If I was only speaking based off of a single perfunctory web search, no, I wouldn't feel any need to comment on a topic. I'm amused you assume such is the case, but that's probably just disingenuous argumentation at work.
I'm not assuming anything, just getting some background is all. No need for hostility. The unevenness of your interest certainly is, well, interesting though, especially as a man of science. Surely any politicization of science is equally worthy of your attention, no? Not just a shrug? What is it about homosexuality that makes you more willing to wade in, do the necessary intellectual work and declare it politicized than hysteria?

Those last two points are the rub for me. I'm a man of science, and to change medical diagnosis or indeed any professional categorization or general practices on account of politics is fraught with peril, whether it be in psychology, climatology, or what have you. Cultural sentiment shouldn't ignore the science of climate change, but neither should cultural sentiment take aspects of dysfunctional psychology and decide that maladaption is actually normality simply because the popularity of a concept has changed.
So I assume that as a man of science and of sticking to your proposition, you're equally on the record as being for re-classifying hysteria as a mental disorder and championing lobotomies as a beneficial psychiatric surgery? Both were discontinued in part due to 'changing cultural norms' and political action, after all.

No comment on the troll thing because I'm a participant in the thread and don't want to self-moderate. But don't call people obtuse.

Because it's flaming. It's attacking the poster rather than their argument.
Now would it be possible to start moseying back toward the topic of the thread? We've gotten rather lost in the weeds.
Oversensitive Trumpists are suing CNN and SPLC because they don't understand how defamation laws work.
