It's incredibly difficult to make and pass amendments.
Article V of the Constitution:
"The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate."
So you don't have to read all of it because I wouldn't want to either:
"The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments ... ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress ..."
If it gets crazy enough that one amendment can be repealed, there's no doubt in my mind that congress would be crazy enough to repeal others. If the Democrats get the majority, and vote to repeal gun rights, whats to stop them from banning conservative ideologies next? they've already proven they have the numbers to repeal an ammendmant
Prohibition was different " and was justly banned" as it was causing massive problems in the country. Guns and free speech don't cause nearly the same amount of problems. No matter what the propaganda outlets say.
I'm just letting you know that it can be changed. And that it is very difficult to do so.
Having a majority in Congress ain't gonna get an amendment. 2/3 is difficult to get; hell, just 50% can be difficult to get.
Then the states need to ratify it.
You don't have that much to worry about. Plus, if we have guns, we can defend our first amendment rights.
