Hey there, good to see you here.

The Legends are definitely open for characters to be tied with them, although right now, there's two distinct branches. The one run by Cercei Hara, Despot's former second in command, is based out of her home country, Ireland. They also have an extensive network in Africa, where they started their original campaign. Hara is slightly more ruthless, controlling radiation and irradiating North Africa, Egypt, and the city of Barcelona leading up to the final battle that the Legends lost.

The other branch is led by Moshe Ben Aaron, a power telepath. His wing of the organization is based in Canada and has drifted further from the original Legends group, building into a criminal organization that uses their activities to fund the rebuilding of the former Legends group. Both groups, though, claim to be the true Legends and are looking to further solidify their claims. What ideas did you have for Viper fitting into their organization?

PLAYER CHARACTER APPLICATION

VITALS

Name: N/A
Nickname/Alias: Scrapyard
Appearance:
Scrapyard, in normal appearances, is a twenty-foot long, 6 foot tall snake like machine that looks (and is) a literal pile of scrap metal. Held together by unknown means, they claw across the ground on two sturdy arms, dragging the rest of their bulk in eerie silence outside of the occasional groan or the loud clanking of the arms. Their face is a flat metal plate with an eyehole carved in, though it serves no purpose as the plate was sliced in half long ago, leaving a mash of metal and one yellow eye on the left half while the right half is no more than a featureless piece of metal. Commonly there is some part of them that is either on Fire or sparking electricity from an unknown source. However, this isn't scrapyard. Deep within this sentient heap of garbage is a small little robot, no more than six inches in length and looking like a small snake. This form, however, will often only be seen when it can't sustain or upkeep its body and needs to escape.

Gender: It
Age: 18
Build: 20ft long, 6ft tall, and weighs about 600lbs give or take.

Primary Ability: Buildup: Scrapyard attracts pieces of metal towards them to build up the body, this can be turned on, off, or to a middle set that just holds the body together.

Other Abilities:
Projectile Vomit: Scrapyard can pull an object to it, then launch it at a target at high speeds
Spotlight: More of a Utility, but Scrapyard can protrude two spotlight-like apparatuses and activate them, useful for illuminating dark areas

Power Drawbacks: Buildup is incapable of fine manipulation of objects (i.e. bending something into a different shape), so what Scrapyard gets they will take.
Projectile Vomit has limited accuracy and a slow fire rate, so anything outside of close-range lobbing is out of the question

Equipment: themselves

DETAILS

Nationality: N/A
Hometown: N/A
Sexuality: Do I really have to say this?

Biggest Flaw: Scrapyard is a major hazard and source of collateral damage, being literally on fire and having little accuracy with its ranged attack, it also would take a long time to rebuild if it had to skedaddle from being unable to sustain its body.
Main Skills: Pursuit, Navigation in dark areas (namely tunnels)

Personality: Rather cold and only speaking when needed, Scrapyard prefers dark areas as to lighter areas, due to many years of moving only at night or through sewer systems, and always looks for the stealthiest route (ironic considering its nature)

Biography: Scrapyard was first built in an unknown laboratory, meant as a modular robot that could do varying tasks from construction to fighting. Being one of many prototypes, they were known for being rather hard to keep track of. Eventually, as the other prototypes failed one-by-one and were scrapped, Scrapyard fled out of fear, taking to the outside world. It wasn't long before they realized that they could attract scrap metal to them, and started building bodies to get around faster (sometimes animating Junk sculptures as well) and becoming a sort-of cryptid.

As reports of "Scrapyard" increased, eventually people got interested and tried looking for it, searching Sewers, Junkyards, many different places. Sometimes it was sighted, causing an outburst of activity, other times the search ran cold, other times...the people vanished without a trace. As time went on it caught the attention of higher ups, eventually leading to an actual search that culminated in its capture in a junkyard it regularly visited. Scrapyard was approached with two options: join the Syndicate or be Scrapped. Out of self-preservation it chose to join, being transported to "Santa Marina, Florida".

At the moment I still want to play a Syndicate Cadet but give Viper a father in or previously in The Legends. Since I have Viper being a white Congolese such relative is if still alive with Hara's branch.

One may wonder how Viper got in with the Syndicate... I too do not expect her to be trusted and suspect she'll be awkward for a time.

She... Could be up to something if you desire such.

Two main points are weither the father is alive, who he was, and how she became a Cadet.

Her father being alive is possible, not everyone died in the Battle of Barcelona. That's actually how Hara and Ben Aaron are still active. As far as his position, you have a few options. He could have potentially been one of their regional leaders, since the Legends goal was to carve up the world and have a number of minor rulers under one government for the entire planet, with these rulers being metahumans of course. Hara still holds sway in Congo, too.

Viper could potentially have been sent somewhere else as a child, and the Syndicate was unaware of her true parentage. It wouldn't be the first time the child of someone from the Legends has ended up in the Syndicate.

PLAYER CHARACTER APPLICATION

VITALS

Name: Astrid Leong
Nickname/Alias: Nexus
Appearance:
Image

Gender: Female
Age: 19
Build: 1.76m tall, 55kg

Primary Ability: She is able to link herself to any number of people, connecting everyone together into a sort of network. Everyone can see/hear everything everyone else in the network sees and have a telepathic link to communicate and know where each other are. Astrid herself can selectively mute or block any transmission from any "branch" of the network, as well as cut people off from the network. She gains the skills and knowledge of everyone in the network one skill at a time in a matter of hours, though the more people in the network with a similar skill, the faster she learns it, though these skills fade after a few days when the connection has been severed.

Other Abilities: Her power becomes even better when she links with fellow metahumans. When she links with a metahuman, she is able to share their powers with everyone in the network, at the cost of overall power and control for all who did not originally have the power. She can also augment the power and control or range of a metahuman's power in her network. The more metahumans in her network, the more power she can give everyone in the network. The ratios range from 1/20th, 1/10th, and 1/5th, with three powers being able to be shared and five she herself can hold and dole out as needed. She herself can switch the powers at will, changing what is shared in a moment from those five powers. She can switch one of the five powers she holds out for another, but it takes a few minutes for it to build to "full" strength, making switching difficult in quick moving situations, like battle.

Power Drawbacks: First of all, to link to a regular person she has to be within 10 metres of them and to link to a metahuman she has to be within 5 metres of them. Second of all, if an enemy gets into the network, they benefit from every part of the network. All Astrid can do is shut down the sensory sharing and telepathic communication if she wants to keep them in the network (to track them or if they have a really good power) or else she has to eject them and lose any benefit to having them. A link to the network can reach an unlimited distance and last as long as she wants, but the more "normals" there are, the more diluted the network becomes. For the knowledge and skills benefit, this only lasts for a few days after the connection to that branch of the network has been severed and it takes time to "download" all of the knowledge and skills the network has to offer. Also, her power grows the more people she has in her network, meaning she is far easier to beat before she can get going.

Equipment:
- None as of now

DETAILS

Nationality: Singaporean
Hometown: Singapore
Sexuality: Straight

Biggest Flaw: She is very naive about how life works for regular people, and all that entails. She relies too much on others, because that is the only life she has ever known, and leaves herself vulnerable due to not having much of a guard reflex. Though if you have proven several times you can't be trusted, she's not a total idiot and will act accordingly. But if you're smooth about it, she is very willing to think the best of people, even villains.
Main Skills: Impeccable fashion sense, creative thinking, managing others.

Personality: She is very self assured, kind, trusting, and a generally great person, though often her trust stretches a bit too far. She is very shrewd and calculating in life or death situations, however, where anything goes.

Biography: Astrid was born to a wealthy family. Not wealthy as in they have a few million, or even a few billion*. No, her family is old, old, old money. Escaping the horrors of China in the 20th Century, unlike so many others, her family grew wealthy by staying diverse. Even in the 19th Century her family was rich, but new ventures in Southeast Asia sent them into the top 1% of the top 1%'s 1%. They bought property everywhere, with them eventually owning almost 25% of Singapore. And then the boom years came, with China now open again and new money flowing into the region. Singapore property values rose exponentially and the Leong family was launched into the top. No descriptor necessary. Just "the top". They were old money, owned half of everything, had a finger in every economic pie in Asia, and were careful to keep themselves out of any type of publication. After the 1980's, no one knew who the Leongs were.

Astrid was born to loving parents, who coddled her and surrounded her with everything she could ever want. Dozens of nannies and governesses and tropical vacations and private schools and weekend trips to Paris to buy Dior**, and basically everything someone could hope for. Through it all, unlike many of her cousins, she remained humble and big hearted, though her upbringing did leave her a bit unused to how the world actually works. She has never had reason to suspect anyone of anything, always being treated well. Everything changed when she turned 17, and suddenly there was immense pressure from her family to marry a rich boy who would help maintain the Leongs' position in society. Despite being part of an elite circle that only interacted among themselves, they still felt the need to impress others, which was not something Astrid wanted for herself. She wanted to marry someone she loved, not someone who was forced upon her. She began to reject suitor after suitor, all sorts of men who sought to attach themselves to the shining star in Singaporean Elite*** known as Astrid Leong. She was the prize every billionaire sought, her remarkable use of fashion and her seeming inability to be tamed driving them wild. The more she refused, the more they wanted her. Her parents were getting exasperated, and in a final push, they threatened to cut her off if she didn't start taking her potential marriage seriously. They told her that one day her beauty would fade, and she would be nothing without it. It was a difficult night, but the next morning she woke up different. In Asian high society, being a metahuman is extremely taboo, and when her parents found out about what was happening they were furious. Or rather, her mother was, ranting about how they were ruined, how Ah Ma (the grandmother who controlled the fortune) would disinherit all of them if she found out! So they sent her away to Santa Marina, after making a rather generous donation to the Syndicate, and Astrid was admitted to the program for youths. Separated from the sheltered life of her upbringing, she is going to have to try to figure out life without the influence of her family and their wealth dictating her every decision, as well as navigate a world where not everyone is looking out for her best interests.

*Think hundreds of billions, most of it spread throughout the family tree
**The company itself, not something from their stores
***In many Mainlander (people born in or whose parents were born in Mainland China, the survivors of communism, the nouveau riche) circles the members of these upper echelons of society are thought to be deformed from decades of inbreeding amongst a select few families, though this is unconfirmed as so few of these truly wealthy people are ever seen

I'm going to say everything can stay except for the sharing powers part. It might not look that bad on paper but this has the potential to become very overpowered in the field to the point where other strategies aren't worth using.

Hm. Would it be better if it was a weaker maximum ratio, like 1/10th or 1/20th the power?

If there was a smaller limit on the number of users it might work, like say three other people. The problem is that if we're being realistic, everybody is going to link with Nexus as soon as we get into a combat scene and suddenly everyone is going to have 1/5th of everyone else's powers, which kind of eliminates the strategy of finding good matchups from the RP and is also overpowered since it negates weaknesses for pretty much everyone in the group. There wouldn't be a need to pick fights based on your powers when you can very easily gain the abilities of everyone else in the party, albeit in a weakened form.

PLAYER CHARACTER APPLICATION

VITALS

Name: Ian Hayes
Nickname/Alias: Gravitus
Appearance:

Gender: Male
Age: 21
Build: Slim build. 5'8 140 lbs
Primary Ability: Gravity Manipulation- Control the strength and direction of gravity which enables him to flatten things, raise things into the air (including himself), push things away, or pull things closer.
Other Abilities: (Should be related to the primary or weaker than the primary)

Strength Enhancement- Increase the force of his strikes to the point of punching through a brick wall.

Gravitational Forcefield- Create an invisible spherical barrier around himself which repels objects. The barrier can protect allies but only if they are within the range before it is formed.

Miniature Blackhole- Create a very tiny, but very destructive black hole which sucks everything around it into oblivion.

Power Drawbacks:

Gravity Manipulation- The manipulation's range is 50 feet; The farther away, the weaker the power. The heavier the object, the less control he has over it (it's easier for him two flatten or lift a cardboard box rather than a car). He can lift a maximum of 50 tons (lifting 50 tons would tire him out very quickly). Basically this ability is most effective if used to crush or propel enemy soldiers and light to medium weighing objects.

Strength Enhancement- This propels his entire body forward, so throwing a strength enhanced punch and missing would throw Gravitus in the direction of the strike. This also cannot be used to throw consecutive punches. It is more like a hailmary strike that is easily predictable and easy to counter attack.

Gravitational Forcefield- None of his powers affect non physical things, so electricity, fire, light, sound, etc. will be able to penetrate his forcefield. He cannot use any of his other powers while creating a forcefield. The forcefield can sustain heavy firepower and strong forces, but nothing crazy like a bomb or falling building. Anything can leave the forcefield.

Miniature Blackhole- This can only be used in the most dire circumstances like nearing death or after a fit of rage over the death of a loved one. Using it would soak up all of his energy. Using it while tired would kill him. This can also not be used at will because it only happens when Gravitus is in great distress. Creating a blackhole no matter how small obviously will create massive damage that does not discriminate between friend or foe, so civilian and/or allied casualties are likely.

FACTION APPLICATION
Image
Logo of the Aegis Foundation
Image
Logo of Tartarus

Name: The Aegis Foundation/Tartarus

Membership (Aegis): 30,000-50,000 Aegis security personnel worldwide, employing both humans and metas

Membership (Tartarus): Rumored to be around 10~20 highly-trained metas known as the Titans

Areas of Operation: Corporate branches and safehouses are located throughout the world, with their HQ in Britain

Alignment: Neutral. As a PMC, they accept a variety of contracts, though they've been very careful to ensure their less scrupulous business ventures cannot be traced back.

Description of Faction Strength Level: As the creator and sole producer of the drugs used in anti-meta countermeasures by militaries and police forces around the world, Aegis is an economic powerhouse with significant pull in many countries. Usually this is done to help cut costs or bypass various regulations, but it can also be used to ensure local law enforcement looks the other way while Aegis security personnel take over the scene. Between its status as a major defense corporation and a PMC, Aegis has corporate branches and military installations throughout the globe, though these are usually found in developed and under-developed nations respectively.

But at its core, Aegis's power comes from what made it an economic juggernaut in the first place: its R&D division. Quick to offer meta and non-meta geniuses alike a fat paycheck, Aegis is at the forefront of "meta management." The company's PR department often touts its power-suppressant medication Lotus as a way for those with dangerous abilities to live a normal life. Most recently, Aegis announced a partnership with automotive industries in creating affordable transportation that can withstand the collateral damage often caused by meta conflicts. But despite their recent civilian endeavors, Aegis remains the sole producer and distributor of anti-meta drugs used by law enforcement and militaries everywhere. Additionally, Aegis works on restraints and devices that can target a meta's specific power set and disable them, used to help keep meta prisoners in line.

With this soft power comes a military capable of defending Aegis interests from rogue metas and corporate spies alike. Ostensively described by Aegis as a security force, these troops are outfitted with military grade hardware and the best anti-meta weapons money can buy. Standard issue for Aegis security forces is powered armor and weapons capable of firing anti-magic and anti-meta rounds. For more dangerous situations, Aegis calls upon the Argonauts, a small group of soldiers that through their tactics and training can keep up with low to mid-tier metas. Along with troops, Aegis has some armor and vehicles to support it's troops in battle, mostly in the form of APCs and helicopters. The bulk of these forces of made of normal humans with military training, but Aegis accepts metas into it's ranks. Those that have significant enough abilities are offered a position in it's more elite group: Tartarus.

Although nothing has been proven, rumors talk of a black ops force on Aegis's pay roll, a group of powerful, highly-trained super-soldiers willing to preform any job for anyone with enough coin. This group is known only as Tartarus, and has a reputation among intelligence agencies and criminal empires alike for never failing a job.

Background: The tale of Aegis can be traced back to a story of two siblings. The brother was a genius chemist, trying to work on the next big breakthrough in medical science, motivated to aid his sister. The girl was suffering from a particularly dangerous meta power that posed a danger to all those around her. After years of work, the brother efforts were finally a success. He had created a drug that can specifically target the part of a meta's physiology that controls their powers and dull it, allowing for the temporary nullification of meta human powers. And with the stabilization of his sister came a chance to help the rest of the world, as the brother created a business to act as a shield from those with powers from myths and legends. The Aegis Foundation was formed.

Aegis's anti-meta tech has been refined since the original serum created by their founder. Traditionally, the drug is administered via a syringe directly into the subject. Now, it is now capable of being dispersed by specially designed bullets, though due to the smaller payload size it requires multiple shots to fully nullify a meta's powers. There has been talk of make the drug into an aerosol, but no working prototype has been announced.

Likewise, the anti-meta armaments have increased in scope as well. For those who controlled magic, it wasn't always possible to use the drug to stop their power. Instead, research into the alchemical metal dimeritium was revealed to have the ability to weaken and even silence a mages power when contacting their skin. For those whose powers affect their physiology itself, such as those with super-strength or acid skin, the standard drug also tends to be ineffective. Instead, a thick, quick-hardening foam is used to hold metas in place until a specialized device or suit can be made to adequately counter the unique power set of the metas. Usually these devices also come with a microexplosive package, to deter users from escaping if the device missed one of the meta's powers.

Although well-known for their drugs and cuffs, Aegis has diversified its focus to include acting as consultants and instructors for the law enforcement of more developed nations. Although this is on the record as an educational initiative first and foremost, it's not uncommon to see black and white Aegis APCs traveling in route to meta conflicts escalating past what the police can handle. In lesser developed countries, Aegis security can even be seen aiding in strikes against organized rogue meta groups, although this is suspiciously swept under the rug by many news circuits.

Aside from its work as a defense contractor, the company has made a variety of products available to civilians everywhere, the most important being Lotus. Made from a distilled, weaker version of their anti-meta drugs, it allows for the dulling or nullification of powers without interfering with your daily life. For those metas who the drugs aren't helping, Aegis makes civilian versions of their power-dampening devices used in prisons to a similar effect as Lotus. Aegis has begun delving into building more resilient infrastructure and cars to help keep people safe from the collateral damage heavy fights spawned by metas. These inventions help keep public perception of Aegis positive.

Unfortunately, like all business, Aegis isn't completely clean. With the likes of the Legends, the Syndicate, and others, it's clear that it isn't enough to just build arms and armaments for humans. If Aegis wishes to fulfill its roll, it would need metas of its own. Enter Tartarus and their Titans. This black ops arm of Aegis has turned making metas into an art thanks to the talents of a mysterious woman known only as Dr. Thypon.

Future Titans are gathered in various ways, from recruiting rising stars from Aegis security and the Argonauts to convincing governments that criminals would be better suited in the care of Aegis's "rehabilitation clinics." From there, Dr. Tyhpon begins her work, granting humans access to their dormant meta gene or augmenting existing meta's powers to heightened levels. Further work is done to bring their physiology to superhuman levels, and most are given a slight healing factor. Once their body is augmented to her standards, she sends them to the Aegis R&D devision to be outfitted with weapons and armor to compliment their role in the organization. Because of the work and money that goes into making these super soldiers, their equipment is state-of-the-art, rivaling that of the greatest tech masters in the world.

After an accelerated training regime and loyalty testing exercises, the agent is deemed fit for combat operations. Whether it is confidence or arrogance, Tartarus thinks so highly of their agents that they are usually only deployed in teams of one or two. If three or more arrive on scene, it's a sure sign the mission is important to Aegis interests. Tartarus agents have been sent to work for most factions around the world, whether they be heroic, government or criminal in nature. To an agent, the only thing that matters is completing the mission, regardless of their personal moral code. Recently, Tartarus has placed it's first ever contract, offering a hefty reward for information leading to the capture of a rogue agent known by the codename Revenant.

PLAYER CHARACTER APPLICATION

VITALS

Name: Dihiwohali “Dee” Amadahy Toleda
Nickname/Alias: Thunderbringer
Appearance:
Image

Gender: F
Age: 23
Build: 5’10”, 124lbs

Primary Ability: Meteorokinesis: Dihiwohali can control the weather, put quite simply. Want rain? A sunny day? A tornado? Lightning to strike that one specific lamp post? She’s the one to ask. That being said, Dee can only manifest weather events within her feasible range of sight at the point of manifestation, a distance of 3.1 miles, the distance to the horizon, meaning she must usually endure or be otherwise in close proximity to any weather events she creates, forcing her to exercise limitations for her own safety. Furthermore, although she is capable of working with winds, aerial temperatures, and other facets of weather, she specialises in clouds and their products, particularly with regards to storms and lightning.

Other Abilities: Relating to her meteorokinesis specialising in storm clouds, Dee is capable of riding small clouds at a relatively low altitude in a manner similar to that of a Lakitu. Further, her only resistance to weather phenomena is a superhuman tolerance for high voltages, and her hair is constantly charged at a high voltage, capable of delivering shocks between 0.008 and 0.11 amperes depending on the duration and extent of contact with her hair.

Power Drawbacks: Her powers have a maximum range of 3.1 miles, meaning she usually must endure any weather conditions she brings on. Further, she is not immune to most effects of weather. Furthermore, she cannot control her hair’s electric charge, so she must exercise extreme caution to avoid people touching it.

Equipment: A plastic bonnet for her hair is the main notable piece of equipment, as it proves quite useful in not shocking anyone, sunglasses, and an earpiece telephone

DETAILS

Nationality: American
Hometown: Elawodi, North Carolina, or rather just outside
Sexuality: Bisexual

Biggest Flaw: Mild alcoholism, and anxious tendencies
Main Skills: In spite of her fairly poor education, Dee is quite intellectually competent, and possesses a quick wit. In addition, she is fluent and literate in English and Cherokee, and is capable of reading meteorological radar reasonably well. Aside from that, she possesses rudimentary knowledge of how to fly a plane and how to make moonshine.

Personality: Dee is complex, not complicated. She possesses a bright mind, in spite of the efforts of alcohol to dull it, and a fairly quick wit. On good days, she is even tempered, amiable, and generally pleasant to be around. There’s no telling what can turn a good day into a bad day for her, though. And there are numerous different types of bad days. Sometimes, Dee is simply in a sour mood, and snappy in a general sense. On others, when she’s stressed, she is generally more scattered and often simply dismissive of others, particularly when something is asked of her. When it’s a sad day for her, or, more often, a hungover or simply extremely tired day, she tends to speak slowly and airily, and often will simply drift around on a cloud rather than walking. While it’s rare that she’s purely angry, it’s made quite evident by her silence, as in no other mood does she have a loss for words.

Biography: Dihiwohali was born the eldest child of 6 to the Toleda family in a small house on the outskirts of Elawodi, North Carolina. From the very moment of birth, she was fond of her space, stretching contentedly and requiring a legitimate effort on the part of midwife to get her to cry to clear her lungs of fluids. This solitude lasted but a sweet moment, a bit less than a year, where she was given the pleasure of being older sister to her two younger twin sisters, Immokalee “Lee” and Tsistunagiska “Tutsi,” both of whom shared the same second name with Dee.

Their parents weren’t all that bad, at least compared to the average for many Native Americans. Their father had dragged himself through college, at the very least, and worked a stable job with an admittedly small wage for a family. Their mother remained at home, making her best effort to provide a decent education for them, in spite of her own personal issues and the general quality of education all around being shoddy. The years ticked by, and Dee became acquaintances with the glass bottle just as many relatives before her.

The teens began a new era of new occurrences for the Amadahy sisters, as they became known. Around nine years after the second and third children, a fourth was had, little Hialeah “Hia.” Three years later, a fifth, Salonitah “Sal,” and just a year after, the sixth and final child, Gulkalaksi “Kal.” For most families, this would be the centre of the focus. But for the three Amadahy sisters, there were other things just as important going on. Aside from the physical changes brought on by puberty, the three manifested powers.

Naturally, as the eldest, and the one who bore the brunt of most new things, Dee’s powers manifested first, and she made sure to test them out at every opportunity, quickly realising she ought to exercise caution with her hair. As she was always one for personal space, she made a point of joining the Cadet’s Program of the Syndicate at the earliest possible opportunity. Lee followed two years later, and Tutsi finally came after waiting three to join.

PLAYER CHARACTER APPLICATION

VITALS

Name: Dagon Argrave
Nickname/Alias: None (preferred), Roach (moniker given by some villains/allies), Revenant (formerly)
Appearance:
Image

Gender: Male
Age: 19
Build: Six foot even with an athletic build

Primary Ability: Regeneration: Dagon's greatest ability is his healing factor. His able to take things such as bullets wounds, stab wounds, and third-degree burns within moments. He can regrow and reattach limbs, survive and move without his head, and even regenerate from a single cell, although this regeneration would take several weeks. His healing factor also makes him immune to foreign bodies, such as poisons and diseases. He must regenerate from the location with the most of his biomass, which at the very least would be from an incredibly resilient section of his suit, which contains a few stems cells needed to regrow him.

Other Abilities:
  • Enhanced Condition: Dagon's physical condition is significantly greater than that of a normal human. He possess superhuman speed, strength, agility, endurance, reflexes, senses and durability.

  • Fourth Wall Awareness: Dagon is convinced that he is a character in a story, and as such often talks to a narrator. All attempts to medicate him has been met with, and I quote, "You're not my real dad." Likely the result of his unstable cellular structure, it also makes him immune to telepathic aid or intrusion, as if entering his mind would drive others insane. However, magical illusions can still fool him. It also grants him limited knowledge about what the powers and names of people in his vicinity, although this may just be a result of reading too much about heroes and villains on online databases. It is believed this may be a form of limited precognition, but it seems to be limited only to noncombat uses.

  • Combat Ready: Dagon is a master combatant, trained in several unarmed and armed fighting styles. Similarly, he's been trained in a variety of melee and ranged weapons. He is a master marksman, capable of hitting small, fast moving targets at long ranges, even while running. While he is capable of holding his own against trained professionals, he has to rely on improvisation or his endurance to beat specialists.

Power Drawbacks:
  • Regeneration: Although his regeneration is unmatched, it is also predictable. He has to regrow from the point where the most biomass is, make trapping a damaged Dagon easy. Applying constant damage to him can also keep him from regenerating fully, though eventually the trauma will trigger his cocoon state. Finally, regeneration doesn't mean invulnerable. When fighting him, use traps and dismemberment to put him out of commission.

  • Enhanced Condition: Dagon condition is superhuman, but not to the levels a specialist in that physical field. Think Deadpool or Spider-Man levels instead of Hulk.

  • Fourth Wall Awareness: Dagon's posts will be full of semi-funny jokes and quips, as well as constant arguing with himself. This may cause his team mates to regard him as wierd, and their players as annoying.

  • Combat Ready: As stated above, if you're a master sword fighter and you challenge him to a duel, you'll win in a fair fight. He's meant to rely on cunning and versatility over pure mastery in any given fight.

Equipment:
  • Organic Suit (Unfinished): Dagon's "suit" is actually a modified alien organism. The original creature was designed to bond to an organic host, render it unconscious, create a super-durable cocoon around the host and then change it's biology into something that will propagate the species. Thanks to Tartarus's experiments, the organism has retained it's ability to create it's resilient armor while keeping it's other abilities dormant. It can also regenerate itself at roughly the same rate Dagon does, allowing for the armor to survive as long as he can.

Tartarus then modified the suit with cybernetics, including a HUD, short-range scanner, zoom focus, and a few other gadgets that would help a soldier in the field. All electronics are powered from the organism, which in turn is powered by Dagon's life-force, acting as a check to his rampant healing factor. The electronics are created by nanobots, which allow the suit's mechanical components to regenerate with its organics.

Due to his escape from the Tartarus facility, Dagon's armor is not in it's finished state. The armor was original supposed to retain it's durability at all times, but at this point is normally at its thinnest is only as resistant as a military-grade body armor. It can increase durability be syphoning material from his weapons and armor abilities, or an increased amount from his healing factor. However, this obviously has some draw backs. Syphoning material from his weapons locks them in whatever form they're currently in, and if this durable armor needs to be repaired will make the weapons unable to fire, forcing them back to their base state as a sword. Increasing the syphoning of his healing factor will cause hits to get through not to heal until Dagon has powered down or is unconscious. The maximum durability it can reach before locking weapons to their current form roughly equates to titanium.

While in it's less durable form, the excess material can be formed into tendrils and shapes, allowing Dagon to create ropes and supports out of his armor. He can even create restraints by separating a piece of his armor into a putty-like substance, which attached to targets and binds their limbs together. These restraints are about as durable as the armor currently is. For example, if the armor is thin due to increased usage of it's building features, then the restraints are only as strong as rope. The suit can activate partially, allowing for tendrils to be made and manipulated even while in civilian garb.

The armor was also supposed to be able to change Dagon's abilities, feeding off his life-force to create new abilities based off other members of the creature's race, a feat currently unavailable. It is theorized that through recovering the armor of other Tartarus agents, Dagon can gain new abilities.

Finally, as a precaution to prevent the suit from being used against Tartarus, the suit currently has an ability to remove the restraints placed on the original creature. If the restraints are removed, the suit will begin to fight Dagon. First, it will attempt to control his mind, making him perceive friends as enemies and vice versa. If this illusion is shattered, it will enter recovery mode, locking down and slowly encasing him in the same super-durable cocoon that normally acts as his regeneration pod. At this point, a signal will be sent to Doctor Typhon, allowing Dagon to be recollected by Tartarus. These restraints can be removed with either a powerful targeted spell or a specialized mechanical signal, and requires a counter-spell or cessation of the signal to revert the armor back to normal. Few people know of this, including Dagon himself, as Doctor Typhon has kept the vulnerabilities of his Tartarus agents fairly secretive.

  • Combat Evolution: A subset of the creature's ability to create armor, Dagon's suit is capable of adapting to environmental hazards that would limit his regeneration. For instance, if he was thrown into a vat of acid and had no parts of him outside of the vat, the suit would create a cocoon in a day that could survive the acidity, expanding as more of Dagon formed. The suit would then gain the ability to resist acid for a time, until it became accustomed to the new non-corrosive environment and adjusted itself accordingly.

This environmental resistance can be developed before entering the hazard if Dagon knows what he's facing, taking about a minute of channeling to form, or about five minutes once immersed into the environment. For instance, if he knows he's about to go on a space walk, the suit would evolve to survive the vacuum. However, it wouldn't allow him to the survive reentry. If he takes any damage during the minute, he must start the channeling over again, and any damage to the armor/himself during the five minutes of natural evolution must be healed normally. This resistance can be applied quicker for a specific portion of his body, allowing him to stick his arm into molten metal or his head underwater.

  • Truth: Truth is morphable weapon made from the same organism of Dagon's suit, capable of morphing between pistol and blade instantaneously. By reloading it in pistol form, it is capable of turning into a variety of accurate weapons, such as assault rifles, freeze rays, DMRs, railguns or snipers. The gun regenerates it's own ammunition, although more damaging ammunition takes longer to make. So while he could burst-fire a DMR without problem, he can't rain down sniper fire at the rate of machine gun. Anything it creates is grey with blue accents. It is capable of firing cryo, anti-meta, dimeritium, and magic rounds, or imbuing his sword with these powers. Once a day, it can morph into a creature and attach itself to target, forcing it to tell the truth for a short period of time before their will regains control. This is at the cost of not using the weapon for several hours while it recharges/reforms itself.

  • Justice: Justice is morphable weapon made from the same organism of Dagon's suit, capable of morphing between pistol and blade instantaneously. By reloading it in pistol form, it is capable of turning into a variety of damaging weapons, such as shotguns, miniguns, flamethrowers, grenade launchers, and rocket launchers. The gun regenerates it's own ammunition, although explosives take longer to make. Any equipment it forms is black with red accents. It is capable of firing incendiary, anti-meta, dimeritium, and magic round rounds, or imbuing his sword with these powers. Once a day it can morph into a creature and attach itself to a target, forcing it to feel all of it's pain receptors activate at once for several minutes. This is at the cost of not using the weapon for several hours while it recharges/reforms itself.

DETAILS

Nationality: Unknown, has an American accent
Hometown: Tartarus Blacksite
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Biggest Flaw: Scared of mimes, has an irrational hatred towards statues and lawn ornaments, is crazy, complete disregard for authority, impulsive, talks too much. Fears being totally alone, without even his narrator and that he may become a Tartarus agent again
Main Skills: Parkour, juggling, balloon animal making, tactician in meta vs meta situations

Personality: Likes to talk and make jokes. Occasionally they're funny. Believes he's really a fictional character for an RP, though he doesn't like to tell other people. Is relatively trusting, if a little naive. Stubborn, slightly defiant with little regard for authority he doesn't respect. Believes in doing the right thing, though isn't above a little mischief. Likes talking to people and helping them with their problems or involving them in his schemes.

Biography: Imagine, soldiers who could strike at even metahuman targets with impunity, someone who made their enemies feel as if a monster from legend had come early for them. This was the idea behind the Tartarus program, a secret Aegis project designed to be the perfect blend of genetics, technology, and magic. By augmenting a person's DNA to give them superhuman capabilities, altering their brains to make them unquestioningly loyal, then giving these individuals techno-arcane weapons and armor, the Titans of Tartarus were set upon the world to preform impossible missions and black bag operations as the organization saw fit. However, they weren't perfect. Due to the nature of their missions, the Monsters would often take serious injuries performing their duties, which meant weeks or months in a healing chamber. Enter Revenant.

He was to be the first in a new wave of Titans. Aside from the usual genetic alternations, Revenant would receive a powerful healing factor, allowing him to stay in active use for longer. Ironically, the healing factor would prove fatal if left unchecked. As a result, Revenant was given a magically-altered alien parasite as his equipment. Full of amazing abilities, Revenant would have every tool at his disposal. He was now a one-man special ops team, capable of fulfilling any and all roles for any mission. Whenever not in use, he'd be thrown into a laboratory as a test subject for Tartarus. After all, with his healing factor, they had the perfect reusable meta test subject.

Revenant was proving quite the asset, so the scientists decided to experiment on him further. They had recently discovered the "fourth wall," a sort of barrier between the fabric of reality that oracles and sages used to create their prophesies. While these magic users had been doing this naturally for centuries, scientist could now pinpoint where this "wall" was. Soon they began theorizing of what would happen if you linked someone's mind to this wall, hoping to create a soldier who would have a sort of precognition, able to avoid harm before it touched them. Because the scientists had no idea what kinds of adverse affects would happen to a human test subject, and knowing that Revenant possessed an amazing healing factor, they decided to mess with his mind. Through a complex procedure, Revenant's mind was tied to the fourth wall. At that point, a rush of ideas and forces invaded his psyche. Revenant sprang from the table, his mind suddenly clear. He remembered everything, every horrible act he had every committed, and it was all because of Tartarus. Revenant was dead. Arising from it's broken psyche was a new identity. And he knew who he'd bring to justice first.

Donning his suit, the agent killed everyone inside of the testing chamber, destroying the lab for good measure. Once he reached safety, he wandered the world for a bit, acting as a vigilante to atone for his time as Revenant. He formed a new identity, the very opposite of what he was as a brain-washed soldier. He wouldn't be a silent, obedient villain, he'd be a fast-talking, defiant hero. Taking the name given to him by the narrator, Dagon sought out the Academy to try and do some good.

PLAYER CHARACTER APPLICATION

VITALS

Name: Lora / Gwen
Nickname/Alias: Dichotomy
Appearance:
Image
She generally wears khakis, and short sleeved shirts under the sweater seen in the image, and also carries a pair of sunglasses around.

Gender: F
Age: 18
Build: Lora/Gwen stands at about 5'6" and weighs on the low side at about 120 pounds.

Primary Ability:
Light Manipulation - Lora's main ability is Light Manipulation. Through her primary ability she is able to manipulate existing light, and can even generate light. Using light she can create visual illusions, holographic projections and can even bend light around her, making her invisible (it is not perfect however, as there is a slight shimmer). She also manipulates light into multiple forms that could be used in an attack be it as a beam, pulse or other forms. Another way of using her light manipluating in combat is by the creation of photokinetic constructs, along with infusing her own physical attacks. She can also use the light she generates to heal the wounds of others, though if the injuries are to severe, her healing will have no effect. Finally, under a bright enough light, Lora is capable of healing certain injures through photokinetic regeneration.

Darkness Manipulation - Gwen's main ability is Darkness Manipulation. Through her primary ability she is able to manipulate existing darkness/shadows, and can even generate darkness/shadows. With her darkness, Gwen us capable of plunging a fair sized area of a 20 foot radius into a state of absolute darkness for a short time making it nearly impossible for most people to see. She however is one of the few you could see in the absolute darkness, as she is able to see in the dark, no matter how dark. Much like her other half, Gwen is able to manipulate darkness/shadows into multiple forms that could be used in an attack. Be it through range, or by creating constructs (her favourite way) or by even infusing her own physical attacks. If the fighting gets to intense, Gwen is capable of turning her body into shadows for a short time, allowing her to escape while being unable to be harmed by physical attacks, but also not being able to harm others. Finally, Gwen is capable of hiding in any shadow, by simply melting into the shadows.

Other Abilities:
Twin Souls, Divided Mind - Lora and Gwen are two individual souls that inhabit the same body, and because of this, they share the same mind which causes them to appear as two separate personalities.

Shadow Absorption - A passive ability, that really doesn't have much effect in combat. Whenever Lora enters a room, some shadows in the room are absorbed, leading to the room brightening up slightly.

Light Absorption - A passive ability, that really doesn't have much effect in combat. Whenever Gwen enters a room, some light in the room is absorbed, leading to the room darkening slightly.

Power Drawbacks:
On Meds for Survival - Lora and Gwen are both on very specific medication to keep her powers from killing them. It is in pill form and must be taken three times a day. If they are refused their pills, then their powers will not weaken, but grow uncontrollable until it kills them.

Light and Dark - Lora can only use light based abilities, and Gwen can only use darkness based abilities.

Equipment: N/A

DETAILS

Nationality: Canadian
Hometown: Waterton, Alberta
Sexuality: Both are bisexaul

Biggest Flaw:
Loses Control - In times of great enough fear, stress or trauma, Lora loses the ability to maintain control and Gwen takes over. While this may not seem like much of a flaw, but when you consider Gwen's personality... yeah, its a big flaw. You also need to consider that Lora is easily frightened along with being easily threatened, making the chance of her lossing control even higher. When she does lose control, the only way for Lora to regain control is to render Gwen unconscious, be it by force, or through a specific drug that renders both Gwen and Lora unconscious.

Main Skills: Lora doesn't possess many skills, other than a skill in choosing the right words when she speaks, and being very empathetic. Gwen on the other hand, is highly skilled in hand to hand combat, and with her favourite Darkness constructs, her dark chains. Because they share a body, both Lora and Gwen are in good shape, and are slightly more atheletic than average.

Personality: Lora is kind, and gentle. She is willing to help as much as she can, and always aims to be the best person she could be. She is also very shy however, and can be easily frightened. While she is slightly Nyctophobic, Lora's greatest fear is of her second half, Gwen, hurting people. Gwen however is the opposite of Lora, she is a mean spirit, slightly sadistic and has a me first attitude. She is very defensive of her other half however. Basically, while Lora is a perfect fit for a hero, the opposite could be said for Gwen.

Biography: Lora and Gwen's story begins not that long ago, north of the boarder in the Canadian province of Alberta. More specifically in the hamlet of Waterton. Their story starts at birth. You see, originally Lora was Lora and Gwen was Gwen, two different people, twins at birth. But due to multiple factors, neither of them would know their mother, as she died while giving birth to the twins, who would both survive. Survive for a few years that is. After their mother's death, and once they were old enough, their father moved them all to the town of Cardston.

In Cardston the twins would live a happy life. But that would not last. When they were both five there was a car accident, which lead to one of the twins dying. The accident also lead to their father lossing his sight. The daughter that survived did not survive unscathed though, who ever she was, she lost some of her memories due to head trauma. Many factors came together, which lead to their father being completely devestated. He knew he was responsible for the death of one of his daughters, and could not determine which one it was that he lost as he could not see his surviving daughter, and his surviving daughter didn't know her name. It was at that moment that he had to make a decision, so he started referring to her as Lora.

A few years later, when "Lora" was eight, she started to act strangely. Strange dreams filled her sleep, and a strange voice filled her mind during the day. These stange events eventually lead to what appeared to be a new personality forming. It took the name Gwen, after the sister that Lora had lost. It was at this point that her powers started to develop. Their father was at first unaware of this, but one day he found his sight had returned. At first he thought it was a miricle, but then he looked to his daughter, and then he realized what happened.

They moved back to Waterton for about a year. That year was fine, except for the fact that Gwen was slowly becoming more dominant, and their powers started to grow at an alarming rate. Eventually their father noticed that his daughter(s) were getting weaker in a way. He thought about why that could happen, and came to a frightening conclusion. Their powers were killing them. He figured that they had maybe another year unless something was done. Determined not to lose another daughter, their father did something.

During the next year he searched for a way to save his daughter, and discovered a way. He had discovered that a certain drug that could theoretically keep his daughter's power at a level that wouldn't kill her. So, he developed it, and it worked. But their was this one nasty side-effect. It gave Gwen more control, which at the time didn't seem to bad. She would eventually go on her first rampage, which forced her father to search for a way to subdue her. So he went back to the drug he created to keep Lora's power from killing her. After a few weeks, from the original, he developed two more drugs, one which theoretically could subdue Gwen, and the other would theoretically keep their power's from killing them.

The drugs were administered and they worked perfectly. Releaved, their father continued to raise Lora/Gwen till she was 14. One thing lead to another, and their father was on his death bed. It looked like he would no longer be able to care for her, however, he had a plan. He arranged for his daughter to be taken to a safe place. So, his daughter was taken to the Syndicate when her father finally did pass after 4 years. The formula for the drugs needed to keep his daughter alive, and the one required to keep Gwen in check was also sent with her. And as such, Lora/Gwen joined the Futures Program.

PLAYER CHARACTER APPLICATION

VITALS

Name: Sadie Hunter
Nickname/Alias: Moxie
Appearance:

Gender: Female
Age: 18
Build: 5'6, 118 lbs

Primary Ability: Mental Energy Manipulation: Sadie is able to channel her mental energy outwards in a way that other cultures might consider chi manipulation, or something similar along those lines. The most obvious manifestation of that is telekinesis, in which she can use her mental energy as an extension of her physical body. This allows her to move things, push things, and use objects with the strength of her mind. However, she can't complete fine tasks like this, because her control is only at a basic extent. She has a radius that she can use this ability in, and the ability weakens as she uses it further from the center of the radius. Her longest radius is about thirty yards in every direction of her. The power will weaken as it gets towards the middle and edge of the radius.

Other Abilities: Teleportation: Because of the nature of Sadie's abilities, she can surround herself with her own energy and teleport herself elsewhere. Her teleportation radius is tied to how far she can see, and she can't teleport through walls. It takes about seven seconds to charge for teleportation, and once she teleports, she has to wait approximately a minute to rebuild the level of energy needed to move herself. She can teleport objects, but moving other people requires too much energy and is therefore impossible. Moving greater distances will also have a larger cooldown time.

Energy Surge: If in a bad situation, Sadie can take a risk by expending almost all of her mental energy outwards, in a destructive blast that will burn at anything it touches. The energy is visible in this form, as an almost white fire, and the blast will last for three to four seconds before subsiding, with a range of ten yards around herself for the attack. This kind of attack, however, will drain her completely and leave her unable to use any of her other abilities for at least a half hour, effectively taking her out of whatever fight she's in if the discharge doesn't kill whoever she is fighting.

Power Drawbacks: Broken Will: Sadie's powers are directly tied to her own will. Willpower is the only way for her to unlock the full power of her mind, and if she loses hope and gets demotivated, her powers will just flat out stop working, leaving her as a regular human. Bad surprises, lopsided battles, and demotivational speeches are all things that can cause her to temporarily lose her powers until she recovers her willpower. If this happens to her, she's pretty much vulnerable since she isn't a trained fighter without her powers. She's not athletic, either.

Inaccurate: The accuracy of her telekinesis is only at a basic level and it gets even worse when she's using her ability on something in the middle or edge of the radius in which her ability works. Between ten and twenty yards out, her accuracy starts to drop, and it gets poor from twenty to thirty yards out. This doesn't really apply to things such as pushing something aggressively, but tasks that need more accuracy such as carrying and moving something telekinetically or trying to pick up and use a tool. The force of telekinetic attacks also decreases when the attacks are aimed at a target that's standing at further range.

Finite Energy: Obviously, Sadie doesn't have unlimited mental energy and while just moving it around for telekinetic attacks doesn't drain her, teleportation and doing a large discharge attack do. She's weaker after teleporting, preventing her from just teleporting behind enemy lines and taking the other side out before they can react. If she doesn't use her ability smartly, she can end up putting herself in a fight that she can't win because of her weakened state overall.

Equipment: Since joining up with the heroes, Sadie has started carrying a Ruger SR9c on the advice of the staff, who told her that she should have a backup means of protecting herself in case her powers aren't enough. She also wears a golden masquerade mask during field activities, to go along with a skin tight black tactical outfit.

DETAILS

Nationality: Zimbabwean-American
Hometown: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Sexuality: Bicurious

Biggest Flaw: Sadie's biggest flaw could be her tendency to live through her emotions, her usefulness and her overall happiness shifting quickly depending on which mood she's feeling at the time. She's heavily affected because of things she can't necessarily control, because of this tendency to let her emotions rule her. She's the type to let her circumstances impact her emotions, and from there, they control her and can cause her to fail at properly planning and can generally raise or lower her overall state depending on what she's feeling at the time.
Main Skills: It's said that Sadie has great potential, regarding her powers. How true that is remains to be seen, but she doesn't have the strongest control right now and she already has a lot of raw power. Additionally, Sadie had a normal life before joining the Syndicate, one where she was moderately popular. She's socially adept because of this, moreso than some metahumans who have never been normal because of their powers.

Personality: You wouldn't know Sadie was a metahuman just from talking to her. She's not an outcast who suffered in the past because of her powers. She appears to be a warm, friendly, girl who cares a little too much about making it to the next party and having some fun. And if there's no parties, hanging out with her close friends will do. She's smarter than she lets on, however. Not book smart, but she's someone with good intuition. She might not have all the skills of a hero, but she's a fast learner definitely.

Biography: To understand Sadie, you need to understand Shyler Kruger. The son of grandson of South African Boers and a native of Zimbabwe, Kruger would have lived an irrelevant life if it wasn't for one thing: exceptional telekinetic ability, making him one of the most powerful recorded metahumans. These abilities showed up at a young age for Kruger, who trained them further in his teenage years and, after a failed career running an insurance company, adopted the identity of Despot and decided to use the abilities for something "good". Of course, to Kruger, good meant taking over the world and dividing it between "worthy" rulers, all of whom were fellow metahumans. But with power hungry officers below him, Kruger realized that his empire wasn't set to live a long life, even if the Legends defeated all of their enemies.

That is the reason why Sadie was born. Not out of love, but out of necessity. She was born to an unknown mother and sent to the United States as a baby, to an adopted family that didn't know exactly what they were getting into or who the original father of the child was. When she was old enough, or when the Legends had achieved their goal of establishing a world government, she would be retrieved and she would be trained as a future heir, a ruler of the Legends empire. All of this was done in secret, and she was sent away with the goal of protecting her from the bloodthirsty commanders in the organization such as Cercei Hara and Moshe Ben Aaron, who desired future power for themselves.

Sadie, though, grew up removed from all of the fighting and the plot to make her heir to the most dangerous metahuman organization ever known. Kruger was killed in the Battle of Barcelona, but Sadie saw no significance for herself in that. After all, she had been told that she was the child of a touring rockstar and a prostitute. The only family she knew was the upper middle class adoptive one that had taken her in, giving her a good life growing up. Her powers didn't develop until her teenage years, but even when they did, she was popular at school and her family was well off enough to send her to a good college. That was the plan, but the rise of her powers disrupted it. Sadie's secret was out when she showed off her abilities to her friends, and that secret would spread around. Soon, she had different people watching her. Some with good intentions. Others with the worst.

The Syndicate quickly began keeping an eye on her, having some inside knowledge that she was possibly the rumored child of Shyler Kruger. The fear for the Syndicate was that one of the Legends faction leaders would kidnap her and use her to legitimize their claims to reunite the organization, and so as soon as she turned eighteen, Sadie's family was told about the Futures Program and they took a large sum of money to allow Sadie to skip college and travel to Santa Marina to join the program instead. She wasn't told the truth about her parentage and the danger that she's in because of her father's former followers, but she has suspiciously been put under Syndicate protection at all times, for the reasons that are still unclear to her...

The Arcane don't exactly pump out superpowers, per say. The Watchers are the ones that give people powers out of the kindness of their hearts. Or maybe for other reasons. We'll see.

The Order of the Arcane, though, is an organization dedicated to studying magic and studying realms apart from our own. They've been known to summon various creatures including demons, and have a fascination with them despite the danger presented. I can't say a ton more about them, but they'll be present in the plot later on in the future.
