I haven’t seen you do any pointless fearmongering on any threads, so probably not.

It's not fearmongering when isps have extorted websites and consumers before. There is a reason why the net neutrality rules were put In place. Getting rid of them gives ISPs the Green light to screw us over with blocking, throttling, and paid prioritization. They have done it before and will do it again in the future if left unchallenged.

Yes, they did it before. And the internet survived. As did democracy. And people still got post-secondary educations. And the world didn't fucking end.

Nothing that Ajit Pai is doing is irreversible, or the death knell for... well, anything. So stop frothing at the mouth and acting like it is.

The internet wasn't a house hold necessity back in the 2000s. Now a days almost all communication and business is done on the internet. Almost all news and research is done on the internet too. It's the reason why newspapers are dying and Amazon is among the great powers of the economy. This will hurt people and what Ajit Pai did was evil.

It doesn't matter if it is reversible. The damage would be done by the time the next administration puts them back in place. The rules should not have been removed to begin with. That is what matters.

So it will cut down on consumerism? Probably porn, anime and My Little Pony consumption as well?

ISP's weren't classified under Title II until February of 2015. The United States did not have enforceable net neutrality until FEBRUARY OF 2015.

And the internet survived. As did democracy. Etcetera.

The fact that we need net neutrality rules and ISPs are fucking monopolies us a reason to get hysterical.

Examples of the shit they pulled. The fact that they are now allowed to do this is unacceptable and intolerable. To not be hysterical feels like to be complacent.

For fucksake Flutter, net neutrality wasn't even on your radar prior to April 2017. How do I know this? I searched your posting history.

ISP's being classified under Title I, instead of Title II, was such a non-issue for you prior to 2014 that you didn't even know the US didn't have net neutrality. It was such a non-issue for you as recently as nine months ago that you didn't even know what net neutrality was.

And the world didn't end. Clearly.

The US still had elections. The economy didn't grind to a halt. People graduated from university.

And. The. World. Didn't. Fucking. End.

Not losing your goddamn mind every time you see Ajit Pai's face is not complacency, it's managing your emotions and priorities with the barest level of maturity expected from a fucking adult person. Give it a try. You might like it.

And as we already explained repeatedly this is exactly what you voted for when you checked the box for the angry little man who was open about wanting to end NN. Supposedly the most important issue yet apparently not important enough to counter your need to punish the party for democratically selecting a candidate that wasn't your personally preferred option.

There are countries where you don't have to pay for the internet?

I mean sure, i could move all the way to Niue, but the free wifi across the entire island isn't worth the trade-offs.

Not really, this simply reverses a late Obama era change that altered how ISPs where regulated. If I recall correctly that change had either just barely or not even gone into effect.

Ffs The rules that got reversed prevented isps from blocking, throttling and discriminating against websites with fast lanes and slow lanes. So basically, for the fucking umpteenth time, ISPs now have the fucking Green light to so exactly that, control what we say and do on the internet.

Why don't anyone get This? Are you guys blind to history or something?

"As a result of today’s misguided action, our broadband providers will get extraordinary new powers. They will have the power to block websites, the power to throttle services, and the power to censor online content," Democratic FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel said at Thursday's meeting. "They will have the right to discriminate and favor the internet traffic of those companies with whom they have pay-for-play arrangements and the right to consign all others to a slow and bumpy road."

"The loss of net neutrality means the loss of your fundamental rights," said Matt Wood, policy director of advocacy group Free Press. "ISPs shouldn’t discriminate against internet content and your choices online. Now they can."

Look we get it, understand it. Over all; in the grand scheme of things, this issue is the lowest issue of many other pressing issues to start yelling, "THIS IS SPARTA" over.

But none of you carw. None of you see how horrible this is for the internet. None of you see that the fearmongering is real, because if ISPs are not going to violate net neutrality, then why did they spend millions to get rid of them? That is no different than a rapist lobbying to get rid of anti-rape laws saying he won't rape, for an extreme comparison. They can't be trusted.

No because this issue hinders on our free speech and our freedom of expression. Without net neutrality, the Isps will get to censor news stories and we won't be,able to know what out fuck face for a president or our Congress crtters are doing. All issues go back to net neutrality.
