The Democratic Party and general left is in a decrepit state.
Love or hate what they stand for, Trump and the Republicans are taking decisive action on the issues. Tax reform is likely to be a huge success. The draft proposal cuts rates across the board. We haven't seen any alternatives from the minority. We may have failed on health care, but at least he is trying to fix the chaos known as the "Affordable Care Act." Again, Dems haven't drafted any reform bills of their own. Democrats are focused on Trump's harsh tone and social issues, while Trump (whether you think he's bullshitting or not) talks about bringing jobs back to our shores. The only leader on the left who are focusing on these bread and butter issues is a self-proclaimed socialist who praised hideous dictators such as Castro and Lenin back in the 1980's.
Dems also seem to make everything worse then they actually are. Unemployment is at 4.1%, monthly job growth is strong, poverty is at pre-recession levels, and our economic outlook is strong. America is not, as some would have us believe, on the brink. Quite the opposite if anything. This same principle applies to the travel bans. The immigration executive orders that Trump signed only apply for 90-180 days, and are meant to give us a chance to reevaluate our security measures. Given the high threat of terrorism the west is facing right now this is not an unreasonable move. What is certain is that the narrative of America completely turning its back on people looking to move here is absurd.
I'm not a Trump bot, so I am deeply concerned about what Robert Mueller's investigation may bring forward. However, at this moment, there is no "smoking gun" proving that Trump colluded with Russia. None. Even Papadapolous hasn't shown this. The left keeps insinuating that there's a conspiracy but until Mueller concludes his research and indictments, we won't know for sure. What we do know is that people are getting sick and tired of liberals in Congress calling for impeachment over pure speculation.
Because the economy is doing strongly and the Dems are having trouble finding unity between the Berners and centrists, I don't think that the 2018 elections will be as kind as midterms usually are to the opposition party.

1 - Tax reform is not going to be popular because it grossly imbalances the changes to benefit the rich and corporations while putting burdens on the working class and poor such as getting rid of deductions for moving for work, adopting children, people who get a divorce, eliminates deductions for student loan payments and medical cost deductions for the seriously ill while making it far easier for the rich to file less in taxes by forming "pass-through" corporations.
2 - The ACA is a mess but the Republican plans would have thrown millions off the market as well spike prices. They've asked Republicans for years to help them make the law better to which the Republicans have dug in their heels and said "no."
3 - That self-proclaimed socialist, by the way, is the most popular national politician in the country with favorables that would make any other lawmaker swoon.
4 - Dems inherit all the shit from Republicans time and time again. Unemployment is low and poverty is at pre-recession levels not because of Republicans but because of Dems. It's the same thing as saying that since the Recession flared up in 2008 and Obama got in in 2009 that he was to blame for the recession. Presidents inherit the troubles and boons of the previous presidents.
5 - You're more likely to die from being struck by lightning or being shot by a child in the US than be killed in a terrorist act. When the Las Vegas shooting occurred everyone on the Right shouted not to politicize it and drowned out voices calling for reform but one terrorist act and it's like the whole world if coming down around them. I'm not saying that what happened was not a tragedy but when more people die each day from drunk driving, smoking, opioid withdraws and more, it really shows how the Right skews the narrative.
6 - I agree that until Mueller makes an actual announcement then we have to assume the Trump campaign as a whole is free from the conspiracy charges being thrown at it. However, to say there is no conspiracy is wrong since those two men where just charged with conspiracy.
7 - The economy is not doing strongly, it's back to pre-recession. I would not call the pre-recession economy the best for the middle class and poor since wages have been stagnating for decades and inflation is up.
8 - I do agree that the midterms will not be rosy barring some major mess up from the right, especially since the Dems are hemorrhaging money right now because the Berners and the Centrists are both fed up with it's incompetency.

Trump hasn't passed any economic policies whatsoever. If the economy is doing well and unemployment is down, that's because of Obama-era policies and Congressional inability to reverse them. It was Trump who was preaching doom and gloom about the economy for virtually his entire campaign--at least until he got elected, at which point he started taking credit for all of the economic gains made under Obama. Notice also how his rhetoric on China and NAFTA virtually disappeared once elected, in case you hadn't noticed.
Obamacare is working much better in states that actually cooperated with the feds (i.e. New York, where premiums are going down) instead of fighting them (i.e. Kentucky, McConnell's state, which will see big premium increases thanks to him). It also increases consumer protections against the utterly vampiric health insurance companies, which is essential considering their whole business model relies on denying people healthcare.
As far as his tax breaks for the rich go, Sam Brownback demonstrated in Kansas that trickle down economics lead to fiscal ruin while failing to generate any appreciable economic growth for the people as a whole. All it does is fill the coffers of billionaires' offshore bank accounts in the Cayman Islands. The Republicans' trickle down bullshit is likely going to RAISE taxes and expenses for the middle class by eliminating deductions and funding for Medicare and Medicaid. Trickle down economics has never worked, isn't going to work now, and never will work. It's a lie that's been perpetuated since the 1980s to justify giving kickbacks to campaign donors.
On the travel ban, you're blatantly wrong. Trump's line was "we need the travel ban while we conduct a review of the vetting process for 90 days." That review could have been finished several times over by this point in his Presidency if he didn't hold his breath for the courts to accept his travel ban. Nearly every recent ISIS-inspired terrorist attack has been carried out not by refugees but by naturalized US citizens radicalized at home. Why didn't Trump simply conduct the review? Could it be he really did just want to ban Muslims and the review was a smokescreen?
On Moeller, how do you know the results of the investigation before they're released? You're sure that the investigation is "pure speculation"? How do you know that? Do you know something the Special Counsel doesn't? Why not wait for the results of the investigation if you are actually concerned about it?
