honestly, true.
instead of debating or discussing ideologies, we're... what? Meme-ing ourselves by "[] is a bourgeoisie concept"
ugh.
it's almost like it's all meaningless

Oh gods, the infection is spreading.
What happened to the Sufi mystic with a hard-on for Islamic Central Asian nomads?
Welcome back, by the way.

Syndicalism is completely un-tenable with modern unions being the way they are. Union bosses being basically bourgeoisie. And I have no idea why you think the "communal spirit" is greater in syndicalism than communism.

The idea that syndicalism means accepting modern unions as they are right now is laughable. Socialist syndicates have never been organized the same as capitalist ones.Olivaero wrote:And I have no idea why you think the "communal spirit" is greater in syndicalism than communism.
You must not have actually read my post, because I never ascribed a superior or inferior "communal spirit" to either ideologies.
Syndicalism is inherently communal, centered around the unity of the labor organization in overturning capitalism and creating a new order built around producerism. Proudhon, Sorel, Berth, and other syndicalist thinkers were opposed to the crass materialism of Marxism and proposed a more spiritual view of socialism. In contrast, Communism in either individualistic (libertarian Marxism) or totalitarian (Maoism, Marxist-Leninism, etc.) and is thoroughly materialist, centered around the conceit that it's "scientific" which alienates the religious and less deterministic.

Syndicalism is the idea that you can build socialism through the union movement, for that the union movement has to actually be good.

The spirit in communism is what you make of it. There is great communal spirit in working as an equal with your fellow man for the good of everyone and yourself. One of the key principles of internationalism is that the working class in each nation have more in common with each other than they have with their bourgeois compatriots. Whilst the ethos behind how communists think society will be governed in socialism is scientific, the movement it's self is bound to be communal in nature. I think your confusing the analysis provided by marx with the way communists actually operate and organise.
