MSFC Cup and Solidarity Cup - 2018 (TWI ONLY)

Postby Athara Magarat » Mon Jun 11, 2018 10:23 pm

THIS IS A PLACEHOLDER IMAGE!

What the heck is this?

Namaste, everyone! This is the Mesder section of the qualifications for 2018 IFAF Western Isles Cup to be held in ???; for national teams which are members of the Mesder Sea Football Confederation (MSFC).

What the heck do I do now?

Submit your teams. For example:

Code: Select all
Offensive:

Defensive:

Goalkeepers:

Defenders:

Midfielders:

Forwards:

Formations:

What's more?

There are three sub-regions for the MSFC - the Four Passages and North Mesder Sea, the Wake Islands Area and the Central and South Mesder Sea. The MSFC is allocated 8 berths, to make things more easier...

Four Passages and North Mesder Sea - 4 nations; 1 berth

Wake Islands and Argus - 8? nations; 3 berths (once the Argean issue is finished; North band Central Argus nations chould be here)

Central and South Mesder Sea - 10 nations; 4 berths (once the Argean issue is finalized; South Argus nations could join here...)

Plus there are NPCs like the Black Isles. I propose that the Black Isles be allowed to participate as a Central Mesder nation. The nations in Central and South Mesder sub-region will be divided int two groups.

My other proposal is that since there are only 4 nations in the Four Passages, we will start with them.

What do I use for my lineup?

http://lineupbuilder.com/new.php

OR

https://www.buildlineup.com/

How will this be fair?

The stats you give will be worked with

https://www.leaguesimulator.eu

And please...no 10 & 10 teams (the ratings go only up to 9...you fools :P )! As the IFAF regulation board has stated ("I am kidding, this was agreed upon OOCly in the IFAF thread after we felt that MSFC teams needed some nerfing :P ") each of you will be allocated 14 points.

Let me explain here;

Athara Magarat's men's national football team for example will have -

Offensive: 6

Defensive: 8

14 in total. Average offense but above okay-ish defense (just don't call them "shorties" okay?). Or you could have -

Testlandia for example will have -

Offensive: 9

Defensive: 5

(Yay! Testlandia's team will rock the stage...and get knocked out of qualifiers at the very beginning with that sort of defense...congrats, Leeroy Jenkins...)

What we mean is, you are free to do as you please but do choose wisely. Meditate for at least 10 minutes before using those points (and of course, we will make sure MSFC nations here nerf their ratings). Thank you for your time. I will take my leave for now.

Playing Style

Cosian footballers play with the essence of CONCACAF-style football: Routine use of stylish techniques combined with the dirtiest plays known to man. Most are stubbornly proud of their footballing talent*, and they won't resist the urge to pull any tricks on their opponents (as well as their teammates). At least they're (usually) more easy-going and cordial off the pitch.

From my sport factbook:

The Norsan football team has a distinct and iconic way of playing and philosophy. The Norsan team will typically play with two centerbacks, a very deep holding midfielder, two very high fullbacks, two central midfielders, and a fluid, interchanging front free, as well as a Linksweeper goalkeeper. Tactically, the Norsan team will usually have a high amount of possession, utilising the sweeper goalkeeper and deep midfielder as third and fourth defenders, allowing the fulbacks to push further up the pitch, becoming wide midfielders or wingers, depending on the circumstances. One of the midfielders (usually the more creative one), will push up into the number ten position, where he can add to the attacking players. The three attacking players may also be joined by the two fulbacks pushing up the pitch. The attackers usually consist of two wider players (though not wingers, this role being filled by the fulbacks) and an orthodox striker, who should be able to play with both feet and with his head. Players will regularly interchange positions with other players during a match, much like in total football. Running off the ball is also a very important part of Norsan tactics, and this footballing philosophy has lead the Norsan team to great success over the years.

Edit: Actually naw, f*ck it. If people like Norstham are going to be dicks about the whole thing then I'm not going to be part of this circlejerk. Sorry that I haven't played soccer in awhile so I had to look stuff up on sites. The positions that I listed were all from what I could learn from those sites, and the formation and tactics were also learned from online. Back when I played soccer the only experience I had was from the offense, never played defense and I the most I learned was from a forward's perspective. I would not say that it was an OP team as flaws were built into it, although likely by looking just at points you might not realize it. Also I think its hypocritical coming from someone who basically just put forth a team with no flaws. None-the-less, sorry that I don't know as much as you might like about the sport, I will not be participating, enjoy yourselves.

Okay, weird situation is weird. Seems like this entire thing with Polar cropped up out of the Discord so I’m going to intervene here and hope nothing awful happens.

Norstham: While I cant disagree that Polar’s original post and his tactics in particular appeared misinformed, bashing on him for it is not helpful to anybody. Which is why I mentioned a critical point of using LeagueSim over Xkornate, to avoid this problem entirely. So I’m going to have to ask you apologize to Polar directly some point soon.

Polar: I am sorry I couldn’t see the warning signs and prevent this from happening. The idea Orsandia had with the IFAF and the Isles Cup is to build the TWI community in a new and exciting way, Michgonia already proved this in Gael and Orsandia himself last year. I wish you can forgive all involved and resubmit your team to the competition.

We are extremely sorry for our failure to prevent this. As Dormill and Stiura has said, the issue should be solved with an apology and resubmitting of the team.

We hope that we can progress ahead cooperatively with this.

Alright listen up, everyone! The ratings need to be nerfed a bit (and that includes you, Thromsa. Your match may have been done but you are yet to head for the hosting nation).

You will each be given 14 points. Use them as you choose but be careful. I have provided two examples on the initial post. Thank you, have a nice day.

Keep submitting your teams.

Also, notice to MSFC nations in the Wake Islands region (and Agrean nations who want to join the MSFC...), the Wake Islands region qualifiers will start in 23rd June: Saturday or 24th June: Sunday (depending on how fast you guys submit your teams). You still have three/four days to submit your 14 point teams.

And if you want to host the IFAF, go here and place your bids...THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT BIDS IS 6/21/18, 12:00 AM PST
