“Ah, from the south islands!” Reijas said excitedly, jumping up. That was the term they used for ASHCA. Very nice. He frowned. “Hmm...looks to be in some distress.”
Carala poked her head out from the cargo hold. She went up the stairs and closed the double-doors that led below and headed into the bridge. She immediately started moving The Endless Sun towards the passenger vessel. When they were close enough, or she felt they were, she tapped on the ceiling.
“Yeah Car?”
“Fire the flare.”
Reijas did so thrice to get the attention of the AHSCA flagged vessel. After he did that he took a nautical light, held it up, and started morse coding.
“Friend islander vessel, Mokastana Marshite ship Endless Sun coming. Are you in need of aid?”

Holy Marsh wrote:“They're in trouble. Half-power. Sick. Under attack. Broken mast,” he said, relating what he heard as the information came to him.
“Well, we can't solve all their problems but we can solve some of 'em. Tell them we're coming to aid them,” Car said. She angled their mast as best as she could towards the point she estimated was best and gave the engine as much as it could handle considering the damage and fuel line being cut. It would take a bit but they'd get there. And once there they could give most of their cargo, likely all of it. Anything to aid those in need.
In due time they made their way towards the foreign vessel. They nearly scraped the side before they launched two grappling hooks from stations on the bow and stern. They launched over the railings and then latched onto them. The two Marshites then scrambled up the line with great speed as their ship was now tethered to the larger vessel. In a flash they made it over the top and onto the AHSCA vessel, big, broad smiles on to meet whoever was sent there to greet them.

Take my vitals tell me how I'm doing." she was sweating a bit and her breathing was labored "if this ship can't make it to port soon we're going to have a pretty high fatality rate. Especially with the children it's very likely to kill them if not treated."

The message came in and the Captain read it quickly. Just what he needed, another naval vessel in the storm. At least this one was cordial but it was being chased by pirates as well.
“Any chance we can get a rescue unit to that vessel?”
“Weather conditions are still to rough for a flight rescue, but we might be able to get a Tomahawk craft to them.”
“Good, get one loaded up and on route to the vessel that seems to be the magnet for all the trouble today. Maybe the Tomahawk can help tow it out of the storm.

Holy Marsh wrote:Jungle fever? Sounded adventurous. Dangerous, but adventurous! Of course both Marshites knew not to make light of such things. Their trips to and from the southern islands had taught them any great values of respect and love for their foreign brothers and sisters, but it also showed them that the underdevelopment of the land could lead to some awful problems. Still, neither one of them wanted to mess with that stuff.
Reijas put his hands on the shoulders of the kneeling island, beckoning her up. “Come on, buck up. Can't have the captain of the ship looking all downtrodden, and the Holy Marsh always looks to the strong to aid the weak,” he said with a smile. “You can do this. You wouldn't have been chosen by the Divine otherwise!”
Car nodded. She was more focused on what they could now. “Speaking of the Divine, she brought us together by providence. We are a small cargo operation. In our ship we are holding about 1300 cubic feet of food and medicine. We'll give you all of it. Not sure how long that'll keep you afloat, but anything is enough.”
“Also,” Reijas said as he looked around, “can you show me your mast? Have any duck tape? A lot of it, maybe?” He said with that ever-present smile, but a twinkle in his eye that told everyone he wasn't kidding. “Also, you're beautiful.”
Mokastana wrote:The OK-PCL-1 Tomahawk Class Patrol vessel was an older design, purchased back when Mokastana was just regaining control of its own waters. Most were now in storage, kept just in case the Federation was in deep trouble. Quite a few found themselves in police hands, many port cities relying on the boats for interdiction at sea, but a lucky few remained in Military service. Coastal and Shipping lane duty may not have been sexy, but it was still welcoming.
Fighting the waves the craft finally made it into visual range of the wounded craft, a steamship with a broken mast and what looked like a small cargo vessel nearby. Lieutenant Eva Dorado picked up her radio receiver and broadcast a signal to the two ships:
“This is Naval Lieutenant Eva Dorado of the People's Federal Navy, we are here to offer assistance based on SOS signals issued. Please respond.”
She turned to her second in command and ordered him to fire a flair. Solid white to help everyone see better in this storm, plus a flair would get everyone's attention. A signal lamp would soon send a similar message in Morse to the vessels in case their radios were out. For now, she stayed back and waited for any sort of response.

Not sure how to describe it except as the single most useful tool on the planet besides faith. Anywho, onto the rope- do you think that'll work?” she looked over to Reijas. He nodded.
“I think so. I mean, not perfectly. Duct tape would be better.”
“Absolutely.”
“Everyone should have some.”
“Absolutely.”
“Rope will do. Cara, I'll go with these fine people to get some rope. Lots of rope. If you wanna go start unloading some of the cargo...” he allowed the thought to trail off.
“Yeah. I'll need some people for that. We'll be offloading a lot of food and some medicine. Then we can quick-dismantle two of the grapple guns. Meet you at the mast?” She said to her brother, who nodded along.
“Yeppers. Alright, time to rock and roll. Captain, are you a vegan or anything like that? Tell Cara,” Reijas said as he trotted away with the crew heading towards the rope.
Car waited a moment before receiving the answer and moving down. In due time she would be back where they had connected. “Need one person with me,” she said as she she scrambled down the rope and headed toward the cargo area. She opened it up and hoisted a larger grapple gun, pushing it into place. She fired it over the railing, sending a weight on board. “THREAD IT IN AROUND THE RAILING AND DANGLE IT OFF THE SIDE,” she bellowed over the waves to those topside.
Once it was done she started pulling a crank. The weight started to drop until it was on The Endless Sun. She then took the threaded line and tied it to the base of the grapple device. A few seconds later and some tying and voila, connected.
Using carabineers she started connecting cargo boxes to the line, showing whoever had come down how to do so. Using the crank she started hoisting the cargo up to those waiting above, relying on aid to make the process quick and easy

If there be anyone who lived through the First World War and remember it, would know that whistle was for a ship 3 quarters the size of the Olympic. Yet for those who didn’t know what that whistle’s tone was for, experienced a rather strong chill through their spine. “A ghost ship” would be the only explanation if this ancient tone wasn’t heard in one’s youth. To make the situation worse, the ship couldn’t be seen by anyone through this storm, not even Her Lights. This tone wasn’t one of distress either, but rather a call sign for her nation of origin, whatever nation it may be. All that She expressed were 2 low horns and a short third horn that was too short to hear by anyone but the ship itself.

The bridge was quiet except for the storm outside her ears perked at the sound of a low whistle "Odd." She thought, ships had horns of course but this whistle was a lot older. "Whistles." Aina said
"Captain?" Kiri asked her curious
"Someone is calling. Let's try to signal back sound the whistle of us and tell the signal girls to flash again."
"Aye captain" Kiri braced herself grabbing her gear and heading out across deck aft to inform them again. The two signal girls in the aft cuppola began the next round of signaling. "Well at this point we have the Marshites with us and likely the Mokans are still nearby anyone would be daft to try and attack us again."
"Aye, all right Tsuki let's signal again." Shino ordered her companion
"SOS SOS SOS" Tsuki simply flashed seeing if they could at least be seen first.

However, the whistle that was in response gained a response. This time in a horn, an old horn. An ancient and aged horn that had experienced many years out in the sea. Again, sending those two long drawn out tunes. Yet the 3rd short horn was heard unlike the whistle. Whoever was out there now had unknown company.

"Well captain, what do you suggest?"
"I'll keep sounding. It could be a passing merchant ship just trying to avoid collision. But the horn seems antiquated like a ship could very well be one of ours."
"You think?"
"Well I don't know for sure. But just have the girls keep flashing hopefully we'll be on the same length we can catch glimpses of each other. We just have to let the waves carry the both of us."
"Aye Captain." Kiri bundled up her coat again and returned to the cupola to tell the two girls signal on. Aina kept on sounding off the ship's horn in the meantime to keep a back and forth going.

This time Tsuki returned to the bridge "You wanted me, Captain?"
"Shh take a listen. The horn, tell me is it trying to signal?"
She took a listen most of her expert was in light signals but sound signals weren't too far off. "It sounds like it, Captain. I think they're just sending out MORSE."
"think we can talk back?"
"I'll do my best, Captain, keep in mind I'm trained more in light and flag signals rather than sound."
"I'll try anything at this point. Go ahead." She allowed Tsuki to sound off the ship horn replying simple "Y-E-S." Simple message to convey they were being heard
