4 months ago, General Mohamed Nashid announced the official Bashriyyan support for "Free Gaza" caravan, the Free Gaza flotilla movement was huge and at least 10 nations had contributed to it. Bashriyya, Germany, Swedelan, Qatar, Turkey, Iran, Tunisia, Algeria, Canada, as well as the Tripoli based Government and the National Salvation Government in Libya and Flanders-Walloonia, had each contributed a ship to the flotilla of what was supposed to be a peaceful humanitarian mission. General Nashid along with other leaders present at the conference claimed that the flotilla was to provide humanitarian and charity aid to the Palestinian people. Many Zionist right-wing news pundits claimed and predicted that the flotilla was hidden weapons shipment funded by Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood to try and reignite tensions in Gaza, another thing that made this flotilla strange was its endorsement by Lord Charles Redshield of Scotland at a time when the Redshield banking clan was at a lot of heat.

This was true, the two Libyan ships, and the Bashriyyan, German and Iranian ships were all carrying weapons and ammunition to the brink, and the Turkish ship was carrying other equipment like balaclavas, radios, uniforms and things like that. So the pundits were 100% right, however one should not forget that the other ships involved really were carrying food, and other things for the Palestinian people.

However information leaked out and the Zionist Jews attacked the Flotilla ships with anti-ship missiles, outraging the Bashriyyan military elite and much of the international community.

The day had finally come Bashriyyan military elite had been conspiring for several years for this day, the liberation of the Palestinian territories from what Nashid considered the Zionist Regime entity. President Donald J.Trump of the United States of America has just recently heard about the invasion of Israel from Bashriyya. He was absolutely shocked that something like this would happen, he expected that the Israeli allies would've got everything under control and that a wide scale invasion would be suicidal.
He quickly assembled a press conference to condemn Bashirrya's acts. He would later organize a meeting in the Pentagon for this situation.

The room was crouded with journalists waiting to hear another speech from the controversial Donald J.Trump, they were going to detail every word and word he has to say.
After a few minutes Trump has went to the stage and all journalists went quiet.
"Recently, Bashriyya and it's allies went on an unlawful rampage to kill our allies and take Jerusalem. As long as I am president, I will not let this happen, not under my watch. You can't just invade whoever you want without a good reason and not expect reprecussion. Nashid, you started a war you cannot finish, this is not going to slide away, this is a declaration of war so you should stop what you are doing immediately or else there will be serious reprecussions. I warn you, you cannot commence an unlawful invasion with a very bad excuse to back it up, the Palestinian nation is not officially recognized YET. Not even yet! It's all basically a cover to your anti-semitism, you plan to oppress the Jews as soon as you win, I doubt that you will ever win anyways, Israel is one of the strongest nations in the Middle East. In his speech there was such bad reasoning and the overzealous anti-semitism is so felt in the announcement even if it's not announced officially. Nashid you are nothing but a liar and a murderer yourself, you claim to protect international law but you violate it yourself. I expect war crimes from your army, lots of those. Donald answered some questions by journalists in the conference and after a few hours he went back to his residence, some protests by hardline Pro-Palestinian groups were made, some turned into riots but they were quickly crushed by the strong riot police. It was not interesting to Trump, he wants to stop this invasion at all costs.

A quick televised response was made by Nashid to President Trump over his condemnation of Bashriyya's declaration of war. The comment was given after hours of speakers came to offer support for the war, hours of propaganda had been blasted to the parliamentarians and one could almost say it was a political sideshow a circus to gather support for the war, after all this Nashid stood up to the podium and began to speak.

Trump called another press conferance, this time with less journalists, they were filming every word he was about to say.
He walked onto the stage and all others went quiet.

The almost unprovoked deceleration of war on Israel in support of an Iranian Shia backed uprising was highly unpopular in Bashriyya, Nashid was viewed as a pariah among his own officers, agents and co-officials. A military coup was immediately taking place to arrest General Nashid, tanks had been mobilized in the streets and fighting had broken out among the army and members of the Nashid's private militia.

Using the streets and alleyways loyalist militiamen would "slice the pie" hiding around corners and would open fire on the army troops entering the capitol city. Mediterranean Sea, Near Bashriyya, before the Coup
Bashriyya has responded negativley to the ultimatum the United States of America has offered to them. They have promised to the entire world they will not back down from helping Israel.

The United States has mobilized it's forces from it's bases around the Middle East, from Saudi Arabia to Kuwait to Turkey, the joint forces formed a Marine Expeditionary Force and a Carrier Strike Group, they were going to near Bashriyya to make sure it was a huge mistake to attack Israel. Their objective was to fend off the OPFOR and overthrow Nashid, minimize collateral damage and civilian casualties even though it's a widespread invasion. Even before the landing of the forces, they have commited cyber attacks on Syria, Bashriyya and Iran, they have gathered some major intel in Iran and Syria but not Bashriyya, the intel could help them destroy very fragile projects Iran and Syria have. They have also sent some Infantry forces (4 Expeditionary Units) and air forces (4 Air Wings) through bases in Europe, they were in Stryker Brigade Team category that were directed to guard the Golan Heights from Syrian Invasion, it would take some time for them to be transported and arriving in Israel but as of now the Marine Expeditionary Force and Carrier Strike Group have moved in the sea towards Bashriyya, they were to experience a huge scale invasion and feel their mistake.

Commands of the IDF and Other Things

The attack had been known to Mossad informants before they had been compromised in Khataiy, and now the order had been confirmed. Israel’s satellites had passed over the tiny nation and had seen that they were on the warpath. And so the IDF was put on alert with the intention of preventing a problem. Rabbis were saying blessings in the little village, it was time again, time for war. The message had been sent out to smartphones and on the radio.

On the Golan Heights

The Syrian Army was just behind the UN peacekeepers who had long ago packed up and left. The Golan had been a base of the Syrian Rebels and with the Soviets backing them, they’d retreated into Israel. As much as a lot of Soviet firepower did the Syrians the nuclear arsenal was keeping the people safe. On the Golan the Golani brigade which would take the brunt of any of the Syrian offensives waited and watched. The day would give way to night and they would still watch.

Foot soldiers would go to the Druze villages and ask if people needed anything. The estimates were that the whole area would be sacrificed to a Syrian mechanized offensive if needs be. People were on a knife edge. War was coming.

As Syrian rebels began surrendering to government and Russian forces in southern Syria, a small group of Free Syrian Army fighters were able to arrange a deal to maintain control of a small portion of the Syrian-Israeli border in Israel's interests for this very reason to prevent any Syrian, Iranian or Hezbollah violations of the UNDOF cease-fire zone in Golan and Quneitra. The rebel groups controlling the area are united together under the "Army of the South" coalition, and they are spearheaded by the Knights of Golan a rebel group with a long history with Israel and has come to reap the rewards of maintaining such good ties with Israel, Jordan and Khataiy have also kept good ties with the group in fears of Iran's menacing regional presence which prompted Khataiy to supply the group with uniforms and weapons made in China such as Norinco copies of Amercian M4s and tactical gear purchased from Saudi Arabia which in turn purchased the gear from countries like America and several western European nations, and the group's good standing relationship with Israel and strong anti-Iranian stance allowed the group to receive BGM 71 TOWs from the United States via Jordan.

As alarms went off in the Israeli held Golan heights fighters from the Army of the South rushed to defensive positions to deter Syrian advances in the area anti-tank guided missiles hit APCs and tanks while mortars and D-30 122 mm howitzers shelled areas recently captured by the Syrian military from the rebels just days ago which were supposed to now be conflict free areas. As smoke plumes filled the sky from the shelling and the sounds of explosions filled the atmosphere technicals made from Toyata Hiluxs and Fords rushed to the area providing fire control while FSA infantrymen took cover in trenches and dirt mounds to fire on Syrian forces.

The soldiers of the Syrian army were many and they would fight. It would be only a matter of time before the wrath of the Syrian Proletariat would b e falling on the heads of the Zionists. The Army of the Golan was under the command of a seasoned general. A man who had fought in the Civil war as a junior officer. What would inevitably happen on the frontier with the Kurds would be called the Kurdish War. This was to be the Anti Zionist war.

“Remind me what is full strength for the Glorious Army of the Golan?”

That night at airbases near the border, recently recaptured from the terrorists, it would be no problem to slam through the takfiri and they would retreat. MiG-29SMs would launch along the Su-34s and they would fly towards the insurgent positions in the Golan. The battle would be fierce. Pilots had said their prayers and they were prepared to die. 4 MiG-29SMs and four Su-34s in the first sortie backed up by a A-50 AEWCS escorted by two more MiG-29 SMs. Battle was coming for the world.

Free Syrian Army fighter with a Khataiyi supplied Norinco CQ firing on Syrian forces

The skirmishes between the Israeli-Khataiyi backed FSA fighters in Quneitra and Syrian forces entered its second day. The rebels faced a major set back, that being that according to the surrendering agreement made by other rebel groups in the area so they may stay behind along the Israeli border that they may not leave a specified zone that is to be under their administration that they cannot leave. The Syrian planes screamed across the skies brutally bombarding the area, and the sirens from Israel could be heard even in the FSA held areas of Syria, as the airstrikes commenced the rebels knew it was time to hunker down but this time unlike many other times they had almost guaranteed air protection thanks to almost certain grantee of Israel's iron dome, a majority of the FSA fighters left in Quneirtra didn't trust the government and thus to ensure the region could withstand possible attacks from the Syrian government several traps were set up around the boundaries of what the rebels called the "Ribat" possessions which are the front lines of the FSA's control.

With years of Al-Nusra and latter becoming HTS in Southern Syria and even at times some contact albeit hostile with ISIL affiliates the rebels adapted to producing their own IEDs and learned the ways of waging guerilla warfare and the years of fighting the Assad regime only improved them in their guerilla abilities, and the rebels knew they could only hold off the Syrians for so long until either they broke through the rebel's lines or Israel began direct military support to the rebels. The IEDs laid around the frontiers were made from anti-tank mines and artillery shells as well as metal canisters produced in workshops owned by various rebels groups and sympathetic locals packed with either TATP powder or aluminum nitrate and strategically hidden along roads and parts of the rural areas to catch Syrian forces off guard.

While the rebels awaited Syrian forces to be deterred by IED traps they took no chances and responded with more shelling using mortars and howitzers, they also made use of small arms such as basic assault rifles and RPGs, there were also able to implore their own homemade weapons such as makeshift grenade launchers fired from the barrel of a kalashinkov with the grenade lit by a fuse with a lighter before firing, the rebels also used civilian drones to drop bombs made from excavated unexploaded cluster munition ordinances that were dropped individually by drone on advancing forces and though small cause serious damage with shrapnel alone being capable of removing limbs.

“INCOMING.”

The BTR swerved violently throwing the passengers inside. The young soldier looked at the men beside. Theyd gone through training under the Soviets. The Syrian Advance, the Army of the Golan was attacking the insurgent positions at the area of Madinat al-Baath. The young soldier, private Faiq Al-Kaleel looked up, he had caught himself before he had faceplanted on the floor of the compartment. The column of BTRs had turned towards the foe.

“All out here sargent, get a move on, weve takfiri coming at us.” The gunner activated the RWS on top of the machine and it began to bark. Sheels spraying towards the enemy.

“You heard the man, lets move. Lock and load.”

“AFFIRMATIVE COMERADE SARGENT!”

Al-Kaleel obeyed as was his duty as a soldier of Syria. He’d longed to join the Republican Guard but being raised in a Lebanese refugee camp he had come home with the return of peace to much of the country. The Syrian Army was looking for new recruits and so the victory was that the Kurds would see reason and join the Republic. The threat of SACTO would be kept at a long distance with the Soviets and the Chinese. Syria had things closer to home to deal with.

“Forward.” The squad disembarked from the APC and formed up behind it, insurgents were well dug in, tanks led the assault, T-72s and T-90s charged towards the positions that were occupied by the insurgents.

“Hold it…” The vehicle stopped, “Dig the hell in boys.”

Al Kaleel balked as the advance stopped. Tanks were taking fire and turning it back, the area would be placed under siege as the advance was grinding to a halt. Get out the folding trenching tool. And then dig as the APCs are moving back.

Casualities piled up from missteps with the mines. The offensive against the position was not going as expected. Gurellia tactics against an Army that was fighting more and more on conventional terms was causing damage. Gunships began to orbit overhead. Mi-35 and Mi-24 Hind helicopters would be the closest to the ground and perhaps in rage of enemy fire. But upgraded in a way that the Soviets had. Providing plenty of equipment to ensure that the enemy was rooted out with flame and fury.

Cannons would bark as the helicopters circled around the area. Looking for prey.

Artillery positions would be a prime target of not just the artillery of the Syrians. Which had gone through an upgrade with the addition of more advanced rocket launchers. It was a full on mechanized assault which meant that the Syrians came on with heavy artillery.

House to house, clearing occupied buildings or levelling them, allowing only the evacuation of civilians.

No quarter to the Takfiri if they did not ask for it.

Victory would go to the brave.

Syria would be triumphant, paid for the in blood of martyrs that was coming on this day. Airpower was not that viable. As some would know. ADS was active not just in Israel but on the Syrian side as well.

5 days later, The American forces finally arrived from Europe, at a nearby Israeli airbase. They were composed of 4 airwings and 4 expeditionary units (Stryker Combat Brigade Team_, plus there was the fact that the Carrier Strike Group and the Marine Expeditionary Force the United States sent to near Bashriyya to combat it could return to Israel at any time if they wanted to. The Syrians didn't realize that even they had US Army bases in their country, hidden around somewhere or exposed to the public, they could lead an invasion on Syria at any time of the year, but chose not to as it would drain too much resources.

The American forces were briefed about the situation and about the FSA fighters backed by Khataiyi and Israel. Dispatched Rangers and Marines were to advance to the combat zone known as Madinat al-Baath from the South West, with heavy support from various APCs and IFVs such as: M1126 to M1135 with air support from 20 A10s in each air wing it has sent and M777A2 howitzer shelling support and Apache attack helicopters as well as transport through Black Hawks. Some of the American soldiers were veterans from Iraq War and Afghan war, they knew about the desert terrain they were going to face. They knew the area was riddled with IEDs and mines so they had to be creative and use anti-bomb specialists to disarm the bombs and mines before it would hurt them very badly. They need to catch the Syrian forces off guard.

South East of Madinat Al-Baath, Syria
Hours later, a convoy of IFVs and APCs and Humvees were approaching Madinat Al-Baath from the South West, they were to help the FSA retake Madinat Al Baath. Air support was in the air and the howitzers were carried to their objective. The surroundings of Madinat Al-Baath. On the way they were suffering IED traps on the way, taking away at least 7 Humvees with 35 troops total, thus making their advance more slower and more prone to ambushes, they have experienced some ambushed on the way and firefights, taking a toll of 10 troops but they took care of them pretty quickly and easily because of America's better equipment and the enemy seemed underperforming with guerilla fighting.
After 2 hours of slow advancing they have finally reached the surroundings of Madinat Al-Baath. Heavy shelling from M777A2 howitzers started shelling Syrian posts inside the city.
The advancing M1126s, Humvees and Apaches as well as the A10s from above covering air support kept using suppressive fire. But after a few minutes, RPG and SAM fire was present, they were under heavy fire and they were trying to reach the FSA through radio comms, the FSA had to strike now because the Syrians are fully distracted with the attacking Americans.

Allied Free Syrian Army remnants reinforcing Fursan al-Joulan in Madinat al-Baath

The cease-fire just agreed upon days ago and just thrown away by Damascus even after Russian-Israeli-FSA mediation the fighters of Fursan al-Joulan were able to make some gains with American and Israeli strikes and Khataiyi arms shipments from Jordan. Gun battles went on for hours with FSA fighters firing from the upper levels of apartment buildings and setting up DShK positions in appartment rooms and sniper nests in others with shots being fired st buildings blocks away from eachother sperated by fields and small hills. The fighters from Fursan al-Joulan attacking Madinat al-Baath were placed under the command of Abu Abbdullah al-Janubi a former Hayat Tahrir al-Sham/Al-Nusra commander who was able to flee to Quneitra before Syrian forces closed in on his HQ in neighboring Daraa and since fleeing he has defected to the Free Syrian Army and now uses his experience to guide them in battle and use better guerilla/insurgent tactics.

Other Free Syrian Army forces left in Quneitra the last rebel stronghold in Southern Syria opted to join Furaan al-Joulan in defending the Israeli border, these groups included the Supporters of Islam Front, Southern Front, the Syrian Revolutionaries Front and Tahrir al-Sham and Ahrar al-Sham remnants that managed to join up with FSA units in Quneitra and renlist in their ranks. The rebels left in Quneitra lacked things like tanks and apcs something they had plenty of in Daraa and Northern Syria but lacked now, and needed, and thus they made the most of the technicals they could. They also made use of SPG-9 recoiless rifles and improvised missiles made from artillery shells to fire into Madinat al-Baath, hell canons were also used made from propane tanks.

As American forces showed up this was a major relief for the rebels, that were previously let down from the lack of American help this truly was a blessing in disguise for the Syrian rebels giving them hope to potentially be able to revive the rebellion in the south.

Quardya's Office, Junta Compound, Nosamo, New Yama

The initial news that Nashid had went mad and attacked Israel was met with muted displeasure well according to his aides. In reality, Quardya started smashing the phone receiver in a rage all the while spewing a series of curses directed at Nashid. He paced around the desk ranting and raving about how he was surrounded by quote: "absolutely incapable fucking morons." Minister of State Security General Phariso Manya was the only one to witness Quardya's fit, and like Quardya, cursed Nashid the entire time. It took a lot to send Quardya into such a rage but Nashid had done it. Quardya's first order after cooling off was to gauge the situation from the New Yaman Embassy in Ayesha. He called the Ambassador with a new phone that he had installed and strategized with him.

The Ambassador coolly replied to his Grand Admiral that the War on Israel was incredibly unpopular and that Nashid could be overthrown shortly. The New Yaman Ambassador advised Quardya to simply wait before acting.

Quardya took the Ambassador's advice and watched and waited for the developments to become much more clear cut. Over the course of the week, the Ambassador's analysis proved to be correct as Nashid was arrested and Admiral Omar al-Sadr became the interim leader of Bashriyya. Unfortunately for Quardya however, the lines refused to be as clear cut as he needed them to be as Inyursta's President swore vengeance against the Bashriyyans anyway. Quardya couldn't go against SACTO but he was also heavily invested in Bashriyya. Even though al-Sadr declared that Bashriyyan forces within Israel were going to end hostilities and that he was willing to hold talks with the belligerents, the Inyurstans were still steaming toward Bashriyya. Not to mention calling Calderone a "loudmouthed homosexual" did little to cool heads from al-Sadr's side, although the comment warranted a chuckle from Manya who had read the translated speech to Quardya.

Quardya could really only do one thing.

Bashriyyan Nuclear Facility: GL-2, 25 Km from Ayesha

Each and every New Yaman scientist within the facility had gotten a mass text from the New Yaman Embassy:

Military convoy headed to GL-2. Be Present for evac within 15 minutes. Convoy will be headed to airport. Planes on tarmac.

A small New Yaman Diplomatic Security force was deployed from the embassy and was speeding out of Ayesha toward the facility to pick up the scientists. The SSM troops had orders from Quardya himself to not stop for anyone or anything. A New Yaman-owned hangar at Ayesha International Airport was prepped to fuel the Airbus A-380 present there.
The scientists within the facility started to shred their own documents and prepare to gather outside to meet their armed escort.

These 16 tactical/short-range ballistic warheads would target air fields in Bashriyya to help hit the enemy's air force while they were grounded and put the runways out of commission for hours if not days.

Once it's payload was airborne the Marícova began sinking back down towards the thermocline before retaliation could arrive.
Operation: Flash Burn was now in effect...

Mediterranean Sea; Somewhere North of Egypt

Cruising high in the crisp blue skies between Africa and Europe was the flight inbound from Israel. Well above the altitude of the cloud layer, the pilots could look down from the cockpits of the warplanes and watch the flashes of lightning light up the blanket of clouds down below. Quick bursts of illumination over the hidden ocean came and went, as the flight pushed west towards Bashriyya. Flying at a high altitude would help them preserve fuel in the thinner air, further from the pull of Earth's gravity; however, they would inevitably have to drop altitude before embarking on their final attack run to dodge theater-level air defenses in the hands of the enemy.

Hatay, ~350km from the Bashriyyan Border

At an allied airbase in Hatay (thanks to IFC and other outer-alliance connections) a flight of Inyurstan aircraft was launching. Like the flight inbound from Israel, the EF-20 Crotaléa, a multirole strike fighter born as a collaboration program between Cuscatlan and Inyursta which had fast become the workhorse of Inyurstan Air Force offensive operations, would form the bulk of this operation. The mission would be bolstered by sixteen AC-88E Block II Taipan's, the feared air-superiority fighter named for the deadliest land snake on the planet. In support would fly two E-130Y-J Coquí electronic warfare aircraft, one holding the northern flank and the other taking to the southern flank along the Sahara, each escorted by four F-16 Block 50+ Vipers for defense. Finally, a single Colomas E-400 Night Howler AWEC&S would remain over Hatayan airspace, providing long-range AESA radar detection and datalink capabilities from the safety of friendly airspace.

Rather than hard objectives, this mission had three vague purposes:
Suppress.
Engage.
Distract.

Enemy air defenses would be the primary target; specifically long-range systems such as the Type-10 and any ground based radar that would act as a threat to continued Inyurstan operations. Ideally destruction would be optimal, but suppression would work to accomplish later objectives in this moving-parts operation. The second goal was to engage the Bashriyyan air forces - hopefully a good chunk of the opposing aircraft would have been destroyed on the ground or unable to launch thanks to the submarine missile strike - and to pull them into a gritty engagement and inflict heavy casualties. Both goals would work in tandem to distract the enemy, keep their eyes on the southeast while the more sensitive phases of the operation would hit from the coast.

With the air offensive underway, eight of the EF-20 Crotaléa's opened up against known Bashriyyan SAM sites on the other side of the border with a salvo of AGM-84K SLAM-ER missiles that had been identified by intelligence, be it Inyurstan, Nijonese or Hatayan. The rest of the aircraft moved in, awaiting the inevitable response of the hornet's nest they had just kicked...

Somewhere else in the Hatayan desert, a second allied airbase was located. Here sat a full flight of F-16's and EF-20's waiting in reserve as a form of quick-reaction force ready to load up and take off on short notice should the main offensive need back-up or on the off-chance the Bashriyyan air force should counter-attack and manage to break through and threaten the AWEC&S over Hatay.

Atlantic Ocean, Approaching Africa

As the pieces fell into play in North Africa and the Mediterranean, the real punch of Operation: Flash Burn was approaching from the west. The six BFM-60 Jararacussu (Bombadíer Furtivo Median, named Jararacussu after the deadly pit viper and relative of the Fer-de-Lance) were moving into position to undertake their own strike. The four armed with a payload of ten cruise missiles cut northward towards the Straits of Gibraltar, while the two armed with the high-powered bunker busters flew southward towards Western Sahara and the entrance to the great African sea of sand.

This was the second time these bombers would be used in combat; the first an operation to hit infrastructure and government facilities along the Ardokian coast from a safe, stand-off distance. Now, this would entail getting much more up close and personal with the enemy, slipping right over their heads.
Lord willing, this would end even more effective than the last time they were called into action...

Castille de Térro; Inyursta

Thousands of miles away, the situation had purportedly changed in Ayesha. Nashid was out of power, albeit alive and probably bound to take power again later as he always does; and new government was in control, calling off the war on Israel but still supporting the "legitimate resistance against the Zionist entity". Which meant that back home in the warm, rainy tropics of Inyursta, the situation in Castille had not changed at all. As far as the military-intelligence apparatus was concerned, there was no guarantee that Nashid would be killed or handed over, no guarantee that they would suddenly recognize Israel's right to exist nor disavow those who do not, and no guarantee the Inyurstans would ever see such a chance to cripple Bashriyya for decades. It didn't help that Al-Sadr had called Calderone a homosexual; alienating the one man who might have been able to reign in his generals and intelligence directors back on their leashes.
As far as Inyursta was concerned, nothing had changed and the operation would continue forward as planned

Meanwhile, NIS's CWOC (Cyber-Warfare Operations Command) was hard at work attempting to hack vital elements of the Bashriyyan government. Key targets were the Bashriyyan nuclear program, power plants, military & intelligence targets, banks and vital industry owned by or loyal to the state. An entire "warehouse" in southside Castille de Térro was stocked with NIS techs and low-ranking personnel busting their asses to break into the enemy's secure computer systems.

The weapon of choice was a self-replicating computer virus dubbed "pla2", a double-entendre referring to elements of the worm's code but also to PLA(2)s, Phospholipase A2 complexes found in the venom of certain select few rattlesnake breeds which act as potent, "minimalist" neurotoxins, capable of bringing down larger prey with a smaller dose. Like its counter-part before it, Stuxnet which helped set back the Iranian nuclear program years, pla2 would work to infect the targets, changing their code to destroy information and inhibit operation. The worm could also spread to connected computers, taking down entire government facilities and moving onto the next.
