Its unlikely that the Chinese will permit US military action in proximity to their borders, just like in the Korean War. If the US can keep land forces at a distance, then perhaps they will sit tight. China doesn't want to be contained a la the Russian Federation.

We will start by part:

Ever since Trump arrived to the White House, the Supreme Leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, has been testing new ICBMs that could reach the west coast of the USA (most notably the state of California), the US president has been calling for military intervention in to North Korea. As he quoted in a Fox News news flash: "North Korea will meet fire and fury as never before seen", end of quote.

Then again on new year's eve, Kim Jong-un sended a message to the US president that,and he quotes: I have a red button in my desk", with President Trump replying back: " My red button is bigger". To make matters worst, the PRC (People's Republic of China, or simply China), have also replied on fighting against the United States supporting the DPRK.

Later on the Pyeonchang Winter Olympics, both Koreas have been talking on peace relations with each other, but the United States has seen this with suspicion, most notably for President Trump, as he did not posted on his Twitter account on supporting the Olympics, with its strange, as he posted on Twitter during the Rio Summer Olympics of 2016.

President Trump announced that be will be moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and recognize Jerusalem as the official capital of Israel.
This has been controversial with the world, most notably the Arab nations. As multiple Arab nations have been protesting the issue, as they claim west Jerusalem as the official capital of Palestine. The government of Iran have been on the bait to even fight against Israel to declare west Jerusalem as the capital of future Palestinian Nation. The President of Turkey has said that if this happened, Turkey will cut relations with Israel.

Multiple EU nations, most notably Emanuel Macron, President of France, has said that this could be "a dangerous action". Matters got worsen, as may violent protest from Palestinians flared for a very long time, with most notably, flag burnings, poster burning, etc.

Russia

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has been arming its border with North Korea with anti-aircraft artillery, in order to defend its self from a high tension war between the United States a d North Korea.

President Putin also has said recently threats against the United States with Russia's nuclear weapons, most notably a bomb called " Satan 2". Supposly this bomb can cause more destruction than a normal WMD.

I think that WWIII and war in general is inevitable. Especially with all our technological advancements and mastering of global communication, although you'd think it would have the opposite affect and actually bring a species closer together. But no, we're talking about humans here. And as long as there are humans on this planet, people will be trying to kill eachother, and coming up with new ways to kill eachother, and utilize all the resources at their disposal to kill eachother. There's nothing that can be done to stop or prevent that, it's just a cold reality that we all have to accept. You can have all the globalism, all the peace summits that you want, but none of that is going to change human nature. It's sad to say that we are inherently violent and self-destructive as a species, but it seems to be an undeniable objective fact at this point.

As for WWIII happening soon or in the near future, it's unlikely given all the internationalism that we have with the UN. I mean it's whole purpose is to prevent something like WWIII from ever happening. But, let the world gradually turn against and abandon the UN. I think we'll be back to dropping nukes on eachother in relatively no time.

Humans aren't that stupid to annihilate themselves, are they? Stupidity should hopefully have a limit here.
Though if it WAS a conventional war, the damage, both moral and material, that WWIII would inflict on humanity would be pretty much almost irreversible. I mean, WWII was the costliest and deadliest war in human history that occurred 79 years ago. With modern technology, who knows how much a conventional WWIII would cost?

I agree. But also, Putin can't expand his 'power projection'. The thing is, the Russian economy is not that strong to support his military needed to power project like the US. Especially with that Crimean debacle, the Russian GDP contracted by 3.7%. He should just play the waiting game and improve the economy instead of intervening in other affairs. But with the sanctions put on him, his economy is not going to go well.
