Legacy of the Walküre

PLACEHOLDER BANNER

July 15th 1944, Adolf Hitler, Hermann Göring, and Heinrich Himmler are all killed via explosion in the Nazi Wolf's Lair. Less than an hour later, a provisional government is set up, and the process to make peace with the west begins.

July 15th 1974, the United States, United Kingdom, French Republic, and Greater Germany finally step in to the nearly 50 year stalemate in the Chinese Civil war, all the while the USSR supplies the People's Republic of China with fuel, training, and weapons.

In France the situation of losing it's hold of it's colonies is taking it's toll on the war battered nation, and in a desperate bid to hold on to the resources it so desperately needs, starts ethnically cleansing certain regions of dissidents and maintaining an iron like grip on it's colonies. All the while communist protests are starting to be ruthlessly squashed under the heel of a progressively more fascist government.

In the UK citizens rejoice as they land the first man on the moon, after years of reverse engineering V2 wrecks and researching rocketry. Their air force is one to be feared, as VTOL jet fighters and multi-mach speed aircraft outrun anything the ground or air can fire at them, and their colonies continue to expand the list of Commonwealth members.

The United States develops the worlds first 32-bit super-computer, and with aid from UK scientists, uses it to help run their ICBM program. All the while their 14 states become more and more efficient at running their respective industries. From arms, to food, they have truly become a well oiled and well maintained industry giant.

In Germany, a particle accelerator fires for the first time, as men and women from all walks of life revolve through mandatory basic training like a hotel door. And infantry doctrine is pushed to it's imaginable limit, as an attempt to avoid such a loss of life as was witnessed in the 40s. And while thousands of Nazi politicians and SS soldiers lay in unmarked mass graves across the German countryside, remnants of their legacy still remain.

In Israel, the recovering Jewish population of Europe continue their lives among the Palestinians in relative silence, the Sinai and both sides of the Jordan river giving more than enough space for both to co-exist in a quiet, yet tense, peace.

In the USSR, Atomic powered intercontinental bombers land after week long patrols, and from Sapporo to Bucharest, all who live under the Soviet banner live in fear of their treacherous neighbors, the propaganda spewed to them from loud-speakers on every street tell them of the rapists, pillagers, monsters, and sub-human beings that surround them on all sides.

Welcome to Legacy of the Walküre, a story exploring what the international stage of the world would look like if Hitler, Himmler and Goring were all killed in the summer of 1944. You will be RPing as a member of one of the many Intelligence Agencies of the Allied Nations with a newly inducted Germany. You will be dispatched beyond the Iron Curtain in an effort to stop the domino effect before it truly starts falling. All the while waiting for the true legacy of the Nazis and SS members that fled to rise from ashes of the Fourth Reich.

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the US of A was widely regarded as ‘The American Experiment’ it is widely claimed as the first Republican Democracy in the modern age with great credit. Entering the Second World War when Pearl Harbour was bombed, and ending it when they crumpled the city of Kitakyushu under the heels of their infantry, The United States has taken a massive turn from where they were less than a century ago. From an isolationist power more focused on internal power and build up, awakened into an industrial giant of which the world had never seen before.

Since the late 1940s, the USA has since become an even greater industrial powerhouse, dividing it’s rather large landmass into a simple 14 states rather than the previous 49, based around respective industries and named after the largest cities in their respective areas. From fishing to vehicular manufacturing, the United states has become the largest supplier of it all to both themselves and other nations abroad, but while their products are the most plentiful, they aren’t the best on the market.

While The United States has become the leader in mass production, they still remain a separated society, racism still runs rampant to the point that segregations sees no chance of being repealed, while interracial marriages are barred and interracial children will result in the parents becoming convicted felons.

After the Second World War the UK returned to simply focusing on it’s own empire. From Georgetown to Bombay, the United Kingdom held it’s holdings with an iron grip. Except when India became independent, though maintaining its ties with Britain. And so the idea of a greater commonwealth was formed.

England sent a proposal to all of its colonies, independent forms of government, freedom to run themselves in whichever way they saw fit, but they were required to maintain strict trade exclusivity to the British Isles, and to maintain a mutual defense pact. Of course, those that took the opportunity were let go to be their own nations with their own internal policies. However, those that refused still remain under the heel of the British Monarchs.

Over the years since the 40s, the UK has become a less conservative nation, and while those of different colors and creeds are generally seen as equals, there is a still a large amount of discrimination against women in most places, though the nation currently has a female prime minister, pointing towards a possible revolution of culture. All the while the nation and its commonwealth brethren explore the stars, and travel between their varying geographies in massive airliners that go speeds not dreamt of in the second world war.

After the Second World War’s Peace Accords, Germany was left on it’s own to rebuild and recover from the war it started, and ultimately had been inflicted upon itself. And while many had doubts that Germany would be capable of recovering from a second world war in it’s recent history, it not only recovered, but excelled. By 1964, the nation of Greater Germany had managed to obtain a degree of infantry doctrine that had yet to be seen in the world. Body armor that could resist the impacts and ballistics of most small arms munitions at the time, and with a growing armed forces of both men and women, the world feared yet another world war. And then they requested to join the Allied Nations in 1969.

Seeing as Germany’s war machine had managed to gain a second wind, and that the growing fear of the Comintern was racking their own nations, the Allies met Germany, not as enemies, but instead as allies.

Since the fall of the Third Reich, all traces of Nazism and racial purity have largely been wiped out, while racial and ethnic tensions, not to mention soft eugenics programs, do exist in the Nation, they are nowhere near where they were in late 30s and 40s. With civil liberties taking an upward turn after the loss of life experienced in the second world war, to the point where both men and women serve in nearly every facet of society.

Following the conditional surrender of Germany, France was still not out of the water. Following Italy’s cries for help in a final cry, Spain pulled an uncharacteristic change in their neutrality, and started a two front war of their own against an unsuspecting Portugal, and a weakened France.

Needless to say, it didn’t turn out well, given the Allied Forces in Europe’s now open front, and France was allowed some form of war reparations. Though this didn’t help as much as it should have.

With a lack of what they actually needed to repair the damage done to them, they had to crack down on the colonies they still held, implementing archaic and brutal practices in the hopes of becoming a recovered nation, but instead they only accelerated the path to rebellion. Almost 73% of France’s colonial holdings have either seceded or are in open rebellion against French rule. Leading to a severe lack of supplies.

After the war, civilian life has taken a downward spiral to fascism. With Charles de Gaulle dead in the early 60s, the new government was to make France their own. And now the once free nation is now starting to look like Germany once dead, much to their neighbours disgust, and fear. Although, Germany and France do have a mutual health agreement in place, for Germany’s genetic undesirables to be deported to France in exchange for a good chunk of Germany’s GDP. Although it still isn’t much help to the failing French empire.

After the United Kingdom offered it’s Levant holdings to the Jewish people after the Second World War’s peace accords, Israel has held a special place in the eyes of it’s neighbors, those of hate. And despite the relative peace they hold with their indigenous Palestinians, they have faced a threat of both internal and external destruction for over 30 years. Despite this, they endure.

After a week long war involving Iraqi, Saudi, and Syrian invasion Israel not only managed to survive, but managed to gain land, not only as the Jewish nation, but as an Arabic one as well. The 1958 Six Day war stands as a testament in the nation as what brothers in arms can accomplish, no matter their creed.

Under equipped, but far from undermanned, the Israeli army has been propped up by -surprisingly- Greater Germany’s arms trade, acting in mutual defense and a sort of atonement for the Nazi Party’s actions in the Second World War. Even coming to the beset nation’s aide during the 1969 Yom-Kippur War. The duo of nations seem to a have a realpolitik relationship going on, rather than a fondness for each other’s publics.

Israeli civility is that of ‘everyone does their part.’ from the military to that of the factories and gardens, men women, and occasionally children do whatever they can to ensure that Israel remains the paramount in a sea of tyranny and uncertainty, and while the ethnic tensions between the Muslim population and the Jewish population exist, they hate their neighboring countries more than each other.

Wait the U.S has 14 states in this?

I cannot wait to see what logical distribution of the former 48 are. Not sure if Hawaii, and Alaska even had time to become states from the sound of it.

Husks

Husks are the first stage of the life cycle of beings known as the Nether at least as people have incorrectly called them anyway. A husk implies something dead, and emptied of its contents long ago. To many who see them the description could possibly be accurate in the more advanced husks. To contract whatever material it is that begins changing the body from within requires contact from another husk or perhaps its progenitor a fully formed nether. It only takes a single scratch or perhaps not even that, but infection is absolutely certain no matter what.

Most people either choose to commit suicide as they would rather die human than turn into something as a cruel, and inhumane as the husks. The husks themselves aren't like this, but rather compelled by their progenitor to forward whatever goals they mysteriously harbor. Back to the infection its nature is just as mysterious since no one has really been able to pin it down, and that might be explained away by the fact the Nether originate in the rift, and all things dealing with them are completely alien to us. Some have tried lopping off the parts touched or racing into the fog on rumors it can help expel the infection from your body.

Any results from attempts to cure by methods in the fog are unconfirmed. There are also potential ways of being cured by going to one of the camps of the so called uplifted, and begging help from them, and the gods they worship. Apparently it works, but the price is joining them, and ascending to something beyond humanity as we know. The infection works quickly forcing the host to expel all the blood in their body rather fast, and surprisingly painlessly. This under normal circumstances would kill someone, but this is no normal transformation at all.

The replacement blood is dark black, and evidence of that shows itself within a weeks time. Many will have ended their lives on their own terms or have been killed by others at this point. The brain begins to be rewired forcing the host to think of its survival, and run away from other humans. The skin begins to feel sensitive to the touch, and eventually forms the liquid like skin the husks are notorious for. The husks gain their withered skeleton look over this year cycle by expelling their now liquefied which are no longer needed at all. Everything else breaks down save for the skeletal system, and the brain break down into black blood.

The worshipers of the nether in a foul ritual collect the black blood of a husk to be used for the purpose of infecting others. The black blood on its own is noted for being able to heal anything, but this serves as a front for the infection to reside dormant within its new host for years. The husks once they look like proper skeletons albeit with black flesh covering them don't look like much of a challenge, and that is the mistake of many new to seeing them. The skin can be fashioned into any kind of weapon useful to the defense of the husk which leaves most who go up against them severely injured or dead if they aren't careful.

Near the end of this year stage any husks within a certain vicinity gather together, and form a herd. The purpose is to find a place untouched by the blood coral or perhaps find a weakened patch of it, and all at once collapse. The skeletons are left with a little present which serves as the building blocks of blood coral. As for the skin you will find it being directed to an unsuspecting victim to take possession of, and live inside of them. An impostor with the goals of blending into society until their appointed time to create more husks.

Impostor

All that a person is once infected by the Nether is just an extension of the collection the Nether possess from across multiple worlds which ranges in the quadrillions. Near the end of the husk stage the person that was once thriving, and healthy is reduced to the black soup of skin that covers their former skeleton. After being released they search quickly for a host either human or not, and possess them quickly. The possession in humans happens when the skin (the being detached from the husk) forces itself in a liquid form down the victims eyes, ears, nose, and throat in a rapid fashion. The victims personality, and being are fought with over control of the body, and it is rare for the victim to win.

The last thing most victims reportedly see are their memories being accessed in a quick fashion. This is the skin learning what it needs to fulfill its role as an impostor. The skin melds with the body quietly controlling the brain, and acting as its victim for years before acting on its ultimate impulse. The impulse to infect others with the same condition it has, and bring them into the collection the Nether possess. It can be anywhere from a year to thirty years depending on the attitude of the individual impostor.

One incident where an impostor gave in to their impulse was at a wedding. The father had apparently been taken over twenty years ago, and watched as his daughter married in front of a crowd of 500. According to the few who survived intact they had spotted someone putting what looked to be a black substance in the food it turned out to be black blood according to lab tests. After the priest finished the ceremony the father transformed along with what appeared to be thirty other people quickly overwhelming those who hadn't eaten the food. Others were sent to collect those who ran, and from the look of the survivors only six made it intact.

According to them the impostors true form is that of the black skin in a more refined liquid form controlling a body. No matter how long an impostor tries to fight the impulse whether they truly feel love for those they have come to know as friends, and family is unknown. There are a few unconfirmed reports of impostors going out on their own terms using whatever was left of their humanity to do it. After this purpose is completed the next stage will happen within days. From here on out their humanity begins to degrade, and is replaced with something entirely alien to our universe.

Drones

The drones are the common foot soldier within the Nether ranks, and the third stage of their life cycle as well. After an impostor completes they work they transform permanently into a drone shedding their human skin. The personalities, and identities of the first host that formed the skin, and the second that was possessed mix into a new identity. Their humanity slips even further away, and their concepts of human ideas begin to delve into a much stranger road. Their body loosely contains the form of the species it originated from meaning the drones contain a variety of forms, and are supposedly billions in number.

Drones work with cultists from all species to undermine the host species of the planets they have taken in. They serve behind the scenes to spread misery amongst the host species, and force them to conduct an inevitable planet wide war. Their cultists, and informants ensure a chosen victor wins, and that the self replicating matter from the rift is used, and abused. They wait for the right moment when the victor implodes, and spreads chaos across the world to get to work. The Nether seem to be in an eternal war with an unknown enemy who seems to trigger the collapse of the victor, and thus the cycle continues.

The second, and final confrontation amongst the host powers is organized as both sides hedge their bets. The result is always collapse of civilization on a planet wide scale leaving the drones to do the more important work. Collecting the host species in camps to be infected at accelerated rate after the initial waves of infection. The primary goal is ensure the survival of the blood coral, and this stage of the life cycle can take an indeterminate amount of time to complete. While they can be killed it is much harder to kill them than it is husks, and impostors.

Guardians

The Guardians are a higher rank, and the fourth stage of the life cycle of the Nether. They stay within the confines of the blood coral to keep it protected from attacks by the host species or their unknown enemy. The blood coral takes a long time to expand, and thus guardians will be in this stage for a relatively long time. Much tougher than the life stages before them they operate in groups, and use strange combat tactics. When not having to actively protect the forest they seem to become like statues sleeping until they are needed.

Any hints of emotion within their speech are dampened often forcing them to speak in what sounds like a clear monotone voice. They seem to have some form of mind link, and will often speak together at once. Guardians are not to be trifled with for they have a very brief patience for those who do not belong in the blood coral. They have no interest in infecting, and continuing the cycle for that is not their job. It is right to fear the guardians for they will slaughter anything that gets in the way of their job with relative ease.

The Towers

When the guardians reach a certain age, and their patch of the blood coral gets large enough they combine to form what is known as a tower. Then the oldest drones will form the new guardians to protect them. The Tower will exist for an indeterminate amount of time, and serves as the head of the blood coral. The tower serves a three purposes really, and the first is to serve as a launch pad for the materials needed for more blood coral to expand across the world. The second is to ensure the blood coral patch it is in will live on should the host or the enemy somehow manage to weaken it or destroy it.

The third purpose is to gestate the former guardians into Nethers a process which takes an indeterminate amount of time. The fifth stage of the nether life cycle is where the last bits of humanity, and emotion are stripped away. The towers strangely can give out knowledge to anyone who asks, and no one is quite sure of why that is. Possibly at one time it was meant only for the lower life stages, but now host species have begun using it to gain an understanding of their invaders. It is believed that after a certain point of no return all towers across the world will activate a signal wiping out all unaffected life by rapidly changing the environment.

Nethers

The final stage in which the most feared beings in the known universe come into life if you can call it that. They are no longer connected to anything physical within the universe, and can freely violate most if not all of the laws of the universe. Their enemy has found ways to hinder them though supposedly, but none seen yet. The Nether are creatures of the rift no longer human or filled with emotion their past identities are insignificant. The only morality they have is beyond human understanding, and their purpose is to serve their masters with duty. Whenever seen they are busy collecting knowledge while letting the stages below them deal with the more dirtier work of planetary submission.

The Nether got their name since it appeared like they were demons coming from the pits of hell or some abomination coming from the very center of the planet. They have used human superstition, and religion to their advantage to allow their work to be done. They hold disgust for the idea of being worshiped as gods by the cults their drones organize. Yet the nether will tell you their masters aren't gods at all like some humans falsely believe instead they serve one. It seems once a cults job is done they may be disposed of rather than given the reward they clamor for.

Regardless of popular myth the Nether cannot be killed by any means from this earth or this universe at all. They can be killed in the loosest sense of the word by the artifacts that originated from the rift, but even then it is only temporary. They have a tendency of collecting anything, and everything possible including entire towns, and cities if the rumors are to be believed from their drones. It appears that samples of the host species are collected as part of their fanatical quest for knowledge. As to what they do with the planet of said host species after their end stage protocols are activated...well no one knows exactly.

When the Nether take a special interest in a certain human it means they are in trouble. The chosen as they are known are the products of humans that were set upon, and survived the horrific screech the Nether gives out looking directly at a person when in their phantom form. The target will begin having their mind set upon by visions that breach the very core parts of their mind. The transformation causes the hair to turn white as snow, and for the person to become erratic as their mind shifts into that of a nether, but in a human body. Their emotions are limited, and the morality is just like that of a Nether.

The chosen also wield abilities like the Nether to a much lesser degree though, and can only be killed or wounded by artifacts as well. Both the chosen, and their progenitor have no sense of time or are effected by it due to their connections to the rift. Leading them all are the masters the oldest, and strongest of the Nether even if those terms are irrelevant to them in the grand scheme of things. The masters serve an old deity with unknown origins with an interest in knowledge, and as servants they too are affected by this obsession for knowledge. As for the methods they have used to obtain knowledge, and its outcomes all serve to continue their unknown goals of enforcing the grand scheme.

The grand scheme seems to be their version of the balance as they have been in a perpetual war with this unknown enemy since before this universe probably came into existence. The Nether seem to be able to only act along with the enemy if certain planets meet the right conditions. Whatever the cause of this agreement in this everlasting war it most likely has left most planets completely unaware of it happening at all. Whatever they plan on doing in the Valley specifically it must relate to their obsession. What does the Valley have to possibly do with their grand scheme?

So I made a thing...after several hours.

Quite the read indeed...

Anyone up for an RP about a Special Police Task Force operating in a large, fictional city against a network of criminals dealing in illegal drugs, weapons trafficking, human trafficking and violence?

Cyberpunk is certified kino friend. If it isn't like future tech or something like that, why do a fictional city?

I might give it a shot anyhow.

because I'm too lazy to use the already existing demographics for an existing city.

wait, good point. but what real life city would be useful and unstable enough to have such a network?

It's been a long time since something like this happened in El Paso. We generally like to keep things away from prying eyes, just head out to the pick up in Juárez and then take the stuff to the drop off near Tom Mays park. But some people just can't keep to themselves. You see we're just like any other business, we provide a need for an existing demand. But those thrives in Washington aren't happy with what we're doing. I'd reckon it's because they ain’t profiting off it. Last week our boss was caught up in a scuffle with the Feds near Vinton, him and his boy both got shot up. Now the fishy thing is that no one knew where he was going, the cops arrested the guys buying the Coke, and no one else seems to on the radar right now. Some of us think we've got a mole in the group. If I was the boss I'd make sure that fuckers dead before he can blow the whistle on anyone else. The Sun City is now our hunting ground, we’re going to find this guy and we’re gonna make sure he can't say another damn word.

Cocaine Cowboys is a Neo-Western Crime RP set in El Paso Texas in 1985. You are a member of a criminal group which makes up an important component of the Mexican-American drug trade as the use of Cocaine starts to. Blossom in several American cities. Your boss, Venustiano "El Oso" Chávez was recently killed in a DEA Sting, his son and second in command Bolivar was taken into prison. The goal now is to try and make things as normal as possible and pick up the pieces, but you can't seem to figure out how they got the drop on the boss. It's evident that there is a mole in the group, or at the very least the fear of a mole. The group has taken it upon itself to weed out any potential Narcs from within.

Disclaimer
This RP will be rife with mature subject matter and very politically incorrect substance. This is done to make the RP as real to life as possible, sadly things like Homophobia, Transphobia, Sexism, and Racism are very real things in 1980's Texas. While I am not going out of my way to intentionally offend any potential RolePlayer I am trying to create realistic characters. If you find something said or done in this RP distasteful you have been notified beforehand.

Adventures in Shitposting
A Story of Conspiracy

Image

>>IC<<
>>Theme<<
>>The Pub<<
OP:
CO-OP(s):

It started innocently enough. A thread on 4chan's /b/ board posed a number of religiously posed questions regarding several medical conditions that the board seemed to have a penchant for. This ultimately culminated into contacting several local priests and sisterhoods to get an answer. Though said answers were summarily deemed 'shit'. Though a single Anon found out the best way to find an answer, E-Mail the Pope. After waiting nearly a week for a response, they got around three sentences explaining that such questions could not be answered.

Finding such a response to be 'fucking retarded', the thread made a plan. In classic 4chan fashion of getting shit done when it's least expected, they decided to break into the Vatican Archives to learn the truth. Unbeknownst to the secrets, artifacts, and souls contained within, the mischievous miscreants execute their plan on July 7th, 2017, hoping for some ironically divine help. Instead, they'll stumble upon a conspiracy that has lasted over 2000 years.

And then they'll be in for an adventure.

Welcome to "Adventures in Shitposting" a story revolving around an intrepid group of shut ins who manage to not only break in to the Vatican's Ancient Archives, but get wrapped up in secrets kept for millennia. Over the course of the RP, the characters are tasked with spreading the news of what they've found across the world in hopes of finally clearing up some clerical errors and outright miscommunications. Their adventure will take them across the world, from Jerusalem to Gary, Indiana, all the while with the opportunity of mystical powers and loot tempt them at every turn, and with the hostility of the various factions trying to stop them following their every step.

Understandably this RP will revolve around the happenings of the Bible, Torah, Koran, and several other holy texts, as well as a number of historical events and unexplained happenings throughout human history, and is not to be taken seriously at all. Seriously, this is a comedy RP, don't lose your minds over things.

2. I (the OP) reserve the right to kill off your character for stupid actions. I (The OP) also reserve the rights to: deny an app for any reason, retroactively deny an application, or request someone to permanently vacate the thread.
3. Don't be a dick OOCly.
4. Arguments over religious and political happenings and their validity will not be tolerated at all, everyone has a right to believe what they want, and saying someone's wrong for believing something you don't will get you removed from the thread with zero leniency.
4. Poor grammar, spelling, and formatting are valid reasons for denial. As are one liner posts.
5. Keep it clean, noting overly descriptive in terms of violence and no sexual content that wouldn't be kosher in a PG-13 movie.
6. Have fun!
