HOOOOLD THE PHONE.
You're telling me that there are 19 inch guns on a ship that weighs 15,000 tons.
Okay.
If you want to tear yourself in half when firing a single gun or capsize from it, go for it.
You realize that Admiral Hipper, a ship of similar size, carries only 8" guns?

THAT, would be the reason why the app is under construction. Still working out the maths. I'm, after all, NOT a naval architect by trade.

Recoil scales up as gun caliber increases- not proportionally, though. If you want perspective, a 16 inch gun will have around half the recoil of a 21 inch gun. The best your ship could mount is 12 inch if you want such a quick vessel of light tonnage.

Class: (as built) King George V-class dreadnought battleship, (as converted) Legate-class fleet carrier
Role: Heavily Armored Fleet Carrier
Nation of origin: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland/Dominion of Bermuda
Year commissioned: 1911 (as HMS Centurion), 1939 (as HMBS Legate)
Image or description of the ship girl/boy: It's shit but 'tis the best I can do.
Gender: Female
Character: Legate is first and foremost refined and "proper", while perhaps not the perfect example of the British upper class at least a good representation of the upper class' sense of style, even holding the rather silly belief that women should wear dresses. However, she maintains an optimistic, friendly attitude, never quite belittling anybody that hasn't done something really bad without a tone somewhere between vague bemusement and feigned disappointment. Vaguely motherly. She hasn't quite adjusted to the whole "not being a dreadnought battleship" thing yet. And don't bring up her time as a target ship. Just don't.
Special abilities: She's a fairly short, very armored carrier. She carries 20 of the greatest aircraft of all time, the FAIREY SWORDFISH! That's... about it. Might add more if I think of it.
Technical Description of the vessel: HMBS Legate started her life as HMS Centurion, a British-made King George V-class dreadnought battleship commissioned in 1911. Centurion served in the Great War to a limited extent, mostly patrolling the North Sea. She did, however, participate in the massive Battle of Jutland, taking formation in the main line of battle. She fired a few volleys before the fellow battleship HMS Orion blocked her line of fire. After Jutland, she returned to patrolling the North Sea. She became the flagship of the Reserve Fleet after the end of the War, before being converted into an unarmed radio-controlled target ship in 1924 to comply with the Washington Naval Treaty.
By 1935, the situation had changed. Nazi Germany, under Adolf Hitler, revealed itself to be re-arming at a worrying rate. Despite the Anglo-German Naval Agreement, the British were still worried about a revived German Kriegsmarine. With the Kriegsmarine in mind, somebody came up with a brilliant plan. The Dominion of Bermuda was the newest Dominion in the Commonwealth, only created earlier that year. As such, the Washington Naval Treaty which still haunted the Royal Navy didn't apply to it. They sold the old Centurion to the Dominion of Bermuda and ordered them to convert it into a manned aircraft carrier. It took 4 years. However, the re-construction of the Centurion did employ many Bermudians, and, when Legate was finally completed, she stood as a symbol of pride for the small new Dominion. HMBS Legate would go on to participate in World War II's Atlantic Theater, primarily in the Mediterranean against the Italian Regina Marina. However, her aircraft provided close air support to Bermudian forces storming Sword Beach during Operation Overlord, and she provided close air support in several battles in harbor towns as the war progressed. For her actions she earned the nickname "Landlubber". After the war she remained the flagship of the Bermudian Navy even into the Revolution of 1950, where she was struck by a torpedo from a British submarine. Her commander ran her aground, saving the lives of her crew. In 1951 she was restored and converted into a museum ship for her historical value. She was undamaged in the 1955 Civil War. Technically, she remains commissioned in the Fascist Bermudan Navy to the modern day, even though she remains aground.Technical Data

Technical Description of the vessel: The RNV Österáls was the first and last ship of its class, made right after the Mechanist Revolution and designed to show the people what their great nation was capable of. During the first world war she saw action almost constantly, being a national symbol her destruction would greatly have weakened the moral of the homeland. She would endure though, surviving its duration and beyond. Although by the time of the Mechanist-Kantolian war she was outdated compared to modern ship standards she was sent into combat any how, the nation unsure of their foe's naval power. Here she nearly met her end, she was crippled during the battle of Elkian Reef (1934) but made her way home.
This brought the ships glaring flaws to the navies attention, the lack of speed and poor pain gun performance was this ships downfall, but they had her repaired and upgraded, making her more modernised. While her main gun remained unchanged her hull and other weapons received a much needed upgrade. She did though meet her end two years later during the second world war, during the battle of Brisk (1943), a larger ship let loose a full salvo at the Österáls, one lucky shot hit a weakened section of armor and detonating it her main ammunition hold.
The RNV Österáls was designed with coastal defence and strength in mind.
