You guys just decided to be drama queens over TG votes and then Cormac jumped on the opportunity to put himself and his biased “newspaper” at the center of what’s been an uncontroversial tradition for years, likely ending that tradition forever.
Congrats. Y’all have turned a light-hearted frivolous superlative contest into just another Gameplay-politics drama fest. Maybe that SHOULD be an award in itself.

It's been suggested via telegram that private votes should only be counted if they were sent by World Assembly nations. We feel that this is a good way to both stick with a tradition that has been in place long since before The Gameplay Awards commenced in 2015 and prevent even subtle vote manipulation.
We hold nothing against other Awards being held at the same time. In fact, we encourage all players to participate in both events in the pure interest of having fun.
There have also been lighthearted complaints about this year's "required" explanations for nominees. That has been changed to "strongly encouraged" justifications.
OP will be updated soon. Happy nominating.
