Hornissennest-hime, like most Abyssals, has long, white hair, which she wears in a hime style. Rather than the pale white skin of other abyssal, however, Hornissennest-hime and her battlegroup have inhumanly green skin, despite having otherwise human-like features. Hornissennest-hime wears a blackened and torn Wasserarmee uniform, a garment meant to visually resemble diving suits of the era, without the weights and helmet, and with rubber boots instead of metal, the soles designed to be as slip-resistant as the mid-1940's can muster. Detailing near the aluminum collars indicates that the uniform may have originally been orange.
In ship form, she looks much as she did as a ship, with the exception of the windows of her conning tower, and her anchor ports, which have become glowing demonic eyes, and the catapult exit to the hangar, which now features giant teeth which open to launch fighters. Additionally, the original paint has been corrupted to a dark black, and the entire ship radiates a demonic aura.
Gender: Female
Character:
Hornissennest-hime can best be described as... Driven. The targets she's assigned to sink/destroy, she eliminates. That which is to be captured will be pursued to the ends of the earth. The patrols she's put on, she makes sure nothing escapes her sight. The Abyssals she escorts are guarded with her very life. Her own escort is given the best support she can muster.
And, if she wants something, she *will* have it. And NO ONE ELSE.*stabbing sound*Who doesn't outrank her, that is.
That's not to say obsession is all she has. Toward those she cares about, she is very sweet and caring, often acting almost motherly to those she sees as family, and is fairly intelligent. Just... Don't cross her. It's not worth it. There's a reason her name means 'Hornet's Nest'.
Hornissennest-hime's resentment toward humanity is tied to her decommissioning. Namely, her creators using her to test ever-bigger bombs. Every time, they would send her to a beautiful island. Load her for battle with the same old aircraft. Then they would sink her. They'd raised her. Repair her. Load her up once more. And send her to the same island to die again. Over. And over. Until they built one big enough that they *couldn't* fix her. Small wonder, then, that she rose as an Abyssal Carrier-Hime. To her, the humans couldn't possibly be any different.

In 1946, a new type of fighter was developed and put into production: A near-miraculous wonder of the waning propeller era that could take off and land near-vertically, at speeds so low as to be unheard-of in any fighter aircraft before it, and yet, at top speed, could keep pace with even jet fighters. Due to its odd shape, the fighter was called the 'Flying Waffle', and it was rushed into production in 1947 as soon as the kinks had been worked out of its design, with no nevermind paid to those civillians who had seen it in flight and immediately begun ranting about UFOs and flying saucers (and with no mention of teacups! Hmmph!), despite concerns that the fact that the airframe survived initial testing meant the engines may have been underpowered for Jebslund's military leaders' tastes, due to the amazing flight characteristics.
The fighter was put into service with the navy, where its amazing takeoff run could be put to use aboard even the smallest of carriers without the need of a catapult, with the latest of the Bienenstock-class carriers, the Hornissennest, chosen to be the first to receive the new designated heavy fighter. For over a decade, the Hornissennest and her crew faithfully served the Wasserarmee, proudly defending Jebslund and striking fear in the hearts of her enemies.
Until, that is, she was declared obsolete. She had known the day would come. The last five years of active service, she saw fewer and fewer veterans, and more trainees. She'd become a school ship, her once-feared fighters now relegated to training platforms. It was a decent fate, one her spirit was proud to have.
Until they moved her. They'd loaded her up with her old complement, armed her, fueled her, and, to all appearances, were sending her to battle once more. Except they weren't. They sent her to a beautiful island. Then abandoned her. Not a soul on board save the spirit of a once-mighty carrier, left to watch helplessly as radar contacts showed the incoming bomber. The first of many that would soon drive her to despise her creators as the bombs fell, the ocean swallowed her, and... And they dragged her back up. Repaired her. And sent her off to die again. A test target to evaluate new bombs.
At first, she took her new role in stride, seeing it as doing her part to keep the Kermanic war machine strong. As the tests went on, though, the agony of her repeated deaths and resurrections wore all good will Hornissennest spirit bore down until nothing remained but unbridled hatred for the monsters who refuse to just. Let. Her. Die... The ones who had used her and thrown her away and refused to allow even that mercy. The ones who had truly abandoned her. Thrown her to the wolves in an endless nightmare. Until the day they found their perfect bomb. Their silver bullet of annihilation that reduced an entire simulated battlegroup to barely-usable scrap.
And the day she found herself in a new place, risen as a new ship, a new being. And now with the opportunity to strike back at creatures so like those who had thrown her away.

Character:
Perky and almost eternally cheerful, this sadistic cutie loves nothing more than watching enemy aircraft raining from the sky in pieces. Adelheid is determined to ensure nothing with wings even comes close to hurting Hornissennest-hime. And to watch the shower of aircraft parts fall from the sky. She is not all chainsaws and FLAK pops, though. Adelheid has a noble nature hidden under all the hate and spite, and is more than willing to sacrifice herself to save her allies.

The Jubelnleiterin class was a class of anti-aircraft cruisers considered vital to the Jebslunder war effort during the war. Even from the beginning of the war, Jebslunder admirals felt that anti-air firepower was necessary, and so it was that the Jubelnleiterin class was one of the most numerous in the Jebslund Wasserarmee, with several updates between 1940 and 1950. Adelheid sank shielding Hornissennest in a Blue-on-Blue firefight between Hornissennest and a battlecruiser when a miscommunication cased the latter to mistake her battlegroup for enemy ships. Adelheid has never forgiven her creators for what she views as her murder.Name: Erika

The entire ship's paint job has turned an unearthly black, and the ship radiates a demonic aura.
Gender: Female
Character:
Erika, like her sister, is near-eternally peppy and cheery, with a sense of humor as black as her paint and, like her sister, a thirst for whatever passes for an aircraft's blood. She sees it as her mission to rid the skies of all human-piloted aircraft, and has been known to 'drift' out of AA cover in order to lure aircraft to her. One of her favorite tactics is to time her shots to hit just before the enemy would be able to drop their ordnance, though such "tactics" often earn her an earful.

The Jubelnleiterin (cheerleader) class were all given feminine names, and were called the Jubelnleiterin class because of the Pompon (Pom-pom) and Taktstock (Baton) AA guns standard to the class. Erika was laid down at the same time as her sister, and, like her sister, escorted battleships and battlecruisers until she was assigned to the Hornissennest. Erika was part of the battlegroup mockup bomb test that finally sank the Hornissennest "for good", and resents being 'thrown away' in such a manner.Personell file - Operational Sector Wide Sea - South West
Name: Mary Read Kerman
Type: Destroyer
Class: Pirat-class (comparable to the Battle-class destroyer)
Role: Anti-ship/Anti-sub escort.
Nation of origin: Jebslund
Year commissioned: 1943
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
Mary Read Kerman has short, white hair in a pixie cut and wears a blackened and torn Wasserarmee uniform, a garment meant to visually resemble diving suits of the era, without the weights and helmet, and with rubber boots instead of metal, the soles designed to be as slip-resistant as the mid-1940's can muster. She is fairly short and has a petite frame, and wears several gold earrings in her left ear.

The entire ship's paint job has turned an unearthly black, and the ship radiates a demonic aura.
Gender: Female
Character:
Strong-willed and somewhat tomboyish, Mary Read Kerman lives for battle, and often finds herself bored when there's nothing to shoot. She has a nose for adventure (some would say 'mischief'), though she will follow regulations to a 'T'. In 'life', looseness with regulations was what cost her her life,
Special abilities:
She is a master of disguise.

1x Verkaufsautomat anti-sub mortar (comparable to a Squid)
Armour: None.
Notes:
The Pirat (Pirate) class destroyer was developed by the Jebslund Wasserarmee specifically to hunt down submarines once the people in command realized that leaving big ships with no effective way of repelling subs was probably a *bad* idea, and frigates weren't always up to the task of chasing down enemy subs. Commissioning of the Pirat class and inclusion of at least one in every capital ship group reduced Jebslund's naval losses during the 2nd World War by a wide margin. Mary Read Kerman sank when laziness in cleaning the magazine and a careless ignoring of the onboard smoking ban resulted in a magazine explosion that cascaded through other explosive bits of the ship, crippling her to the point of scuttling.Personell file - Operational Sector Wide Sea - South West

She is short and, though still petite as far as shipgirls go, is stockier than Mary Read Kerman.
In ship form, she looks much as she did as a ship, with the exception of the windows of her conning tower, and her anchor ports, which have become glowing demonic eyes, and a giant, and her bow has become a demonic mouth. The entire ship's paint job has turned an unearthly black, and the ship radiates a demonic aura.
Gender: Female
Character:
Very nearly obsessed with Mary Read Kerman, Kerriott leaves her side only reluctantly when the shooting starts, quickly returning to her side as soon as its over. She will not willingly allow Mary Read Kerman to leave her sight.
Special abilities:
She can cook almost heartbreakingly well, or lethally bad, depending on how she feels about the one she's cooking for. Kerriott also has training as a medic and a masseuse.

She wears a blackened and torn Wasserarmee uniform, a garment meant to visually resemble diving suits of the era, without the weights and helmet, and with rubber boots instead of metal, the soles designed to be as slip-resistant as the mid-1940's can muster. The garment is somewhat less torn than Hornissennest-Hime's, and lacks the orange markings.

The entire ship's paint job has turned an unearthly black, and the ship radiates a demonic aura.
Gender: Female
Character:
Aggressive to a fault, Turmfalke is a fighter, not a lover, and it shows. It takes very little to anger Turmfalke, and, once angered, she will gladly pound the target of her rage into scrap, a trait which is liable to land her in hot water with her superiors. Even as a normal ship, Turmfalke's crew would often pretend not to have heard orders to disengage a target, a habit which proved fatal to the ship in a late postwar skirmish, allowing the heavy cruiser to be sunk in an ambush after being baited by a damaged enemy frigate into a group of destroyers and submarines. Turmfalke bears a strong grudge against her creators, and humanity by virtue of their resemblance to them, over her rather ignominious death, and is no less vicious with her new enemies than her old.
Special abilities:
Turmfalke had got excellent eyesight.

Flies to the edge of comms range, then signals all allied ships within its range, flying as much of a circle as it can while avoiding enemy ships as it does. Similar flight characteristics to the Me-163 Komet, but with a top speed of only 1000km/h. Unarmed, and, like the Japanese A6M Type Zero, has no armor or self-sealing fuel tanks. A demonic eye has replaced the cockpit, and the nose has become a demonic mouth much like the shark mouth noseart on the planes of the Flying Tigers. The entire aircraft radiates a demonic aura. *Can* be used for recon, but won't usually be unless the Fernglas recon planes are unavailable.)
2x PR-01SWPC Ausf. Typically launched by lowering the plane into the water first. The entire craft is pitch black, radiates a demonic aura, and has a small imp at the controls.)
Armour:
Belt: 70 to 80mm
Armor deck: 20 to 50mm
Turret faces: 105mm
Notes: None
The Turmfalke-class was originally built toward the beginning of the Second World War as an escort vessel for carriers and battleships after it was discovered that big guns and thick armor did *not*, in fact, an invincible battleship make, and that maaaaaaaybe it would be a good idea to have more, smaller guns in addition to the big, powerful ones. Later in the war, when aircraft carriers really started to take off, it became standard practice to put at least one Tumfalke-class in each group for protection. The class namer, the []Turmfalke[/I], received new, higher-velocity main guns when she was refitted and assigned to the Hornissennest, but was spared her fate due to the crew pushing their luck one too many times.

Type: light cruiser
Class: Jubelnleiterin (Comparableto the Oaktown class (specifically, USS Oakland) IRL)
Role: Anti-aircraft escort
Nation of origin: Jebslund
Year commissioned: 1943
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
Adelheid has shoulder-length white hair done up in a right side ponytail and wears a blackened and torn Wasserarmee uniform, a garment meant to visually resemble diving suits of the era, without the weights and helmet, and with rubber boots instead of metal, the soles designed to be as slip-resistant as the mid-1940's can muster. She has a somewhat muscular build, with a medium bust and usually has a pair of pom-poms clipped to the belt of her uniform.

Notes:

The garment is somewhat less torn than Hornissennest-Hime's, and lacks the orange markings. Erika has a somewhat muscular build, with a medium bust and usually has a pair of pom-poms clipped to the belt of her uniform.

2 × quad tubes for 533mm Imbisswurst torpedoes

Kerriott has short, white hair, kept in an angled cut, green skin, and wears a blackened and torn Wasserarmee uniform, a garment meant to visually resemble diving suits of the era, without the weights and helmet, and with rubber boots instead of metal, the soles designed to be as slip-resistant as the mid-1940's can muster.

Second, that still doesn't answer the question of why Novaya and how do they *first* meet? There's no reason for Hornissennest to know who he is right from the word go, and less for her to be smitten with him without getting to know him (or at least know *of* him and form an opinion on that).

(Character): At a height of 183cm (6ft) and retaining slightly pale complexion, medium blonde hair, and yellow eyes, Hazel retains everything that every young man would imagine in a beautiful woman like Hazel. Being that Hazel's primary form of propulsion is by sails, along with her secondary form of propulsion being electric motors (lead-acid batteries are included), Hazel has an efficient metabolism - barely consuming as much resources as a destroyer shipgirl/shipboy. Subsequently, Hazel's beauty is undeniably enchanting; however, despite her natural beauty and unique metabolism, Hazel doesn't exactly enjoy flaunting her beauty unless encouraged so passively by her superiors. Personality-wise, Hazel is a very poetic and vibrant individual whom is not afraid to unleash her beautiful voice - unlike some other shipboys/shipgirls like Blake (whom only speaks when necessary either directly as possible or poetically). Her rich and advanced Kraician vocabulary was developed not from education, but rather from her love and skill in poetry, which has become both her favorite hobby and half of her source of education. Being built in the civilian shipyards of the Central Kraician archipelago(aka, Griffinstead Island Shipyards), Hazel's education and vocabulary outside of poetry is that of an ordinary rural Kraician farmer girl.
(Special Abilities): Despite retaining two 'masts' for her sails and retaining no deck guns, Hazel is a very quiet ship. In fact, Hazel is so quiet, that enemy U-Boats/Submarines at night cannot detect her presence. This is not only because of Hazel's 'clean' propulsion (sails and electric power), but also her hybrid 'modified full' hull design, which allows Hazel to sail gently and slow enough where she generates no bow wave without the need for a bulbous bow. Plus, given with Hazel's beautiful and charming appearance, enemy ships (especially shipboys) will initially mistaken Hazel for an innocent civilian yacht that simply gotten lost out at sea; however, on the other hand, some or most shipgirls will not be entirely convinced with Hazel's beauty. Therefore, Hazel's good looks is only a matter of luck - she will always charm shipboys but it will only charm some shipgirls if Hazel is very lucky.
(Technical Description of the vessel):Designed and built as an experimental type of submarine for the Kraician Navy, Hazel was a project conceived under the possible threat of diminishing fuel supplies in Kraicia (though this threat was eventually eliminated when Kraicia resumed the construction to its coastal oil rigs after WWII). Introduced into service under civilian designation, Hazel's civilian appearance and markings were meant to disguise her from German spies and U-Boats; basically fooling the enemy into thinking that Hazel is a yacht rather than a submarine. Beyond the disguise, Hazel was an unusual submarine in which she was built with an unusual 'flush-deck' design. Furthermore, Hazel had no conning tower, since she was outfitted with a polished wooden deck and a smooth steel hull given extraordinary polishing as opposed to the ordinary grey steel appearance like any other submarine. Lastly, her most distinctive design detail is her two masts as well as their lateen sail.
At first, sails on a submarine may seem reasonably impracticable, but Hazel's designers had inserted some unique tricks to accelerate the transition from sailboat to submarine. First, both masts are telescopic and can be retracted into the deck via manual hydraulic pumps inside the submarine. Second, Hazel's hull design is a cross between an ordinary German U-boat and a yacht; her hull retains a 'modified full' hull design while elegantly retaining the necessary aerodynamics of an ordinary submarine. While the 'modified full' hull does hamper Hazel's speed when sailing on the surface, Hazel can sail smoothly and elegantly with ease, thereby appearing 'normal' and 'casual' to the enemy from afar. Otherwise, Hazel was designed from the ground up as an experimental submarine Q-ship.
Her objectives, given her experimental design and shape, was nighttime combat - originally a Nighttime Coastal Submarine. Because of her sails and electric power, Hazel can last for months out to sea without needing to refuel (except for rations and provisions for the crews). In the daytime, she spent her time underwater or at port among civilian yachts and trawlers; however, at night, Hazel would silently sail the seas with her sails and quietly startle any U-Boat attempting to stalk the Kraician archipelago. To the surprise of Hazel's crew and her designers, Hazel was a phenomenally feared submarine hunter - given that her sails and electric propulsion generate no noise. Subsequently, Hazel and her sister ships became the stuff of nightmares to any German or Italian submarine that dared to sail into the Kraician archipelago at night.Technical Data

Notes: Rural Kraicians typically tend to use more agglutination in their vocabulary and grammar, whereas urban Kraicians use more inflection and treat the grammar more analytically very much like US/UK English. Take the equivalent word for "astronaut/cosmonaut" as an example of this detail; Heavenfarer (Rural Dialects) / Heaven Ferrier (Urban Dialects). Subsequently, for the sake of simplicity, Kraician shipboys/shipgirls will tend to call Hazel by her civilian designation rather than her military designation.

Would you mind, if we were to attach her to the convoy's rear guard with the two submarine carriers and SDFS Lodan Lir?

Name: Hornissennest-hime
Type: Carrier
Class: Bienenstock (roughly equivalent to the Yorktown-Class IRL (Enterprise, specifically), if the Yorktowns had carried jets)
Role: Strike carrier
Nation of origin: Jebslund
Year commissioned: 1947
Image or description of the ship girl/boy:
Special abilities:
Hornissennest-hime pain tolerance is nearly legendary, and her ability to precisely diagnose her injuries/battle damage by feel borders on preternatural.

Second, that still doesn't answer the question of why Novaya and how do they *first* meet? There's no reason for Hornissennest to know who he is right from the word go, and less for her to be smitten with him without getting to know him (or at least know *of* him and form an opinion on that).

I might make my reintroductory post where Hazel is venturing in her own. In this scenario, she had gotten separated from the rearguard and is now attempting to sail to the naval base alone. But given with the time of day, she is either anchored underwater near an island or she is traveling underwater via battery power.
There is no use in Hazel sailing in the day; the abyssal shipgirls will not be entirely convinced by Hazel’s beauty and charm unlike shipboys who’ll fall for the same thing with ease. Plus, as standard of Hazel’s design, she sails on the surface at night, and rather quietly for a ship with ‘clean’ propulsion systems. So, either way, I’ll be deciding Hazel’s fate in my upcoming reintroductory post.
P.S. I have not entirely forgotten my four other Kraician kanmusus (shipbys/shipgirls) - I’ll get to them when the timing is right. Plus, keep in mind with Hazel’s sails and electric power that she’ll be arriving to the naval base by the next morning (that is if it’s okay for me to have her venture on her own). Sails and battery power come at a cost compared to steam or diesel (or nuclear reactors).

Sounds like a plan, if you insist on that. Be aware, though, that if any Abyssals spot her, that she's in a bit of a pickle... I'm still debating whether or not there might be a few Yuri-Abyssals amongst the ones led by me or not, but the chances are rather low.
Be aware, though, that if she is separated from the rear guard, at least one vessel of that will be very worried about her.
