Camelone wrote:If you keep them in character then I'll be fine and if it's just small things that'll bs fine. I'll tell you if you need to change some things but you have the green light.

Zentrus wrote:If you're still accepting people, that'd be great. If not, oh well. Anyway, here it is:
Name: Gonzalo Duarte, PhD(Image)
Age: 59 (born 1958)
Sex: Male
Personality: Calm and fairly easy-going normally, but when exposed to stressful situations, his long-suppressed anger problems often flare up with surprisingly violent outcomes (for a man of his age, anyway). Is deeply patriotic and a firm believer in cybernetic socialism (the constitutional ideology) and has a great love for his work.
Occupation: Research Professor of Bioanthropology at the National University at Dawnpoint (capital of Zentrus)
Bio: Born in Pamplona Nueva, a largely Spanish-speaking city in the industrialized southeast of Zentrus, Gonzalo Duarte grew up under the increasingly repressive and corporate-run National Republic of Zentrus, the predecessor to today's Democratic Federation. Under the National Republic, Spanish-speakers were repressed in a misguided attempt to "harmonize" Zentrusian society, and he was only able to speak Spanish in secret, with close friends and family. His Catholic heritage also caused intense scrutiny after he entered the National University at Beakburgh, in the northeast. However, he kept his nose clean throughout his bachelor's and was able to graduate magna cum laude with a BA in Anthropology (Bioanthropology Track). With his exemplary academic history and an interest in foreign affairs, he did a dual-focus masters in Paleoanthropology and a Master's in Camelonean Studies in Dawnpoint, but with mounting student debt and a difficult life under the regime, he was forced to cancel his plans of a PhD and join the military of the increasingly failing National Republic in 1983. There he languished in the boring, directionless position of sergeant for just over a decade until the collapse of the Republic in 1995 due to a failed economy and political deadlock. He returned to Pamplona Nueva and served in the Transitional Zentrusian Administration as a delegate from his home city until the formation of the Democratic Federation in 1998. With his economic situation secured by universal basic income and his debts erased, he was able to finish his PhD at the National University in Dawnpoint in 2002, and then secured an assistant research professorship there. In 2009, he became a full research professor and gained tenure, and, with the discovery of the new tomb, has journeyed to Camelone in hopes of unearthing strange new secrets about Heathen society.
Fears: Heights, crows (yes, really), a faceless and uncaring state that oppresses the masses and hates you because you were born in the wrong ethnic group(but that's more existential)
Why they want to study the tomb temple: Professor Duarte believes the temple might hold fascinating new insights into the nature of Camalonean Heathenism, the intersection of their religion and society, and hopes that he might be able to study some of the bodies in order to glean eating habits and lifestyle from the bones.
What do they think of the villagers testimony: He believes it's merely hysteria on the surface, but secretly fears it might be true
