AR pistols can't be shouldered because that makes them a rifle which makes them a short barrel rifle (SBR) which makes it illegal unless you pay a tax, register, inform your CLEO etc etc. The NFA is really absurd when you actually get down to it and doesn't stop people from doing anything.

My personal favorite is how the ATF determined that putting a vertical foregrip on a handgun is punishable by 10 years in Club Fed but an angled foregrip is good to go.

The United States does not owe the rest of the world anything in regard to our firearm laws or cultural attitude toward firearms. It baffles me as to why anybody thinks we do.
