Just wondering if I should go absolutely pure gobbo only, or be a bit flexible and convert some "gretchin" runtherds, or use battlewagons with gretchin crew for example. Do Gretchin even have HQs by the way?

I had great fun with one unit of 20 Gretchin in an open-topped Battlewagon with a Deffrola and no other upgrades.

...That is awesome. Why have I never heard of these guys before?
A "Harvest" construct appears as a vehicle-sized, amorphous mass of rippling wet flesh that silently floats above the ground. Its mission is to search for sentient matter to consume for its masters, and it pursues this goal with near-mindless persistence, never tiring or relenting. Upon finding a target, a Harvester uses its metallic, pincer-tipped tendrils to pull its prey into its lamprey-like mouth. During this "feeding," the prey's head is separated and preserved in a semi-transparent sack located at the construct's back, storing the brain matter safely for future Slaugth feeding.

Well the answer to that seems easy enough, get the Kroot to eat them, birds eat worms for breakfast.

It was the store anniversary and one of the events was "Pick a random model from the mystery box and paint it up within a month", so I assumed it'd be free, and that it'd just be an old sprue or a tactical marine or something. Instead I pull out a Callidus Assassin box and the manager starts preparing the till, and I was too embarrassed to explain that I'd been mistaken and didn't want to spend any money, so I bought it.
None of my armies, current or planned, have room for a Callidus Assassin.

The problem is when the prey realizes they outnumber you a million to one and can literally bury you with their numbers. Wiki lists it as the reason why they keep their existence on the low.
