Why is American Exceptionalism a shame? The US is the most exceptional nation in the history of humanity, it's flawed and needs some work, but it's leagues ahead of anyone else's formula. Our system should be the building blocks of a socialist world state, imho.

a nation built almost completely over the concept of private property, individualism, classical liberalism, and even worse refusal to bend over backwards "for the greater good of all" doesn't seem like good blocks for a socialist world state, to be honest.

Some of the traits of American culture were admired by Sorel, especially the old idea of the "rugged individual" a strong warrior-worker ethos. I believe American culture can be converted to a socialist framework rather easily.

American workers can be pretty left-wing, I can admit (at least, when they want to.) but I kinda doubt it. Private Property as a concept is at every level of the American Culture (since, you know, the national personification is basically someone who moves further west in order to find more property to claim in her name liberate) and that's the very thing Socialism is there to destroy.

The same was said about Rome, and Rome was undoubtedly more relevant at its time than the US has ever been. If by Civilization you mean "The Occident", yeah. no. it'll just move somewhere else, like it has since Rome invaded Greece. if you mean the whole world, buddy you're overestimating the importance of the US in the greater picture.

I'm not advocating at all for conscripts for foreign wars, more to have a hard core of reservists.

If not foreign wars, then why? I mean that's a metric fuckload of conscripts with basically no purpose.

Having a large core of reservists, social solidarity, job training and education, and hopefully it would make massive wars LESS likely if people knew that everyone could get called up.
But then I also support declarations of war being put to national referendum.

it's generally only the authleft that wants that, to be honest. I haven't seen any left wing libertarian or anarchist to claim "yeah, let's destroy civilization and burn everything to the ground.", despite their notorious love for arson.
