PERSONAL
Personality: Because of Erika's muteness, she is a quiet yet stern woman. In addition to her muteness, Erika is a woman of actions rather than words; preferring to get her point across through facial expression, hand gestures, and the subsequent results of any given assignment. Just like Beethoven, Erika is stubborn as a mule and certainly picky to certain things in the world, especially in music and clothing.
She has a deep disgust and distaste to Rap, Techno, Disco, and Dubstep music, going so far as to even call it, "Die vier musikalischen Greuel, die der Mensch je geschaffen hat." (lit. 'The four musical abominations that man has ever created.'). Furthermore, Erika is further disgusted and especially sensitive to the clothing that people where, often clearly indicating a hint of disgust on her face whenever she spots anyone in scandalous clothing.
Biography: Born in Deggendorf, Germany, Erika Alwin was the second/last daughter to a family of scientist. With both mother and father working at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) as full-fledged professors, the family only thought it reasonable to pass their family profession onto their second/last child.
At heart, however, Erika was a mild-mannered and often curious girl, and science wasn't exactly something she looked up to very well. At a very young age, her parents attempted to encourage her to become a scientist like the rest of the family; however, it became apparent that Erika wanted to pursue artwork than physics.
Music ran through Erika's heart and mind like pure water on the Danube, so it became clear to her parents that Erika had no intention of seeking a life as a science professor. While not very happy with their daughter's decision, there was nothing that Erika's parents could do to change her mind as she enrolled in music classes.
Though as a way to make her happy, Erika's parents decided to send her enroll in schools abroad in Vienna, Austria. While only 15-years-old at the time of her enrollment, Erika was up to the challenge without a second thought of doubt; however, her older sister was not so forgiving of this act, and decided to exact revenge.
One day, as Erika stepped on board the train destined to Vienna, Austria, Erika felt oddly ill minutes after the train took off. Thinking that it was just motion sickness, Erika decided to tough her way through the ride and wait until she got to Vienna. Unfortunately, her body was increasingly getting worse no matter what she did.
Halfway through the journey from Munich to Vienna, it didn't take long until the stewards on board noticed that Erika was terribly ill. Doing what any steward would do, the steward asked if Erika was alright, whom she nodded positively despite her grim appearance; however, when Erika reached for some headache pills, she made a horrifying discovery.
The pills were laced with uranium powder, which was deduced by Erika rather quickly when she noticed a note inside the pill case. While whoever written the note seemed anonymous, Erika knew from the handwriting that her older sister was the mastermind behind this deadly poisoning.
While the Stewards panicked and reverted to emergency protocol, Erika made herself comfortable as she feared her life was ending very soon. Fortunately, she finally woke up to find that she remained much alive and healthy; however, she didn't expect to be softly greeted by the enchanting sound of music.
She figured that there was a radio or vinyl record in the medical room; however, when the nurses walked in only to ponder confusingly as to where such calm piano music was coming from, something wasn't right. Aside from the ordinary medical equipment in the room, not everything felt right.
Erika should've been dead after obtaining such lethal radioactive dosage; however, the nurse was equivalently surprised that Erika would be very much alive and well despite all this. Unfortunately, it was only when the nurse left Erika alone for now that something else bothered Erika - something that made her realized one more thing.
The nurse and Erika herself never realized until it was too late that Erika was mute. All this time, Erika only nodded to the questions of the nurse, which was why the nurse never realize that Erika actually lost her voice from the radiation poisoning she endured; however, there was something else after that which changed everything.
The audacity of her older sister to poison her via uranium powder was not just nefarious, but it was traitorous for the 15-Year-Old Erika. Her anger, confusion, frustration, and rage coursed through her like a living flood; however, the once peaceful enchanting piano music suddenly erupted into madness.
Not caring by the fact that the music was awakening some of the other patients and alerting the nurses outside, Erika arose in anger and mustered the strength to walk outside of her room. Despite the nurses and doctors insisting Erika calm down, she plowed her way through everyone, with nothing but her own music acting as a shield.
As she suspected, Erika was back in her hometown of Deggendorf; however, her native Bavarian lands was not where she left it. A few years had passed since Erika left on that fateful train ride, which was evident by the slight urbanization; however, her older sister was still somewhere in town, and Erika was hell bent on finding her.
Harmlessly pushing the police aside as she walked all the way back home, Erika finally found her older sister, whom was almost about to drive away to the DIT when Erika stopped her dead in her tracks. Still in her reasonable fit of rage, and without a voice, Erika yanked her sister out of the car and proceeded to viciously pommel her to death - where their parents were watching from inside the house.
The police eventually caught up and quickly subdued the enraged living composer; however, Erika's older sister was already a mangled messed by the time the police and government agents arrived. With Erika knocked unconscious, the scene laid before Erika and her older sister's parents was unbearable.
With one daughter viciously beaten to death over a crime she committed to poison her younger daughter, and the other now subdued and taken into custody, the Alwin family was unsure how to react. Fortunately, the government agents on sight intended to keep the event a 'hush-hush' and make sure no one remembered what they saw.
In the meantime, when Erika awoke once again, a strange man from an organization called the Guardians came into the interrogation room while the police were taking her statement (albeit in the form of a written confession due to her muteness). Once the officers left the room, the man told Erika he knew about her.
The man knew Erika was innocent the entire time, but the vicious killing of her older sister upon her own hands made her community uncertain about her and her family. Subsequently, the agent gave Erika a choice, and that joining the Guardians was her only option for a life and redemption. Seeing no alternatives, Erika reluctantly accepted and before she knew it, she was in Switzerland filling out paperwork and readying for combat training...
