...Well that was one hell of a non sequitur.

How can some of you still not see how utterly dangerous and lethal the Net Neutrality repeal is to our free and democratic society?

So how is it more of of a threat than literally trying to take away people's right to vote?

Because the sharing of information online helps people gather for political campaigns which can influence the vote. Without net neutrality ISPs will get to favor one political candidate over the other at the expense of consumers. Also could influence the flow of information that criticizes their favourite politician.

What good is getting the vote out if that vote has already been effectively suppressed?

CNN's website slowing down if they run stories about Trump is worse that some people not being able to vote at all.

Yeah, but voter suppression doesn't affect them directly so it's not the biggest threat to democracy.
You guys don't get it. Allowing ISP thugs to control what content we go to or what content we create goes against everything democracy and the internet stands for.
You guys still don't think of this as a big deal. It's as big a deal as voter suppression or gerrymandering because they are exactly the same issue except the other is digital.

Because we have a perspective that you not only lack but refuse to acknowledge even exists.

What perspective?
This isn’t just about how much you will pay for Netflix or Amazon Prime or access to the hottest movies and new entertainment programming, This is about young people having a harder time doing research or taking online classes, it’s about smaller businesses having a harder time competing against big corporations which may be able to pay more for faster access and services. This is about having a harder time getting access to news or political campaigns that Isps disagree with.
Yet none of you seem to give shit. Allowing ISPs to control what we say and do on the internet goes against every thing the internet stands for. It literally means the death of the internet. There is no Opinon. Only fact.

Camicon wrote:For fucksake Flutter, net neutrality wasn't even on your radar prior to April 2017. How do I know this? I searched your posting history.
ISP's being classified under Title I, instead of Title II, was such a non-issue for you prior to 2014 that you didn't even know the US didn't have net neutrality. It was such a non-issue for you as recently as nine months ago that you didn't even know what net neutrality was.
And the world didn't end. Clearly.
The US still had elections. The economy didn't grind to a halt. People graduated from university.
And. The. World. Didn't. Fucking. End.
