Transcontinental Railroad Being Built

Persia Moves 32 Year-Old CEO Ardeshir Dilshad announced that construction of the Tehran Transcontinental Railway Station is underway, concept art shown here is a beginning idea, but it is likely to evolve as time goes on. Construction has begun, the appease community interests, it will be built just outside the city, closer to the suburbs, with road connection to the capital. It is likely to cost billions upon billions of Rials. Persia Moves is financing most of the construction in Persia, but the government is also paying for a lot of it. Opposition parties have protested high costs, and many people are questioning the project. PM Akbar has said, "it will connect Europe and Asia like never before." He has also pledged to release all documents involved to the public, and has pledged to provide the best working conditions possible, and the highest possible wages for workers. Already released documents show that wages are above average for rail workers. Some have said he may even nationalize parts of the railway in Persia. Others say Persia Moves would never have agreed to making it if nationalization was involved. Either way, railway track is also being laid down, reaching from Tehran to Tabriz, with some smaller stops in the middle. The project will take a long time, but it appears to be a crowning glory for the Persian Lion, Ladvanian Lion, and Soviet Bear.

Grandes Terres Order's Two Charles De Gaulle-Class Aircraft Carriers and 100 Dassault Rafale's for €18 Billion From France

Today the Terresian government has announced it's purchase of two Charles De Gaulle-Class aircraft carriers and 100 Dassault Rafale multirole fighter jets, 80 of which will be permanently based on the carriers, while the remaining 20 will be kept as reserve on-land. The two carriers are nuclear powered giving them an unlimited range. The hull's of the two carriers have already been laid in Brest and Cherbourg where they will be completed in several years. The Dassault Rafale fighters are already under construction and will start arriving before the aircraft carriers, so will be used for the pilots to train before the carriers arrive. Grandes Terres currently has two smaller aircraft carriers, the Cavour, which was completed in 2008, and the Giuseppe Garibaldi, which was completed in 1983. The Giuseppe Garibaldi will be sold, if any nations contact Grandes Terres with interest, or if it is not sold it will be scrapped meanwhile the Cavour shall be converted to a helicopter carrier/amphibious warfare ship and a second Cavour-class helicopter carrier will be constructed and the two will each accompany the Charles De Gaulle Carriers providing the helicopter contingent of the fleet. The two Charles De Gaulle carriers will be named "ITS Silvio Berlusconi" and "ITS Sergio Mattarella" while the new Cavour-class helicopter carrier will be called "ITS Volare", the Cavour-class helicopter carrier shall be built in Grandes Terres and the previous one was. It is reported that the government previously considered producing the naval variant of the Typhoon fighter since Grandes Terres already has the normal version of that fighter, however it was calculated that 100 naval Typhoons would cost much more than the Rafale M so the decision was made to purchase them from France.

PM Akbar Had Several Press Conferences during the "Week of Reforms"
Tax Hike on Dividends

Prime Minister Akbar has passed a new bill raising taxes by 3.5% on many types of business dividends for top tax brackets. These taxes were already high, and their increase as sparked opposition among all opposition parties, excluding the Iraqi Interests Party. The UIC said, "this tax is more socialist economics from the government which place our entire nation in danger." The People's Party said, "this bill is more irresponsible economics which place a crushing tax burden on basic business practices, nothing suspicious or dangerous. Normal practices, this places future generations of Persians in a crushing situation." The Iraqi Interests Party said, "the tax hike is absolutely necessary, and only targets top income tax brackets." PM Akbar got the bill passed through the SDU majority, though 2 SDU MPs voted against the bill, saying. "We cannot support an uncalled for and unnecessary tax increase." However, the bill passed. "This bill is designed to support the numerous projects the Persian government is embarking upon, including the Transcontinental Railroad and Agricultural Relief Administration. We have designed the bill to only tax top earner's and wealthy investment banks and mega corporations, not small credit unions or medium and small businesses, and definitely not individual middle class investors and stockholders." A new and controversial packaging scheme has now further complicated diplomatic matters, even so after the Puertollanoan withdrawal from the Nigerian Peace Summit, which later fell apart due to a mass exodus of member-states. President Castillo has announced from Bogota that his packaging requirement legislation, that enforces products coming from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Zackaroth to openly admit they're produced or manufactured in those countries with large stickers on their packaging, will begin the roll-out stage. ACTION has been taken today by authorities after Puertollano introduced a new packaging scheme which labels the products of several nations including Grandes Terres and has negative messages stamped on them, the Terresian government has called this scheme "Petty and unproductive" and has halted all exports to Puertollano so that the negative messages are not spread outside of Puertollano which could effect Terresian exports. As well as this the government has halted all travel Grandes Terres and Puertollano over fears of 'revenge attacks' against Terresian citizens who are visiting Puertollano, Alitalia, Grandes Terres' flag carrier, has said that it made the request for all Terresian citizens to board flights back to Grandes Terres two days ago before the media was notified of the decision to avoid "Terresians being trapped in Puertollano after the news was announced" it is now believe that the small number of Terresian tourists, believed to be less than 500, in Puertollano have returned to Grandes Terres on two separate flights two days ago. Perhaps one of the most shocking actions made by the Terresian authorities was to close the Puertollanoan embassy in Rome and to detain the Consul of the embassy. Rome Police have said that the consul is currently in police custody and shall be deported to Puertollano in the coming days. The Puertollano citizens who are currently in Grandes Terres shall be returned to Puertollano on chartered flights tomorrow.

Zackaroth business and political commentators confused on new Puertollano packaging "scheme"

Puertollano, recently unveiled a new political packing scheme meant to debase and insult forgien nations that move products through the country. However, Zackaroth had found itself on the list, sparking much confusion and jokes on social media. Zackaroth and Puertollano have an almost year long embargo against each other, though neither has affected both countries economically. In fact, Puertollano has embargoed Zackaroth no less then 3 times, despite the fact the previous embargoes where never lifted. As such, both political and business commentators were confused and amused by the move. Many said this means the government is either not checking its incoming cargo or that private business has somehow gone under the nose of a very socialist nation. Another possibility is that the country is getting Zackarothian imports from third parties, such as the NAF, but that would defeat the purpose and spirit of the embargo. A final possibility was raised that Puertollano is selling old Zackarothian made products left over from before the embargo to make a political statement.

Diversification Efforts

Following efforts to support farmers and develop a self-sufficient weapons industry, the government has supported efforts to diversify the economy, while oil exports have never been stronger, with Persia funneling oil to the entire DEU, Prime Minister Akbar said while at a new state-owned steel plant, "We must diversify our economy, not only to employ more people, to save us in the case of a global collapse of oil prices like before. Today Grandes Terres' main road construction company Atlantia announced that last month the Terresian government approved it's plan to construct Grandes Terres' first 'Autostrada' which will have no speed limit's and will stretch from Palermo in Sicily to the Swiss border near Milan, this will be the longest continuous motorway in Grandes Terres and will be the biggest infrastructure project ever undertaken in Grandes Terres, the project will take a decade to complete and will cost billions, so has been subsidised by the Terresian government and once complete it will be the longest toll road in Europe. The project will also include the construction of a bridge connecting Sicily to mainland Grandes Terres which will be 3,300 metres long, making it the longest suspension bridge in the world when complete, the bridge alone will cost €6.1 Billion and critics say that the entire product is a huge waste of money but the government says the project will employ over 100,000 unemployed people over the course of the project and says once complete motorway congestion will be gone on all other motorways as the traffic load will be well spread across all of the motorways. The government has also said that people will virtually be able to drive from the German Autobahn starting at the Danish-German border all the way to Palermo in Sicily without speed-limits bar Switzerland which will make cross-Europe travel seamless.

President condemns recent violence

President Dutoit has condemned the "violent and provocative" missile attacks by Orostan, Zackaroth, and Puertollano. The statement came following successful negotiations with French government officials and the Hyper Democratic forces of Nigeria, with the later agreeing to halt their state of hostilities against the Nigerian government and instead seek to form a united front. President Dutoit has said that France will not change any of their positions on the Nigerian issue, however has ordered that an expeditionary force be readied in Algeria for any possible future deployment if needed. Terresian Government Introduces Travel Ban On Nigeria and Orostan, Evacuates Terresian and DEU Citizens In The Two Countries

TODAY the Terresian government has announced an emergency bill imposing a travel ban on Nigeria and Orostan following the deadly attack on Orostan in which over 1 million people were killed, and a travel ban has been imposed on Nigeria due to the escalation of hostilities in the region. Several Terresian military transport planes have flown to Nigeria to pick up all Terresian citizens and any DEU citizens who request to be evacuated, Terresian military soldiers have also travelled to Nigeria on the planes to secure the airport and to protect people boarding the planes. In the case of Orostan, due to their being no ground war, the government has sent unprotected chartered flights to pick up Terresian and DEU citizens from Orostan, all evacuated civilians shall be flown back to Rome where any DEI citizens will have flights back to their home countries booked for them. The government has decided not to impose a travel ban on Zakaroth due to the presence of a Terresian embassy and many allied embassies in the country where terresian citizens can seek safety and advice, however the government has issued safety guidelines to all Terresian citizens in Zackaroth and all citizens who travel there must read the guidelines before landing, which include advice on areas to avoid and what to incase of a bombing.

Akbar: No Plans to Nationalize Intercontinental Railroad

The planned Transcontinental Railroad has some functions and areas nationalized by the government (40%), and many other are run by a collection of private enterprises, most of which is Persia Moves (35%). Some have speculated that Akbar may nationalize the Persian part of the new high-speed railway. PM Akbar said today that will not happen. "We have no plans to nationalize the railway. Parts are already nationalized, and we have no plans to expand that. Obviously the costs are very high, and we need to collaborate with the innovative minds of Persian businesses, which have boomed during the miraculous recovery from the Regime Wars, helped by SDU economic policies." He also said, "in order to construct the best possible infrastructure giant, we must have collaboration from public and private sectors." United Islamic Coalition and Opposition leader Saeed Jalili denounced the idea entirely, saying "this idea is really just a ploy by Western capitalist powers. The costs are astronomical, and is really just going to devastate Persia, and is more dangerous and irresponsible then any economic plan the SDU has proposed. State of Emergency Delcared, Citizen Militias Assist Relief Efforts

President Anderson has announced on radio and television that a state of emergency is in effect in Orostan at the moment, and citizen militias have begun operations to find any survivors of the Zackrothian blasts. President Anderson declared that the Zackrothian violation of basic human decency. A counter attack that occured soon after the Zackrothian missile barrage was launched was also publicized, and according to the government 200 missiles and five hundred warheads were launched at Zackrothian targets, none target deliberately at civilians inside cities. The Grand Terres Aircraft Carrier the Giuseppe Garibaldi has been purchased by the Ministry of Defense, for 100 Million. The aircraft carrier is 180 meters long, can go 30 knots, and can carry up to 18 aircraft. It has capable SAM systems, well-supplied torpedo tubes, and long-range cannons. The new carrier is smaller than the Cyrus and the Mosaddegh, but nevertheless it is capable and able. The capital of Zackaroth was assaulted by at least 200 missiles launched from Orostan. This was a response to an earlier attack by Zackaroth which in itself was a response to an earlier Orostan attack on Zackaroth. The capital is currently described a war zone, with the heavily populated inner city having been the worst hit. The death toll was originally thought to be around 500,000 but has now be upped to atleast 1.5 to 2 million from the after affects of the missile attacks. Many government buildings have been destroyed or damaged, and lesser government officials are either MIA or confirmed dead. None of the High Council has been reported dead and has been moved to an undisclosed location. The High Leader is also safe and has made small speeches. "The South American attack against us in the first place was uncalled for. It would be one thing to use these weapons in the actual theater of war. Its another to attack that nations livelihood and populous city. I know there will be other nations who will condemn us but Zackaroth will not sit by and let ourselves be attacked. Let this be warning. You may bloody us, try to break us but we will hit you harder and we will break you. We will hurt you. Attacking our homeland, our birthplace will always result in retribution, no matter what form it takes"

In other cities around Zackaroth, massive gatherings have been held for the dead as well as large scale protests. The terms "4 million more" and "Make Orostan burn again" are reported to being shouted. On social media, a picture of South America on fire is common, with Zackarothian citizens expressing rage and disbelief that South America would assault the home country of a nation for what was seen as a minor dispute in Africa. The High leader has said, no more attacks will be leveled at South America, unless Zackaroth itself is assaulted again.

"Zackaroth is death, and Death to Zackarot!"

After Zackrothians on social media called for the deaths of four million more Orostanis, there have been open calls for genocide of every Zackrothian man, woman, and child in Orostan. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has condemned this in a speech, stating that "no person should be demanding the deaths of another", and condemning anyone in the Orostani political scene that has called for deaths of Zackrothians. A massive protest was held in the Brasilia bunker system, where an undetermined amount of people held signs with phrases on them such as "Our Country Did Nothing Wrong!" and "Zackaroth is Death, and Death to Zackaroth!"

Public confidence in President Anderson is wavering, and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was suggested as a replacement by several people that were interviewed by Orostani National News, as one of his most publicized quotes on foreign policy is that "The Imperialists in the West will do everything they spread of the International Socialist Movement, and to oppose the idea of Orostani itself. It is therefore necessary that we establish socialism in many countries with all the power of Orostan, and to have our enemies surrounded by Socialist states." The recent war in Nigeria and war with Zackaroth has made Orostan's aggressive foreign policy seem ever more justified, being that it is clear that Europe is doing almost nothing about Zackrothian war crimes, and instead choosing to stand with Zackaroth, the nation whose leader is regarded on the same level as Adolf Hitler in Orostan.

North American Air-Force & other Agencies given the Greenlight to shoot down any and all missiles coming to and from the Americas!
With the recent exchange of missiles ongoing, President Anderson has given the Green-light to the Armed-Forces to take out any and all missiles possible coming towards the Americas. HELLADS attached to aircraft and static have been readied, some ships with Anti-Missile capabilities have been dispatched into waters not far from S. America, and other Anti-Missile Defense Systems have been readied. He states,

"Zackaroth has conducted a previous atrocity in South America, and now they're committing another one. Fourteen million or more have been killed in missile attacks, and more are to come. We will not idly stand by while more civilians die in blind attacks. We won't, however, let our friends make the situation any worse. The Federation will do anything and everything possible to defuse this conflict by any means necessary."

NAF Navy deployed to blockade Nigeria!
The North American Navy has dispatched a Fleet commanded by Admiral Roy Davis to conduct a Naval Blockade over the dominantly Socialist-controlled Southern Nigeria, by command of President Anderson. They have stated that any attempts to ship weapons to and from Nigeria will be shot down or denied access. The Fleet composed mainly of Destroyers, Missile Cruisers an Anti-Sub Frigate and even an Aircraft Carrier. Admiral Davis states that, "This mission is to prevent any non-humanitarian aid from reaching any faction in the ongoing Civil War. We cannot allow nations to fuel the flames of war for either side, just so more people can die over an ideology that may or may not work." This is not to say, however, that all supplies will be denied from entering Nigeria. Anything that can or is related to war materials will be denied from entering the country.

Peacekeepers sent to Orostan!
Peacekeepers have been sent to Orostan to both provide humanitarian to those effected in the missile bombardments, and to help Orostani citizens evacuate in case of any further missile attacks. This order was also given by President Anderson, as part of his attempts to defuse the situation. More news is to come, as to whether or not these attempts work.

Zackaroth makes "symbolic" gesture to refrain from sending anymore supplies

The High Leader announced that Zackaroth would halt military surplus and weapons to the Nigerian government. However, foodstuffs, medical supplies and other basic human necessities would still be offered and shipped in on road convoys. To promise their are no tricks, these new convoys are lightly defended and are only escorted within a limited distance in Nigeria. The High Leader said these are the only items that would be shipped as long as those are the only items being shipped to southern Nigeria. He promises to respect blockade as long as that respect is given back.

In terms of the attacks on Zackaroth, recovery crews still work tirelessly to recover those who have survived and begin efforts to clear streets and begin repairs as soon as possible. When the High Leader was asked whether or not he would make the same choice he nodded and said. "Like I said eariler. Anyone who attacks the Zackaroth mainland had best pray they wipe everyone out because we will strike back and we will hurt you. We where content to keep the fight in Nigeria and had been doing so. We offered our assurance to world leaders we would not repeat the same actions as we did during the first war. We had no plans or interest in attacking the main land of South America. However, they forced our hand. I regret the lives lost but those angry should look to their government and their leaders over and ask them why they decided to expand the war when it was no one's best interest"

Soviet Neutral Stance Ended!
Due to the conduct of the war by both sides of the conflict along with the mass of casualties suffered by the Nigerian people, Ivanov has ordered the previous Soviet stance military neutrality to be ended. Via contact to the NAF and other nations, Ivanov has given executive order for a task force consisting of two destroyers, three corvettes, and the Saint Joan class Aircraft Carrier gifted from France. The fleet will coordinate with the NAF to form a blockade off the coast of Nigeria. Ivanov is quoted as saying:

"We have left the each party in this conflict to their devices and only war has been the result. Any negotiation has too only resulted in further slaughter. In order for peace to be achieved we must no longer be passive.

Aid Request Sent Orostan and Zackaroth

Aid being readied to be delivered
In light of recent attacks within the nation of Orostan and Zackaroth the National Soviet has issued a letter of condolences to the governments ob both attacks to their lands and to those affect as well a promise if accepted to help alleviate the conditions of those affected via medical supplies, fresh water, and foodstuffs. A Soviet Sponsored aid mission is being coordinated to give relief to the current situation.

Today, the AIE and Libya started developing a unified economic market in order to better manage the countries' financial situation. After the war, the Libyan citizens feel especially pleased getting aid from its neighbor. Both countries have a lot to contribute: Libya can help out with the raw resources it has while the AIE can use its strong connections and trade deals with other world powers to efficiently sell it on the market and give Libya food products the AIE gets from Europe.

The President Khalid al Thamin urged the government of Zackaroth to reconsider its policy towards South America in order to avoid further bloodshed and outrage from the world community. He reaffirmed that the AIE wants friendly relations with its fellow Arab state and more cooperation.
