This is my least favorite nation, so there will be no update. But it's probably the best to live in. by Grecaties » Fri Nov 03, 2017 2:50 pm

Grecaties wrote:Currently re-reading Worm by Wildbow. It's long but amazing and Worm 2 is coming soon so I figured I run through it again. I just finished One Thousand and One Nights after re-reading Hamlet and reading Macbeth. And those after reading The Long Earth Series by Terry Pratchett and Steven Baxter. I recommend 1001 if you want an example of older, oral story telling with more than a few (to me) what the heck moments as well as an interesting look into how magic worked to them. Shakespeare is Shakespeare and must always be recommended, but I really enjoy Hamlet, though Macbeth had quite a few excellent moments in it. The Long Earth Series is great sci-fi as it examines the ramifications of a single change with wide reaching consequences and examines those consequences in depth. It's thought provoking, humorous, fun to read, and insightful. Highly recommend. Worm, a web serial from 2011, is just amazing as previously stated. It manages to make, to me, superheroes interesting by making them human. They're driven by realistic goals and motivations and the vast majority of characters manage to be sympathetic and I found myself rooting for both sides of many engagements.
