Camelone wrote:"Of course I will go before your ruler, I mean no disrespect towards you or he who rules this lands. Please lead the way sir I trust in the justice of the Maker to prevail." There was a smile upon his face as he gestured for the captain of the guard to lead on as he dissipated the fireball in his hands and made sure to lean his spear up against a bookcase as he knew he would be unable to bring it in the presence of the ruler, especially such a powerful fireball. The title Tyrant was funny to his lips he has never heard of it being used so willingly by a man, tyranny and oppression were tied so tightly on the Isle that in the back of Dearthair Doethiann's mind he had a bad feeling about this. The display of sorcery by some of the assembled magicians did peak his interest, he had not seen anyone wield the forces of the Creator except for himself, he has yet to see any display of magic from this woman Morgana.
Action: To go with the guards to stand before the Tyrant.

Despite Dearthair Doethainn's earlier display of power, the soldiers and guards rally, visions of greed filling their heads. Though some are hesitant to approach the god, convinced of his divinity, others step forward somewhat trepedatiously, reinforced by some of their fellows arriving from the city itself to investigate the commotion. Their leader speaks, in tones that brook no argument.
"God or man, I am afraid you will have to come with us, outlander. This land belongs to the Tyrant, and those who sojourn upon it must have his leave. Especially if they wield strange powers."
It is not a request. Some of the magicians, though stunned by Brother Flame's appearance, conjure arcane manifestations of their own- hesitant bolts of lightning that play between fingers, bolts of chaotic energy held in fists. If he does not come quietly, it is unlikely the guards will hold back.

His words reverberate with the men and women of the city, and though some turn their eyes on Morgana in suspicion, the captain of the guards does not waver in his charge.
"Be that as it may, outlander. Morgana serves the city at the pleasure of the Tyrant. You too will go before him, now, or you will be returned to the First Flame by my sword. The charges against you are serious, and must be investigated as well-" and here his eyes flickered towards the recently imprisoned witch with a hint of malice "- as the charges you lay against the woman Morgana."

Away the thief sprinted, twisting and turning with the speed of a man accustomed to evading the law. Up the side of a building he swarmed as if it were level ground, and in moments he was gone, the guards passing by underfoot as he hung motionless in the shadows. Anon he climbed up further, a window left open allowing him egress into what was, without a doubt, a house of great wealth. Wealth which, upon his departure a few minutes later, much weighed down the fortunate thief with gold and jewels of great beauty.

Brother Flame's audience with the Tyrant is short, and relatively uneventful. After he explains his supernatural abilities and affirms his worship of the Maker, the lord of Nemos cautions the young warrior from Tine against using his powers to oppose the city, as any ruler might. His tales of Tine are of particular interest to the Tyrant, but anon Dearthair is released from his arrest, and granted the right to come before the Tyrant again as he wishes, for as a man of power he may need to be consulted by the lord at other junctures.

The captain seems unimpressed by Morgana's effort to win his trust, and looks at her with the same expression that had flickered across his face at Dearthair's accusation, but this time more plainly seen; suspicion. As the party travels back to the Tyrant's palace, he does not speak, but he seems troubled. Anon, before the doorways of the throne room, he opens his mouth once more, as if to comment, before merely shaking his head. At a gesture the captain and his warriors depart, and one of the sorcerers glances at Morgana.
"So, lady Morgana, do you think now might be a time to actually begin teaching us some of the magic you have promised the Tyrant? Disruptions aside, today has been far from productive."

Though Waylon's display of wealth and skill is impressive to the men and women of the various criminal organizations, they are accustomed to operating independently, and his repeated suggestions that they should bow to his expertise generate more resistance that acquiescence. Thieves, pirates, assassins- these are people which do not hold to any authority after his long years away, and some lucre, while appreciated, will not change their habits of long association.

The task of learning how to derive meaning from markings is a difficult one for the man from Tine, and after much struggling and puzzling he nearly gives up. In frustration he ceases trying to force himself to make sense of the words, and to his surprise finds that the tome he had been inspecting begins speaking to him, a soft voice that only he can hear, but which is only too pleased to instruct him on the contents of the books contained within the Library. It does not answer his questions, or appear to do anything aside from lecture, but it is nonetheless an easy way to learn ought which the Maker had given for the deities to know- it appears that the Library is mainly filled with mundane knowledge, information about the world around the gods, not the higher mysteries. Still, a useful resource, certainly.

The Library of the Maker stubbornly keeps its secrets. The mages might have learned their powers from here, but Morgana's perusal of the volumes that she has collected yields nothing of mystical value- not a single fireball, nor a smidgen of an apocalyptic ability. There is much discourse on the symbiosis of the plants of the Wildwood, and the migration habits of a creature called the kruvis kar within the depths of the Endless Ocean, but that is hardly the information she was seeking after.

Morgana continued to read the texts that she found. Unfortunately for her, she was still not at luck, with the texts being just basic and trivial informations about the world and the Maker. She did find few magical texts, but it was too useless for her to learn any magical spells or learn about the training of the mage.
