Per this announcement, Equestrian States will be hosting World Baseball Classic 41.

All announcements regarding the tournament now belong to Equestrian States.

My thanks to the Council for their approval of the bid.

At the moment, there are 40 nations signed-up to participate in the tournament, a good number to run a tournament with. However, since the Everything Thread will not be ready for another day or two and the draw not until sometime in the middle of next week, I'll keep sign-ups open for the time being, albeit as a wait list. Tentatively, I'd say expect the tournament to kick-off on October 1.

Your stadium for the main season? Anything you want, that's your Role play.

Stadiums in the postseason? That will be named and a story written when I think the post season starts.

I believe you're first on the wait list. I would assume (as I'm not host, I'm speaking as a former host) that if there is only 1 additional signup - bringing it to a theoretical 42 - you would be in. Equestrian States is the final judge on that.

Apologies for the delay, folks. Bit of a crazy week at work, but we should be good moving forward (there's a reason I didn't plan on starting the tournament this week).

Anyhow, by my count we currently have 45 nations signed up (see below list). That's a number we can run with, but I'd prefer to have the slightly easier number of 48 if possible. As such, I'm setting a hard cap of 48 for the tournament and a deadline of Sunday, October 1 at 11:59 PM EDT for any further sign ups, after which point the draw will be conducted and posted. All 45 current participants are guaranteed a spot in the tournament, but any further nations will be added to a wait list. If we do not make it to 48 by the deadline but have further sign-ups, we'll assess the situation to try and get everyone who wants to participate a spot (whether it's by having another puppet join in or removing one to make room).

At this point, I can also confirm that the first day of scorination will be Wednesday, October 4.
