Like with Iceland? Oh wait...

Also Greece DID default. Some of their debt was written down, which, by definition is a default on that debt.

Iceland did the hardest austerity of any country in the world. It also did very well. Ok, I never said austerity is bad.

You think it is though. What I am saying is that the EU has been helping Greece avoid austerity, mot imposing it. The left wing narrative is bunk as usual.

Literally none of what you said is true. You're clutching at straws, as even the shallowest look at Iceland and Greece would reveal how Greece's austerity was several times worse than Iceland. Iceland made a point of keeping social welfare payments stable, so as to not knock their economy off the cliff edge.

And as to this myth that the EU bailed out Greece as a selfless act to help the Greeks, less than 5% of the bailout money went to the Greek fiscal budget. The bailout money was used almost solely for paying off debt, less then 10bn went to the Greek budget.

And not even necessarily Greek government debt, but Greek bank debt. Privatising profits and socialising losses. 48.2bn euro of the bailout was used to pay back the debt incurred by private Greek banks. It should have been written off, as Iceland did, and the bankers sent to prison.

The end result? Iceland has a booming economy and its people are prospering more than ever. Greece, on the other hand, is rapidly being turned into a third world country.

Yeah, that's what got me all confused. For some odd reason, whenever pedophiles are being investigated, 'satanic abuse' comes into play. Utterly bizarre.

There is a CND aspect to JC that I don't like, but I predicted - and turns out I was right - that the rest of the Party would be able to keep this in check.

I don't think that any weapons system is safe with the Conservatives. In the name of saving money they will sell anything. They tore up almost all of their last manifesto the moment they were elected.

What's more likely is that a Conservative government in financial problems will sell Trident or cancel its successor and replace it with Nuclear Tomahawk or something equally useless, to retain the image of having nuclear weapons but without any of the effectiveness.

As Lord Buckethead so wisely suggests, publicly announce a renewal of Trident, then secretly don't renew it.

The deterrent effect only requires people believe we have it. If it does come to a nuclear war we are fucked anyway.

Despite being plugged by the BBC and only positive coverage, a celebrity party chairman, and running in plenty of seats including against the "Sexist" Phillip Davies who has been attacked constantly by the press for misogyny, the Women's Equality Party got fewer votes than the Monster Raving Loony Party last election.

They could not even retain a single deposit.

"The Women’s Equality Party has since spoken out in favour of electoral reform"

lol.

W.E.P also outspent plenty of minor parties, especially if you include all the free advertising the BBC gave them by plugging them whenever they could, and got several 50,000 pound donations from wealthy white women angry at their husbands.
In Shipley, where they ran against Phillips, the Green party even dropped out and endorsed the WEP, yet the WEP couldn't even achieve half of the previous elections green votes.

Independent candidate Lord Buckethead achieved an average score for WEP candidates.

Example of uncritical and fawning coverage, not the only example.

Here, Marr can be seen taking seriously someone the electorate apparently think are on par with absurdist, parody candidates. This is a demonstration of the extent of the rot in our institutions.
Can someone find a 10 minute interview with lord buckethead on the BBC?
5 minutes?

Even if we pretend it was the only mention of the WEP, it's still disproportionate.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Or, y'know, the Women's Equality Party would be nice to vote for, but in our shitty political system they're wholly redundant and can't pick up joke votes because they're a serious party?

And yet, as Caroline Lucas pointed out, several dinosaurs are the kingmakers of this parliament.
