Let's be real, the amount of scandals in this administration has rendered anything below the level of secret genocide as absolutely unworthy of news attention as it will disappear from the papers by the end of next week, aka the next 'scandal'

At this point it wouldn't matter if Trump's sextape was released. For his supporters that's alpha male next level, for his adversaries that's one more piece of evidence that Trump is absolutely and utterly immoral (although it loses all legitimacy as they're not religious in any form and it's quite acceptable for this generation) and for anyone who doesn't care, they don't care even more, though the video might be quite funny, not least because Trump is obese.

In fact I feel that 'scandal' is quickly becoming like 'racist' and 'lol' et al, it's a placeholder word with no real meaning that seems to be thrown at everything nowadays.

Perhaps when Trump was saying that he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and it wouldn't dent his numbers, he was predicting the future. Both sides of the spectrum are responsible but the biggest culprits are the media, who in a matter of about 10 years (~2006-2016) have turned from sources of information to disbursements of fake news. It began with MSNBC and Fox and now everyone is going at it. Journalism doesn't matter anymore because no piece of news can hold its weight longer than a full week, and the amount of crap has turned people on both sides from rational reactions to total spite - anything that will hurt the other side is good and worthy. Hey, I engage in it too.

Same across the pond. The Russian Embassy in the UK actually sent a get-well-soon letter to the Policeman who was poisoned in the Skripal case and they're able to do that because the British establishment have hurt their reputation and trustworthiness so hard that at this point they're as trustworthy as the embassy of a lifelong adversary.

Only 51% of the UK believes Russia is responsible according to ICM Polls, and that's with the British government throwing its absolute full weight behind this case and campaigning on every front. If that doesn't show that people have simply lost trust in the establishment on both sides, then I don't know what does. Even if it was Russia, Corbyn's very tame response would have slaughtered him 30 years ago. Today, it really doesn't matter as those who formed an opinion about his security positions have only had them reinforced, while those who didn't don't see it as a serious enough issue to see his credentials.
