Daily reminder that there were slave-owners in Kongo who sold many of the slaves which those white plantation owners used. So what then? Are all black people to be associated with the plantation system?

Libertarianism was first used, in a political sense, to refer to communists, and sociology has a whole lot to do with politics and economics. Still, I think he's really not providing good reasons on this point.

No, what I've failed to recognize is the importance of a fucking game mechanic to a political discussion.

Anyway, does the Plantation system have its own part in the shaping of race relations in modern America? Sure it does. But is it the be all end all definition of what makes one white? No it does not.

Anyway, the origin of American slavery comes from the need for cheap workers resistant to old world diseases, hence why European empires imported so many of them.
