Platform Proposal of United Massachusetts
Introduction
Maabara is facing many problems today--high social inequality, a lack of good-paying jobs, a second-class healthcare system, and so much more. The voice of the Maabaran people, now clamoring for reform, is clear: we need to make a change to help our state, and Ferñao at large. However, the obstructionist tactics of groups like the Civic Union are blocking this path to real, lasting reform for all of Ferñao. Maabara has no time to wait any more--our status within Ferñao is blocking the rights of Maabarans to determine their own future and move Maabara forwar. The Maabaran National Party is the only party advocating for these rights. Don't fall for the trap of the Red-Green Alliance, the obstruction of the Civic Union, or for any other group that would have your freedom taken away--vote for the Maabaran National Party to claim our region back.
I. Self-Determination
Maabara, along with its unique culture, is being held back the the current government in Ferñao, which refuses to respect the rights to self-autonomy which we ought to enjoy. The Maabaran National Party says no more to the evil suppression of our culture and political rights by the forces of the radical right and the leftists who side with them against our freedom. Our region holds its own values, ideals, religions, and political beliefs; nonetheless, the values of people in Ferdinand, for instance, are being shoved down our throats increasingly every day. It's time we gave the Maabaran people their own direction: the power to move forward on their own, without being told what to do by others. As such, the Maabaran National Party is calling on a powerful platform of positive change. In power, the MNP will take the following steps to give our people their rights back:
- Call for a referendum on independence. A government derives its rights of government from the people. As such, if the Maabaran People desire the freedom to govern themselves, they ought to have it, along with a peaceful transition of power to a government of Maabarans themselves. In whatever position we have, the Party will use its influence across Ferñao to push for this right, one so fundamental and God-given that any denial of it is a grave evil.
- Grant greater regional autonomy to Maabara. By devolving powers to the Maabaran Parliament, we are able to allow Maabarans to govern themselves on certain economic and social issues. Local government is the most direct form of democracy, as it allows every voice more power to influence policy based on their own beliefs. Maabaran issues ought to be decided by Maabarans, no Ferdinanders.
- Fight for Maabaran causes in the Senate. As a purely Maabaran party, the MNP is able to bring national attention to issues facing everyday Maabarans, rather than being forced to bend to the will of national parties like the Red-Green Alliance, which do not care for our interests, and will often force us to vote against our will, under the guise of left-wing unity. We will vote with the RGA on an issue-by-issue basis, working to protect our own state.
II. Multilateral Pacifism
The simple fact is that Ferñao's current foreign policy approach: military expansionism, absurdly high defense budgets, and refusal to act with other nations to create progress has failed miserably. As a consequence the lives of Maabaran soldiers are put at risk every day in vain. To further this evil, billions of dollars are wasted on useless and irrational programs and on paying for new bombs that we can never afford to use while millions are left in poverty across Ferñao. The facts are in--we are strongest when we work with others. As such, the MNP believes that progress is best made when we stand together as one global community to advocate for positive global change, not new bombs. We are calling for radical change towards this end by standing for the following policies:
- Cut funding for Ferñao's excessive military. The truth is that any attempt to balance our budget ought to deal with unneeded military programs and the expansion of any nuclear arms programs. We ought to be working towards eliminating inefficiencies in our defense budget, and exercising prudence in the use of force, a virtue that is surprisingly lacking amongst both major parties in Ferñao today.
- Join the United Nations. Almost every single respectable nation on Earth is involved the United Nations, except for Ferñao. It is an embarrassing fact that harms our reputation around the world--it is an expression that Ferñao does not care about global unity, a simple lie. Together, we can work towards improving global peace and security, without killing more innocent lives.
- Respect human rights and condemn dictatorships. It is simply shameful that Ferñao refuses to denounce the human rights abuses committed by regimes like that of North Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, and Iran, among other nations. We must walk forward, standing for the rights of human everywhere, rather than supporting evil for material gain. This is about working for the basic freedoms of all people, not just for Ferñaoans.
- Cooperate with other nations to combat terror and promote global security. The truth is that there are many threats to global security, such as the Islamic State, which have to be stopped. In order to do that, we must work together to share intelligence with our allies and to protect global security with the help of others. Just as no man is an island, no nation is an island--we need to pursue a fair, just, an multilateral foreign policy.
- Strengthen our (Fair) Trade Agreements and Alliances. Ferñao is better able to promote its own interests and economy when we are involved in multilateral trade agreements, presuming these protect both human rights and Maabaran workers. The MNP will ensure that any and all trade deals which Ferñao is a part of provide the best deal possible to local communities and protects the jobs of people in Maabara against the greed of transnational corporations.
III. Economic Justice

Yes. Agreed. Perhaps we could strike a deal with the RGA
