Roster is officially updated, and work is going smoothly on the IC. I'd like to wait for an additional day or so to officially post the IC in order to give those still either working on their apps or are still considering applying time to do so.

I'm on my way! Khajiit 'archaeologist' coming up.
The name's James. James Usari. Well, my name is not actually James Usari, so don't bother actually looking it up, but it'll do for now.

Also, how would Daedric quests and their subsequent artifacts work in this rp? I don't think anyone wants to have to end up hearing "A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON" on their dungeoneering escapades.

They are completely optional, and they can be slightly altered to suit your tastes. If you're wanting to make a custom quest, that can be apped for, however you won't be able to do a custom quest as well as canon quest for the same Daedric Prince. Also, I'll only allow a small amount of these quests to be done, and they can only be done after the character(s) have already done several quests prior. This is due to the fact I don't want anyone getting anything too overpowered in the beginning of the RP.

Also, for those interested...

IC IS UP!!!

Apologies for not getting it up sooner. Real life commitments kept me way too busy.

I prefer nice, rounded numbers- my post is 3000 words of substance exact. That is, words that aren't just markers of time or place, but actually are part of the writing. The OP, by contrast, is 3092, and it feels like a challenge to add an extra 100 words of emotional distress to Aeralys just to top it.

Ma'harr
Image

Race: Khajiit
Gender/Sex: Male/Male
Age: 28
Organization(s) involved with: None
Class: Thief
Equipment: Light leather armour, scimitar, dagger, rucksack with supplies, rope, maps, some gold, a notebook
Skills: Ma’harr is knowledgeable in the ways of ‘archaeology’, what locals usually call ‘grave robbing’. He has a good knowledge of the lore of the places he visits, especially concerning old magic artefacts. On top of that, Ma’harr is a salesperson, knowing where to get the best price for his goods. He can spin mighty tales only partially grounded in reality. Most of all, he knows how not to be spotted. In the past, he has had to avoid ancient cults on numerous occasions, and being threatened with sacrifice to a Daedric prince makes one sneaky and stealthy.
Weaknesses: Ma’harr isn’t much of a fighter in fair combat. The scimitar is mostly to scare people off, and if someone really needs to die he can get the kill in with stealth and a quick dagger. In fair combat, he will mostly be far outside his league save for the most impotent of peasants. Ma’harr also has a spending problem, usually giving away most of his gold on food, company and drink, which is why he still hasn’t settled after numerous misadventures with pricey artefacts.
Bio: Being a Khajiit in Elsweyr is hard work. Being a Khajiit elsewhere is even harder still. Ma’harr was born in a litter of nine in Sentinel, Hammerfell. It was very hard for the family to come by. His father was an innkeeper, which should have been a profitable business, but constant run-ins with racist and corrupt city officials rendered most of the profits moot. The inn was also regularly trashed, meaning there was little food on the table every day. Necessity drove the family to desperation. At first, it was simple trickery. Doing some acrobatics in the centre of the inn while the others nicked purses and such. Later, the intrigue became more adept, more complex. Ma’harr, who liked drawing and telling stories, made fake maps to sell to unsuspecting adventurers. These were unconvincing at the start, only tricking the most green and misguided of adventurers, but later they would grow to be hardly discernable from the real deal. Ma’harr would steal books from the local libraries in order to gain knowledge of lost treasures, tempting even the most hardened of scholars. How could this Khajiit child know of such secrets, after all?

In the end, it could not continue like that. Ma’harr flew to close to the sun, tricked a few people that were just too well-connected to trick. As he became older, the mouths became harder to feed. There was no room for more labouring hands in the inn, and the illegal activities were garnering attention. So, Ma’Harr and a few of his siblings decided to head off. It would save their family some expense, and they could send money back once they had settled. At first they travelled together for a few years, but one by one, the siblings left. One of them fell to Skooma in Cyrodiil, one started an inn in Whiterun. A brother and a sister stayed behind in Elsweyr, which they branded as their home country. In the end, only Ma’harr stayed behind, travelling the lands on his own. That was, until he met the high elf Erisussa Korus.

Korus was a mage traveling Cyrodiil for the Altmeri Dominion in search of knowledge. Her story was long and fascinating, but it sufficed to say she had a particular interest in ancient knowledge. Ma’harr and she met in an inn in Morrowind, where she was looking for companions to help her excavate an old tomb. Naturally, Ma’harr was intrigued. Partially because of the gold she offered, which was quite an amount, but mostly because of the excavation. The tomb Korus wanted to visit was rumoured to contain the Vase of Oblivion, a powerful mystical artefact that could help in the creation of soul gems. Ma’harr agreed, and the two were inseparable afterwards. They learned a lot from one another, and made quite a bit of money in the process. They became good friends, sharing in celebration every time they had found a new clue.

Nothing was to last, however. Eventually, their curiosity took them too far. A mythical spear was said to be contained in the Black Marsh, and Ma’harr and Korus set off to find it. They began with a caravan of 30, but that soon dwindled to 8 due to various reasons. That group then diminished to 4, and then down to just Ma’harr and Korus. Eventually, with no end to their quest in sight, they decided to head back the way they came. A single sting from a poisonous insect was enough to do Korus in, however. She died three days later, in agonising pain and held firmly by Ma’harr. He had to leave her, there was no time to burry. Since then, Ma’harr has been traveling alone.

A few months later, Ma’harr found himself in Skyrim, searching for the legendary Labyrinthium. Great artefacts were said to be contained within, like the Staff of Magnus and other Dwemer creations. Ma’harr never even got inside the old Labyrinth, though. It was already overrun with Thalmor agents. He was quickly apprehended, recognised, and charged with the murder of his old companion, who he know found out had been a secret Thalmor agent. He was immediately carted off to the Thalmor embassy for questioning, giving him a nice view of the countryside.

Personality: What’re you like?
Likes: Gold, good food, good friends, good company, history and lore, the chase, his family back home
Dislikes: Imperial entanglements, racism towards Khajiit, superstitious locals, locals in general, people who take the moral high ground, people who underestimate his intelligence
Theme song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pCv7k_Hzvg
The name's James. James Usari. Well, my name is not actually James Usari, so don't bother actually looking it up, but it'll do for now.

(An old app for an older Elder Scroll RP, but recycling is good for the environment, no?)

Haeigr Flamehair
Image

Race: Nord
Gender/Sex: Female
Age: 28
Appearance: Unusually for a native Nord, Haeigr has dark red hair, leading to her acquiring 'Flamehair' as a nickname. This is off-set by her bright blue eyes and pale skin more typical of her fellow Nords. Above average height, Haeigr has a well built upper torso and muscular arms from years attending the forge
Organization(s) involved with: Stormcloaks
Class: Warrior/blacksmith
Equipment: Usual collection of tools, forge and other associated equipment, Dwarven warhammer. Nordic armour
Skills: Smithing. A keen interest in Dwemer artifacts and their operation. Handy with a hammer too.
Weaknesses: Not 'formally' combat trained in any sense, so her skill with blade and bow is limited. Her temper is as firey as her hair, sometimes getting her into trouble.
Bio: Born and bred in Skyrim, Haeigr is the natural product of what happens when a Nordic blacksmith doesn't get the son he was hoping for but is pleasantly surprised when his only daughter turns out to be the son he never had. What some might call her obsession with Dwemer artifacts stems from the time she was trapped in a Dwemer ruin for two days when she was barely a teenager. Despite the mortal danger, her interest in the things she saw down there has remained with her for life. Twice now she has ventured out to explore the many sites around Skyrim, each time barely escaping with her life, but with a sackful of Dwarven metal to craft with.

Haeigr's opinion on the Stormcloaks and 'Skyrim is for the Nords' is brutally pragmatic; Nords appreciate good weapons and armour, and are willing to pay good money to buy from another Nord. Her political opinions take second nature to her desire to earn a living. Plus, if she was being even more honest; war is good business for a smith.

RP Sample: The smithy was filled with the rhythmic sounds of metal on metal and the dull glow from red hot coals was all but outshined by the sunlight streaming in through the open door. Twisting the thin strip of metal from side to side and examining the colours on the surface cast from the light, Haeigr lifted the proto-sword and slid it back into the heat. As she wiped her sweaty hands on her apron a couple of men, dressed in tattered armour, entered from outside, their eyes casting around the room at the wares on show. One of them spotted Haeigr and nudged the other, a glint appearing in his eye. "Ho there woman," the man started. "Could you fetch the master of the forge, the menfolk have business to discuss."

The other smiled. "And if you could get us some mead, that'd be great."

Haeigr's eyes flashed dangerously, she knew the two, itinerant warriors looking for work; they'd been in town a few days and this wasn't the first time she'd heard their comments, but the first time they'd dared to come into the forge to say them. Outside, she had to guard her tongue, lest her business suffered, but this was her world and there was no one else around to worry about. "You know damn fine well that this is my forge," she said. "If you're here to buy, then speak your piece, otherwise get out before you get hurt."

The two men laughed and the first one stepped forwards. "I can't see for the life of me why this place comes so highly recommended," he said. "How good can it get, with a woman in charge?"

He laughed again and turned to face his friend and as he did so, Haeigr hefted the hammer she'd recently been using and casually dropped it on the man's foot. As he screamed in pain from the heavy weight, the other man scowled and began to step forwards, only for Haegir to use the nearby tongs to pick up a piece of glowing coal and flick it expertly at him. Instinctively, the man caught the lump; just to shout in pain and drop it again as it burnt his fingers.

Haegir lifted another hammer down from the rank beside her and took a few steps forwards. “Get out of my forge, and don’t even think about looking for work in his town. If you come in here again, I’ll make sure it’s more than singed fingers and bruised toes you leave with.”

As the two men departed with curses, Haeigr sighed. No doubt the good guard sergeant will be in soon, advising her not to aggravate potential customers. Seems like there’s never any winners when people are bastards.

One minor issue: "Blacksmith" is not an official class, although one can have skills in them. Here you can look at the various classes that would suit your character. Based on your app, the Pilgrim class would likely suit you, but that's for you to decide.

Also, as a side note for those who haven't gotten a post up: You don't have to join Einar and the others, you can do your own thing elsewhere if you so choose. I'm getting up the quest app for our group up after I get done with my three hour long class.

Pilgrim seemed a bit... well, wishy-washy. Went with warrior, as Haeigr can swing a mean hammer and probably hold her own in combat.

Would it be alright if I expanded a bit on the lore surrounding the Knight of the Nine since the events of Oblivion? Little is said of what happened to them during the 4th Era. I'd like for them to play an important role in my Ayleid character's biography.

I'll let you app for it, and we'll let our lore nerd (Dutchy) have the final call on it.

Also, roster is updated and the "Main" quest shall be put up soon as well.
