Rochester Airport
September 27th of 2017
"What the hell do you mean you forgot to bring our jackets?" I ask, slightly annoyed. "Well, shit, dad. If i knew it was going to snow this hard, i would have prepared them yesterday." My son, Ryan, hastily replied. I let out a deep sigh and turned my car right, the airport entrance and the line of refugees was in sight, i parked the police cruiser at the sidewalk in front of the main entrance. I looked at the line to enter the airport and was disappointed at the length. "Ah, hell, i'm not letting you or me freeze our asses out there." I said while turning off the engine of the car. I grabbed my shotgun and my bag and exited the car. Immediately, i see a kid getting pushed around by the army. Boy, they're not messing around. Ryan exited the car while carrying his bag and Bat as he walked besides me. "Stay close." i whispered to Ryan as i started walking. "What am i? 5?" i hear Ryan say under his breath.
Both of us walked towards the entrance, as we walked, i noticed a soldier and a refugee conversing in sign language in front of the line, hmph. I forgot that disabilities still exists. One of the soldiers guarding the entrance noticed me carrying a massive shotgun, i guess he felt threatened, as he pointed his rifle on my chest. "Identification and permit to carry... sir." Said the young soldier. Unfazed, i showed him my badge and permit to carry firearms. "Senior Investigator, Rochester Police Department." The soldier eyes widened, he lowered his gun and let us through. I could hear the grunts of the people in the line, they weren't impressed by us cutting through the lines.
