You can also just mark your connection as being metered, then it will just fail to download updates until you turn it off.

Avast is constantly identifying Norton files as "trojan horse viruses"

Honestly, it's not far wrong.
Preach!
Mum pays for a Norton subscription. Ten devices for $30, whoooo. You cannot get decent coverage for $3 a machine. If it was decent they wouldn't be offering it as free bundleware with other, marginally more useful software downloads/installs.
I'd prefer ESET, which we use at work and I'm honestly pretty impressed with, but "abloobloo we haven't had trouble with Norton". That's because I installed AdBlock and NoScript, you cabbage!

Hell, there are free antiviruses that are far better than Norton. And also aren't fucking adware.

An excellent example of why allowing unrestricted immigration of people with a very different culture might not be the best idea ever :P

Is it time for replacement?

If it goes over 80%, then it's definitely time for replacement.

Since you didn't actually ask, I went with the MSI B350M "Gaming Pro" mITX, for an AMD architecture. It only has 2 RAM slots, one primary PCI-E-3 expansion, and a much smaller, secondary PCI-E-2 slot but it was affordable.
When I was looking at an Intel-based build, I was looking at the ASRock H110M mATX for the same reason. This also features two RAM slots, one PCI-E-3 and two PCI-E-2 slots.

Ah yeah, I want one with more than 2. My current one has like 6, if not more.
