It is very difficult. That is one reason you shouldn't try it.

Suggestions for the first 31 issues

Postby Triangle And Square » Sat Apr 14, 2018 4:07 am

Here are some suggestions that I have for the first 31 issues (if changes are even possible):

Issue #0 could have an additional option where you make voting compulsory only for certain people of a range of ages, for example from 20-45. Those who are older can be exempted from compulsory voting, but may vote if they want to.

Issue #1 could have an additional option where you make the divorce rate as it's.

Issue #2 could have an additional option where you make the Auto Industry produce eco-friendly cars only.

Issue #3 could have an additional option where you only encourage people of certain ages to read it, say 13 and above.

Issue #4 could have an additional compromise. For example, you could let the government run at least the same amount of industry as private industry.

Issue #5 could have more humour injected into it. For example, you could make schools teach gambling to students and give those students a certificate which allows them to gamble, and those who don't have the certificate can't. Or, if you want to be more 'ordinary', you can also make gambling illegal up to a certain age, say 18.

Issue #6 could also have humour injected into it too. For example, you could make @@LEADER@@ the religious adviser, and talk about how @@LEADER@@ knows everything.

Issue #7 could have an additional copy of option 3, but instead of banning meat-eating and simply saying to 'free the animals', you could emphasize the torture that animals get through in a very serious manner, and then talk about limiting the amount of animals killed everyday.

Issue #8 could have an additional compromise. For example, making nudity only legal within beaches. You may also define a beach for additional humour.

Issue #9 could also have an additional compromise. You could maybe say, limit the amount of @@ANIMALPLURAL@@ killed to only a small amount and protect the others.

Issue #10 could have another 'go further' to option 2. You could maybe just boost every industry that is dependent on business; in other words, increase taxes more than just through social welfare programmes. I believe the speaker of this option would be a excellent opportunity to add some humour to it, say @@HE@@ was really mad or something.

Issue #11 could also have another option which satisfies everyone. For example, you could raise political freedoms, but the dictator side of the government would still exist and they would have their own say too.

Issue #12 could have another option where you introduce the death penalty only to extreme cases (for those who really deserved it).

Issue #13 could have another option that is similar to option 3. Maybe just don't speak bad words or something?

Issue #14 could have a compromise where the military is strictly regulated.

Issue #15 could have another option that specifically targets nations without the death penalty to show what good the death penalty actually does to criminals.

Issue #16 could have a compromise where you allow both workers to protest and employers to fire workers without any reason in the name of both political freedom and economy.

Issue #17 could have another option where you limit the amount of money corporations can donate to political parties.

Issue #18 could have another option where you leave the tax burden 'as is', or maybe someone claims the way it's being spent is not useful at all.

Issue #19 could have another option where you let only people above a certain age consume marijuana, say 18.

Issue #20 could have another option where all guns must be registered and tested safe for use, rather than banning them.

Issue #21 could have another option where you let the police survey major public areas, rather than using surveillance cameras to watch them.

Issue #22 could have another option where you only allow some of the less rude remarks, but you can ban the ruder ones.

Issue #23 could have another option where you strictly regulate the mining process, or maybe strictly regulate how the uranium would be used.

Issue #24 could have another option where you fund for the public transport, or some other things not currently mentioned in this issue that you can think off. Or maybe you can leave it to your citizens to decide.

Issue #25 could have another option where you strictly regulate the genetic research.

Issue #26 could have another option where you persuade people to donate their organs by returning them money or something.

Issue #27 could have another option where you make it mandatory for high-income earners to donate their organs.

Issue #28 could have another option where you legalize euthanasia, but people can only do it if their cases are extreme.

Issue #29 could have another option where you allow less brash ethnic groups in TV shows only.

Issue #30 could have another option where you raise taxes to make better cars so that the cars in your nation would become more popular.

I like old people, I don't wanna kill old people, and if I did, would I get my 90 life expectancy back, or would I need to build it back up again

There's even a name for it. It is called "geronticide", if anyone was wondering.

Which is fine, but there really needs to be a reason for the change. You suggested 31 new options just because, including issue 20 which already had a new option added a few years (I don't remember exactly when) ago.

There will always be way more options than what is presented in any given issue. The trick is to only have the ones that make it a compelling and balanced issue.

Edit: Could you just post with one nation? Constantly switching puppets makes it a little confusing who we are responding to.

Do we have any issues specifically about high death rate/low life expectancy not caused by intentionally killing the elderly?

I'm aware there's a draft up for it; that's why I'm asking. :P

Hmm, I don't think so. We have plenty of issues about various health subjects, of course, but I don't recall there being one that's specifically "a lot of people are dying", though it does seem like the kind of thing I could easily forget and it's not easy to search for.

Hmm... alright, I'll go ahead with his draft review, then. :)

If it ends up in the game already, well, it's not like it was that much work. :P

Is there an issue about Multilingualism? Or what are there for ones that are for issues having to do with languages. Sorry for the broad question. It's a big deal here in Switzerland and I see a lot of issue potential in it.

Thank you!

Hmm... So there was a controversy in Switzerland because of some cantons (states) taught French only in middle school or even wanted to strike it out completely of the curriculum. Could that be a good issue premise?

Now that I think about it, there is currently no reversal issue for nations that have already chosen a policy of multilingualism to repeal it and go back to being monolingual. (You're just expected to receive the same issue again and pick a different option next time.) Do be warned that there is a high chance that multilingualism is not currently tracked as a policy by the game, but I'd say that's not a reason to avoid tring to write an issue about it.

(There's #909 2., "bilingual @@DEMONYMNOUNPLURAL@@ are viewed with suspicion", but it's actually about something completely different.)

If an editor sees this, it would be really good to know if there is something like this.

Multilingualism isn't a policy that we keep track of. However, feel free to write an issue about this topic. We can use other stats to restrict the validity.
