Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the not-so-distant future. Specifically, the 23rd Century. Space travel, a commonplace now, has become so easy and so fast that getting a flight from Earth to Mars, Venus, or any other terraformed colony at the nearest aerospaceport is as easy as buying a ticket to the nearest city on Earth, all thanks to the efforts of the now non-existant Oxis Corporation. As the Earth became increasingly bureaucratic, overcrowded, dessicated, and downright boring, combined with the massive increase in travel to its fancy terraformed neighbors, vast megacorporations - such as your own - have begun to rise up and take initiative, whilst also attempting to combat increasingly dangerous and heavily-armed criminals and pirates both planetside and among the stars. These companies have all risen up and surpassed the tests of time, becoming incredibly powerful politically, militarily, and economically, whilst also attempting to either one-up rival corporations, criminals, or syndicalist rebellions, all looking to take the mantle of dominating the Solar System.

But as much as this is an exciting age of peace and advancement, it is also an age of conflict and chaos. With the utterly embarrassing amount of effort that the UN is putting into stopping these dangers, it's time for the megacorporations to push past the bureaucracy and take matters into their own hands.

Which, obviously, is where you come in, Executive.

THE QUICK RUNDOWN



This is "CHIEF EXECUTIVE", a cyberpunk roleplay taking place in the not-so-distant future of January, 2251. This role play is mainly free-form, allowing for people and their corporations to do as they wish in a sort of sandbox environment (and to bask in the glory of an 80s/late 90s anime cyberpunk aesthetic), though there will be a grounded underlying plot on several occasions of the roleplay whilst also allowing for ample time to interact or fight with one another. There are two paths to take in this roleplay:

You may take the corporate route, in which you shall make your own megacorporation, where you will be able to define the lines between good and evil in a frantic scramble for dominance in a futuristic Solar System. The brunt of this roleplay shall deal with these various megacorporations which all arose after the fall of the massive Oxis Corporation in 2165 where, in the ashes of its fall, would begin to further assert their authority where Oxis once ruled, to such a huge extent that they would ultimately dominate nearly every facet of 22nd century life as we know it. Additionally, these megacorporations all will have to deal with a common enemy: Each other, first and foremost, but also the massive amounts of pirates, criminals, and syndicalist partisans all ruining amok on the streets of vast cities and asteroid belts alike. In this path, you will be taking control of your very own megacorporation and respective CEO during this time, presented with an arsenal of mechs, mercs, and more guns than you could ever imagine to duke it out with your rival corporations as you wish, or to take up arms against the encroaching and increasingly dangerous criminal world - it's your choice.

There is also the individual route, in which you may play as a character in the world of Chief Executive, be it a member of your megacorporation, a mercenary traveling the Solar System, or a random Joe walking the street of a vast megacity on Earth, Mars, or Venus. This route shall offer anyone the opportunity to take part in the main plot without having to go through the corporate route's business section, but is marred with dangers on every side.

A few things will be different this time around: Extra-solar travel is being researched whilst, unlike before, the character portion of the story shall not be starting on Earth, but on Mars. He-3, the primary fuel source for most spaceships, is abundant, while the NSF has gained a terrifying and powerful new arsenal of cybernetically-enhanced troops, MFVs, and spaceships to engage the UN with.

THE LORE


Prepare for a big read, if you even bother reading it all.

World War Three was more or less just a big, fat, nuke-free joke for us. A joke for the world, and specifically for what direction that Wars later would be going into. Countries effectively did not exist at the turn of the century - it was just the UN now. 2100 marked the end of the three-year long Third World War in which, shockingly, nobody was bathed in nuclear fire. People died, of course, but no nukes flew, while the introduction of powerful new weapons and huge Private Military Corporations to use them ended the war relatively quickly and quietly in North Korea, Iran, and in South America. The world's population had grown exponentially as temperatures only began to rise higher and higher, whilst pollution levels increased as well in an increasingly desiccated and fossil fuel-reliant world. Massive, densely-populated megacities soon formed, with many of these metropoli rivaling the size of many small countries themselves with skyscrapers that pierced the clouds. More and more armies worldwide began to become privatized with the eventual centralization of the world government in the UN, seeing as how the UN's peacekeeping force was relatively lacking techology wise. The Oxis Corporation, the conglomerate of many gigantic fast food, information technology, defense, and pharmaceutical companies, was the first big sign that something big was coming: the rise of megacorporations. Free SIM cards and phones worldwide, corporate-sponsored space travel, and robots galore; if it was new and techy on the market, then Oxis was probably responsible for producing it and putting it on the market.

Oxis had a monopoly on nearly everything commercially, and was a menace globally, dwarfing any other company or world government that had come before it in just twenty years. Oxis phones, Oxis cars, Oxis condoms, Oxis cancer-eliminating drugs, you name it. The company was the benchmark of what any megacorporation should be today, but, one day, they made one major mistake:

They went to space.

In 2140, Oxis took advantage of the UN - now the world's primary world governing body - and its utter lack of awareness of the current technological situation in the world, and took to the stars. As a private venture, Oxis guided the population of an overpopulated and desiccated Earth to space without any major restrictions from the UN, establishing colonies far and wide on planets and moons in the far reaches of the Solar System such as Titan, Europa, and Mars. In just under twenty years, Oxis's space program had easily dwarfed any other space expedition in history with its unprecedented speed and cheapness. With the introduction of huge Atmosphere Processing Plants for terraforming and incredibly powerful nuclear engines, Oxis pretty much had colonies on nearly every planet in the solar system, including Venus, with much effort. As more and more people flocked to the Oxis colonies for work or for better lifestyles, huge cities began to form on each of the colony planets, whilst more and more resentment was built up against the bureaucratic UN's inefficiency to monitor Oxis. Hatred against Oxis rose as well, with many people criticizing the megacorporation for its alleged poor treatment of workers and total monopoly on the market.

This spree of vast and rapid space travel came to an abrupt crash in 2147, when an organization known as the National Secessionist Front, a syndicalist rebellion centered in Mars, declared unilateral independence from the Oxis colonies and from Earth. The carnage that ensued from the riots and skirmishes quickly transformed formerly peaceful city streets and aerospaceports into bloody war zones almost instantly, as terrorist attacks and piracy absolutely exploded in the Solar System. Oxis, already set back by several economic busts and crashes in previous years and faced with competition from rising megacorporations, was already on a path to capitulation as its own private forces could not keep up with an increasingly tech-savvy and highly-organized enemy. Beset on all sides by the NSF and pirate groups, and on the verge of total bankruptcy, Oxis ultimately collapsed in 2165, but not before taking the NSF and its rebellion with it. Secret operations into the NSF by Oxis's armed sector led to the capitulation of the revolt, after it was unable to keep up with itself after being stricken with internal coups almost instantly after Oxis fell, all thanks to a coincidental lack in leadership.

The void in authority was contested for nearly 35 years, but, in the wake of Oxis's collapse, new giants emerged. This is where you come in, by the way. Megacorporations, all modeled off of the success of Oxis, re emerged to dominate life in the solar system, stomping out any authority that the UN, a mere shell of its former self, had left, if any. These megacorporations grew exponentially in power, clout, and strength, rivaling anything ever seen before, and even surpassing the strength and influence of Oxis itself.

But, there still remained a big problem. Big problems, actually. Oxis's collapse allowed piracy and crime alike to run rampant in the colonies and on earth, with an estimated four million crimes taking place every day on Earth alone, be it big or small. The UN's failure to provide any sort of reaction to the crime seemed to mean that the megacorporations would step in now, but one more problem remained, which would surpass any other problem seen as of late:

The NSF's remnants were back, bigger and badder than ever before. With vast megafactories out in deep space and on remote moons producing their arsenal for war, the NSF now gladly arms criminals, terrorists, and pirates alike, with goals to provoke a large proxy war against the UN, and, by extent, the megacorporations. As a result, petty criminals and pirates now began to become much less of a nuisance nowadays and more of a significant threat, thanks to their new high tech goodies of destruction provided by the NSF. Recently, one of the biggest and deadliest terrorist attacks in history took place after an entire space station was destroyed by a NSF strike fighter, showing how the war against crime has since gone interstellar. In the advent of this chaos, megacorporations, mercenaries, and bounty hunters alike all have begun to attempt to drive back the encroaching threat that the NSF and other like-minded criminal syndicates pose, whilst also attempting to keep one another and criminal groups in check.

The rest, as you would later find out, is history. Now is the time for you to rise to the challenge just like Oxis did, Executives. Will you grow to dominate the Solar System and destroy the NSF once and for all alongside your fellow conglomerates? Or will you choose to loom in the shadows, waiting to strike at your rivals to take all the glory for yourself?

ON TECHNOLOGY


Anything in bold is pretty important.

In short, technology as it pertains to this RP is weird. It's a bit difficult to follow, but it's not too different from other franchises and universes people have seen before. It follows a typical hard sci-fi setup minus powerful space travel, forcefields, or any of those goodies, but it's still got that gritty 80s/90s cyberpunk anime touch to it. For a basic description, think Blade Runner or humanity in the Aliens franchise.

Technology here is meant to be realistic, or something that we would likey be seeing in our real life future, but that does not mean that it is restricted. In fact, anything would typically go here, save for FTL travel, forcefields (which are in prototype), or psionics. Artificial gravity is only limited to space stations and large spaceships (the latter of which is still a rarity), whilst things such as cybernetic enhancements, nanomachines, and AI are fair game, provided that they're within reason. Any and all sort of tech included in apps is subject to be reviewed and/or possibly rejected, depending on how I feel.

Much like in the real world, no aliens exist (or any that we know of), and Faster than Light travel is something that we'd probably be seeing by the 2600s rather than now. What does exist in this universe that differs from our own, however, is the difference in speed of space travel. For the sake of this universe, space travel is insanely quicker than real life, with a regular flight from New York City to the moon taking a little under 7 hours, more or less, depending on the spacecraft used. Obviously, travel to distant planets and moons such as Titan takes significantly longer - we'll be going into the double digit hours on that range. Military spacecraft are significantly faster than regular spacecraft, of course, but generally space travel has become such a common thing that it's foolish to think that it'll take long to get from point A to point B in the Solar System in weeks, or even months. He-3, the primary fuel source for *most* spacecraft nowadays, is abundant in the solar system. Humanity has since terraformed nearly every terrestrial planet and moon in the Solar System save for Mercury, all thanks to powerful Atmospheric Processing Plants built by Oxis. Settlements on areas without atmospheres exist instead in specialized biodomes.

Regular bullets and guns have since been replaced by pulse rifles, plasma guns, laser guns, railguns, and gauss guns, while thermonuclear weapons, cruise missiles, and orbital railguns have still steadily been reserved for last resort use. Megacorporations nowadays are always finding ways to make guns bigger and badder, especially with the threat of a resurgent NSF. Many megacorporations actively produce mechs that, albeit their size and strength, are still vulnerable to conventional means like overexposure to small arms fire, heavy ordinance, etc.

These vehicles, known properly as Mechanized Fighting Vehicles,, steadily began to phase out traditional tracked or wheeled armored vehicles such as tanks, thanks to their incredible mobility and tank-grade durability. Despite this, these Mechs are still vulnerable due to an increasingly dangerous environment which they fight in, and higher-powered weaponry built specifically for destroying them being introduced to the battlefield. Although they face great danger, Mechs are still an effective and widely-used platform, on the civil, police, and military spectrums alike. A typical mech is around 12-15 feet tall, but their weight varies.

Of course, technology here is free form. It does not have to be specifically from what's available, but remember that I still reserve the right to judge any sort of technology or weapon as acceptable or not.

RULES



  1. I run the RP (with any folks I choose to be Co-ops), and our word is law. Follow it.
  2. I reserve the right to grade and evaluate any and all sort of technology or weaponry included in your apps that is not from the technology lecture. If I feel as if it's not good for the setting, I'll deny it. Make sure to stay within reason.
  3. Do not Godmod or Metagame: Godmodding is defined as your character or nation doing something inexcusably overpowered or otherwise deemed as "bullshittery." Stay within logic and reason, one soldier cannot take on a whole band of criminals and expect to live, and one Megacorporation can't destroy the entirety of the NSF in one run. Stay within reason. Metagaming is a bit different - this is defined as your character or nation knowing things that they couldn't possibly know, such as a mercenary knowing the location of every criminal in a city without even knowing the layout of the city itself. Same goes for technology. If you ever have a question about tech, feel free to DM me.
  4. Don't be a dick: This applies to both OOC thread and Discord. I presume everyone here is mature enough to handle themselves and know the difference between banter and blatant flaming. A character can be a total asshole in the IC, but that's no excuse to be one in the OOC.
  5. No One Liners: I cannot stress this enough. You posts must have at least three full lines of text per each IC post. Anything less than that is generally frowned upon and considered laziness, thus making it unacceptable. Anything greater is acceptable and is smiled upon, mostly.
  6. No 'Dick measuring' contests/Wanking: This is defined as when two people argue over which character or corporation is better. Sure, debating on whether or not X is more powerful than Y, or showing off any of your tech to others, that's okay and all, but don't turn it into a blatant and violent competition in the OOC or IC. This doesn't contribute to anything and just causes unnecessary conflict in the OOC/Discord. Everybody and everything in this roleplay has their strengths and their weaknesses. No one thing is blatantly better than the other. The moment two people are seen excessively power wanking, they will receive a warning.
  7. Keep it Clean: This is a general NS rule, and at this point is the law of the land. Keep the RP PG-13. I understand it's a bit of a blurred line between what's PG-13 and what's R nowadays and that this site has a big age range, but so long as it's nothing sexually explicit, or overly violent, it's passable. If it's a horribly grotesque and frighteningly realistic torture scene or a pretty damn well written sex scene, it's probably not gonna be allowed by me or the mod patrol. If it's the aftermath of the aforementioned scenes or is faded to black before things get heated, then it'll be okay to post. This is no place to act out deviant fetishes.
  8. No multicolor or odd dialogue: I understand that Nationstates's format is hard to read for some people - that's what the dark theme is for. Bottom line is, no colored text, and no italicized/bolded/underlines paragraphs. Reserve them for their proper use instead of using them for everything. Please try to make it at least readable, as well. In short, if you feel we can't read the post without having our eyes blinded by insane technicolor text or can't follow the post, then don't post it.
  9. If you have a problem with a player for any reason, politely take it to TG. If that does not work, contact an OP or a CoOP. Do not turn the OOC thread or discord into your own battleground between your opponent in question.
  10. I am granting you a 72 hour (3-day) grace period to post if you're holding someone back or keeping us waiting in an important moment. Inactivity is excusable with proper and prior notice, but after that period, you will be forced to move on by the OP or Co-Op, whether you post it or not. Same deal goes for long-term surprise inactivity.
  11. NPCs are permitted for RP, such as to roleplay small squads in a megacorporation team or other people of interest, but if you plan to commit them for long-term, app them as a proper character.
  12. Try to get others involved as well: Just generally be friendly. Don't turn this into a personal writing haven, try to get others involved, even if you don't want to. RPing with others, at least to most people, happens to be more entertaining than RPing with yourself. A major facet of this RPing is focused on interaction.

APPEARANCE: Stands at a rather large 6'1 and weighing in at 200 lbs when not in full combat gear. Describe as an imposing, attentive young woman by most people. Generally considered attractive an slim build, with obvious feminine characteristics and body contours typical of a woman with regular exercise. Attentive gray eyes and blonde hair, which is cut down to a ponytail. Somewhat pale complexion with no other notable markings, aside from a standard neural interface plug on the back of her neck.

CYBERNETICS:
  • Avatar Class 1 Full-Body Cybernetic Enhancements; replacing the body's physical exterior with a cybernetic body, similar to that of an android. The muscles and the skeleton have also been reworked to become a fully cybernetic system. As a result, one's physical strength, speed, and agility would be enhanced drastically, whereas their resistance to damage would be increased nearly threefold.
  • Avatar Class 2 Full-Body Synthetic Replacements; Most of the user's biological body has been replaced with cybernetic and synthetic organs and parts, allowing for the quicker repair of body parts and injuries using nanomachines. Effectively, the user's body has become fully cybernetic, save for the brain. Traits such as hair color. eye color, or skin pigment, can be changed on the fly using nanomachines, as well.
  • Savant Bioelectronics Oculus Mk.3 Bionic Eyes; granting the user drastically increased visual capability and the ability to access a HUD and the Meganet on the fly, among other computer systems around the world. By extent, this allows the user to see in the ultraviolet and infrared spectrums, as well as night vision and X-ray, with the respective implants.
  • Standard-issue Neural Interface; for interfacing with and integrating into most computer systems, spacecraft, and MFVs.

PERSONALITY: Heroic; natural leader and pretty talkative, but burdened by an overwhelming hubris and sense of invulnerability, as well as a short patience and temper. Quick to get frustrated from menial tasks going awry.

INVENTORY:
  • Raptor-6 Magnum: A high-powered handgun with an impressive kick, the Raptor-6, despite its small size, is essentially a hand cannon, in the arms of anyone who knows how to shoot it well. It is a selective fire, recoil-operated, magazine-fed, large-caliber handgun, with the ability to fire a quick two round burst. The sidearm fires 12.7mm × 40mm SAP-HE (Semi-Armor Piercing, High Explosive) rounds from a 12-round magazine. In addition to a laser light/flashlight, the weapon can be issued with a smart-linked scope, linked to the user's Heads Up Display.
  • Mk.1 Smart Grenades: Standard issue at this point, ubiquitous on the battlefield. Can cycle between frag, flash, smoke, or flare. Can either detonate on impact or be timed to detonate at a certain moment.

BIOGRAPHY: Born on July 1, 2226, Lucy is the twin sister of Joseph Savant, the chief executive of Savant Bioelectronics. Both Lucy and Joseph were present at the Savant Martian Testing Site during its attack in 2235, where they vowed to enact their revenge against the NSF attackers that killed their father and decimated the site. Rather than choosing to go on ahead to lead Savant Bioelectronics herself like her father would have expected her to do, Lucy chose instead to give that honor to her brother, and entered into the security branch of the corporation, feeling it necessary to take matters into her own hands rather than leaving it up to robots. Taking a spot in the elite Internal Affairs division of the Security Branch, Lucy was responsible for rooting out corruption and dissent in the corporation and dispatching a number of criminals, pirates, and NSF sympathizers alike.

Her lust for revenge against the NSF came close when she was involved in a raid on a NSF outpost, in which she was nearly killed by an improvised explosive device at a dangerously close range. Her old body would be gone, but her new body would be stronger, faster, and better than the old. As the first official subject of Savant's highly classified Avatar Program, Lucy was effectively turned into an android, her body and mind preserved in a strong cybernetic body that allowed her to do the one thing she longed for - to enact her revenge on the NSF.

One of the many megacorporations that sprung forth from the fall of the Oxis Corporation, the company that would later become known as Savant Bioelectronics can trace its origins back to the corporation of the same name, Savant Pharmaceuticals. By the time that Oxis launched its space program, Savant had come to dominate the medical field of the world, producing the world's first cybernetic prosthetic arms, as well as as an experimental method to stop cancer using nanomachines. Thanks to a massive black budget funded by the United States in return for providing advanced combat robots and medical technologies to the military, Savant Bioelectronics became a giant in the medical field, with a number of doctors and researchers from the CDC and other hospitals joining the corporation in wake of the gradual privatization of the American Healthcare System - and America in General. By the time the UN became the world's sole governing body, Savant Bioelectronics had outgrown its American masters, evolving into something capable of competing with Oxis itself on some points.

However, Oxis was simply too large and growing too powerful for the mere thought of a company like Savant Surpassing it to even come to fruition, so Savant simply kept to itself while Oxis went to space. In the time between doing this and Oxis's fall in 2165, Savant had created and founded its own private military, refined its experimental cure to cancer, and had begun mass producing robots, seeking to sell them to the weakened Oxis and eventually surpass them, taking the prize for destroying the NSF themselves.

However, none of this happened at all, yet opened a great opportunity to the fledgling superpower: Oxis had taken the NSF with it in its fall, and large companies that once lived off of Oxis's success rose up to compete for the void of power. By that time, Savant had become arguably the most technologically advanced megacorporation on the playing field, simply buying out its smaller companies or locking them into contracts, essentially puppeting them in the process.

At the turn of the century, everyone knew that the playing field was now occupied and competed over by a new, shady, technologically-advanced megacorporation on the block. Specializing in the production of androids and cybernetics for various purposes - be it for work, combat or sex, as well as holding many minor industries in the medical, security, and A.I production field, Savant Bioelectronics had made its presence known in a little over 50 years or so after the fall of the NSF and Oxis. With the advent of the latter's collapse creating a large power vacuum in the Solar System, Savant Bioelectronics, like other new megacorporations, quickly stepped in to fill the void, and to gain the favor of the increasingly bureaucratic UN. Savant itself became the prime producer of combat androids and MFVs for the UN, serving as replacements for it's steadily waning manpower. Pretty soon, Savant androids became ubiquitous, with some of the few synthetics granted with Artificial Intelligence even going out and blending in with the increasingly augmented human population even more.

Savant reached a very large, and very unexpected bump in the road when the NSF suddenly resurfaced after nearly 90 years of total silence. Backed by a new leadership and working on the payroll of a huge black market and anonymous funders, the NSF quickly launched a series of strikes throughout the solar system, attacking the bases and stations of many corporations - including Savant, with its new arsenal of large, powerful spaceships, modern MFVs, and powerful laser cannons. Savant's own Martian testing site near Mobius City, renowned for its security akin to a fortress, was destroyed in the chaos in 2235, while the entire Solar System watched in horror and shock, the likes of which was rivaled only by the 9/11 terrorist attacks, as a NSF strike fighter attacked and destroyed a massive space station above Earth, killing hundreds of thousands of lives in the process.

With little to no response from the bogged down UN too busy focusing on keeping itself together and stopping NSF-backed criminals back home, many corporations like Savant were all present for the UN Security Contract, which gave megacorporations the right to fight the NSF in the UN's name, where they are promised a handsome reward for their actions in the end. Of course, Savant did not even need the "reward" - so long as the NSF was being killed and that sweet spot that Oxis once held was still open, they were more than happy to compete for that space.

    • Goliath MBT - A heavy tank with an even heavier 120mm railgun, capable of potentially destroying MFVs in one hit, provided it hits the MFV at all.
    • PALLAS CIWS - A gauss-based CIWS system commonly mounted on ground emplacements or on space stations. Also comes in a SAM launcher version with vacuum-capable missiles.
    • Spartan AT Missile Launcher - An incredibly simple to use guided AT missile system with the potential to disable or downright destroy MFVs. Can lock on to targets or manually fly to them.

    MFVs

    • "Wolfram"-class MFV - A newer MFV with a notably lighter amount of armor than most MFVs, though not without sacrificing firepower and mobility. Many times these can seen carrying an obviously larger weapon than most... being a two-handed heavy railgun, but the default configuration of the Wolfram's weaponry varies from dedicated anti-armor Super Heavy Assault Carbines (SHACs) and heavy railguns, to even shields capable of being used as improvisec clubs, but mostly a SHAC+shield combination. A solid mix between armor and maneuverability for a variety of situations.
    • "Centurion"-class MFV - Another newer MFV that is the exact opposite of the Wolfram in terms of armor and mobility, more suitable for fixed defense and long-range combat with a large, heavy shield and a massive directed energy weapon.
    • "Valkyrie"-class MFV - Originally, the Valkyries were Savant Bioelectronics' first armed MFVs, though this newer model harkens back to its old look whilst also sporting a new look to it, like most of SB's newer MFVs. The Valkyrie is the newest variant of MFV put out by SB and the most technologically advanced, equipped with a deployable jump pack that may be completely detached from the vehicle should the need not arise, but otherwise comes attached on by stock. The jump pack uses heavy turbojet engines to lift the MFV up and glide, meaning it is not true flight but rather an extended jump, so to speak. This allows it to gain vertical mobility that most MFVs simply do not possess. The armament is diverse, ranging from from SHACs, Railguns, missile launchers, and more, though the default configuration sees it with a SHAC and a "close quarter combat device" built into each of its arms to assist in melee combat. This device functions like an oversized ultrasonic knife, capable of slicing straight through other MFVs as it vibrates at very high speeds.

    Aircraft

    • AV-11 VTOL - Nimble stealth VTOL gunships, based on an archaic 20th century design to a helicopter, known as the "Comanche". Armed with HELLION ATGMs, ASRAM air-to-air missiles, and a powerful 30mm rotary autocannon.
    • Razorback Transport Helicopter - Inspired by a 20th century gunship/transport helicopter, known as the Hind. Functions like a sporting yacht in atmosphere and capable of defending itself with a powerful 20mm autocannon, but otherwise lacking in the weapons category.
    • UCAV-18, Reporting name "Bandit" - Unmanned Air Vehicles functioning as reconnaissance craft, and, on occasion, combat craft. Capable of being mounted with HELLION ATGMs, ASRAM AAMs, FALCHION AGMs, and laser-guided bombs.
    • Talon SSTO - Large transport craft capable of reaching orbit unassisted, but armed with a relatively small amount of weaponry. Commonly used to carry supplies and people orbit, and for traveling long distances on supply missions.

    Spacecraft

    • YF-18X Strike Fighter, Reporting Name "Wolf Star" - Fast SSTO-capable spacecraft that are equipped to engage in dogfights and attack orbital or atmospheric targets, with a relatively large amount of ASRAM missiles, Vacuum-capable missiles, AGMs, and dual 20mm rotary gauss autocannons.
    • YF-20X Attack Fighter, Reporting Name "Thunderbolt" - Nimble and tough, Thunderbolts are SSTO-capable spacecraft with a much larger focus on long-range anti-ship weaponry than dogfighting weaponry, used to destroy orbital targets like spacecraft, and terrestrial targets using guided bombs and a nose-mounted plasma launcher.
    • Darkstar-class Combat Ship - Darkstar-class combat ships are among some of the largest ships to be considered strike craft in the Savant Navy, at 150 meters long and carrying multiple ASRAM missile launchers, Ion Cannons, point defense railguns, and more. It can dock one Talon SSTO for ground operations.
    • Savant Bioelectronics Dagger-class frigate - The largest spacecraft built natively by Savant Bioelectronics, measuring about 300m long and 164.4 meters wide, and 73 meters high. Capable of reaching orbit by itself and armed with a large amount of weaponry, be it plasma launchers, ion cannons, railguns, and ASRAM missiles.
    • UN/SB Calverto-class destroyer - A 385 meter long ship that is 85 meters high and 50 meters wide, the Calverto is a modernized version of the UN Navy's Thunderchild-class heavy destroyers, a relatively new ship based off of an old Oxis ship. Sold to Savant Bioelectronics and now produced in large numbers, the Calverto-class destroyers are essentially identical in terms of aesthetics to their UN counterparts, though carry a different set of weaponry: six long-range heavy ion cannons, 24 point-defense railguns, ASRAM missile launchers, and a heavy electronic countermeasures suite, making it just as elusive as it is armed. It is capable of launching up to twenty Wolf Stars or Thunderbolts, Four talons, and nearly one hundred personnel.

"OPERATION RED DEAD"


After 90 years of total silence following its initial collapse, the NSF was ready to show its face to the world again - and it did so in a bang. The entire Solar System watched in horror as the syndicalist paramilitary group, with a strong new leadership and a fancy arsenal of spaceships and MFV, launched an offensive on the system the like of which had only been seen during the Tet offensive. In a little over a month, the NSF, after having resurfaced from quite literally nothing, had launched successful shock-and-awe attacks on nearly every planet, base, and city in the Solar System, culminating into their ultimate attack on a massive space station above earth, resulting in the deaths of thousands of civilians.

Too busy focusing on keeping itself together and stopping NSF-backed criminals back home, the UN has granted the dozens of active megacorporations the ability to fight the NSF for a handsome reward and ignore several previously-imposed restrictions on their autonomy, so long as they fight in the name of the UN. On the more local end, it has also offered up hefty rewards to anyone willing to capture NSF figures of leadership and bring them back to the International Criminal Court.

"RC RIOT"


Robots are ubiquitous nowadays. Androids and robots with elaborate programming walk and talk among the regular and augmented populace, accepted as normal members of society. The threat of hacking, however has become a particular danger, especially to these robotic and synthetic communities. Recently, there have been multiple incidents of what has become referred to as "remote-control riots" - where robots and synthetics lose control of themselves (at the hand of an outside source) and violently attack everything in sight.

After the events of the "Red Rising", in which the NSF attacked a UN armory with the assistance of a powerful anonymous hacker, a UN inspector attached to the UN ship Thunderchild has commissioned a team of corporate agents, mercenaries, and other individuals of interest to locate the hacker in question and bring them to justice. They are hoping to do this before the annual Robot March on Mars, where a large number of robots and synthetics are expected to attend to march to show their pride. The team will be accompanied by a defecting NSF operative, who has information about the possible whereabouts and appearance of the hacker.

    • Heavy Security Personnel Heavy Security are the more specialized member of Aufstieg's security staff. Usually armed with the G77 PDW and with body armor to match, when they're around you're usually somewhere you're not supposed to be, or there's some very special VIP's around.
    • Containment Team: When a containment team arrives, it usually means death for a very high number of people. Armed with plasma and pusel based weaponry, and remote controlled from a safe locale by a Warmind AI. Either something has escaped containment that shouldn't have, or someone has accessed something that shouldn't have been. and their terminal was tagged. Either way, getting on to the floor, or running would be an apt option.

    • Mark 87 Rotor Gunship: The aerial security vehicle of Aufstieg GmbH, the Helicopter has a 360 view digital canopy, and is protected by an active defense system, reactive armor, and about 16mm of nanomesh Croalloy composite armor, resistant to 84mm HEAT. Armed with a 25mm rotary cannon, capable of loading APFSDS, HE, or HEAB, a 105mm pulse autocannon capable of loading APFSDS, WP, or HE. 4 IR guided AA Missiles, 8 Laser guided ATGMs, 288 superimposed pulse fired rockets, and an optional load between 2 anti-ship missiles, 2 thermonuclear cruise missiles, or an additional 144 pulse rockets.     • Type 32 Exoatmospheric ShuttleThe mainline ferrying vehicle of Aufstieg, the Type 32 uses S.A.B.R.E engines to acheive an SSTO capability, and is capable of holding up to 298 passengers and 200 cubic meters of cargo space. Heavy lift variants can carry upwards of 2000 cubic meters of cargo space.
    • Type 113 Destroyer Class: The Type 113 destroyer is the backbone of Aufstieg's space force. Also the only bone of their space force. Bought off the UN nearly 30 years ago as they were being replaced. the fleet of 300 Type 113s is more than sufficient to guard and patrol the areas of Aufstieg's interest. 400 meters long, 130 wide and 80 high, they are armed with 12 belly and hull mounted plasma lance projectors, while it maintains a quartet of plasma torpedo projectors on a duo of spine mounted turrets. It's also dotted with roughly 140 GUARDIAN CIWS lasers. While not the biggest, baddest set of teeth on Sol, they certainly have what's necessary for Aufstieg.
    • HSV Polo Colony Ship: The end all be all for Aufstieg GmbH. Construction for this titan of human achievement started in 2247 and is the first of three planned to carry humanity through the stars and into the final frontier. While still under construction, the amount of materials and research gone into the Polo. Nearly 75 kilomters long, 8 kilomters tall, and 7 and a half wide, it contains enough supply space, machine shops, inbuilt industry, and cryo pods to sustain 15,000 people indefinitely. Aufstieg has spent an untold amount on the project, and while ahead of schedule, decent estimates claim that the ship will be mission ready within the next year or so.

BIOGRAPHY: Ingrid Grimsdottir was born on the fledgling town Gagarin, Mars, on March 17th 2151. She was born to a Aeronautics Engineer, and a Lawyer, as such, she was never really left wanting in any way. Her early years were spent working on her academic career, attempting to follow in her parents footsteps into a high paying career. And at the age of 23, she enrolled with a then fledgling company -Aufstieg GmbH- as a biomedical engineer. However, at the age of 25, case of "Martian Plague" happened upon the woman. A bacterial infection left over from Mars' previous cycle as a water covered planet, the diseases symptoms mutate too often to be treated properly. The symptoms of the strain Ingrid was afflicted with -MP-C1- include muscular degeneration, biochemically induced paralysis, and eventually cardiovascular failure. It is a terminal illness.

However, her employers found a possible cure for the woman, though not in the traditional sense. The Nexus program was the option, officially, a hypothetical program at the time which would result in a wholly replaced system fro the woman, everything but the brain would be removed and replaced with an augmented alternative. 22 surgeries over 5 months saved the woman, starting from the core body parts, and working their way out, the woman was eventually the first successful attempt at such a thing. As well as the most expensive. Ingrid was at that point all but told that if she didn't sign a very long contract with the company. She accepted, and within the next 5 years she was silently shuffled into the security division.

At the age of 40, she came under the realization that her state as a cyborg, and the Nexus program's nanite focused operation was also keeping her alive for a prolonged period via their biosynthetic repair mechanisms. She entered a mild depression at the realization of this, her time not spent on the job was spent in bars, trying in vain to get herself drunk enough to die via alcohol poisoning, soon it escalated to using more lethal means, various toxins and poisons were tried, though all were swiftly scrubbed from her system before they could take effect. She lost hope in due process.

At 69, she was assigned the job of watching over a rather prospective member of Aufstieg's staff. David Cross, a biosynthetic researcher and one of the few people who actually understood Ingrid's plight. Over the next three years she grew to become rather tight knit friends with the man and his family. Which grew from just him and his wife, to that of a child, Anthony. At the age of 78, tragedy struck the somewhat close group. David and his wife, Kara, were killed, in circumstances Ingrid maintains involved foul play.

So she was left with a 6 year old child she was tasked with caring for. It was quite the sobering experience. Over the next 12 years she spent her time raising the man into what would become the CEO of the company both herself and his father worked for, and she let him go about his own life.Now, she resides in one of the heavy securoty teams. Tasked with doing the jobs that not many others had the know how or courage to do.

BIOGRAPHY: Gordon was born to a long line of corporate executives, both on his father's and mother's side. as such he was somewhat of a spoiled brat when he was a kid, and thanks to the wonders of medical science, there was a 0 percent risk of developing any congenital defects along his lifetime. He spent a majority on his time on academic studies, but unlike his ancestors, he didn't pursue business. Instead he took to law enforcement, and at the age of 24, got his BA in Criminal Justice, and joined up with the NYPD.

His service there was distinctly lacking in any major hiccups. Over his 30 year career in the NYPD, he was only ever involved in 2 shoot outs, and managed to de-escalate 5 possible mass casualty events. More than one occasion resulted in a public address over his efforts and service to the New York public. This, along with nearly 85 completed and closed cases made Gordon a rather well known detective among the NYPD. This along with his rather conservative view on cybernetics and augmentations has made him somewhat of a shoe in for a variety of postings.

When he finally retired from the NYPD less than a year ago, he left with a fortune behind him from his parents, and an offer from Aufstieg for further work. THough his role is now a lot more action oriented than his previous posting, he hasn't shied away from it.

In 2243, Somilune accepted the UN Security Contract, and committed itself to combating the NSF throughout the solar system, however, while Gaubert Janvier was excited at this new prospective market, his partners, Francois Geurard and Hans von Melbach, were far less cooperative, and often expressed severe moral concerns at the direction that their once innocent mining company had taken. Due to this pressure from his colleagues, Janvier kept Security involvement in the fight against the NSF to a minimum.

However, in 2246, Francois Geurard died, and in 2248, Hans von Melbach left the company due to disputes with Janvier. Janvier consolidated his grip over the corporation, and increasingly shifted it away from a mining focus towards a more militaristic, security-oriented focus. Somilune Armes – CC3 Paramag: A modular rifle design using the unique paramag-action design. The unique action performs much like a traditional electromagnetic gauss rifle but does not rely on electricity to activate the magnets by instead utilizing both temporary single molecule magnets of an Iron-Titanium compound and highly conductive permanent magnets.   • SA VBTSI- A wheeled multipurpose infantry fighting vehicle, Somilunes dedication as a light infantry force has resulted in commanding officers eschewing heavier and logistically difficult vehicles in favour of lighter, more maneuvreable vehicles with heavy firepower. The VBTSI (Armoured Vehicle for Transport and Support of Infantry, Véhicule blindé pour le transport et le soutien de l'infanterie) is well protected from small arms fire and explosives. Onboard jamming signals protect the vehicle from IEDs and other planted explosives, while an onboard laser CIWS interceptor beam can intercept and destroy most missiles targeting the vehicle, it is amoured with a composite of Boron Nitrite and Titanium, which can protect the vehicle against many light threats, but cannot match the armour provided by modern tanks or heavy MFVs, it also has full CBRN protection. It is armed primarily with a 40x225mm hypervelocity railgun which fires a tungsten carbide fin-stabilized armour piercing shells from Mach 15 (at sea level atmosphere), to Mach 30 (in a vacuum). INVENTORY:
  • Raptor-5 Magnum - An older, harder-hitting version of the new and sleek Raptor-6 with a very powerful kick to it, and equally powerful 12.7mm x 40mm SAP-HE round, the Raptor-5 is a loud and proud handgun that is deadly in the hands of anyone who knows how to shoot it well. As opposed to the selective fire Raptor 6, the Raptor 5 is semi automatic, recoil-operated, and magazine-fed, and directs the recoil towards the shooter's wrist for greater accuracy. In addition to an underbarrel rail with space for a laser light/flashlight, the weapon can be issued with a smart-linked scope, linked to the user's Heads Up Display, or even a big ass silencer, but comes default with a miniature holographic reticule projector, for allowing anyone without cybernetics to aim the weapon properly.
  • Peacemaker Armor - A custom-built suit of heat-resistant armor derived from the suits worn by Eden-Haven miners, there isn't really anything fancy about the armor save for the fact that it has a few little trinkets here and there and is tailored to suit its user. The helmet has thermal, IR and night vision on its HUD, and a special mode for locating electronics and other objects of interest. Along with an integrated light, the front visor plate and face mask may disassemble or assemble (think Dead Space) at will, whilst the entire suit is vacuum-sealed and fully CBRN-ready. A small jetpack on the back is used for EVA flight and reaching vertical targets, whilst the boots may magnetically lock to any given surface to provide a tactical advantage.
  • OX-18 SPMG - The OX-18 SPMG is an old, archaic Oxis-era pulse rifle-type weapon, yet it makes up for its age with incredible durability, portability, and a ridiculously large caliber. It fires 14.5×114mm heavy machine gun rounds properly meant for destroying tanks, but finds its use in fighting androids and heavy armor-wearing infantry as well due to how easily it can be wielded. It is only used in conjunction with the Peacemaker Armor.
  • EHW "Hercules" Industrial Laborer Mk. 4 - A heavy-duty and physically imposing mech built by Eden-Haven Heavy Works, intended for use solely in Eden-Haven's many treacherous mines. They were built to withstand large amounts of punishment by default and to lift things several times their body weight, while not forgetting about having room for ample mobility. In creating the Hercules Laborer mechs, Eden-Haven unintentionally created the perfect close quarter combat and hand-to-hand combat MFV.. which was a civilian mech. Andrew still keeps his Hercules mech and is most comfortable in piloting it, and often uses it in conjunction with the Howler-5 Bugspray heavy shotgun.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born into a poor working-class family on the slums of Mnemosyne, the largest city on the colony of Venus, Andrew Farslider struggled with a capitulating family, estranged father, and poor school system whilst living under the shadow of the megacity's massive highrises and skyscrapers stretching far into the Venusian skies. Wanting to someday escape the slum life, Andrew pushed himself to the limit physically and mentally, changing grades that used to be 68's into 98's in just under a year, whilst also balancing the strenuous work of working at a mechanic's shop and other odd jobs in his free time. One day, a man representing a megacorporation known as Eden-Haven Heavy Works approached Andrew, offering him an opportunity to take up a job at the company and leave the slums to join the megacity. He enticed him with promises of far better wages than he had been in already, good working conditions and hours, and corporate-sponsored housing and education. At the age of 18, fresh out of school and without a doubt financially incapable of going to Mnemosyne's prestigious universities, Andrew readily accepted the offer, much to his mother's dismay, who immediately demanded that he cancel his employment right away.

What Andrew didn't know was that Eden-Haven Heavy Works was notorious for its awful working conditions and treatment of workers, comparable to slavery in antiquity, at some points. Its contracts were known to effectively entrap entire families into horrible situations, and many laborers who went out to work in Eden-Haven's mines or factories were known to never return at all, or, at least, in a body-bag. Andrew Farslider was going to be the next person on the long list of people that Eden-Haven conscripted into its workforce, and he couldn't do anything about it while his mother watched him depart for Mercury. The UN Venusian Colonial Authority didn't bat an eye to this at all.

For years, Andrew worked behind the controls of a heavy-duty Laborer Mech in the hot, strenuous, and dangerous mines and factories of Mercury, under the harsh gaze of the practically ubiquitous sun and the frigid nights of the Mercurial wastelands. Despite being subject to the worst working conditions in the solar system and exposed to the harsh elements on an almost daily basis, Andrew pushed on, forming a very tight relationship with several of his fellow workers that had endured just as much, if not more pain, than he had. When Eden-Haven offered them time to rest and closed shop for the night, Andrew and his fellow laborers plotted and planned, with the help of several veteran workers that were either old NSF supporters or fighters.

When news of the syndicalist uprising's rebirth hit Mercury, the Eden-Haven workers revolted almost immediately, turning their heavy tools and determination towards the guns and MFVs of Eden-Haven's security forces. The ensuing bloodbath would've been all but a massacre of workers had it not been for the intervention of the NSF Black Mamba Battalion, a paramilitary team of elite MFV pilots named after the MFV of its leader, Gideon Graves. Impressed by Andrew's valiant and courageous use of his civilian mech in combat against the much better armed security mechs, they offered him a spot on the team as its newest member, which he gladly took up on.

After a while, though, Andrew became disillusioned in the NSF's cause for a syndicalist-ruled world free of corporate corruption and mistreatment of workers. Freedom fighting became more like organized crime and so-called heroic raids on the UN turned into messy terrorist attacks as the NSF grew exponentially. After Gideon was killed by a combined UN-Corporate mission on a raid on the UN armory in New York City, and after being exposed to the changing lines between the actual NSF and power-hungry ruffians, Andrew struggles to find where he stands on the line of allegiance, questioning whether or not the cause he is fighting for is worth it. As of now, he is currently under UN custody after defecting from the NSF, where he is bound to be questioned for his knowledge regarding the NSF's rebirth.

HISTORY:
A corporation established more than 2 centuries ago at the turn of the millennium, Hyperion initially went under Hyperion corporation. The corporation initially broke into the metal work scene and transport scene, claiming to have superior quality of metals building upon the Kawasaki metal scandal at the time. As such, it had built it's success upon finding scandals to exploit and using hit men to take their rivals out, slowly it had gained infamy as a corporation built upon blood money. Despite this however, many still flocked to it's products, especially military organizations for their cheap but strong and reliable ballistic weapons.

As Oxis grew however, the company soon begun to suffer financial hardships and some losses. Eventually, the board of directors came to an agreement, and had in fact gave Oxis an offer of majority of their assets. Instead however, Oxis had simply accepted them into the conglomerate and bought out slightly less than their offered assets. As Oxis went towards the new frontier of space, Hyperion wasn't blind to the change and took advantage of this. With their experience in arms and metal works, they began to move towards researching warships meant for use in the void. They soon took up various posts under Oxis's mandate, including an anchorage on Pluto.

However, during the NSF uprising Hyperion had taken this chance. In the middle of the conflict, Hyperion declared full on rebellion and mobilized their hidden fleets on pluto, including destroyers and frigates to reclaim sections of the moon as their own while also taking down smaller factions. By then, it was clear that Hyperion ruled the void with their space armada. With the final blow being dealt to Oxis, Hyperion reclaimed most of their former assets and holdings on the moon and Pluto, along with extra districts on Earth. Soon it rose from the flames of Oxis as the premier shipbuilding corporation

Entering the new modern age, Hyperion soon changed over to Hyperion Heavy Works Industries, primarily because of their extensive involvement in the construction of warships for their own private customers and for the UN along with themselves. However, with the rise of the NSF, the board of directors had to finally reactivate 'Eden' from her sleep. However, she only had one purpose. They had required her fingerprint to authorize Order: Riseon, the total annihilation of the NSF by any means.

SHORT BIO: Born on Helios space station just as it entered it's first week of official service, 'Eden' was the first child of the president of the corporation. She was born on the station and spent most of her life aboard the station, usually living in solitude with androids mainly accompanying her in her spare time. She was taught and trained from young to be the heiress to the company but in 2242 she had suffered an accident onboard involving the airlock. Despite the fact that she had survived, her systems were too weak to sustain itself without mechanical help. However, in the interest of preserving their investments the board of directors decided to put their initial investments to good use. As such, she was placed into preservation, with mechanical aid assisting in keeping her body alive while she takes the form of a holographic AI.

Despite this however, she had in fact still taken a somewhat 'human' form, having a body double who had sadly been crippled stay on earth to act as her, receiving orders through her personal assistant android that acted as the double's assistant. She still remains the executive of the corporation even with the body double, who still receives orders directly from her through the wheel chair. Her namesake is from the Garden of Eden, although those in the higher echelons of power are aware that it is because her true name sounded like Eden.

STANDARD INFANTRY WEAPON:
HHWI 'Ophelia' Type-P Heavy assault rifle The standard weapon of choice for the Hyperion Security Division, the 'Ophelia' line of assault rifles was the main product of the early Hyperion corporation, it was considered an excellent improvement as compared to it's previous Type 301 model. Although it still came equipped with model kits, the gun itself was the first mass produced and sold gun that was developed with plasma technology. It was capable of firing in 12 round burst shots or continuous but slower shots. The gun itself is capable of remodeling into various other types of weapons, although the assault rifle variant is the most popular. Despite being designed half a decade ago it is still popular among standard forces and remains a good standard choice for short to medium range engagements
STANDARD INFANTRY:
Standard appearance

Well trained and equipped, Hyperion forces are a blend between robotic and human, employing both in front line combat roles. Most human and robotic soldiers come equipped with the standard 'Ophelia' model rifle, a transmitter unit and 3 fragmentation grenades. Most troops are used as garrisons in their facilities, although most are concentrated at Kure. Some forces however, primarily the 1st and 2nd Divisions are employed as front line units against the NSF ready to sortie against any possible attack against either their facilities or station.
STANDARD MFV/MECH:
Standard MFV, 'Oberon' type unit Variant 64

The standard Oberon-64 MFV, the 'Oberon' was the initial brain child of 'Eden', created with a small chassis but massive fire power enough to engage with multiple mechs at the same time with no difficulties. Despite this however, there have been multiple issues in it's overall development and production. Most issues included giving them enough power to fly about with jet engines and cramming as much as possible into the small limitations given by 'Eden'. This has resulted in them being the pinnacle of quality over quantity, armed with a heavier 'Ferdinand' plasma cannon that fired explosive or concentrated shots. They're mainly employed in defense of Kure and various other facilities.
STANDARD COMBAT AIRCRAFT/SPACECRAFT:
'Arcadia' class cruisers

The standard line of cruisers employed by Hyperion as the mainstay of their armadas that cover the solar system, the Arcadia is one of the more reliable ships that Hyperion has placed into mass production. Created at the outbreak of their assimilation with Oxis, the ship itself looked ahead into the future of ships. Chief of Design then, professor Wilhelm Marion had foreseen that battles were to be fought between ships soon enough and that ships were bound to slug it out. However, the ship at the time was considered the pinnacle of ship design and power.

In recent times however, it has begun to grow slightly inadequate with missiles being used. Despite this however, the ship is still widely fielded by Hyperion for it's sturdiness and mass production capabilities. The ship itself stands at 218 meters, with a travel speed allowing it to move between Earth and Mars within an estimated 9 hours at maximum distance. It's designed to carry dual engines, a standard ion engine and a backup plasma engine while it runs mainly on fission. It carries a standard armament of 2 triple barreled laser cannons, meant for long range engagements or bombardments. At medium range it can employ a suite of 50 missile launchers while at close range the laser cannons can switch to another firing mode which allows for rapid, concentrated close range shots as distance which can drain out energy is nearly irrelevant.

Despite it being slightly outdated it still stands as one of the backbones of the Hyperion naval armadas.

'Esencia' Class Starfighters

The main starfighter of the Hyperion Armada, Esencia class Starfighters make up the bulk of Hyperion's star fighter core and are renowned as fast, maneuverable and deadly in the hands of a skilled pilot while adequate in the hands of a newbie. It was designed defensively, made to operate close to their defense sectors and bases but made up for it with speed and fire power. However, due to the speed it is considered too fast for newbies who may not be used to the fact that the boost almost doubles and nearly triples the speed under the right conditions in space.

Designed by Chief of Aeronautical design Dr Tricia Aria, the fighter was designed to operate well within atmospheric and void environments with speed and firepower to take the enemy out. At the same time it was meant to be compact to fit into the hangars of Helios station. Thus, the Esencia was born and it had entered production relatively calmly. Not much is known about it. However, what is known is that it cannot operate in void conditions for too long for fear of damage but are excellent at atmospheric flight and mainly come equipped with 4 plasma cannons for dog fighting, although other variants have rearmed it based on their conditions.

    Formerly a subsidiary of Oxis Corporation, ADVENT went independent in 2165. Headed by then-CEO Rudolf Arlo, a visionary, the company would, in 2178, revolutionize the field of medicine by developing new (and patented) methods in cloning technology, a process that was stable, cost effective, and less time/resource intensive than previous iterations. ADVENT would go on to dominate the biomedical market, expanding its focus to provide medicine, equipment, and advance medical procedures. By the 2190's, ADVENT was a name often found in many hospitals on Earth and her colonies. Rudolf Arlo retired in 2194 (passing in 2199) and control of the company would pass to his eldest son, Jansen Arlo, who continued in broadening ADVENT's influence until his death in 2229.

    In the early-23rd Century, ADVENT would increasingly come into conflict with UN regulations and anti-corporate movements, largely in opposition to human cloning and gene manipulation. In response, ADVENT established itself on Uranus, a backwater that had seen few long-term developments, founding the colony of Haven on Miranda (the fifth largest moon) with Eden beginning construction a few years later. By the end of the decade ADVENT had relocated all functions and facilities to the Uranus SOI. There, in the outer territories, ADVENT was free to conduct uninterrupted research without moral or ethical boundaries to limit their advancement. Several corporations would join ADVENT and the Uranus Colony would grow quickly and exponentially as a territory promoting the progress of science above all. By 2231, ADVENT had cloned its first human. Three years later the methodology had been perfected. In 2240, the corporation experienced a breakthrough in genetic therapy and manipulation, leading to the first human being cloned without a genetic donor in 2248. (A revelation that has yet to be made public.) ADVENT and its subsidiaries maintain control of the Uranus SOI, and although profits drive research, the corporation maintains its pursuit of human advancement regardless of consequence.

    The current CEO of ADVENT, Wilson Arlo is a visionary, just like his father and grandfather, and believes in advancing humanity to its absolute potential. Born on Venus, his life was one of privilege, but, despite this, he did not squander himself on petty or inconsequential pursuits, dedicating himself to the pursuit of knowledge, attending the best schools and universities (on scholarship) to attain a doctorate in Biology (specializing in genetics). At 31 he would marry with his daughter, Cecilia, being born the next year, however, in 2228 his family would be killed while on Venus, the victims of an unsolved crime. Upon taking control of ADVENT, Wilson would pursue heavily the idea of human cloning, and in 2231 would use genetic material of his deceased daughter to clone the first human. A scientific breakthrough with personal motivations.

    In recent years, ADVENT has taken interest in interplanetary politics. Observing at a distance but unafraid to offer its opinion on matters, or, as necessary, involving itself to sway happenings to beneficial conclusions, be it bribes or subterfuge. Ironically, ADVENT has offered support to the United Nations, believing that a unified mankind is to the betterment of all. Of course, the corporation has lobbied for a loosening of restrictions on genetic research and manipulation, maintaining its "science first" attitude. In short, Wilson Arlo seeks a new horizon for humanity, as a species and a culture, but doesn't necessarily wish to be the figurehead of a new tomorrow, merely the one to push as needed. Altruistic in his own twisted ways.

STANDARD INFANTRY WEAPON:
    KDT TYPE-47 Submachine Gun
    A standard ballistic SMG utilized by the APSF. Moderate damage and accuracy with a high rate-of-fire. Lightweight construction with a durable polymer frame. The weapon can easily be modified to include various scopes and augmentations, and an electronic interface allows for HUD interfacing. Despite the weapon's basic nature it is favored for its reliability and ease-of-operation.
STANDARD INFANTRY:
    Atlas Private Security Firm
    The basic gear assigned to units participating in defensive operations within the Uranus SOI and abroad. Armor prioritizes mobility without sacrificing protection, is sealed to provide limited EVA (ten minutes of oxygen), and by default the helmet includes a HUD, thermal optics, and neural interface support. Additionally, the armor can easily be modified, allowing for ASSAULT, RANGER, and dedicated EVA variants to exist without extensive customization (amongst others). Policing units utilize a stripped-down variation (for high-risk emergencies) or a standard security uniform. APSF prioritizes training as opposed to cutting-edge technology to allow for extended survivability when against a numerically or technologically superior foe. Additionally, units are tasked primarily to provide defense or escort with offensive operations being limited to small-scale search/rescue, extraction, and target elimination.

    KDT A-10 Surveillance Drone - KITE
    A lightweight drone used for surveillance and reconnaissance. Carries no weapons but utilizes an extensive suite of optics and audio technology. The standard model is cheap yet sturdy enough for extended usage and is a common sight in the Uranus SOI. A security variant makes use of more sensitive equipment and limited stealth options.

    KDT A-45 Security Drone - KLIO
    An inexpensive yet outdated, humanoid drone used to supplement ASF units. Updates to the V.I. have allowed the A-45 to remain competitive, however, it is outclassed by traditional military units. Conversely, the A-45 is popular on the civilian market due to its reliability and can be found performing various tasks in industrial, commercial, and private domains.

    KDT A-65 Security Drone - KOTOS
    A new-model drone boasting an advanced V.I. and polymer construction, the A-65 is currently undergoing trials on Ariel.
STANDARD MFV/MECH:
    KDT M-20 Security Drone - KIWA
    A compliment to the A-45, the M-20 is large four-legged drone, standing just taller than the average person, and is utilized most often as an area denial asset due to its limited speed and lightweight armor. Standard weapons include a rotary CIWS chambered in 7.62mm and dual Gauss Rifles mounted on the back. Alternatively, the Gauss Rifles can be exchanged for missile or rocket pods depending on the situation, however, the loadout cannot be changed in-field. The V.I. is limited and will default to asset protection or, if possible, RTB should chain-of-command be compromised.

    KDT M-100 MFV - KOMA
    A heavyweight MFV most often seen defending ground-based installations. The four-legged walker utilizes a high-caliber railgun as its primary weapon with a simple Gauss Rifle and supporting missile/rocket pods as a secondary. Different nonstandard loadouts can be utilized with some modification. The MFV is slow so relies on thick armor to protect itself. The M-100 can support a two-person crew and is rated for EVA with several hours of life-support, but oftentimes is deployed as an autonomous area denial asset with limited V.I.
 
STANDARD COMBAT AIRCRAFT/SPACECRAFT:
    KAT CR-02 - NYMM (x2)
    A modern cruiser, the CR-02 is a sleek, modernistic design prioritizing speed and stealth to heavy armor and weapon systems, and is suited for extended long-ranged engagements. Weapons include 24 missile pods, 30 CIWS, and 8 Gauss Cannon Artillery. State-of-the-art computer and NAV systems allow for a reduced crew size. The vessel is rated for limited atmospheric entry. Length is 600 meters.

    KAT CR-01 - NEKT (x5)
    An older design, the CR-01 is slow but heavily armored, making it the perfect choice for static or close-range engagements. Weapons include 18 missile pods, 12 CIWS, and 2 Gauss Cannon Artillery. Unlike the CR-02, the CR-01 cannot operate in-atmosphere.
    Length is 450 meters.

    KAT FR-04 - LAER (x16)
    The most commonly seen of the ADVENT warships, the FR-04 is designed to escort cargo freighters traversing the space between the core worlds and the outer territories, and can quickly intercept and engage perceived threats with relative ease. Lacks overall firepower but is very maneuverable for its size. Weapons include 10 missile pods and 20 CIWS. The FR-04 can operate in-atmosphere.
    Length is 340 meters.

    KAT GS-04 - LEYT (x???)
    An automated support vessel, the GS-04 is able to pack considerable firepower into a small frame given the lack of permanent crew. Primary armament includes a ship-length Magnetic Accelerated Cannon, 4 missile pods, 12 CIWS, and 2 Gauss Cannon Artillery. The GS-04 is rated for limited atmospheric entry. Length is 200 meters.

    KAT GS-03 - LAET (x21)
    The GS-03 is another common starship seen outside the Uranus SOI, most often as escorts to cargo freighters and larger warships, however, alongside the GS-04, the GS-03 is predominantly used to defend ADVENT territory from intrusions. Weapons include 6 missile pods and 8 CIWS. The GS-03 is rated for limited atmospheric entry. Length is 250 meters. Civilian and cargo variants are produced as well.

    KAT TR-09 - RETH
    A simple cargo freighters used to ferry goods and supplies between planets. Lacks weaponry, thus is given escort by ASF warships. Three variants of the TR-09 exist. The standard cargo variant (painted gunmetal grey), a pressurized passenger transport (painted stark white), and a militarized carrier (dark grey w/ red accents). The TR-09 cannot operate in-atmosphere. One of the larger starships used by ADVENT at 800 meters in length.

    KAT TR-03 - RENA
    A small transport used to ferry a small number of passengers between planets. Length is 80 meters.

    KAT SF-10 - KELL
    An agile drone used by the ASF for intel-gathering, target acquisition, and a myriad of other roles as needed. Often carried in large numbers by larger TR-09 transports. Most unspecialized variants include a simple chain-gun for general defense against debris and, at times, smaller starships. Missile pods, Gauss Cannons, advanced radar equipment, etc. can be added via modular support. Civilian variants are often used in construction, search-and-rescue, monitoring weather systems, scientific research, and moving small payloads between moons and stations. Some variants include a cockpit and limited life-support. Length is 10 meters.

From there, Junrai slowly grew its way to the top within its respective industry, making billions from their super drug which allowed them to research more and expand outwards. With Junrai producing more medication whilst making the active decision to moving into the area of private healthcare thanks to the increasing privatization following the centralized government of the UN. While now growing to be huge like most other rising corporations, it was never the same success of Oxis. With the corporations largely controlled the skies above as humanity fled else ware, dwarfing almost everything else. Junrai's business largely remained on earth and aggressively advanced across the globe, starting private clinics on nearly every single Mega city, something only slowed by the creation of their own armed ambulance service. Kick starting an unforeseen corporate war between other private healthcare companies dubbed "The Ambulance Wars." Something that would only end in 2150 shortly after the fall of Oxis, and the panic that came afterward.

With the collapse of Oxis, Junrai quickly pounced on the opportunity to reach the colonies, and did so, moving their industries deeper out into space, acquiring a number of smaller companies to do so. STANDARD INFANTRY WEAPON: Komatsu Type 120 Assault Rifle "Buddy" -
A select fire pulse rifle which fires a 7.62mm caseless cartridge, the rifle is constructed from ultra-light alloys with an titanium alloy and high impact, temperature resistant plastic outer-casing, the rifle being fitted with a interfaced red dot optical sight. The rifle itself only weighting around 2.8kg with a fully loaded magazine.

The Firearm operation powered by a electromagnetic motor within an enclosed system powered by a high power Lithium-ion battery pack located within the stock of the rifle. The firearm operates by producing a strong pulse of energy which propels the cartridge forward at near hypersonic speed, producing very minimal recoil. It has a rate of fire 1200 rounds per minute, although this can be tweaked along with the velocity produced via the settings to better fit the need of the weapon. Standard issue magazines are 7.62mm 80 round dual stack boxes, although 120 round box magazines exist both within 7.62mm and 8.6mm for the support weapon conversion kits.

The weapon can be interfaced with as standard with most Komatsu arms, allowing for a precise ammo count and accurate targeting reticule to be fed into any combat heads up display, and allows the use of special "smart" ammunition types such as high explosive fragmentation air-burst and the anti collateral damage cartridges.

The weapon is commonly issued to most security services in use by Junrai, including tactical security elements, trauma teams and quick reaction strike squads. Although the Komatsu type 115 PDW is more commonly issued to close protection teams and internal auditors.


STANDARD INFANTRY: Komatsu Battle Dress Uniform. -
A standard issue combat armor that is issued to all security staff, which comes with a nanotech synthetic body armor and a combat helmet with a face shield that provides a heads up display and communication headset. The armor can stop stop most types of projectiles.

Upgraded versions are provided to trauma teams and quick reaction strike teams. With the trauma teams being issued with higher quality nano reactive armor, whilst the QRFT units are given powered suits.

STANDARD MFV/MECH: Komatsu Onryō MFV-

A standard MFV for Junrai, the vehicle stands at twelve foot and is made with a variety of high quality alloys which makes the vehicle highly durable against hostile enemy fire. In terms of weaponry, the MFV is fitted with a electromagnetic gattling gun chambered for 30mm depleted uranium caseless ammunition, a 40mm automatic grenade launcher and two rocket pods holding 2.75-inch unguided rockets. Other equipment which are used are a deployable circular saw, smoke launchers and deployable airal recon drones.

STANDARD COMBAT AIRCRAFT/SPACECRAFT: Hydra VTOL transport

The standard transport vehicle used widely within Junrai, used for daily transport and as ambulances, with the trauma teams having a specialist version fitted with medical equipment for stablisation and door mounted 12.7mm machineguns to cover deployed teams. The vehicle itself is capable of high speeds, allowing for a four minute average response time.


TYPES OF UNITS:

Standard Security teams -

Standard security teams are the most basic units available to Junrai, and are primarily used as security guards and basic security forces for medical facilities across various facilities. Due to the risks towards medical staff from potentially angry or violent clients, they are armed with a basic combat vest, sidearm, tazer and helmet with net communication system. They can generally deal with most problems at hand but if the problem gets worse, they have better body armor, PDW's and assault rifles on hand to deal for more serious threats towards staff.


Trauma Teams -

Trauma teams are a specialist unit designed to save life of clients who are close to death or are seriously injured. The majority of the employees are either qualified medical professionals or are ex military with a lengthy service record and are almost always fitted with military grade cybernetic enhancements. The teams are issued with Nano-reactive protective armour vests and are kitted out with military grade gear, often rolling out in a standardized squad structure with nine contractors total during a standard deployment, being commanded by a single squad leader.

When deployed on a ambulance run, they typically deployed from a particular version of the Hydra, which is fitted with an impressive suite of medical equipment designed to stablise a patient, and for offensive capabilities, the hydra is fitted with 12.7mm door guns capable of being interfaced and loaded with special ammo types, and has two drop pods containing Namahage combat androids controlled by an AI with a kill switch, only used when an area is too dangerous to send in human operators.

    • Two medics, who are equipped with optical camouflage cloaks, a trauma medical kit with various high end medical stims and a deployable stretcher, a Type 115 PDW and grenades.

  • Fireteam two, or alternately the support team, is primarily to secure the the area and protect the medical team at all costs.


    • Fire team lead, who is armed with a standardized load out of a Type 120, grenades, special ammo types and breaching tools, such as C2 and a mini sledge.

    • Rifleman, who is armed with a standardized load out of a Type 120, grenades, special ammo types and a man portable multi shot 40mm grenade launcher with high ex, smoke, tear gas and stunner rounds.


    • Tech specialist, who is equipped with a standardized load out of a type 120, grenades, special ammo types and a wrist mounted data pad which is interfaced with a neural link to provide information and to manipulate electronic devices that may hinder their approach.

    • Designated marksman, who is equipped with a long barreled higher caliber type 120 chambered in 8.6mm, fitted with a higher power interfaced sight. Along with a type 98 sidearm, grenades, special ammo types and a personal spotter drone.

The team are under orders to use appropriate force to get to their client, administer first aid and bring them to the nearest Junrai medical facility, with the squads have no qualms about killing others to save the life of their client. The client is charged as soon as the call is placed.


Quick Reaction Strike Teams -


Quick reaction strike teams are the heavy hitters under Junari's payroll but are rarely seen, being kept on call for when shit seriously hits the fan or when Trauma teams require serious backup to save a client. Always on call, these troops are issued with an experimental version of the standard issue nanotech armor, a powered exo-suit allowing them to carry heavier equipment, along with heavier weaponry, such as heavy anti tank weaponry and heavy anti personnel machine guns. Split up into a squad based structure, with their being a rifle fire team, being issued with standard Type 120s, and the heavy weapons fireteam is issued with Type 150 12.7 machineguns and anti tank weaponry.

Quick reaction Strike teams use a much heavier version of the Hydra, having much heavier weaponry, being outfitted with a 30mm repeater auto cannon at the front, and 20mm rotating door guns.


Close Protection Teams -

Close protection teams are a much more discreet option for private protection, hired primarily from special operations units and military intellegence, and are throughly vetted before being recruited, being paid extremely well and highly respected within the company. They are issued with a type 115 PDWs and a sidearm, and are outfitted with kevlar lined fitted suit, nanotech lightweight combat vests, reactive nanotech ballistic face masks and are typically given some of the best military grade intellegence augmentations available, such as a military neural link to provide accurate squad information and encrypted mind comms, internal stim injector fitted with relex boosters and pain blockers, and a MK-5 combat ocular implant with an impressive suite of abilities.

They also have plan clothes units, who follow and provide protection to Junrai executives, their families and the high class clients during medical related business. Being armed with a basic sidearm and outfitted with a neural link between clients.

However as the wealthy millionaire began truly looking into the impoverished world around him, something in him to his surprise was touched. He began buying up contracts and smaller firms and actually came through on project due dates. This reliability gained the company much positive attention as they’d began bringing parts of Africa into the modern age in a timely manner at an affordable price.

The company prospered greatly after Africa faced yet another record length drought, increasing demand for desalination plants and water drilling sites. With many more contracts to fill and more money than he knew what to do with, the millionaire continued to invest in his small morality project. While Mikaili builds heavily on their positive reputation of building social values and institutions, they shine much less light on their heavy handed dealings against armed resistance groups and militias across the continent. Entire militia compounds seemed to go silent overnight as well. UN inspectors were baffled at such a development. At this rate the millionaire had invested every fiber of his person and wealth into the company. His aspirations for the corporation having been passed on and carried out by each executive after him.

STANDARD INFANTRY WEAPON: The MIST typically employ the M05 Sonic Rifle which as its name implies uses focuses sound waves to do damage. Focused sound waves use over pressure and concussive force to kill their targets. The weapon can be set to non-lethal settings which disorientate or incapacitate normal human beings, while potentially damaging electronic sensors. The rifle has the potential to discharge electric bolts which stun targets or shut down robotics.

Alternatively the Troopers will use the M01 Pulse Carbine. A more conventional pulse rifle designed for more conventional combat scenarios. Great for dealing with armoured enemy combatants, or when civilian by standers do not need to be worried about.
STANDARD INFANTRY: Mikaili Industries Security Task Force - Troopers make up the bulk of the Security Task Force. They are chemically augmented humans with months of training for both combat, and non-combat situations. Their senses and abilities are further augmented by their armour. Armour may be modified depending on occupation varying from up-armouring, to active camouflage. They do everything from perimeter security, to police training. Their armour is environmentally sealed with 60 minutes worth of emergency oxygen. Their helmets come with a full suit of communications gear, and optics. These including thermals, infrared, night vision, movement, and substance identifiers. Their HUDs also come with an IFF, movement sensor, compass, and ammunition counter. Weapons are bio-metrically linked to their owner. They are a highly motivated and loyal fighting force not afraid of challenges. MIST is a large and very flexible fighting force on land, the sea, in the skies, and the space above. Troopers are also paid in corporate stocks, making them engaged in the company's well being. The common trooper is well collected and is capable of fighting through naturally crippling injuries thanks to the use of nanomachines and chemical augmentation/pain suppression.
MIST Agent - Chemically/biologically augmented, MIST agents are Mikaili's best. Years of experience and training have made these agents perfect for most any field. While perfect for undercover work, they are also incredibly adept at combat, often should an agent stay with the mainstay MIST division, they would be high ranking strike team leaders. Agents enjoy a generous amount of freedom and benefits away from the standard trooper to boot.
Mecha Pilot - Cybernetically and chemically augmented pilots are neurally linked to their mecha frames, controlling them like an extension of their body.
M-32 Support Android - The semi-autonomous android employed by MIST can be modified for a variety of different scenarios that would usually be too dangerous for human life from basic combat to hazardous operations. The droid meets the pleasant middle ground between price and quality, though due to base design, the droid is naturally less durable than dedicated combat droids, however is more agile and maneuverable than the aforementioned.
STANDARD MFV/MECH: MiH-22 - A 5 meter tall mecha, the MIH-22 is a tough, and reliable mecha pattern commonly seen assisting the MIST. Seasoned mecha pilots make excellent use of the mecha’s 35mm arm cannons, shoulder mounted 70mm rocket pods, and shoulder mounted ATGMs. These weapon systems can be switched out for other weapon types like grenade launchers or larger/smaller caliber weapons, or gauss weaponry. Each suit comes with a dedicated trophy system and electronic countermeasure suite. Pilots may opt to use mecha sized railguns.
MiM-27 - A 7 meter tall mecha that is a true Mikaili Industries force multiplier. Fast, sleek, and efficient. Mecha pilots have access to a full suite of state-of-the-art electronic warfare packages, communications, countermeasures, and more. They are armed with powerful anti-MFV weapons like directed energy canons, and coilguns. The MIM-27 is a humanoid mech that does not sacrifice power and speed for protection.
STANDARD COMBAT AIRCRAFT/SPACECRAFT: Phantom multi-role fighter - The Phantom features high speed, reliable maneuverability and banks on its strength to dodge or avoid fire all-together than take fire. The Phantom features electronic countermeasures, and other masking systems to cover its profile to prevent lock on. The Phantom uses 35mm dual-linked chainguns, 8 Air-Air missiles, A pair of 80mm rocket pods, a nose-mounted railgun, and a pair of Air-Ground missiles
MiA-12 - Mikaili's premier drop ship features a powerful array of large caliber guns, rocket pods, and countermeasures. The VTOL features active camouflage and comes in an unarmoured transport variant.
TYPES OF UNITS: F911 AMPV - The Armoured Multi-purpose Vehicle used by Mikaili Industries Security Task Force sees deployment all across the solar system. The armoured vehicle features resistance against most small arms infantry fire and a light countermeasure against conventional explosives. Wheels are puncture proof, EMP resistant, and feature extra air for hazardous situations.
Enforcer APC - The Enforcer features a pair of heavy dual linked 35mm cannons, and a 12.7mm machine gun. The Enforcer has been up-armoured from the AMPV to be resistant to heavier infantry based anti-tank weapons and cannon fire.
Ravager MBT - A more conventional piece of armour employed by MIST, the small tank works in large numbers. The tank features a main coilgun, a coaxial 14.5mm machine gun, and a trophy system.
