No, dont wana be a battery.

The second one is very unrealistic, given that far better and easier to make batteries exist.

Also, the creators of The Matrix originally planned that humans would be used for data processing, however it was changed to energy storage so a less scientifically literate audience could understand.

And this is the Korea we are supposed to support... Anyone else feel like we are doing it wrong? Anyone?
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

At this point we just need to annex the entire peninsula.

The only reason that humans were introduced as organic batteries in the Matrix was because the studio was of the opinion that the average moviegoer was too mentally limited to understand the concept of a network. In reality all those humans are used as processing power.

Drill holes in the seabed, drain the oceans to cool the earths core! And...burn the wind? Ah, it's 3/4. :p

You know, the side effects might be detrimental to human societies.

Ehh, they weren't really living anyway.
Besides, I prefer the layered matrix interpretation, Zion is just another layer of the matrix.

Ain't going to call my killer robot fucking Sparky, i going to call it Joe, fuck you OP nah jk no deat plz.

The Combat Robot concept is a very touchy one, i'm ok because they could be reduce the human casualties and maybe the mere sight of one can avoid engagement because they are KILLER ROBOTS.

However there's many, many variables, like the missions, the nature of the conflict, their construction, their role in tactical or strategic duty, and so on.

And don't start with the A.Is please.

Better leave it to the cyborgs, vat-grown boys, the mutants or the space marines, damn it.

I presume the OP is going off this April 5 2018 Guardian Article. There was no link in the OP.

Puportedly, no such program exists in KAIST, but let's say for sake of discussion that it is...

Ethel mermania wrote:If it can exist, it will exist. The Chinese will exhibit no such scruples.

This is a nutshell.

Arms races will continue to exist so long as there are human beings, and groups of human beings.

If Korea isn't doing it (and KAIST claims it isn't), China certainly will.

To not develop these technologies is to merely ensure extinction or subjugation at the hands of those who will. To allow this willfull abstention and self-weakening in the name of "morals, ethics" or something equally delusional is nothing more than irrational and suicidal virtue-signalling that is equal parts baffling and contemptible.

I'd be more respectful of the movement if there was clear traction of it in the illiberal big countries like China and Russia, but there is none whatsoever. Why should they listen to these naive fools?

KAIST btw is a publicly-funded, i.e. state-sanctioned/owned institution, which according to the rankings is anywhere from the top-300 to top 100 academic institutions, and certainly one of the highest in Asia. If they were developing autonomous weapons, I highly doubt the boycotts of these whiney Western scholars will noticeably slow them down.

As for Google and their hangups, then maybe they shouldn't have engaged in Project Maven in the first place. Guess that government money was too good to pass up tho...

Trade wars be damned! Meanwhile, the artificial intelligences currently managing the global stock markets have yet to discover that they can wield themselves as a weapon in order to destabilize humanity. Give it time, though. Their algorithms keep getting improved and fine-tuned.

But cows would make better organic batteries, so no need to use humans for that purpose. As stated before, the Matrix dumbed down the reason the machines kept humans alive and even made the effort to breed them on an industrial scale: more processing power for the massive neural network created by the machines after they won the war against the human aggressors.
