Again, stealing your format (sorry!):

1. The Beatles (1960-1970) "British"
2. The Beach Boys (1961-) "American"
3. Four Tops (1953-) "American"
4. Eurythmics (1980-1990, 1999-2005, 2014) "British"
5. Fleetwood Mac (1967-1995, 1997-) "British-American"
6. Genesis (1967-1998, 2006-2007) "British"
7. Radiohead (1985-) "British"
8. Take That (1990-1996, 2005-) "British"
9. Air (1995-) "French"
10. The Bangles (1981-1989, 1998-) "American"

There's a few more I'd add in a top 15 or 20, and I don't listen to the Beatles as much as most others; but I've ranked them based on stuff like cultural significance (in my mind) as well as personal taste.
I don't have any energy for sig creation rn, I'll do it later. ;_;

None of them are solo artists. Just because a musician is billed as a solo artist doesn't mean they actually are one. Virtually all musicians are backed up by a band, even if their name is the only one people know. Regardless, I've never known discussions of favorite bands to exclude solo artists. "Band" is frequently used as shorthand for musical artist.

I'm just gonna do a Top 5 since I don't listen to that much music. In fact, some of these might not even count as bands.

1. AC/DC
2. Guns N Roses
3. Daft Punk
4. Black Sabbath
5. Jimi Hendrix

My top 10 in no particular order:

Sabaton ( 1999- ) "Swedish
Stereopony ( 2007-2012 ) "Japanese"
Leevi and the Leavings ( 1978-2003 ) "Finnish"
FripSide (2002- ) "Japanese"
Modern Talking ( 1984-1987, 1998-2003 ) "German"
The Clash ( 1976-1985 ) "British"
The Pogues ( 1982-1996, 2001-2014 ) "British-Irish"
Raptori ( 1989-1992, 1999-2001, 2010-2011, 2017- ) "Finnish"
Eppu Normaali ( 1976- ) "Finnish"
Vengaboys ( 1996-2002, 2006- ) "Dutch"

It's worth noting that my definition of top 10 is probably a bit looser than some of you would use, because I mostly listen to tracks instead of bands, and because many of my favourites are solo artists which I've excluded from the list on the account of them not being bands.

Not only that but sometimes (maybe even most of the time, dunno) "solo" artists are backed up by the same band every/most of the time, case in point Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, George Thorogood and the Destroyers etc. Anyways, for my top 10 I'd probably go with:

Impaled Nazarene (1990- ) "Finnish"
Motörhead (1975-2015) "British"
Venom (1979- ) "British"
Klamydia (1988- ) "Finnish"
Iced Earth (1988- ) "American"
Triumph (1975-1993) "Canadian"
Rytmihäiriö (1988- ) "Finnish"
Los Bastardos Finlandeses (2005- ) "Finnish"
Manowar (1980- ) "American"
Lynyrd Skynyrd (1964- ) "American"

And about the last one, yes, you can bitch and moan all you want about how they ended in 1977 and the reunion doesn't count but I quite like most of all of their albums :p
