Ever-Wandering Souls wrote:The challenge wasn’t to you, Tim, it was to “I could trigger that and jump too easier than wiping my ass” Guy. He’s the one who’s being challenged to trigger a record run and jump in it too, to prove it. As for the number? Check our thread in a bit ;)

Again with the random infantilization. Do you folks have a fetish or something? “No allowance for you,” “Daddy will see you when he gets home” ... the fuck?

If you consider calling on y’all to walk the walk when you talk the talk “getting a piece of the salt pie,” then sure.

No comment on the forum destruction bit, Tim?

Well shit, that detag run's doomed before it started then. Who knows though, maybe you'll have more luck getting Guy to update than I do. Looking forward to seeing the new record, sounds like you guys really went off last night.

It's less random infantilization and more us continuing the obviously-not-serious rhetoric in which we're the annoyed parents and all the raiders are our rowdy children. This has been a well-documented running joke, with memes, reports, and general commentary based around it. I rather doubt you haven't noticed it all. While I can't speak to the individual interests of folks, it's definitely not an organization-wide fetish, nor one of mine.

Sounds to me like it's most definitely getting a piece of the salt pie. After all, both of our groups (TGW and TBH) are ultimately pretty driven organizations who could each arguably be labeled as the most elite troops on their respective sides. It's natural that we would throw barbs at each other, and it's natural that we'd sometimes brigade each other's threads. Nothing wrong about it, it's just business.

Didn't even notice the forum destruction bit. I've informed troops, including the author of the post, that commentary along those lines is not appropriate conduct for Wardens or for anyone. Apologies for the joke that was made there, it wasn't in the best taste and obviously does not reflect any actual positions of The Grey Wardens regarding forum destruction. We will, as we always have, condemn forum destruction where we see it and refuse to harbor or work with those who destroy forums.

Since the issue has been raised, I fully apologize for the joke on forum destruction. As I'm fairly new to Gameplay, I didn't recognize the severity of the topic to the extent that it can't be joked about, and I thank everyone involved for enlightening me on this topic. Everyone can absolutely be assured that this won't happen again.

You're still a baller and we love you

Well, TBH might not show their love, but they can't live without us. Who else would bring them so much fun? ;)

Apparently both you and Atlantica missed this memo, but The Black Hawks have existed since 2005. It's on our WFE, dude. We were here long before your org, and we'll be here long after you. So yes, we are very capable of living without you, and the answer to "who else would bring them so much fun?" would be "literally anyone else".

I meant in a more general sense of "defenders", given that TBH struggled pretty hard during the post-UDL defending era too. Who knows, maybe we're secretly in conspiracy with each other?

The idea that your org is in conspiracy with the top raider region certainly doesn't sound like something you'd want to advertise on your thread, but hey if people believe that it literally only works to my benefit :P

TBH was struggling in those years for a variety of reasons including an aging and inactive Council and the domination of the raiding world by The Black Riders. Of course you are fully aware of all of those reasons, so I'm not sure what you're getting at. Our success in recent years has been due to forces completely unrelated to the rise to prominence of The Order of the Grey Wardens, and I guarantee that if your org stopped existing right now we'd still be breaking records just the same.

You know, with our fanbase and tactics, I bet people would rally to us even more if there was a conspiracy that TBH were just our agents of destroying raiding :P

I completely agree with your reasons, but I think much of the domination of TBR and lack of new top-class leadership for TBH were as a result of an immensely diminished defender faction. I fully believe each side benefits from having an active enemy, as it provides for something to rally troops around, a tangible enemy to show recruits, and so on.

If that's what we are, we're certainly not doing a very good job of it

I don't necessarily agree that those issues stemmed from a lack of properly organized defenders. I think you're right when you say that having an active enemy provides those benefits, but I don't believe that has much to do with why The Black Hawks as an organization were not at the top of their game at that time. The lack of top-class leadership was remedied with the addition of Souls and Kleo to the Council, while the domination of TBR was mostly caused by a culture of treating raiding like an assembly line. A culture that was ended after The Black Hawks re-vitalized post-Predator raiding with Operation Blackout.

We didn't need defenders to do any of the things that brought us back to being the most feared military organization in the world. You might need us, but as much as you'd like to believe that your organization is a necessary force in this game, it's simply not the same in reverse. Again, I'm still not seeing why you are advocating for the idea that your org being active directly contributes to the success of our raiding purely from an ideological standpoint. If you want raiding to suffer, why would you do things that help us?

There are two very important and serious considerations to be had here but before we get to them:

1. Atlantica, you are an excellent writer and even though I have to look up your references to mythology and stuff, glad that you're doing these reports. Also, do you take commissions relating to like mermaids themed stuff. Or like I am highly interested in making a quiz (inspired by Quiz master Nakari) that lets people choose which type of mythological mermaid they are but like mythology is a lot rn.

2. Step-moms. Seriously, they're an underlooked and over stereotyped class of steps. Can we not open our hearts and minds to step-moms as a class of people who are people too.

3. I feel like the Capulets\Montagues symbolism is like not wearing thing but like what are some other duos like that?

What about the Lancastrians/Yorks and the War of the Roses? Or the 100 Years War between England and France which was actually around 112 years long?

Is there a movie version or like a pretty version of it? War of the Roses sounds nice because you could do pictures of various rose species. Like there has to be a star cast kind of thing, where there are two really cool people who are star crossed and stuff. Just for the element of prettiness.

Actually, it would get even more mathing intensity when you realize that it's 5:43pm where I am but it tells me that you posted at 5:47pm meaning you posted from the future and idk that seems legit interesting.

Edit: It's telling me I posted at 6:44pm but that's an hour ahead. Wow, New Years is bringing some sort of time travel situation to NS forums.

Oh Keglen, you bring back memories...

Keglen was one of those noob group of regions that threatened Warzone Airspace around 6 years ago. Being a vindictive super-noob myself, I bluffed and made puppets to spread disorder in their community and I believe the original founder got himself deleted by overreacting. The Keglen you see there is actually a refound...that was sniped by somebody else dissatisfied with original Keglen (I wanted to snipe it myself as a trophy for Airspace but was beaten). You can read some of the drama in 1st page of their RMB: https://www.nationstates.net/page=displ ... en?start=0

They eventually spilt off between the Keglen and New Keglen/Silver Lake factions and like most regions eventually died.

I found an ancient thread here in the GP forum where one of them was advertising their region. Not linking to it cause reading it now, I acting like a badass was so cringe worthy, as was 14(?) year old Tim egging me on in that thread. :P

We Shit More Updaters Than Unibot

Postby Tim-Opolis » Sun Jan 07, 2018 11:42 pm

Image

All We Do Is Win, Win, Win No Matter What

For a long time, the disgraced pariah of the Defender world, Unibot, has claimed that we are nowhere up to his levels of "shitting updaters". The Grey Wardens are just socialite pretenders more focused on their own image and super dank memes than preventing the blight from spreading across the world, if you'd believe him. To that I say that Unibot is living in the past, we are the future, and I pulled 30 updaters for Sunday night with 4 hours notice. Now, as someone who was in the UDL, I can assure you that Unibot never pulled 30 updaters on such short notice. Therefore, we can conclude that TGW > UDL, gg no re. However, enough about the rightfully forgotten past, because this is a great update to talk about.

The Darkness was truly vanquished in The Nations of POWER as The Dark Vanquishers finally walked the walk to match their talk and occupied a region. Honestly, I'm really happy to see them get an occupation off, because it's tough stuff to do and full credit to them. They had a solid 9-10 endorsement pile of smaller militaries, and that's something to respect. However, The Grey Wardens and their 20 closest friends decided that such nonsense wouldn't be tolerated, so we showed up to show the Darkspawn how vanquishing darkness really works.

The battle started early, as darkspawn scouts withdrew from their occupation spread through the lands in an effort to tag the world with their blight. Countering them was a crack team of Wardens, as well as The Noble Thatcherites! Beaten back at all turns, the darkspawn scouts slinked back to their encampment, pursued by Wardens to the end.

As the battle progressed, a cavalry charge of TITO Knights was initially thrown at the enemy to prod at their defenses and spread hysteria among their ranks. With the knights then re-mounting on new horses, after some of their were felled by darkspawn arrows, they joined the main vanguard for the decisive approach of the region. Surrounding the region, seizing key supply posts, watch towers, and weapons caches, Defenders forces vanquished darkness from everywhere they went. As they broke into the main Darkspawn encampment, chaos ensued as Hurlocs and Genlocs attempted to fell the oncoming tide of justice. To no avail, all the Darkspawn were slain but their leader, who will face public execution at tomorrow's minor update.

Assisting The Grey Wardens in this monumental victory were our good friends The Midnight Order, The Rejected Realms Army, The Renegade Islands Alliance Special Forces, The South Pacific Special Forces, The Ten-Thousand Islands Treaty Organization, and the Union of Democratic States Armed Forces.

Glory to The Grey Wardens! Glory to our allies! Glory to Vanquishing the Darkness of The Blight!

In Addition

We'd like to formally congratulate Lieutenant Sir Merlin, known in Gameplay Reports as Kingdom of Circle of Magi, on his well-deserved promotion to Warden Constable! Merlin has been one of the most active Wardens in this past calendar year, breaking attendance records, and demonstrating his abilities at every turn. Congratulations Constable Sir Merlin! Merlin has been one of the most active Wardens in this past calendar year, breaking attendance records, and demonstrating his abilities at every turn. Congratulations Constable Sir Merlin! May you find vigilance in peath, victory in war, and noble sacrifice should death come find you on the battlefield.

Congrats Merlin!!
