to have nothing left to govern after we crush them. Now, if you’ll just sign this communiqué[region][/region]...”
Rommel takes a sip out of his glass. "Vell the rules seem easy enough to follow. I myself know zat. As for the communiqué, let me have a pen and I will sign
